Chapter 65 Sea Star Tournament Part 2
Now there are only 8 trainers left in the tournament, and Ash is ready for his fourth match.
Ivan: Alright. It's time for your fourth battle. Ash.
Peach: ON THE LEFT WE HAVE ASH KETCHUM, THE UNDERWATER HOTEL HERO! ON THE RIGHT WE HAVE BRUTUS, THE RECENTLY APPOINTED-
Ivan: (Annoyed) Peach, for the tenth time, no one's supposed to know about that yet.
Peach: Oh, right. Sorry, but it's just cool! Anyway...BEGIN!
Lillie: (Notice the guy that is going to battle Ash) I think I have seen him in Virima Library before...
Crolea: Really? You mean you met him before meeting me and Delicia?
Lillie: But we didn't meet and talk.
Brutus: (Looks at Ash) I remember you from Virima Library. I didn't know you'd be this interesting.
Ash: (Shrugs) Well, I usually get caught up in some disasters, don't ask me why.
Brutus: Then show me your strength, I'll go with Tractor.
The first Pokemon Brutus sends out is Gogoat, and Ash goes for Toxtricity to battle.
Ash: Use Poison Jab!
Toxtricity goes for the attack, but Gogoat has been using Milk Drink to heal itself, until Gogoat gets poisoned. Toxtricity is defeated after Gogoat goes for Bulldoze, so Ash goes for Charizard as his next Pokemon. With the Flamethrower and the Poison, Gogoat is knocked out. The second Pokemon is a Falinks named Train, and it deals some damage to Charizard using First Impression, but Charizard is not going to lose badly as it uses Air Slash to knock out Falinks as well.
The third Pokemon is Golisopod named Ship, and Ash goes for Gardevoir, it is damaged a lot with the First Impression once again, but after Gardevoir uses Moonblast on Golisopod to deal much damage, it returns by using Emergency Exit, so Brutus' fourth Pokemon is Corviknight named Taxi, which defeats Gardevoir with Steel Wing. Ash sends out Boltund and it defeats both Corviknight and Golisopod. The fifth Pokemon is Kommo-o named MonsterT, and Ash goes for Goodra. Eventually, they both get a draw with the Bide and the Clanging Scales at the same time. And finally, the last Pokemon is Lucario named Car, and Ash goes for Pikachu to battle. Even though it is capable of using Bone Rush, Pikachu still defeats it with Thunderbolt.
Brutus: (Surprised at his loss) I was planning on at least making it to the finals...but I don't mind losing to you.
Ivan: Excellent work, Ash! Come back when you're ready for the semi-finals!
Ash is resting while healing is Pokemon once more, and after several battles later, it is time for the semi finals.
Ivan: Alright. It's time for the semi-finals. Ash.
Peach: ON THE LEFT WE HAVE ASH KETCHUM, THE UNDERWATER HOTEL HERO! ON THE RIGHT, WE HAVE CROLEA, DAUGHTER OF CEOLIS' STEEL-TYPE GYM LEADER ALUMIA! BEGIN!
Crolea: Whoever wins here makes it to the finals! Best of luck to both of us!
Lillie: (Mutters) Great, I am not sure who I should cheer, but Ash is my boyfriend, and it is obvious that girlfriend cheers for boyfriend.
Her first Pokemon is Ursa the Bewear, and Ash goes for Alakazam to battle. Bewear manages to deal a lot of damage using Brutal Swing, which is super effective, and Return, considering they have high friendship, but Alakazam lands the Future Sight and defeats Bewear using Psychic. The second Pokemon is Astra, who is now a Gothitelle. Ash switches into Spirtomb to battle. Spiritomb uses Grudge to lose much PP for Psychic, and it defeats Astra using Shadow Ball.
The third Pokemon is Alien the Malamar, and it uses Night Slash to defeat Spiritomb, so Ash goes for Araquanid to battle. Araquanid uses Lunge and Liquidation to defeat Alien, but it gets some damage from Psycho Cut. The fourth Pokemon is Star the Starmie. Starmie goes for Psychic to knock out Araquanid, so Ash switches into Decidueye to battle. Decidueye uses Spirit Shackle to prevent switching, and it uses Leaf Blade to knock it out.
The fifth Pokemon is Steelix named Core, so Ash switches to Swampert to battle. Both Pokemon use Earthquake at the same time, but Steelix takes more damage than Swampert. But in the end, Swampert uses Muddy Water to knock out Steelix. The final Pokemon is Moon the Celesteela, and it has been using Leech Seed on their Pokemon, and then it gives a Smart Strike. But Pikachu is the one who defeated the Pokemon by using Thunderbolt.
Crolea: Go on and win the finals! Only one match left! I know you can do it, Ash!
Ash: Thanks Crolea. (Shakes hands with her)
Ivan: Excellent work, Ash! Come back when you're ready for the finals!
Now Ash is prepared for the final round, as he finds that a nurse Joy is his opponent, much to his shock.
Ivan: Alright. It's time for the finals. Ash.
Peach: WE'RE AT THE FINALS NOW! ON THE LEFT WE HAVE ASH KETCHUM, THE UNDERWATER HOTEL HERO! ON THE RIGHT, WE HAVE MEDA, OUR POKEMON CENTER NURSE, AND CEOLIS' FIRST NORMAL TYPE GYM LEADER! BEGIN!
Meda: I prefer healing over fighting. That's why I resigned as a gym leader. But you need to be strong if you want to protect what's important to you, especially now that we have to worry about Team Portal!
Meda uses a team full of Normal Types, there is Indeedee named Cosmos, it sets up Light Screen and Reflect and it can only use Psychic to attack, Ash goes for Bisharp for this one as he has the advantage, and with the weak Defense, Bisharp defeats the Pokemon using Night Slash. The second Pokemon is a Blissey named Hawthorn, and when Bisharp deals damage using Iron Head, it uses Soft-Boiled to heal itself, and it has been dealing damage using Egg Bomb, eventually knocking it out. Ash decides to switch to Hitmonchan, and it delivers Focus Punch while Blissey goes for Soft-Boiled again, and this time it knocks the Pokemon out.
The third one is Sawsbuck named Blossom, and it uses Horn Leech to take Hitmonchan's health, and it also goes for Leech Seed, causing Hitmonchan to faint in the end, but Hitmonchan lands a Fire Punch and makes it burned. Ash goes for Swellow to battle, and Swellow uses Brave Bird to defeat Sawsbuck in the end. The fourth Pokemon is Miltank named Jasmine, and Ash goes for Conkeldurr to battle. Miltank goes for Milk Drink to heal itself after taking damage from Hammer Arm, and it goes for Body Slam and Zen Headbutt to give it much damage.
The fifth one is Snorlax named Poppy, it uses Rest and Sleep Talk so that it can deliver Return, and Swellow is defeated by Snorlax's power. So Ash goes for Pikachu to battle, and Pikachu uses Thunderbolt to knock it out.
Meda: Now let me show you what we're made of, go! Lavender!
She sends out Audino, and Ash and Lillie notice that it has a Mega stone.
Lillie: Wait? You mean there are Mega Evolutions in this region?
Ash: Oh boy...
Meda: Mega Evolve! Lavander!
Audino mega evolves and now it changes its form, and Lillie is in awe as this is the first time she is seeing it on the spot.
Ash: You know what? Two can play that game!
He switches to Charizard and goes for the Mega Evolution, and it causes Drought to power up Fire moves.
Audino doesn't seem to learn any normal moves, it uses Simple Beam and Dazzling Gleam to deal some damage, and in the end, Charizard still defeats it and returns it to normal.
Meda: This is my first tournament loss. (Recalls Audino) I started doing tournaments after I resigned, and I've been undefeated in everyone I entered until now. I'm honored my first loss is to someone like you! As long as people like you are in Ceolis, Team Portal doesn't stand a chance! (Ash nods at her words)
Peach: AND THE WINNER IS... ASH KETCHUM! HIS PRIZE IS...A MARBLE!
Ash puts the Marble in his bag, as he has now 43 of them and they know what they can do with them.
Ivan: (Shocked) I...I can't believe it! Meda's been defeated! That's what I'd be saying if it wasn't you, Ash. I think when it comes to you, we should be ready to believe anything. With that being said...Everyone, I have an announcement to make. This tournament isn't only the special event that'll be taking place today. Soon, we're going to have two very important guest speakers at the Sea Star Shrine! One of them is among you. That would be Brutus. And the other...well, you'll have to see for yourself!
Peach: Come join us soon!
After the crowd leaves, Lillie hugs Ash and congratulates him.
Lillie: Congratulations, Ash! That was incredible!
Ash: Thanks, but I never knew a Nurse Joy like Meda could be this strong as well...
Crolea: Yeah, Ivan said they're going to have speeches at the Sea Star Shrine. We were already going to go, but now I guess we have another reason. I'll meet you in front of Celium Park when you two, Delicia, and Emily are ready!
After she leaves, Ash and Lillie decide to continue exploring the place and find what the Sea Star Society has to offer.
And I'll end the chapter here, considering that it is hard to write 6 full battles in a row. I hope you like this chapter and we are not done with the Sea Star Society, considering there are a lot of things to do next.
