(A/N: Hi, sorry for the late update of the final chapter. I promised it sooner, but it took a tad longer to write than I expected and I had to help at home. We have finally arrived to the final chapter. I am grateful for all the support. I hope you enjoyed this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it for you. Before we begin, this final chapter will be longer than intended due to a request I received after uploading the last chapter. It definitely pushes what I've written before. I'm a bit nervous how you will receive it since this is the first time I got too ADULT with these kinds of scenes. Consider this my thank you for all the support and for sticking with my story this far. I hope you like it.)
CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: RETURN HOME
The Kingdom of Arendelle was graced with another beautiful day. Queen Anna was speechless as she laid on the green grass in the Royal Garden and gazed at the clear blue sky. "I can't remember experiencing such beautiful weather in my life." She looked to her right with a smile. "Is this your doing?"
Elsa rolled over on her side to face Anna and smiled, "You've had beautiful sunny days recently. You've just been stuck in your palace playing Queen all day. As Queen, you ARE allowed to take a walk outside once in a while."
Anna looked back at the sky. It's been a while since she got to spend quality time with Elsa due to her busy schedule as Queen. "You know, Elsa. Your right." Elsa smiled more before Anna finished, "But you still haven't answered my question." Anna rolled over and got closer to Elsa to examine her blushing face. "You have been VERY happy the past couple of days."
Elsa's face turned even redder before she quickly covered her face and rolled over on her stomach. "What are you talking about? I'm always happy."
Anna snickered with an evil grin before getting close enough to her ear so she could whisper, "Not until you started dating Donovan." Anna grinned seeing the mere mention of Donovan sending shivers all over Elsa's body. She switched to her regular voice, "I'm surprised to see you so worked up over a mortal, besides me since we both know I'm your favorite. Does he really make you that happy, Elsa?"
Elsa looked at Anna again with a smile, "Yes, Anna. Yes."
"Why? What is it about him that has such an impact on you? I know he's trustworthy, so I'm not questioning your interest in him. I'm just curious, Elsa. Why DO you like Donovan?" Anna asked.
Elsa finally calmed a little and looked at Anna. "He's sweet and kind. He gets all flustered when he tries to get bold with me and I call him out on it. He melts into an adorable mess when he freaks out and frantically apologizes to me for crossing a line. I like assuring him I loved it and that it's okay. He's good and humble. I don't sense any malice or hate or dishonesty or greed in his entire body. How can such a pure and beautiful creature exist?"
"HEY!" Anna said with a pout.
"Oh, Anna. You know you can be greedy and malicious with your chocolate. Don't act all innocent," Elsa giggled as she playfully poked Anna's nose. "The pity the poor fool who stands in YOUR way when you want chocolate."
Anna folded her arms and rolled away while muttering. She didn't like hearing Elsa favor anybody else. Anna instantly forgot she was angry and rolled back to Elsa when Elsa asked, "How are things going with you and Kristoff?"
"Not so good, actually," Anna said. Her happy face became sad.
Elsa scooted closer and stroke some of Anna's auburn hair out of her face. "What's wrong?"
"I- I think there's something wrong with me," Anna confessed.
Elsa's face got more serious as she quickly shot up, "Did he suggest that something was wrong with you?!"
Anna's eyes widened and she quickly sat up to look Elsa in the eyes, "No. No. No. Nothing like that. I'M saying there's something wrong with me, Elsa!"
Elsa stroked Anna's worried face, "Tell me why, Anna."
"I can't escalate with him. As Joan, the thought of being intimate with him seemed so easy, but as Anna, I can't- I want to give him ALL of me, but when he surprises me with those romantic moments, I freak out and run away with some excuse. What's wrong with me, Elsa?! Why can't I do IT with him?" Anna asked.
Elsa could tell Anna was very worried. She tilted Anna's face up so she could look in her scared, teal eyes. "Listen to me well, Queen Anna of Arendelle. There. Is NOTHING. Wrong. With you. The fact that you are hesitant and cautious doesn't mean anything bad. It means you have grown into a wise and mature young woman, Anna. You are not ruled by your lustful desires like you used to. It's natural for you as a young woman to want to give your body to the one you love, but please, Anna. NEVER give yourself away because you feel obligated. IT…is a very special and intimate activity that two people should never rush into. You are where you NEED to be right now in your relationship with Kristoff. Don't feel like you are required to take that step with him. Only take that step when you are ready, not one second before. Let it be of LOVE not obligation. Okay?"
Anna looked down at the bracelet Kristoff gave her. She could feel his love emanating from it. "But, Elsa. What if making him wait causes him to stop loving me and he leaves? I don't want to lose him, Elsa! I love him!"
Elsa became so concerned. Anna was once so confident in herself, so fearless, but now Anna was struggling with fears and insecurities that she never dreamed she would struggle with. "You are not going to like my answer, Anna."
"Please, Elsa, tell me," Anna begged, taking Elsa's hand.
"If he can't respect your wishes…If he can't wait until the time where you truly feel ready to progress to take that step with him…then he never loved you to begin with," Elsa said as gently as she could, but Anna freaked and quickly shot to her feet and looked at her with shock.
Elsa stood and came over to Anna and caressed her panicked face, "I know more than you how much he loves you. Go find him and talk to him about this. He'll understand. You'll find him delivering another load of ice to shops in the Market Square."
Anna looked in the direction of the town, then back at Elsa, who smiled and encouraged her, "Tell him, Anna. Tell him."
Anna quickly hugged her firmly before pulling away and running for town.
Elsa's smile slowly faded. The words she shared with Anna were also words she needed to hear and she began to focus on Donovan and their potential future together. A thought made her heart ache.
In the Market Square, Anna found Kristoff unloading ice to certain shop keepers, just like Elsa said. She took a step, but froze in her tracks out of fear. She looked back at Kristoff who noticed her and smiled with a wave. That made her smile and give her the courage to walk over to talk to him. "Hey, Kristoff."
"Hey, Anna. Out for a stroll today?" Kristoff asked with a smile as he caried a block of ice and carrying it to the shop owner before coming back. "Didn't realize you were allowed to do that," he joked, obviously making a comment about her busy schedule.
"Not exactly. I actually need to talk to you, Kristoff," Anna replied, "It's very important."
Kristoff looked at her with concern, hearing how scared her voice sounded and how nervous she looked. He put one of his hands on her shoulder. "Okay. Hop on. I need to make three more stops then we can talk. Okay?"
Anna took his hand and gave it a loving peck with her lips before she smiled lightly and nodded before climbing up into the passenger side. Kristoff watched her as she did, wondering why she looked so scared. He had to quickly finish up and find out. He didn't like seeing Anna so scared like this. His remaining stops were super quick and Kristoff took her to a more private spot in the kingdom so they could talk without being disturbed.
Kristoff laid out a blanket for them to sit on in the back of his wagon underneath a shady tree. He just happened to have a basket of food that he shared with her in case she was hungry. She accepted some bread, hoping that it would settle the butterflies in her stomach. She tried looking into his concerned eyes, but looked back down at her fidgety hands. "Oh, boy. I don't know how to talk to you about this."
Kristoff gave her a slow peck on her freckled cheek and his hand rubbed her hand to sooth her. "It's okay. Take your time. I'm here."
Kristoff was acting so sweet and caring that she couldn't help but tear up. This made him panic some and pull her into a comforting hug, "Hey. Why are you crying?"
Anna buried her face in his chest, grabbing a fist full of his shirt with one of her shaky hands. "Because I'm scared, Kristoff!"
"Scared?" Kristoff chuckled, "Why? You're the toughest woman I have EVER known. Even more tough than Elsa. What's got you so scared that you can't tell me?"
"I'm scared of how you'll react," Anna replied with tears as she kept her face buried in his chest. The way he was holding her was the only thing giving her the courage to speak.
He pulled away to look in her glistening eyes that, "How I'll react? Okay, Anna. Out with it. Tell me what's troubling you. Right now. I'm getting worried."
"For as long as I've known you, Kristoff, I have harbored…certain DESIRES for you," Anna began and his heart began to beat faster, knowing what she meant. "But every time I wanted to, I- I just can't. I can't take that step with you yet and- Please tell me you'll still love me."
That caused him to suddenly tear up but he blinked back his tears and caressed her head against his chest in a gentle hug to comfort her.
"I'll never stop loving you, Anna. My love is not fragile. I will NEVER force you to be intimate with me if you don't feel ready. I'm a patient man. I'll wait for as long as you need me to.
Anna looked up at him with a teary smile, "Really?"
"I just thought you were wanting to wait until after we were married," Kristoff confessed. He immediately turned red, realizing he just mentioned marriage to her.
Anna looked at him, "You- You want to get married with me?" She had no idea he was already thinking about marriage with her. This flooded her with so many warm emotions.
Kristoff looked embarrassed that he said that so soon, "I'd like to." His eyes looked away as he sighed then chucked nervously. "I was hoping to do this at a more appropriate time and make it far more romantic and special…for you. The only question is…" After smiling sheepishly and rubbing the back of his head. He pulled out a box and opened it to her, revealing a beautiful ring. "Will you marry me?"
Her face lit up before her lips crashed into his, "YES! YES! YES!"
He smiled when he heard her reply and slid the ring on her finger before she kissed him passionately and hugged him so tight.
Elsa had been secretly following them cloaked. She wanted to be there for Anna. She smiled seeing Kristoff propose to Anna as she spied on them from behind the tree while cloaked. She then left to find Donovan. There was something important she needed to tell him regarding her divinity. He had a right to know. She mentally and emotionally prepared herself for their conversation.
Donovan was working in the palace. Since the maids were so nervous about tending to the goddess's bedroom, Donovan had volunteered to keep it clean for Queen Anna's special guest. Elsa had no problem finding him and smiled as she watched him. She hardly had anything in her room since it was an extra guest room. There were no clothes since Elsa preferred to make her own. The only furniture in there was a bed, even though Elsa revealed she never needed sleep. There was also a nice wooden rocking chair that Anna insisted she have. Elsa came to enjoy rocking in it at night. Also by the window was a small writing desk with a small stack of royal stationary and a pen. Elsa questioned Anna who she would write. Anna says she could write her and then Elsa asked back why she would do that when they lived right next to each other and could easily just talk. Anna pouted that she was no fun.
Elsa finally spoke up, "I don't know why Anna insists on keeping my room clean. With my powers, it's already as clean as it'll ever be. No need to put extra work on your shoulders."
Donovan smiled as he looked over his shoulder at her, "I don't mind, Elsa. I'm pretty active. I'd lose my mind if I didn't keep my hands busy."
"Oh?" Elsa teased by raising an eyebrow. "Is that a fact?"
This made Donovan turn red and quickly look back at the work he was doing. "Y-y-yes. Yes, it is."
Finally, he completed. "Okay. That's it. I'll leave so you can have the room to yourself."
He headed towards the door where she stood, but she halted him with her hands on his chest. "Wait, I need to tell you something. There's something else you need to know about my divinity. Something very important…that may affect us."
Donovan immediately went pale, assuming the worst. Of course. She's immortal and I'm not. "Are you…wanting to break up with me, Elsa?"
Elsa strokes his face, "I'm divine and that means that I can't throw relationships away so easily. I'm yours for as long as you'll have me, but the choice is ultimately yours." She walked past him to sit on the edge of her bed.
Donovan was very confused and quickly turned to her, "Up to me? What do you mean?"
Elsa invited him to sit by her on the bed by silently patting the spot next to her. He hesitantly came over and looked at her, dreading where this conversation was going. Is she annoyed by me? Does she want ME to break it off with her?
Elsa looked into his eyes. "My divinity comes with an absolute rule, placed by my father to protect the natural order of things in this world. This world doesn't belong to me. I am not supposed to have dominion over it as humans do, since it belongs to them. I am merely a provider…a servant of humanity. My only dominion is on Ahtohallan." She could see that Donovan was still confused by what she was getting at so she got to the point. "I cannot have children, Donovan. Pleasure is one thing but reproduction is not possible for me. That is an unbreakable rule that I must abide by as a goddess. If my divinity was to multiply, that would conflict with the natural order of your world."
Donovan then understood and brought up, "I remember Anna telling me all about your past. You once had a husband and a child."
Elsa nodded, "That is correct. I broke my father's one rule by becoming mortal in order to have a baby with Jack. Pitch, my brother and enemy, used this information to inflict humanity with fear. Several leaders invaded to kill me and my family out of fear that I was attempting to take over the world by having a child. Pitch used that fear to manipulate them and since I allowed myself to become mortal, my once purity had become tainted with humanity's fallen condition. I betrayed humanity and slaughtered so many to avenge my Jack and Olaf. Even though my divinity is restored, what I have experienced as a mortal will always be a part of me."
Donovan was silent as he processed this. Hearing it from Elsa's perspective revealed much more. "Donovan?" He looked back at Elsa.
"I know how important it is to humans to produce an offspring. It's how your species live on and thrive in the world. I therefore will not fault you if you decide you want a child and decide to be with another. Knowing I can NEVER give you a child…would you still want to be with me and love me?" Elsa asked. Donovan was about to answer but her hand covered his mouth. Why do you torture yourself, Elsa? Let him answer. "Your future is too important, Donovan. You have a duty to your family and to your species. Don't be so quick to throw that all away. Take time to consider your decision very carefully before you tell me your answer. Until then…we shouldn't see each other. I don't want to influence your decision. When you have your answer, come find me at my Ice Palace on North Mountain."
Donovan's heart ached as Elsa tenderly kissed him goodbye and left him alone in the room. As Elsa walked down the hallway from her room, her heart broke and tears ran down her cheeks. She had to prepare herself to let him go if he decided to fulfill his duties as a human. She could only do that by getting as far as she could from him.
Donovan had to report this to Anna after noon. Anna being Anna, she and Kristoff left Arendelle to speak to Elsa after two weeks of isolation in her palace of ice. It was starting to become night ss Anna and Kristoff approached the large doors, they thought hard about how to comfort her. Anna completely understood Elsa's reasons. "Hey," Anna pulled him aside. "We should keep our engagement a secret. With what's happening between her and Donovan, I fear it might upset her."
"Surely she already knows," Kristoff said. "It's Elsa."
"I know her, Kristoff. If she knew, she would have said something to congratulate us or something," Anna replied, "Since she's been silent for this long, I don't think she knows."
"Okay, we'll keep it a secret," Kristoff agreed. Anna took the ring off and hid it in her pocket so Elsa wouldn't notice. Before she could knock, the door opened for them. They entered slowly. They stopped in the center of the round room that looked like a lobby. "Elsa?!" Anna called. There was nothing but silence. She looked at Kristoff with worry. He looked up and gestured her to do the same.
Anna saw Elsa walk down the upper stairs from the top of her palace and then down the second floor's steps to them. She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, still looking down until she finally looked them. "Why are you two here?"
Anna smiled, "You know why, Elsa."
Kristoff had his arm resting on Anna's upper back and holding her right shoulder. "Anna and I talked to Donovan. He told us everything."
The pain in Elsa flared in her eyes, "There's nothing to talk about. Please, leave." She turned away and took a step back up the stairs.
"Elsa, wait," Anna said and Elsa froze. "I know you're hurting. I can feel it. Please let us help you, Elsa."
Elsa turned, "Help?! How can you help me, Anna?!"
Anna was startled by Elsa's upset tone, but Kristoff joked to try and ease the situation, "Well, Anna can order him to choose you. Can't say no to the Queen, am I right?" He laughed, but awkwardly stopped when Elsa and Anna both looked at him. "Sorry."
Elsa sat down on the bottom steps. Anna and Kristoff sat on both sides of her. "No. He has to be the one to choose. It's his future priorities on the line. They are more important than me."
Anna tried to comfort her, "Elsa-"
Elsa quickly held up a hand to halt her from speaking, "Anna, please. It has to be this way. He'll come to me once he decides, but who am I kidding?" Her voice becoming shaky, "We know what he's going to choose."
"You don't know that yet," Kristoff tried to assure her.
Elsa turned to face them, "Of course I do! I could be interfering with his destiny by denying him children. For all I know, it is Donovan's destiny to be with Lila and have beautiful children." She was starting to tear up. Anna and Kristoff were silent. Elsa stood to face Anna and take her hand, "If that is Donovan's choice…I will be returning to Ahtohallan. With my powers restored, I can restore the paradise it once was. I can't remain here and watch him be with someone else."
Anna was quick to stand and try say something, but Elsa put her hand on her lips. "I won't abandon you or Arendelle. If you EVER need me, all you have to do is call me." She hugged Anna when she saw tears building in the young Queen's teal eyes. "I love you so much, Anna. I owe you a debt that I can never repay, but I'm going to try for the rest of eternity. As long as Arendelle still stands, I will be for it. If the kingdom ever crumbles to the change of time…I will stand by your decedents until the end of time."
She continued hugging Anna as Anna cried. Elsa pulled away with a smile and held Anna's engagement ring in front of her face and asked with such perfect fake ignorance, "What's this?"
Kristoff wrapped his arm around Anna and smiled, "I have asked Anna to marry me. Thank you, Elsa, for giving me your blessing."
Anna looked at them both, "Wait, what? When did you ask Elsa for her blessing? How long were you thinking about marriage?"
Kristoff and Elsa just smiled at each other. "That's our little secret," Elsa said. The two recalled the day Elsa made the bracelet for Kristoff and the secret blessing she gave him as she charged him to love Anna, to protect her, and always care for her.
"Come on, someone tell me," Anna demanded and Kristoff and Elsa just laughed as they both hugged Anna and the three had a group hug for the next several minutes.
"We better head back, Anna, or Kai and Lord Peterssen will lecture me about keep you from your duties," Kristoff said.
"Those old stiffs need to chill," Anna grumbled before Kristoff guided her away.
Elsa suddenly had a question and pulled Anna to the side. Kristoff nodded when Anna gave him a look and he went outside to wait for her in his wagon. Once Elsa and Anna were alone, Elsa asked, "How is he?"
"You have divine sight, Elsa. See for yourself," Anna playfully poked her nose before leaving.
Elsa nervously rubbed her hands before looking and finally found Donovan in his home, but was horrified by what was happening.
"Why do you hate Elsa?! What did she ever do to you, Mother?!" Donovan demanded.
"You know why and yet you throw yourself at that- that- that witch!" his mother Frey yelled back.
"She's NOT a witch!" Donovan yelled louder. Elsa never saw him this angry before.
"How can you claim to love her after what she did to this family?!" Frey questioned.
"Mama. Big Brother. Please stop fighting," his little sister, Sara, begged. Their grandmother held Sara close to comfort her.
"What she did?! She hasn't done anything to wrong us!" Donovan continued to defend her.
"She killed your father!" Frey hissed.
There was only silence. Elsa was shocked by this. Elsa recalled Anna mentioning the death of his father during their talk about Donovan in Anna's office. Then Donovan mentioned his father at the Ball. No, there must be some mistake!
"No! You're wrong!" Donovan yelled back.
"She cursed this kingdom! Your father became sick and died because of the winter she brought down on all of us!" Frey replied coldly.
Elsa couldn't watch anymore. She turned her gaze away and fell to her knees in grief. The conversation continued without her watching.
"Enough! Both of you! We are a family! My Arkyn wouldn't want to see this family at each other throats!" the grandmother snapped. "Both of you sit down. There's something important about Arkyn you need to know. I said sit!"
Frey sat in a chair and Donovan hesitantly sat in the chair on the opposite side of the table. Grandmother Helga continued to hold Sara in her lap. "We mustn't blame Goddess Elsa. He was sick BEFORE she cursed the land years."
Frey refused to accept this. "Don't lie to defend her, Mother! Arkyn-"
"If you knew your husband, MY SON, as well as I knew him, then you would know how proud he is, Frey. I saw him coughing up blood a week before Elsa came. He said he didn't want to be anyone's burden and made me promise not to say anything. He wanted to take care of this family first before himself," Grandmother Helga confessed, "If only I ignored him and told you, Frey, he'd still be alive. If ANY of you wish to blame or hate anyone for Arkyn's death, hate me."
Frey was in denial with what her mother in-law shared. There was no way. She had to be lying. Frey had been blaming Elsa for the loss of someone she loved and she couldn't receive what she had been told. So shocked by this news, she got up and leaned against the nearby door frame, trying to process all this. Sara went over to hug her mother and Frey accepted willingly. Donovan went over to his grandmother, "No one blames you or hates, Grandmother. Father was always a proud man. I remember him teach me since a young age that asking for help was a sign of weakness. He also taught me how to be selfless. That was how he raised me and I grew into a hardworking man because of that. I'm grateful he was my father. I wish he was still here."
Grandmother Helga hugged her sad grandson back and smiled gratefully, "He would be so proud of you and your sister."
Donovan gave her a kiss on the head before pulling away and heading for the door to leave.
"Where are you going?" Frey demanded.
"I made my decision. I love Elsa and I'm going to find her and tell her I choose her. I can't live my life without her," Donovan left quickly.
Freya sent Sara to play before she sat beside her mother in-law. Helga rested her wrinkled hand on her's and Frey sighed, "Stubborn just like his father. What does he see in her?"
Helga just chuckled. "He's a young man. She's a beautiful young woman. Surely you haven't forgotten what it was like to be young, Frey."
Freya hissed, "Shut up, Mother." Helga just giggled back.
Donovan ran for the stables and took Queen Anna's horse, Kjekk. Asking for permission hadn't even entered his mind since seeing Elsa again was all he could think about. The workers in the stable yelled after him, but he didn't even acknowledge their loud protests.
Elsa was on the floor, weeping over the consequences of her actions. Even though she was free from Pitch, she was still being tormented by her sins. She desperately wished that she could return his father to him to help right the wrong she unintentionally brought upon his family. There were too many tears she couldn't speak. Donovan…he'll NEVER forgive me!
She was startled to her feet when she heard knocking on the door. "Elsa! It's Donovan! I have to talk to you!" Donovan?! No, I can't face him now! He'll be furious with me! I can't face him! Not after what I've done!
"Elsa!" Donovan yelled again outside.
Please, go away! It was Elsa's voice. She sounded upset. I saw your fight with your mother! She said I am responsible for your father's death!
Donovan's heart fell in his chest. She saw the fight but didn't know about what his grandmother shared. He had to tell her. "But you didn't! Please let me in and read my mind! Please, I love you, Elsa!" Donovan called from his side of the door.
Don't say that! Don't tell me you love me! You CAN'T love me! Donovan had to show Elsa the truth. He began to push the large doors. The doors could only be opened by Elsa's will. That was how she made them on Ahtohallan and here. However, straining against the weight, it miraculously slowly submitted to his desire to see Elsa and opened for him. Some force allowed him to enter despite Elsa not wanting him to enter.
Elsa tried to back away from him as he approached, she came to a halt when she bumped into the wall. "Please, Donovan. Don't come closer!" Grief for a murder she didn't commit was eating her alive, so Donovan ignored her and rushed to her and caressed her face. He was so close as he looked into her eyes.
You didn't kill my father. He was sick before you cursed Arendelle. He wanted to put the rest of us before him. He died by his own accord. You are innocent, Elsa! You didn't do anything to my father.
Elsa calmed very slowly as she processed this, "I- I didn't?"
Donovan shook his head no.
Donovan hugged her seeing her pale face stained with her tears. It dawned on her that Donovan was there with her in the Ice Palace and she remembered their last words. She pushed him away and demanded fearfully, "Why- Why are you here?!" She dreaded the answer she feared he was there to deliver.
"I made my decision, Elsa," Donovan answered with a straight face. He tried to step closer.
Elsa held her hand out to halt him, "No, don't come closer. I already know. You chose to leave."
"What? No. I chose to stay with you," Donovan said, stepping closer to the one he loved.
Her wide eyes immediately locked onto his. She began to shake her head, unable to believe him. "No. No, you couldn't. I can't give you a child…yet you-" Despite being a goddess, her divine mind couldn't comprehend this mortal's logic. "You…chose me? You gave up having a child in your future…to be with me?"
He was finally in her space and replied softly, "Yes, Elsa. I. Choose. You."
"Why- Why would you-" He placed her hands on his chest to halt his advancement. "You foolish mortal! Why would you that?!" Her eyes were tearing up again.
Donovan stroked her tears away before caressing her sad face in his gentle hands, "I love you. Why is it so hard for you to believe me? Do you doubt me that much, Elsa?"
Elsa was silent from guilt, because her answer was yes. She did doubt his declaration. It didn't make sense for him to choose her over having children of his own kind one day. He was sacrificing FAR too much for her and she didn't feel like she deserved it. After everything she had done, how can she be worthy of happiness or the love of a simple mortal?
Her silence betrayed the truth and it made his heart go heavy. After all the time they spent together, she didn't believe he truly loved her? He had to prove himself to her to convince her his love was not fake. He had to do it and he had to do it now. The urgency of this task caused his body to act without hesitation.
Elsa's eyes widened when he began to kiss her lips. Her startled hands tried to remove his from her cheeks, but he pressed himself into her body and his lips kissed her's more deeply. Donovan, what are you doing?
You've done so much for me and others. It's time I return the favor and do something for you. I'm going to destroy your doubt in me, Elsa, by SHOWING you my love.
Elsa's body became tense, her breath became shaky, and her heart beat began to quicken from his incredibly bold declaration. Her eyes widened with realization. Is he going to-?!
Muffled by his lips, she moaned loudly as his determined hands reached down and gripped her rear firmly. Feeling his fingers dig into her soft flesh through her divine dress, caused her to almost blackout from the pleasure of the electricity that roared up her spine. A warmth traveled down to her core when she realized his member was swelling beneath his pants as it pressed against her. It got bigger and bigger with each anxious and desperate twitch underneath his pants. His arousal caused her to become aroused between her legs as well. Her face reddened as she bit down on her lower lip, squeezing her thighs together to quell the heat.
As he continued to feast on her soft lips with passionate kisses, Donovan opened his eyes to see her breaking down from his actions. He remembered her earlier comment. Pleasure is one thing but reproduction is not possible for me. His eyes became more determined than ever as they stared briefly at Elsa with hungry eyes. They were the eyes of a lion gorging on a helpless gazelle. For the first time in his life, Donovan unleashed the primal desires he always had as a young man yet was forced to keep reined in until this very moment.
Elsa deserved this kind of intimacy. She deserved to be loved and desired. When she revealed her inability to have a baby, he was moved to tears inside, because he saw her for the person she truly was. She was a good, selfless and caring woman but was all alone in the world. Despite the flawless beauty she possessed, he couldn't help but finally notice she was deep down broken and covered with horrifying scars inside and out. Since Elsa couldn't have a baby, he went for the next way to make her feel loved and desired. She desperately needed this and he doubt even she was aware of this.
He suddenly lifted her into the air with his hands, still kneading her firm rear with his grip with gentle slow squeezes as he held her against the wall. His lips pulled away from Elsa's trembling lips and moved down to her flawless neck where his teeth bit the flawless and sensitive skin. Elsa's hands ran through his dark hair and she moaned and gasped with painful pleasure while his teeth and lips sent more shivers through her body.
Tears threatened to escape her closed eyes. She never felt such passion inside or against her body since Jack and that was centuries ago. Her skin became riddled with goosebumps by his actions. She knew Donovan's intentions. He desperately wanted her to believe he loved her and wanted to mend her wounds with his passionate intimacy. She refused to stop him, because she never wanted it to end.
Donovan carried her from the wall. Their lips kept kissing one another with a fierceness. Donovan's hands transitioned from her firm voluptuous rear to her toned and firm back. Elsa's dress hanged off her as her legs wrapped around his hips while her arms around his neck, firmly holding herself as close to his face as much as possible. She desperately wanted to keep close proximity to him so much her heart ached with desire. Her desire caused her to press against his hips with her warm core tightly. The sudden contact of his incredibly hard and swollen shaft and her womanhood bumping through their clothing caused her to tremble violently and gasp.
Donovan's hands carefully held her back and the back of her head as he knelt and lowered her onto the cold floor of the Ice Palace. Their nervous eyes met and stared with such longing. Elsa ached from Donovan pulling away from her, but watched with curiosity as he got on his hands and knees above her. The love in his eyes as he looked down at her was too much. Next, Donovan began to remove his clothes before her eyes, shocking her with his exposed body. It was the first time she ever saw him naked. He appeared before her with nothing to hide his naked body from her longing gaze. She took her time to admire his body. His skin had more color than her pale skin and her piercing gaze took in every detail. A freckle here and there on his body. He had a lean build. He wasn't too muscular but his body was definitely used to hard work. She could see the signs of his hard work beneath his skin, ripping and randomly flexing, revealing toned muscle and some veins that stood out on his arms and abs. Her eyes traveled down, she beheld and marveled at his swollen shaft that twitched in the coldness, eager for her.
The tension was soaring as she met his eyes again and their breathing both became increasingly heavy. Suddenly, his lips kissed her's with more passion than before. Pleasure shot through her body as his teeth seized her luscious bottom lip and pulled away with it. Her gasp caused him to mercifully release her lip from his teeth and his lips and teeth traveled down the side of her neck to her exposed shoulder.
Her left hand caressed the back of his head as she bared the crippling sensations his love bites brought her. Again, he pulled away. She was confused by why he was stopping. No. He looked into her blue eyes with a hungry intent. The goddess trembled, intimidated by the look in his eyes, because she knew Donovan was far from over with her. He was just getting started. "Elsa," he whispered.
"Donovan," she whimpered. The sexual tension she felt was so intense. "I know why you're doing this, Donovan. You don't have to do this just to prove something to me. Just to make me feel-"
"Yes. Yes, I do," he replied. She was so focused on his intense eyes and his hungry lips that she didn't realize that he was repositioning himself. Her eyes suddenly widened when she felt his hand graze up her inner thigh, under her long dress. She was forced to seize his shoulders as his fingers began to gently rub her slit and clitoris. Elsa had to grip his shoulders harder in order to bear the pleasure she felt, but she couldn't. She had to hold back with her greater strength or risk hurting him. That was the very last thing she wanted to do.
The warmth she felt in her core from his mere touch began to affect the rest of her by raising her body temperature. It also frightened her. She didn't have her powers the last time she experienced this. Donovan would be in danger if she didn't contain herself and hold back. Her eyes closed shut tightly as frustrated tears escaped her closed eyes. She loved what was happening, what Donovan was doing to her, but she was too afraid. One of her hands grabbed the hand he was using to rubber her womanhood. "Donovan, please! Stop!"
She didn't see him, but she felt him get closer, closer enough that her ear felt his warm breath as he comforted her with a whisper, "Don't be affair." She whimpered with fear. "Open your eyes. Open your eyes, so I can see YOU." Her eyes opened showing him her fear. "Don't be afraid, Elsa," Donovan said softly.
"I don't know what will happen. I- I could hurt you," she replied with a shaky voice.
He stroked her face before kissing her forehead. "Everything is going to be okay. I trust you. Trust yourself. Trust in me," he encouraged with a soft and gentle whisper.
After a moment or two, she hesitantly nodded her head. She was still frightened by taking this step with Donovan, but she found comfort in his smile before he slowly continued. She thought to herself as she focused on his careful ministrations. He's right. Everything is going to be okay. Let it go, Elsa. Just…let it go. She surrendered to the sensations, allowing her to be present to experience…to feel.
This was Donovan's first time with anyone. His inexperience was starting to get in the way, but luckily, he overheard things from other conversations. He glanced at his right fingers before slowly inserting his index finger into her. Her head went back and her hips bucked when her inner walls felt the intruder inside her. Donovan's heart fluttered with euphoria, seeing the positive reaction from Elsa. He wanted to cause more reactions like that so he could please her. So, he experimented with his finger as he continued thrusting it into his girlfriend, alternating the speed and angle. His heart jumped when she suddenly howled with pleasure. A smile came across his face, seeing that he did something right to please Elsa. He added another digit before continuing. Her louder satisfied moans excited him and made him eager to go full speed, which made her panic and sit up.
Donovan panicked seeing her startled reaction, "I- I'm sorry, Elsa. Did I hurt you? Did I do something wrong?"
Elsa smiled and caressed his face. "No…just go slow. You don't need to rush."
Donovan nodded, taking a mental note.
Elsa's eyes fell onto his twitching swollen member. Her heart beated eagerly, taking in his impressive size and imagining what it would be like to feel him in her. She looked away before lying back down for him so he could continue. Elsa saw his nakedness and noticed she was still in her divine white dress. With a blush, she looked to the side as she silently commanded her dress to fade away.
Donovan's eyes went wide as he took in her magnificent nude figure. She had a perfectly slim hour glass shape worthy of a divine being. She glanced back and giggled lightly at his innocent reaction. "You going to stare all night, Donovan?"
He shook his head and smiled as he did as was instructed and continued to thrust into her wet folds. He kept thrusting his two fingers into her as he watched Elsa's reactions from in between her perfect thighs. Her eyes were shut tight. She was biting her lower lip to bear with the strong consuming feelings of pleasure that flooded her being. His eyes noticed the thin layer of sweat starting to appear on her abs and succulent looking breasts where her pink nipples become erect before his eyes. Seeing her body glisten with her sweat and riddled with goosebumps made her even more beautiful and pushed him to do even better.
As he continued, his brown eyes were drawn to her prominent breasts and toned abs. Enticed by the perfection he was beholding with mortal eyes, while thrusting with his right hand, he leaned closer and reached with his left hand.
Elsa watched him when she felt his hands touching her navel. Him rubbing slowly up and down before using his finger tips to rake her abs to intensify the sensation. Elsa was startled by the stronger sensations Donovan was inflicting on her body. It felt amazing. Despite this being his first time, he seemed to know enough to impress her. "Very- Very good- Ke- Keep going, Donovan." Elsa wasn't sure if she should tell him this. Since she was a goddess, she was more sensitive to such activities than a normal woman would be. Just the grazes of his touches brought her immense pleasure. Her freaking out by his sudden quick thrusting was partly why she reacted. If his fingers alone could make her panic- Elsa looked down at his member. Would she even survive feeling his large member in her? The thought made her very nervous.
Her praise filled him with happiness as he continued slowly. He then reached for one of her breasts and caressed it gently in his left hand as he rubbed it similarly as he did her abs, including light squeezes. Rubbing clit made her happy. So Donovan wondered if touching her erect nipples would please her. The touch of his fingers as they played with her nipples invoked a strong response from Elsa.
Elsa's fear from accidently hurting Donovan was drowned in so much arousal by everything he was doing to her. Elsa was going to lose it. After a few minutes under his careful yet unpredictable ministrations, Elsa was reduced to an aroused mess. She couldn't predict what he was going to do. Elsa's eyes widened. She could feel it coming. A familiar warmth worked its way down her stomach and to her searing core. "Donovan, I'm going to cum!"
Donovan became confused immensely by what he heard her say. He looked up at her, "You're going to come where? Where are we going?"
Before Elsa could laugh at his innocent ignorance and explain she was reaching her climax, she screamed and her body tensed from the convulsions that seized her. Donovan became so concerned seeing her in pain that he was caught off guard when a white liquid erupts from her opening and onto his hand.
Elsa panted heavily and was covered in her sweat. She looked up at Donovan with a smile as a pleasant haze of bliss clouded her mind. She saw him staring at the white liquid on his hand like he had no idea what it was. She giggled, "Are you okay?"
He quickly dropped his hand and came to her face with worried eyes, "Am I okay? Are you? That scream. I didn't hurt you, did I?"
The sweetness in his words made her quickly hide her face with her hands and squealed with laughter, "Yes. Yes, I'm okay." She saw him examining the fluid on his hand again as if clueless on what to do with it now. "Aren't you going to eat it?"
He stared at her in horror, "Elsa, that's gross! This was in you!"
"It's perfectly healthy for you," Elsa encouraged him, "Go ahead. Have a taste."
"How about next time," Donovan suggested with disgusted sarcasm before reaching for his shirt to try and wipe it off, but Elsa imprisoned his clothes in ice and giving him a playful look. "Your girlfriend demands it, Donovan. Your girlfriend is a nigh-omnipotent goddess. I encourage you NOT to provoke her."
Donovan took a deep breath as he looked from Elsa to his hand before licking a small amount of the white silky liquid. "It tastes sweet," he commented.
Satisfied, Elsa looked over at his shirt to free it so he could clean himself off, but was surprised when she looked back at him to see him finishing at licking his hand clean.
Elsa just smiled at him. As she observed humanity on their development, most people, at the age of twelve to fourteen, would normally be educated on the topic of sex and how a boy or a girl experience changes. Elsa was then reminded that Donovan, like Kristoff and many other young adults, had grown up under the Duke's tyranny and didn't have the education others had. She felt sad by this.
Donovan was about to stand up and get changed, but Elsa's hand grabbed his. He looked down at her, "Where are you going?" Elsa just smiled, "It's time for me to pleasure you."
Donovan's face went red as Elsa pulled him back down onto the floor next to her, "Wait, Elsa. Hold on."
"Come on," Elsa giggled, pushing him gently onto the floor so she can climb on top of him.
"I just wanted to pleasure you…to help you feel loved. Not to satisfy my own-," Donovan tried to explain, but was muffled by Elsa's tender lips as she leaned in and kissed him. Donovan was surprised by her kiss. There was something different that set her kiss apart from past moments they shared. It was more intimate, more loving. As Elsa continued to kiss him, her hand sneakily reached in between her legs behind her, where his still hard shaft waited with eager anticipation.
Donovan became startled when he felt her hand grip his erection, causing it to twitch and swell with arousal from the touch of her hand. "Elsa-" Again he tried to speak and again he was silenced by her lips which kissed him deeper. After a steamy kiss she whispered, "Thank you, Donovan…for what you did for me." Another kiss. "You have no idea how much it meant to me." A slightly longer and deeper kiss. "But that pales in comparison to bringing you pleasure." A kiss. "You did that to show you loved me." She began to guide his swollen member in alignment with her dripping core. "I kept you waiting long enough. Let me show you how much I love you."
She pulled away from his face slightly to look in his nervous brown eyes. Beneath her dripping womanhood waited his twitchy member that desperately wanted to plunge itself deep. Seeing Donovan's lengthy, thick member earlier made her gulp nervously. Can my body even allow-? There was only one way to find out. She owed it to Donovan to try and pleasure him as he did her. She loved him, but what they were about to do was going to change their relationship forever. There would be no turning back.
She looked up, taking a deep breath to prepare herself for the greater intrusion into her wet opening. She met his eyes again before slowly lowering herself. Her eyes widened and her mouth gapped with shocked gasps as she felt his thick member enter her inner walls. Thankful for the natural lubricant she ejaculated earlier, his throbbing member filled her perfectly. He was a great double-edged sword and she was its perfectly designed sheath. She was shocked so much by the pleasure she was feeling tat she tumbled on top of him and panted heavily to compose herself. She placed her hands on his toned chest to help steady her as she sat up, despite the intrusion she felt in her. Despite moving slowly, a groan escaped both of their clenched teeth.
She looked down at Donovan with amazement over what she was feeling. He too was on the edge, struggling with sensations as well with her walls tight around him. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before. She tried to sit up with his member inside her, but the sudden jolts of pleasure caused by him scraping the sides of her inner walls and gently poking her womb had caused her to almost fall down again. It took her a minute or two to get used to this.
"You- You okay?" Donovan asked.
Elsa looked down at him and smiled, touched by his concern. She giggled as she stroked his face with her hand. "I should be asking you that. Think you're going to make it?"
He was tense and groaned from how tight she felt, "No. God help me. I think I'm going to die."
Elsa blushed at his compliment and smiled. I feel the same way. Are you ready?
In her straddled position, Elsa lowered herself against his body to watch his eyes closely as she began to pull off his member slowly and then back on. Due to his size and her tight walls, both felt the consequences for moving even slightly, but Elsa bared it by slowly increasing her speed but without using her divine physical attributes for his sake. The ice around them glowed each time she thrust against him, reacting to her emotions. Seeing him come undone made her smile and she wanted to bring him more pleasure like he did for her. She remembered how he experimented with his technique. Now it was her turn. She varied how she thrusted against him, earning painful gasps and groans from Donovan. Speed. Angle. Seductive gyrations as she rolled her hips which enticed his hands to grip her breasts again and pinch her nipples in between two fingers.
Donovan stared into her blue eyes as she lovingly smiled at him and give him kisses on his lips and sweat covered face. "I think someone is ready to break," Elsa teased.
Donovan surprised her by sitting up and holding her in his arms. He positioned her so that he was on top again. "You're right. That someone is going to be YOU," he replied back boldly.
Her eyes widened and she didn't have time to mentally prepare for the torture that was coming. At first, he started slow, but that wasn't enough for him. He was so aroused by how perfect she was that he gradually increased the speed and how hard to thrust into her. He thrusted into her fast and hard. Each thrust went all the way in and banged against her sweet spot. She gripped his arms for support and raked her finger down his shoulders and chest, knowingly causing him to thrust even faster. After what seemed like an eternity, both finally came. Elsa gasped when she felt his manhood pump her full of his steaming seed.
Exhausted, Donovan pulled out of her and his sweaty body collapsed close to her and she wrapped her arms around him to hug him close. "Thank you, Donovan…I love you." Saying those three words to him finally filled her with happiness as she caressed his sleeping body. Against her breasts.
Donovan slept in perfect, deep bliss after that, but Elsa didn't want him to sleep in her cold Ice Palace. He would get sick. She took to the only place she could think of: her bedroom in the royal palace. She cuddled close to him in the bed Anna gave her. She didn't need sleep, so she just laid close to him, watching him sleep peacefully with much interest. He was a mortal, yet was able to make her truly feel something. She was so infatuated with Donovan that she couldn't stop watching as his chest slowly went up and down. She moved closer and rested her head on his chest and just teared up as she listened to his heart beat. After being incredibly intimate with each other, she felt so connected with him…so close. She whispered, "Can I keep you?"
Morning came and Anna was informed Donovan stole her horse. She, with two guards, went to his home and knocked on the door. His sister, Sara, answered the door. Her child face lit up with surprise, Anna smiled and greeted her, "Hi, Sara. Your brother has told me about you. Is your mother here?"
"Uh, MAMA!"
Anna nervously waited as she heard quick footsteps. Frey appeared in the door and bowed her head, "Your Majesty! To what I owe the pleasure of your visit?"
"It has been brought to my attention that Donovan stole my horse yesterday evening. He's not in trouble. I just need to know why," Anna assured.
"He went to go see Elsa," Sara answered, "He said he chose her."
Anna's face lit up, "Thank you for your help." She quickly turned back towards the palace, "We need to get back to the stables. I'll need to borrow a horse to get to the top of North Mountain."
Entering the stables upon returning, she saw that Kjekk was already returned. Anna noticed a bit of frost on the horse's stable door. Elsa's here!
She rushed back into the palace and ran for the guest room she gave to Elsa. Barging through the door, Anna became surprised by the sight of Elsa and Donovan in bed naked. Donovan became embarrassed and hid under Elsa's covers.
Anna looked at Elsa with wide eyes waiting for confirmation that what she thought happened between them actually happened. Elsa nodded happily as a blush came over her face. A look of disbelief came on Anna's face. Elsa bit her bottom lip as she raised her hands and placed them eight inches apart. Anna silently freaked out, but quickly composed herself, "I'm happy you both are safe. When you both have made yourselves…presentable, I'll be waiting for you in the parlor." Elsa nodded. Anna turned her gaze to the large bump under Elsa's blanket. "Okay, Donovan?"
"Ye-Yes, Your Majesty," his voice nervously answered.
Anna took once last happy look at Elsa before leaving the room. Elsa blushed immensely when she heard Anna squeal with happiness, "YES!"
Donovan peeked out from under the blanket, "Is she gone?"
Elsa smiled down at him, "She's gone. You can come out now." Donovan sat up closer to Elsa, "She's obviously going to give me a firm lecture about stealing her horse."
"You BORROWED," Elsa corrected.
"I took Kjekk without her permission, Elsa. That's called stealing," Donovan replied. He looked so worried, dreading the punishment he was surely going to receive.
"Hey," Elsa said softly, inching forward before kissing his lips slowly. She could feel him getting hard again. When she tried to grab it, Donovan instantly jumped out of the bed.
"We don't have time for that, Elsa! Queen Anna is waiting for us," Donovan exclaimed with a face redder than she ever seen it.
Elsa stood nude from her bed and instantly recreated her original divine dress. She looked over at Donovan who was frantically looking for his clothes. She smiled, "Coming?"
"I can't- I can't find my clothes," Donovan panicked. He looked at her, "Elsa, where are my clothes!"
"I…didn't bring them. I didn't want anything to stand between me and the feeling of your warm skin," she said flirtatiously. Donovan was about to blow up, but Elsa giggled and with the wave of her hand, she created a complete outfit for him. However, she looked unsatisfied. "No, that's not right." She created a nicer suit, "After last night, you deserve something nicer."
That statement made him blush again. Recalling the incredible time they shared the night before, made his heart race. He quickly headed for the door to escape his proximity to Elsa, which was causing him to become aroused again. Elsa smiled brightly, knowing this and followed.
Donovan felt embarrassed by the looks maids were giving him as he walked down the hall with Elsa by his side. She knew why they were staring, but she became concerned by how uncomfortable Donovan appeared from having all the attention. She gently interlaced her fingers with his and gave him an encouraging smile after he suddenly looked at her.
Before they knew it, both sat before Queen Anna. They sat on the couch while she stood like an intimidating parent. Elsa was still smiling, not worried one bit. Donovan on the other hand was shaking, intimidated by Queen Anna. "So-"
Donovan immediately interrupted and bowed his head, "Queen Anna, I deeply apologize for stealing your horse." Elsa was about to assure him it was okay, but Anna held up her palm to halt her so she could make Donovan sweat more. "I desperately needed to see Elsa again, but that doesn't excuse me taking Kjekk without your permission. I surrender myself for whatever punishment you decide." He kept his head bowed.
Elsa gave Anna a pleading look. Anna caved. "That's not why I summoned here, Donovan."
He looked up, "It's not?"
"It's not, but don't ever do it again," Anna smiled.
Donovan's head dropped and a sigh of relief escaped his mouth. Oh, thank God!
"I summoned you here because you and Elsa have been getting very close," Anna spoke, sitting between the two like a mother separating her innocent daughter from her horny boyfriend. Elsa smirked, seeing Anna do this.
"Y-Yes, Queen Anna. Yes, we have," Donovan answered back nervously.
"After what I saw in Elsa's bedroom," Anna glanced at Elsa before looking back at Donovan, "What are your intentions with MY Elsa?"
"Oh, Anna. Really?" Elsa spoke up.
Anna didn't face Elsa, but raised her hand to cover Elsa's mouth, "Hush, child. Mama's talking now."
Elsa rolled her eyes behind Anna's hand before removing it with her hand.
"I'm sorry you had to see that, Queen Anna. I'm a bit embarrassed, but I promise you that my intentions were- ARE noble," Donovan answered. "I love Elsa and I want to be with her forever."
Elsa gave him a blushing smile. She felt the same way.
As if satisfied, Anna dismissed Donovan, "Okay. You are dismissed, Donovan. I wish to speak with Elsa alone."
Donovan glanced worriedly at Elsa and Elsa gave a nod to assure him it was okay. Donovan stood and bowed to Queen Anna before walking out.
Anna's regal eyes remained on Donovan as he left. As soon as the door closed behind him, Anna quickly twirled to Elsa on the couch, "EIGHT FREAKING INCHES?!"
Elsa just giggled at Anna's reaction. "Yes, but try and keep it down. Don't want the whole Kingdom to know. Donovan is embarrassed enough. Let's keep it between us for his sake."
"Okay. Okay," Anna calmed some before asking, "Since you two have taken this step, then tell me about his family."
"Uh," Elsa froze.
Anna's smile faded, "Elsa. He DID introduce you to his family BEFORE-"
Elsa smiled a guilty smile.
"Honorable, he says! Yeah, right!" Anna yelled.
"Anna, it was my decision to hold off. I wanted to spend more time with him before we met with his family," Elsa defended, "He was respecting my wishes. As for what occurred in the Ice Palace last night, neither of us planned on that happening. It was my fault. I doubted him when he told me he loved me and he felt compelled to prove himself to me. What he did for me last night was special, Anna, and meant a lot to me. I assure you he is a good man."
Anna calmed, "Okay, I believe you. But, Elsa…I think it's time you meet with his family."
Elsa looked down at her hands in silence.
Some time has passed since the unexpected visit from Queen Anna to their home. Frey stood in the doorway of their home watching as Helga and Sara worked in the garden. Although Donovan's job and her's was adequate for providing for their family, Freya kept gardening for therapeutic. It brought her comfort to work in the garden. Frey began to tear up when she recalled precious memories from years ago. She quickly turned away from outside, closing the door some and sat at the small kitchen table and resting her saddened face in one of her hands. There she gently released her pain and tears, causing her body to shake slightly.
Frey's eyes were drawn to the front door as it creaked open slowly. It was just the wind. She slowly began to doubt herself as she more and more became aware of something cautiously approaching her. Frey's eyes widened very slightly with realization. "Is that- Is that you?"
Helga's rocking chair nearby shifted towards her and creaked from the weight of something sitting on it.
Frey sat up straighter and the tone of her voice went up to express anger, "Show yourself. Show me the face of the one that brought pain upon this kingdom, this family. Show me the face of the one who turned my son against me."
Elsa slowly revealed herself in the rocking chair, looking down. Finally, she looked up and met the weary, yet angry eyes of Donovan's mother.
Frey saw how beautiful her visitor was and immediately understood how her son fell under her spell, but she maintained her angry scowl. "So that's what you look like, monster." The cold statement caused Elsa to shiver slightly but had to bury her emotions to earn the woman's trust.
"The woman you call monster died, Frey. My name is Elsa," Elsa spoke calmly to show she wasn't affected.
"Giving the monster a name doesn't make it any less a monster," Frey scoffed before standing suddenly and walking to the other side of the room just to get away from her.
Elsa inhaled deeply. Elsa wasn't angered by Frey's words. Frey was suffering because of loss and needing to pin blame on someone for her suffering. However, Elsa had to choose her words carefully to not antagonize Frey. "There have never been truer or wiser words ever spoken," Elsa replied.
Freya turned around, even angrier, feeling like she was being mocked. Elsa continued, "My brother may have played a role, but it was me who hurt others. It was my mouth, my powers. I can't blame him for what. I realize, Frey, how much I have wronged this kingdom and I want to fix my mistakes by being the woman my father intended." Elsa looked up and saw Frey looked less angry so she stepped closer to her and took her hand gently in her's. "I want to start fixing my mistakes by starting with you. If you'll allow me."
Frey's expression softened. Each second made it harder to hold onto her hate for Elsa, but despite what she learned from Helga, her heart was still bitter and unforgiving after more than ten years of pain. However, she felt something crack inside. Freya was startled by it and sat back down at the table. Tears threatened to spill out of her eyes, "What are you doing with me?"
Elsa came over and stood behind her, "I'm not doing anything. That's your body wanting to be free from your pain. You lost someone you loved very much. I lost someone too. I can understand your pain more personally than you can. It was that pain that turned me cold and bitter for countless years."
"You don't look like you're in pain," Frey commented. Elsa came around to sit across from her. "How did you heal?"
"I'm still healing," Elsa confessed. "I'm still struggling with my past, but healing was only possible when I met Anna. She filled a void in my heart. She and Donovan." Frey looked at Elsa for mentioning Donovan. "Thank you for bringing someone as kind and caring into the world." Elsa noticed the way Frey was looking at her and felt awkward. "I should leave you be. I just wanted to say that." Elsa stood and walked to the door to leave, but before she could, she froze when Frey spoke.
"He loves you." Elsa turned back. Frey looked at her, "Do you love him?" Elsa smiled and nodded. Freya looked back down at her hands on the table. "I hear it in his voice, the way he defends you." Elsa came back over to Frey. "He's so much like his father. I wish he could be here and see his son all grown up."
Elsa sat down across from her and placed her hand on her's. "Tell me about his father. Please?" She listened as Frey shared her past.
"I was twelve when I first met Arkin. My family had a small far. We would all work together to grow crops. Father and my uncle would do the plowing with the only horse we had. Mother and I would talk about woman things as we went through the field. We would rip out weeds, remove bad crops, collect the good ones when harvest came upon us," Frey smiled as if comforted by past memories, "We would keep some of the harvest for ourselves and then sell the rest at the produce shop on the Mark Square. That's where I caught the attention of my best friend, whose idea of showing he liked me was through pranks. I would occasionally bump his noggin, but that never seemed to discourage him. As the years passed, I could see that he was becoming romantically interested in me. I slowly reciprocated those feelings." Frey pointed at a painting on a wall.
Elsa knew the young woman in the painting was Frey at around twenty years old. Frey continued, "One day, I looked up from working in the field and saw him painting. He wasn't very rich, but I wasn't interested in such things. Instead of a ring, he presented his painting of me and asked me if I would marry him. How could I refuse such a romantic proposal?"
Frey became shocked by how much she had shared with Elsa, but when she looked up, Elsa was gone. She heard a noise behind her and saw Elsa…doing dishes? "What- What are you doing?"
Elsa had her dress's sleeves rolled up so she could work. Elsa looked at her over her shoulder, "I hope you don't mind, but I thought I'd give you a hand." She turned her attention back to the dishes, "Hmm. Your description of your husband reminds me of Jack. He too had a mischievous side to him."
Frey was moved by this but masked it well with criticism as she joined Elsa's side at the sink. "Move over. You're doing it wrong. Give me the rag and I'll teach you how to properly clean dishes, Goddess. Here's a towel so you can dry and put away." Elsa smiled, taking the towel.
Back at the palace, Anna kept Donovan busy with extra tasks. She knew where Elsa was, but wasn't sure how Donovan would react hearing his mother was talking to Elsa. This was an important time for Elsa, so Elsa secretly asked Anna to keep him busy. Anna was willing, but hoped Donovan wouldn't see through her plan. Donovan was only required to be there when the day's schedule was very busy. Other days, Donovan had the day off. Today was one of those days, but Anna told him stuff came to her attention that needed his care. Donovan didn't complain and happily took on whatever tasks.
Anna was desperate to come up with another task. Donovan was about to dismiss himself, "Wait, you can't go home! Elsa told me to keep you distracted-" She regretted saying Elsa's name.
"Elsa is talking to my mother?!" Donovan asked before taking off before Anna could stop him. He ran as fast as he humanly could all the way home. The thought of Elsa and his mother in the same room chilled him to the bones. Elsa, I'm coming! Hold on!
He nearly burst through the front door, but halt with confusion at the sound of laughter. His mother. Little sister. Grandmother. All were sitting at the kitchen table laughing. Elsa stopped when she saw Donovan looking at her, "Donovan! You're here."
"No thanks to you and Anna," Donovan replied, revealing he knew about their plan. Elsa smiled with guilt.
"Now, Donovan. That's no way to talk to your lovely girlfriend," Helga said.
Sara ran from Elsa's side, "Look, Donovan. Elsa braided my hair like her's and she didn't even touch my hair! Don't I look pretty?!"
Donovan looked at Elsa was stifling a giggle before looking back down at his nine-year-old little sister. "Y-yeah, sure. You look very pretty."
"Your sister and I have an understanding that she's my decoy if I want to escape crowds," Elsa joked, "Right, Sara?"
Sara turned to her and held up her thumb, "Right, Elsa!"
Donovan looked back up at Elsa, "Elsa? We have to leave. We'll be late for that party in the palace." Elsa knew instantly he was lying, just so anxious about her being there meeting his mother that he was trying to smoothly get her away.
Elsa through him under the verberial wagon, "Donovan. Are you trying to fib to your family just to get me away from your loving family?"
His family all looked at him. "Is this true, Big Brother?" Sara asked that with such an adorable face and whimpering voice, along with big brown puppy dog eyes.
"Haven't I raised you better than that?" Frey chided Donovan.
"He just doesn't want us embarrassing him in front of Elsa with his baby stories," Helga giggled.
Elsa's interest spiked and her face lit up, "Ooh! Baby stories? I'd love to hear those."
Donovan immediately rushed to her side and held her shoulders, trying to guide her outside, "No you don't. Let's go."
His mother began to beat him with her used towel, "You go pull some weeds so we can enjoy Elsa's company more."
Donovan yelled, "You pull some weeds!"
"Donovan! Never back talk your mother," Elsa said firmly.
"I'm liking her more and more," Frey said with a smile.
Donovan groaned before leaving so he wouldn't have to hear his family share embarrassing baby stories with Elsa. Finally, taking pity on Donovan, Elsa excused herself to find Donovan sitting against a tree. She wormed her way in between his land and into his arms. Donovan held her. "You want to know what stories your family shared?"
Donovan covered her mouth and looked into her eyes, "I don't want to hear it."
"You're not mad at me, are you?" Elsa asked innocently. Donovan knew he would crumble if he looked her in the eye, so he purposely looked away to stay mad. Elsa smiled and inched towards him before slowly kissing his neck. She could feel his resolve to ignore her crumble, "El-Elsa, st-st- stop i-it."
Make me, Elsa challenged him.
Donovan grabbed her and began rolling with her on the ground making her laugh.
"Anna and Kristoff set a date for their wedding," Donovan shared with Elsa under him. "It was one of the things I overheard at work. Elsa said she wanted to talk to you."
"Obviously wanting me to give her away," Elsa smiled.
"Actually, she's either got Lord Peterssen or some harvester named Henrik doing that. She's still trying to decide. She wants you to be the Maid of Honor," Donovan replied.
Elsa was hurt to hear she wasn't giving Anna away at her wedding but she was moved to hear Anna wanted her to be her Maid of Honor. "Really?" Elsa smiled, "I'll make sure she gets the best bachelorette party ever. And Donovan? I'm sorry about what happened with your family. I didn't mean to embarrass you."
"They're family. What can I do? I want to walk you back to the palace," Donovan shrugged it off and smiled.
Elsa stood up, "I can walk there by myself."
"I wasn't asking," Donovan smiled back. Elsa took off and Donovan chased after her, making her laugh again.
(FLASHFORWARD, 6 months later)
Peace and prosperity have grown in the kingdom. The wedding between Queen Anna and an ice harvester named Kristoff occurred and was the grandest wedding the kingdom had ever witnessed. The people rejoiced that the Queen was with child. This kept things busy in the royal palace. Kristoff and other officials handled royal matters so Anna wouldn't be stressed. Kai and Donovan were kept on their toes to meet the Queen's hormonal labor demands. Elsa bared much of that and was able to keep things relatively calm for the servants' sake.
After reconciling with Donovan's mother, Elsa returned to her original purpose and helped people all over the world. Wars were stopped and other miracles were performed by Elsa. This not only caused her to become well known all over the world, but aided in the growth of Arendelle. Elsa moved in with Donovan in their nicer home. Sadly, Helga passed away with her family by her side. It was a sad time for them, but such was the way of life. Then that day happened.
"ARGH!" Anna screamed as she went into labor in a special room. Elsa remained by Anna's side and held her hand since only the goddess could handle Anna's monstrous strength. The doctor wasn't keen on Elsa being in there, but Anna nipped his attitude in the butt very quick. Elsa had to constantly struggle with not blocking Anna's labor pains since she hated seeing her suffer, but Anna insisted on no such help from Elsa. Elsa respected the wishes. There were maids in there to do whatever the doctor ordered. Elsa couldn't do anything except hold her hand and cheer her through it. She felt so helpless. She knew how dangerous pregnancies were so she secretly decided she was going to intervene only if Anna's life was at stake. However, that never came to pass because Anna was strong and got through the delivery, which relieved Elsa.
Elsa spoke to Kristoff's incredibly anxious and worried mind. He wanted to be there for her, but Gerda and the doctor wouldn't allow it. Elsa promised him she would be okay. Kristoff, come see your son.
Before Gerda could summon him, Kristoff entered quickly and came to Anna's side who was covered with sweat and panting. She was holding their son.
"Hey there little guy," Kristoff spoke. He tried making silly faces, but that only made the baby cry which made Anna and Elsa cry. "I didn't mean to scare him."
"I want to hold him," Elsa insisted and held the baby close.
Anna smiled with tears seeing how adorbable the sight of Elsa holding her baby was as Elsa talked gently to the newborn infant. "Come here, sweetie and Auntie Elsa will save you from the ugly troll, yes she will."
Kristoff shot her a look. This only caused Elsa to jab Kristoff more, "I'm so sorry you inherited you father's ugly face instead of your mother's pretty face."
"HEY!" Kristoff yelled.
Anna could only laugh as Kristoff and Elsa insulted one another.
Donovan suddenly asked the question no one asked yet, "What will his name be?"
Elsa held the baby close to Anna so Anna could see her baby better. Anna smiled, "I'm naming him Aren. After the founding ruler of Arendelle."
Kristoff smiled with agreement.
"A fitting name for the next king of Arendelle," Elsa complimented.
"Okay, Elsa. Give me back my baby," Anna ordered. Elsa didn't look like she wanted to but quickly handed the baby back to Anna. Elsa watched Anna hold the baby as Kristoff came close to her side. It reminded her of when Jack was alive and Olaf was born. Tears threatened to escape her eyes. She left suddenly. Anna became concerned but Donovan said he'd go after her.
Elsa exited the palace and went up to her Ice Palace. Whether or not she was aware Donovan was following her, he didn't know. Elsa went to the steps and went to her balcony on the top floor. There she collapsed with emotion and cried. Donovan stopped in the doorway and watched her cry before approaching her and tried to give her a hug. Elsa accepted instantly.
Donovan knew Elsa was sad because she was thinking about Olaf, her son from long ago. Elsa felt embarrassed and forced herself to stop crying, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," Donovan assured her as his arms around her hugged her more firmly. She was comforted by it. Donovan had an idea, "I know you told me that you can't have a baby, but…what about adopting as you did for Anna?"
"Adopting?" Elsa asked.
"You may not be able to carry ad give birth, but that isn't the only way to become a mother and have a child. The orphanage Anna made to care for children. They would all love to have a loving and caring mother like you," Donovan explained and the idea did intrigue Elsa inside. She did love raising Anna as her own on Ahtohallan. Being able to be a mother again with Anna was what helped her heal and find her way back.
"Your Created are still out there as well. You've redeemed yourself by righting your wrongs and doing what your father instructed. Reach out to them," Donovan encouraged.
Elsa looked in the direction of her balcony which gave her a view of the fjord joining the Southern Sea. "So many have been hunted by human champions of the past. They were seen as evil because my brother corrupted me and thus corrupted Ahtohallan and my Created. I felt them take their last breath. When they died to old age or fatal wounds, their spirits returned and become one with me again. What they have learned has become my knowledge. This world will never receive my Created. They will always be seen as the monsters of myth that need to be eradicated."
"How do you know? Arendelle once feared you. The world once feared you. The world accepts you. They can learn to accept you," Donovan hugged her from behind as she stood by the balcony.
"The world only receives me because I'm more human than my Created," Elsa explained, "My Created don't get that chance in the world."
"Then call them. Start here. Bring them to Arendelle. Bring them home," Donovan whispered in her ear.
Elsa's eyes slowly glowed and she reached out with her divine powers. My Created. Nothing I say can reconcile my wrong to you. I have neglected you and allowed you to perish. I speak to you not as your Queen, but as your Mother. If you will forgive me…return to me. Elsa's eyes changed normal and she waited, seeing if any would respond to her call. With tears in her eyes, she was about to turn away, but looked back when she suddenly heard the answer of her Created.
I'm coming home.
Elsa looked to Donovan and quickly hugged him, overwhelmed with happiness. She thought she was alone but he showed her time and time again that she wasn't. Her eager lips found his. I love you, Donovan.
I love you, Elsa.
In the years that passed, Elsa's Created found refuge on North Mountain with Elsa. The people of Arendelle with patience had come to receive them as they had Elsa. Elsa not only continued her father's purpose, but acted on Donovan's suggestion. She took charge of the orphanage. Children who were discarded or abandoned had come to accept Elsa as their mother and she, her children. Under her care, they found healing because they knew they were loved. Elsa felt a happiness that she feared she could never have again. She was free. She was home.
(A/N: We'll we've arrived. Thanks for reading this story. I hope you liked it. As I mentioned before, after the completion of this story, I would shift my attention to The Pale Knight in order to finish the final few chapters so that I could return to Royal Orphan. Someone asked if I would be willing to do a sequel for this story. Let me know in your reviews if you would love to see a sequel that explores Elsa's life in Arendelle after this ending. See you around.)
