Hey guys! So, just a bit of explanation for the reason behind this story. I didn't like how Frozen 2 ended. I'm not going to go into full detail why, because it would probably take up an entire page to explain my reasons, but basically, I feel they could have done so much more with it then what they did. I do hope you guys like my plot idea for Frozen three. I decided to write the story as a sort of novel/script where it's told in novel form but the parts that are in parenthesis will kind of describe what is happening as though it was already in movie form. The parts in italics will be the songs. I don't own the Frozen Franchise, I just am a loving fan who wants the story of our favorite sisters to come full circle!
(After the classic Disney logo, we see a sort of drawing play by play of the previous two movies, with each drawing representing an important moment throughout the two films, leading up to the present. While this is happening, music is playing in the background. I can't really describe it well, so you can make up a nice, catchy sounding song in your head. Then, as the story begins, we zoom in on Arendelle)
It was a warm spring day in the kingdom of Arendelle. The people in down were bustling about, making preparations for the upcoming wedding of Queen Anna and Kristoff. Several men were lifting a large tapestry that portrayed Anna and Kristoff gazing into one another's eyes and had it hanging above the main gates of the palace. White streamers with green and purple highlights and white flowers were hung on every lamppost and along every window pane. Everyone was working with great hustle and joy, excited for the upcoming event.
While working on tying a boat to the dock, a worker heard a noise that sounded like the trots of a horse galloping and the splashing of water. He looks up to see Elsa, the former Queen of Arendelle and guardian of the Enchanted forest riding the Water spirit, also called the Nokk, towards him. He shot up in surprise as the Water spirit suddenly reached the dock and reared back, splashing water on the worker. Elsa couldn't help but chuckle at this.
"I'm sorry about that. He can be a bit mischievous at times."
"Oh, it's no trouble at all your highness" he quickly replied, bowing to Elsa
"I'm not a queen anymore, so there's no need to refer to me as 'your highness'" Elsa smiled to him as she stepped onto the dock
"Yes of course, your high… I mean, your grace. I'm sorry, I mean-" He began to fumble with his words
"Just call me Elsa"
"Yes, Elsa" he said, somewhat sweating from the nerves
While they were talking, people began to notice Elsa and began to swarm around her. Everyone was trying to speak to their former Queen. Two kids grabbed Elsa's hands, wanting her to use her magic to make some cool things. Eventually they all calmed down when a familiar voice called out to Elsa.
"Elsa, it's good to see you again. It's been some time since your last visit."
The voice belonged to General Mattias, one of the previous trapped inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest. After being freed, he rose to the position of General and has been able to adjust to all the new changes in the 34 years that he was away. Eventually, with the kind help of his love Halima, it was almost like he never left.
"Yes, it has. Because the wedding is drawing near, me and Anna decided to postpone charades so she can focus on other tasks."
"Speaking of the Queen, she's asked me to escort you to palace once you arrived. Shall we?" Mattias replied, with him extending his arm out and the crowd behind him making a path
Elsa nodded and took his elbow that he held out to her. They began walking through the town towards the palace.
"The Queen has already informed me of the purpose for your visit today, and Kai has arranged your old room for you to stay in while you're here."
"Thank you. Though from the looks of things, I doubt there will be much for me to do. As always, Kai seems to be on top of everything when it comes to planning events." Elsa smiled, looking at the hanging decorations
"True, but I'm sure Queen Anna would love to have your personal input for the final arrangements. After all, she wouldn't ask you to come visit and help her with the wedding plans if she didn't."
"You're right"
Just as they finished talking, they had walked up to the gates of the palace of Arendelle. Looking at the tapestry of Anna and Kristoff, Elsa couldn't help but smile. Unlike the time when she naively believed herself to be in love with Hans after knowing him for a night, Elsa was glad Anna was marrying Kristoff, the man she had come to know and love after spending a proper amount of time getting to know him.
The gates to the palace opened up and she and Mattias walked in, where they spotted Queen Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven waiting for them at the main doors of the castle. When the two sisters saw one another, they both smiled and walked to each other. Anna, though usually bubbly and flighty, actually walked a decent pace towards her sister. The time she spent as Queen helped her adjust herself when it came to her words and actions, allowing her to have more control over herself to not run to her sister like she used to. However, that didn't stop her from picking up the pace and then squeezing Elsa in a tight hug. It had been at least more than a month since her last visit, so she really missed her sister. They eventually let go of one another.
"It's good to see you Anna"
"You too Elsa. I'm glad you came." Anna replied, smiling to her as Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf walk up next to her.
"Hey there Elsa, been a while." Kristoff said
"Did you bring Bruni?" Olaf questioned, searching Elsa's person for the fire spirit.
"No, I felt it was better to leave him at the forest. Last time I brought him here, he got so excited he set a boat on fire." Elsa replied with a laugh, while Sven gave Elsa an affectionate nuzzle with his snout, giving his silent greeting to her, to which she patted him on the head.
"On that note, I'll see myself out" Mattias bowed, leaving the group and heading back out the gates
Anna looked back at Elsa, saying "With the wedding getting closer, I could really use your advice."
"Like what kind of flavor to have for the wedding cake?" Elsa giggled
"I would have thought that that was obvious"
"Chocolate" The sisters declared in unison, and began to laugh as they walked hand in hand into the castle as the others followed them in.
(A soft melody plays in the background as the day progresses into evening and then night, and we zoom into the windowed door of Anna's bedroom, where we see the two sisters getting ready for bed. Anna is at her desk while Elsa is at the mirror brushing her hair)
Anna begins to scratch her head in irritation, scratching out what she had just written on the paper before crumpling it up and tossing it into the waste bin. Elsa looks over to Anna, who sees the numerous crumpled papers in the bin.
"Everything alright?"
"Hm? Oh, yes, well…no. I just can't seem to find the right words to help explain the reasoning behind the slight increase to the import tax. If I overexplain it, it'll feel like I'm lecturing. But if the explanation is too simple, the people might feel as though I'm doing it simply because I want to." Anna replied, resting her head in her palm while setting her quill down.
Elsa quietly got up and walked over to the desk, read over a document, then picked up a quill and quickly wrote down a couple of lines. Anna, looking a little surprised, read over the paper once Elsa finished and slumped back into her chair.
"Huh. It's like it was nothing to you"
"Well when I was learning how to become Queen, Kai had me write many 'hypothetical' responses to different problems that I would face."
"Kai…hasn't taught me anything like that. In fact, he hasn't taught me anything at all." Anna replied, still looking at the paper
"I'm sure if you ask, he'd be happy to help you with anything you'd need to know. Though I know you, Anna. You can do anything you set your mind to." Elsa smiled to her
"Yeah…"
Anna became quiet as she looked out the window and at the moon that hung high in the sky. Elsa, sensing the mood, grabbed Anna's hands and pulled her up from her chair
"Do you wanna build a snowman?" Elsa grinned
"You know Olaf is in his room, right?" Anna snickered
"We don't have to tell him" Elsa whispered
Both women giggled and rushed off to the main ballroom. They looked around and saw no one was there. Elsa held a finger to her lips, signaling for Anna to remain quiet, then stamped her foot, her ice magic creating an ice rink on the floor. Making Anna and herself some skates out of ice, they make their way out onto the floor. Anna tries to skate by herself while Elsa does circles around her. Just as she is about to fall on her butt, Elsa makes a pile of snow to cushion her fall. Anna, while Elsa has her back turned, makes a snowball and hits the back of Elsa's head. Elsa looks back, smirks, and makes a huge snowball above her head. Anna giggles and tries to skate away but Elsa gets her before she can make any distance. Creating big piles of snow, the two sisters take a side of the ballroom and have a snowball fight.
Soon after their snowball fight, Elsa and Anna lie in the snow next to each other while Elsa uses her magic to make pictures in the air. Anna looks at Elsa's hands as she works her magic, then looks at her hands.
"Why do you think I wasn't born with magic as well?" Anna asked, holding her hands in the air
"I don't know. It would have been nice though. To have someone who understood what I was going through when we were growing up"
Anna was quiet for a moment, before saying "You know, growing up, I always wondered why mother and father were always worrying over you and never had time for me. After your coronation, it all made sense. Still, sometimes I wish…never mind" Anna replied, turning her head away from Elsa
"What?"
"It's nothing"
"Tell me" Elsa replied, stopping her magic picture show and lowering her hands to her chest.
"Well…(sigh) I sometimes wish that you didn't have magic. That you were still Queen... and that I could have become your ambassador. Now that I'm Queen, I don't have as many opportunities to do what I wanted to do when I was younger. I wanted to travel to the ends of the world, try exotic foods, meet new people, and discover a world of possibilities." Anna replied, flipping over to her stomach and tracing lines in the snow
"You can still do all those things. Being Queen doesn't mean your trapped in Arendelle. You just have to find the right balance." Elsa replied, turning to her side to face her sister
"That's easy for you to say. Your destiny was waiting for you to come and discover it. I can't even tell if I've found mine or if it's still hiding somewhere that I can't reach."
Anna voice became stern as she grabbed at the snow she traced and crunched it between her fingers. Elsa looked at Anna with a mix of concern and unease. Before she could say anything, Anna got up and brushed the snow off her dress.
"Come on, we should go to bed. We've got wedding plans to go over tomorrow. Kristoff will be doing his fitting for the suit he'll be wearing and that is something I'd hate to miss."
Anna gave a small smile before walking off. As she walked out of the ballroom, Elsa stood up and watched her leave. She then recalled her magic back into her, looked around for a second, then walked out.
The next morning, the palace was busy with preparations. Anna and Elsa walked through the halls, checking to make sure everything was progressing smoothly. As they entered the main hall, where they just had their night of snow fun, they saw Kai who was talking with one of the decorators. When he saw them, he smiled, waved the decorator away and walked over to the two women.
"My Queen. Everything is currently progressing very smoothly. Soon we'll have everything ready for the ceremony. All that's left is for the princess to give her final consent and we can finish the finer details."
The two ladies were silent. What Kai didn't realize was that he addressed Elsa as Queen and Anna as the princess. Anna, whose face was a mix of annoyance and awkwardness, did a muffled cough.
"Kai. Your Queen is right here" She said, trying not to sound mad
When Kai looked over to her, he suddenly realized his mistake and deeply bowed to Anna. "My apologies your highness! Please forgive my rudeness!" The sound of his loud apologies caused the decorators to look and see what the fuss was about. Elsa held up her hands, trying quiet him down.
"Kai, its alright. It was an honest mistake. Right Anna?"
"…Right. Carry on with your duties. I'll come do my final check a little later."
"Of course, right away!"
Kai quickly bowed again and then scurried off. Anna silently turned around and left the hall, with Elsa following her. As they walked through the corridor, Elsa spoke up, trying to end the uncomfortable silence.
"So…pretty color scheme you chose for the wedding. White, green and purple. Very nice choice."
"…Yeah"
They then reached the dressing room where Kristoff was getting his fitting done. When he saw Anna in the reflection, he grinned and turned to her. Seeing him in his newly tailored suite made Anna smile. The tailor saw the Queen and Elsa and bowed to them before leaving them to have some privacy.
"You look very handsome Kristoff."
"Thanks…it's a shame I can't see you in your dress till the day of the ceremony."
Anna laughed "Sorry, that's the rule. It's bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding."
Hearing the sounds of their voices, Olaf comes out, holding two small outfits that look like they were made for children. He held them up for everyone to see.
"Okay, which do you like better? This one or this one" He said, holding one up in the air, then switching to the next.
"Oh, that's a tough one. I personally like that one" Elsa pointed to the one on the right.
"Me too" Anna replied
"Really? Personally, I'm more in favor for the other one" Kristoff said, giving a confused look
"Okay, I'm going with this one" Olaf said, holding up the one that the sisters chose
"Hey, how come you chose their pick over mine?"
"Because you mostly like to wear the same outfits day after day and don't really have the best sense of style. She makes all of her clothes, and they're really pretty!" Olaf replied, pointing to Elsa, who wore a peach-colored ice gown with long gauntlet sleeves and a cape that covered her upper chest.
(I'm using one of the deleted dress designs for Elsa. If you want to see what I'm talking about, here's the link to the pintrest I found it on: . /pin/340514421827663538/)
"What do you think of my dress Olaf?" Anna asked him, showing him her dress
(I'm not going to try and describe this one, too much effort. Here's the link to the picture, it's the first one on the left: pin/529454499945671601/)
"It's nice! Though it could use some color, since it's already springtime. Oh! How about pink?! That's always a pretty color on you"
"You want me to fix it?" Elsa held up her hands, ready to use her magic to enhance Anna's dress. Anna, feeling a little off from not getting the same response from Olaf that he gave to Elsa, held up her hand before Elsa could do anything else.
"No, it's okay. I'll tell you what Olaf, I'll wear a pretty pink dress for you tomorrow, how does that sound? You can even pick it out for me"
Olaf gasped and clapped his twig hands "I'd be happy to!"
"Sounds great. Well, we'll get going so that you can finish up here. I can tell you want to hurry up and get this over with" Anna laughed at Kristoff, who started pulling at the fabric around his neck.
"Still can't understand how guys where this stuff everyday"
"Love you"
"Love you more"
"Love you the most!" Olaf joined in, causing everyone to chuckle as Anna and Elsa left the room.
As the two sisters continued their path down the corridor, Anna looked outside and saw there were some kids in the courtyard, crowding around a guard. "What is going on down there?" She asked, showing Elsa her discovery. They quickly make their way down to the courtyard and over to the group, where the kids, seeing them, begin to chatter even louder.
"What's going on here?" Anna asked
"Your majesty, these children here wished to see you"
"Me?"
"No, we want to see Elsa!" One little girl in front of the group cried out
The rest of the group kept calling out to Elsa, who looked surprised for a moment, then kneeled down to their eye level, where she asked "What can I do for you?" in a sweet voice
"We want to see you do magic!" a little boy replied excitedly
"Yeah!" The rest of the kids yelled in unison
"Oh…um…" Elsa looked visibly confused at their sudden requests, but then smiled and said "Sure, what do you want me to make?"
As the kids began to all talk at once, trying to get Elsa to make their request first, Anna, who stood there awkwardly, kneeled down next to Elsa. "Hey, you know I can do some pretty cool stuff too." She said with an uneasy smile
"Can you do magic too?!" One of the kids asked in awe, which made the others look to her with youthful wonder
"Um…well no, but I can do other cool things!" She replied, scratching the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"Like what?" A boy asked
"Like…I can…oh! I can juggle! Elsa, I need some ice!" Anna held out her hands to Elsa, who proceeded to make three solid ice balls to Anna
"Ooh, cold! Okay, watch this!"
Anna then proceeded to juggle the three ice balls into the air. She was actually doing fairly well, but the kids attention soon shifted back to Elsa, where they asked her for things like ice spinning tops and snow teddy bears. Anna, seeing that her audience wasn't watching anymore, accidentally dropped the ice balls onto the ground, causing them to shatter and splinter in many ice chips.
"Anna, are you alright?!" Elsa looked to her in concern
"I'm fine" She replied sternly
Anna then got up from the ground where she kneeling and headed back inside the palace, clenching her fists tightly in annoyance. Elsa hurriedly made a huge snow pile for the kids to play in and ran after Anna. By the time she caught up, Anna was already walking down an corridor towards her room, with no other maids or guards in sight.
"Anna! Wait up!"
Anna stopped in her tracks as finally stands next to her. "Why did you suddenly leave like that?"
"I…I don't know. I felt…angry and embarrassed. I know their just kids, but it was like I was the clown to your magician in the circus. They found me amusing for a moment, but then went right back to the main attraction." Anna replied bitterly, holding out a hand to indicate Elsa as the 'Main Attraction'
"Anna…"
Elsa began to try and comfort Anna by putting one hand on her shoulder and another on her arm, but Anna just shook them off and stepped forward away from her. She folded her arms inwardly and looked back to Elsa.
"Forget about it Elsa. Let's just go and do the final check of the preparations."
Anna started to walk away, but then her attention was caught by an unlit candlestick in the wall that was tilted to the side.
"That's weird, I wonder who left this candlestick like this?"
She takes hold of the candlestick and twists it back upright. Suddenly, a rumbling sound could be heard from the wall, which surprised the sisters, who took a step back as the wall next to the candlestick was slightly pulled back and then disappeared into the floor, leaving an opening in the wall. The opening revealed a black abyss, to which Anna and Elsa looked at one another before looking at it again.
"Woah"
"What is this?" Elsa asked
Anna proceeds to pick up a lit candelabra from a nearby table and holds it towards the dark room, looking at Elsa and saying "Only one way to find out"
Okay guys, I hope you enjoyed my first chapter of my idea of how Frozen 3, if there should ever be one, could be written. The next chapter will include the first song of the story, titled "One Step Behind You" See you all later with the next chapter!
