A year later, Emma had officially been crowned princess. Regina had stepped down as queen. After all, that was what her mother wanted for her. She just wanted to find love and she had. That freed the way for Snow to take her rightful place on the throne as queen. Mulan resided in the castle as a palace guard. Red and Dorothy moved back to Oz and were happily married. In the throne room, Emma, in her red gown, and Snow, in her ivory gown, were sitting next to each other on their thrones and Regina, in her pale pink gown, was sitting next to Emma while David sat next to Snow.
"Now this is the way it always should have been" Snow said. "And even though it took us a while to get here, I'm glad we finally did."
"I'm glad too" Emma said.
"So you don't hate being a princess anymore?" Snow asked.
"It kind of grew on me" Emma said. "Plus, I have my parents and the woman I love by my side. The only thing that could make this any better is if Henry was here."
"Then turn around" David said.
Regina and Emma looked toward the door and saw Henry standing there with a woman and a little girl.
"Henry" Regina and Emma said, in unison.
Emma and Regina ran over to Henry and gave him a hug and Snow and David followed.
"Moms, grandma, grandpa" Henry said. "I'd like you to meet my wife, Cinderella, and our daughter, Lucy."
Regina and Emma looked at each other.
"We're grandmas" Regina and Emma said, in unison.
Lucy gave them a hug and then went to give Snow and David a hug. Henry noticed Emma and Regina eyeing down Cinderella.
"And you are Henry's wife?" Regina asked.
"Yes mom" Henry said. "We love each other so much."
"As long as you're happy, that's all that matters" Emma said.
"But, how did you get here?" Regina asked. "How did you even know we were here?"
"Well, Lucy found a book and it didn't take me long to realize that the stories in there were your stories" Henry said. "My family and friends. And then we ended up growing magic beans to get back here."
"Well, however you got back, we are so happy" Emma said.
"Can I talk to you two?" Henry asked, looking at Emma and Regina.
Emma, Regina and Henry stepped away from everyone.
Henry opened the book and looked at Emma and Regina.
"Care to explain?" Henry asked.
Emma and Regina looked at the open page and saw the night of the welcome back ball when they kissed.
"Henry, we have loved each other for years" Emma said. "I know that this has to be a shock, but your moms are together."
"Oh, it's not a shock" Henry said. "The only thing I'm shocked about is how long it took you two to finally admit your feelings."
"You knew?" Regina asked.
"Of course" Henry said. "It was obvious, especially when I became the author. I just wish that I had been there when you two finally admitted it."
"Well, we wish we could have been there for your wedding" Emma said.
"Sorry about that" Henry said. "We just couldn't wait and we honestly didn't know whether we would ever make it back to you all."
"Well, we're glad you did" Regina said.
"And I am so happy that you two are finally together" Henry said.
Henry, Emma and Regina walked back over to everyone.
"Listen, we have some extra magic beans" Henry said. "If anybody wants to get back to Storybrooke."
Snow and David looked at Emma and Regina.
"Wherever you all go, is where I will go" Snow said. "Yes, I am happy to be back here and I think we always should have been here, but home is where family is."
"Emma?" Regina asked. "What do you think? Still want to go back to Storybrooke?"
"I really don't" Emma said. "When we first got here, I hated every minute of it and couldn't wait to get out of here, but after a year, it's grown on me. But, it's not just about me. It's about everyone. Our family. Our friends. Our kingdom."
"Well, we can check with everyone when they come to the ball in a little while" David said.
Emma looked at Henry.
"You better get ready" Emma said.
"We're invited?" Henry asked.
"Of course" Regina said. "It's your mother's coronation ball."
Lucy looked at Cinderella.
"Can I go too?" Lucy asked.
"We don't have anything to wear" Cinderella said.
"Oh, we can fix that" Regina said.
Regina used her magic to change Cinderella, Lucy and Henry's clothes.
"Perfect" Regina said.
"Then I guess we're set" Cinderella said. "Thank you."
"Anything for my daughter-in-law and granddaughter" Regina said.
Regina hugged Cinderella and Lucy.
About an hour later, it was almost time for the ball when Mulan and a few other guards brought in three extra thrones.
"I heard about three other royals in the castle" Mulan said. "So we arranged to have these brought over."
"Thanks Mulan" Emma said.
Once the thrones were in place, Mulan and the other guards left. Lucy was excited, so she sat on her throne.
"She never really got to do this before" Henry said. "Lady Tremaine took over Cinderella's kingdom before we met. Cinderella tried to fight her, but Lady Tremaine is just too powerful. I hope you don't mind, but we kind of brought some people here from her kingdom who wanted to escape."
"That's fine" Regina said. "I am so happy that you are back and Cinderella seems nice and Lucy is just incredible."
"She is" Henry said. "I used to read her the stories when she was growing up. Told her all about my family. She was so excited to come here and meet all of you."
Regina pulled Henry into a hug.
About half an hour later, everyone was at the ball dancing and having a good time and Emma walked over to Regina.
"May I have this dance?" Emma asked.
"Of course" Regina said, smiling.
Emma and Regina hit the dance floor and Snow couldn't help but smile.
"I don't know why I was so against this" Snow said. "She is so happy. I haven't seen her this happy."
"She sure is" David said.
David walked over to Lucy.
"May I have this dance?" David asked, bowing.
"Okay" Lucy said.
David and Lucy hit the dance floor.
"This is my first ball" Lucy said.
"And what do you think of it?" David asked.
"It's fun" Lucy said.
David twirled Lucy around and she had a huge grin on her face. Regina and Emma watched Lucy dancing with David.
"She's adorable" Regina said.
"She really is" Emma said. "Our son did good."
Regina pulled Emma closer to her and kissed her.
Mulan was watching everyone dance and just wished that she too could be out on the dance floor with someone who loved her.
"May I have this dance?" a voice asked.
Mulan turned around to see Red standing there.
"What are you doing here?" Mulan asked. "I thought you were in Oz with Dorothy."
"I was" Red said. "And you were right. True love isn't always what we think it will be. I tried to be happy because I thought it was supposed to be this way, but I wasn't happy. I missed being with you. I love you, Mulan."
"I love you too" Mulan said. "And yes. You may have this dance."
Mulan and Red joined everyone on the dance floor.
The night wound down and everyone began to heading back to their houses. The ballroom was empty except for Regina and Emma.
"That was an amazing night" Emma said. "And everyone wanted to stay here so it looks like I'm going to be princess for a very long time."
"You still okay with that?" Regina asked.
"As long as you're by my side" Emma said.
"You can count on that" Regina said. "I am not going anywhere."
Regina walked over to the thrones and grabbed a small box off of hers.
"Emma, I love you so much and I don't want to spend even one day without you" Regina said.
Regina opened the small box to reveal a beautiful diamond ring. Tears filled Emma's eyes.
"Emma Swan, will you marry me?" Regina asked.
"Yes" Emma said. "I will marry you."
Regina placed the ring on Emma's finger and then pulled her into a kiss. The sound of cheering and applauding caused them to stop kissing. They turned around to see Snow, David, Henry, Cinderella and Lucy standing there.
"This book is going to have a happy ending after all" Lucy said, to herself.
Lucy gave Regina and Emma a hug.
"Can I be the flower girl at the wedding?" Lucy asked.
"We wouldn't have it any other way" Emma said.
Henry and Cinderella gave them a hug.
"I am so happy for the two of you" Henry said. "You've finally found your happy ending. Both of you."
Snow and David congratulated them and gave them a hug.
