Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.

A/N: Listening to "Call Me Maybe" Omg such a good song! I dunno why but I always imagined Revali as a 'no nonsense' kind of guy and Link as being kind of goofy sometimes and that's why they didn't seem to get along and then I started writing this.. hmm. How did this happen? Btw I write Link as kind of goofy because I sorta am.. kinda goofy teehee. I haven't watched it yet but yes I did reference Soul a little here. Teehee.

Also if you play a Zelda game and skip the mini games SHAME ON YOU! SHAME. ON. YOU. Shame on You!

The rito warrior woke well before the dawn and flew down to the inn, he wasn't sure why but he he had feeling the others would want to be awake for today. He informed the innkeeper who nodded and went to wake them, Revali then flew up to where Link was. The other male was still snoozing, he grinned it wasn't quite dawn yet. He looked over to see the sky was just barely lighting up, then Link stirred and his focus returned to the other male. Link stretched and then smiled at him, he watched as Link ran his fingers through his hair and tied it back. Then he got out of the nest and walked up to him.

"Came to visit?" Link asked.

"I came to see if you were awake," Revali replied. "And to see you before I go up there." He then turned away from Link and flew off, he made a point to circle Vah Medoh and see who all was showing up. He then landed in his usual spot to wait, he spotted their friends as they arrived with the help of his kin. He then looked to the updraft, nothing else was important but somehow today really, really was. Link appeared and looked to him, he then took a brief look around before focusing totally on him. Link seemed more confident today but looking around bespoke of something other. Then he realized as Link stopped before him, "They are here, I went to make sure myself." Link smiled brightly at him.

"Thanks, I was a little worried about that," Link said, in response. The other seemed a little nervous then but he was still focused on him.

"Don't worry," Revali soothed. "You do not need to be perfect." Link nodded and smiled before taking a calming breath and relaxing visibly. Revali too took a breath, then he began going through the movements, one turn and then two, which led into three. As he went for his turn it happened, Link stepped forward and he immediately reached for him. His wing across Link's chest, to hook at his neck gently but firmly. His other wing holding onto Link's wrist as Link copied his actions, they were in sync. Then they turned forced to separate for the briefest of moments but came back to one another, in the same position as when they had joined. His heart beat wildly in his chest and then it happened, everything melted away and they were the only ones in this moment. Another turn and right back together, Link was feeling this moment too, he could see it in the other's expression.

It was then that he understood the meaning of his dance, of their dance, another turn and time seemed to slow for them as they came back together. Their dance was a promise, then the direction changed and they switch wing and arm. Every turn was the moments they may have to spend apart but they would always come back to one another, they would always come back together. No matter the direction their lives would take, no matter the difficulties they would have, they would always come back to one another. This was their bond, this was their promise and their devotion. Every motion, every turn, every change in direction brought them closer, made them stronger. The dance was nearly over and there was only one thing left, the finale.

"Trust me and let go," he whispered. Link smiled and nodded slightly, he let go and Revali spun him, once twice, three times and finally after the fourth, he pulled Link close. Link immediately grabbed each side of his face and gently pulled their foreheads together. He knew he was cooing but couldn't stop, he didn't resist. He too needed to trust and then Link surprised him by planting a passionate kiss on the top of his beak, his heart beat wildly in his chest and he even thought he may have purred a bit but it was all a blur. The collective cheers and whistles finally reached them, the moment was over already?

He smiled and pulled Link into a hug, he felt the other male's arms sink into his plumage. A movement caught his attention out of the corner of his eye, he saw Princess Zelda making her way towards them. A rito intercepted her however and he breathed with some relief, this was why outsiders were not usually allowed to observe their customs. This was their moment, no one else's, just theirs.

"Hold on tight," he whispered. Link did as he said and then they were flying, he felt Link's legs wrap around him as he began to even out, he then swooped around Vah Medoh and then toward the makeshift room. They would not be denied their moment, he would ensure that they got their moment alone. He landed and eased Link toward their nest, he heard Link gasping a bit in his own excitement and then Link was undressing him. He in turn began to remove the Hylian's clothing, they were of one mind. He eased Link back into the nest before removing the other male's boots and pants. He paused a moment to admire the other male, his bare skin on full display.

Then Link reached for him and he went willingly, climbing into the nest as Link wrapped his body around him. This surprised him a little, he wasn't sure what role he would even play in their relationship but it seemed Link had already decided. Still he would need to be gentle, he did not wish to hurt the other male in his haste. Link seemed to have other plans and soon had him pressed into the nest while straddling him. It was so odd to see the need, reflected into the other male's eyes. Almost as though Link wanted this as much, if not more than he did.

"I need you," Link whispered. Revali grinned at this and obliged grabbing his hips and pushing into the tight ring of muscle. Still he didn't force it and Link was being surprisingly patient. He pushed in a little more and little by little, until he was completely encompassed. They lay there gasping and then he smiled a bit as he noticed, a certain little one eyed snake had taken an interest in this well. He decided to give it some attention too, stroking the full length with slow and even strokes. Link gasped, "Revali."

The other male began to move, the motion pleased him as his own member began to slip out little by little. Then Link was lowering and he pushed back in, he wasn't sure if this was how this was normally done but he didn't have any complaint's. Link moaned, his passage was becoming easier to push into as well. Those first few moments were slow and very nearly agonizing, it wasn't too long before their pace increased and he could thrust freely. Revali soon found himself cooing which each thrust and hearing those delightful moans from Link, was nearly too much for him to handle. He even increased his strokes along Link's attentive member.

"Revali.. I.. I'm," Link began to say, Revali then knew the other male was close. He used one wing to increase to hard thrusts while other stroked a little faster. Link screamed out his name and Revali pulled him close as the other male clamped down on him. He too came at the intensity, unexpectedly at that. "You're.. cooing." Those gasped words had him chuckling a little, of course he was cooing.

"I am," He acknowledged.

"That.. was amazing," Link whispered. He agreed, it had been amazing and now all he wanted to do was sleep. He did pull out first, slowly though so he wouldn't hurt Link and then he allowed himself to drift off.

Revali woke to Link stroking his feather's, he couldn't express just how much he enjoyed this but now he could do what he had always wanted to do. He began to preen Link, gently and with precision. He heard Link laugh a bit as though it tickled, he then preened his feather's a bit only to realize Link must have cleaned them before he woke and grinned. He went back to preening Link who giggled and snuggled up close to him.

"What are you doing?" Link asked, he sounded genuinely curious.

"Preening you," Revali explained, he felt Link hold him a little tighter before the other male went back to stroking his feathers. He knew he was basking in the moment but surely the world could allow him this, just this one moment to relax and just enjoy being with his mate. "Every dance has a meaning." He suddenly said, he knew Link probably didn't know about the meaning of theirs but maybe he could guess. "Can you guess the meaning of ours?"

"I.." Link paused and was quiet for a long time. He was almost certain that he might have to explain it. "I think I can," Link finally said. "Every time we turned, we had to separate. Maybe that means that, even if life forces us to go in separate directions. We will always find each other. And when we are together we are, bonded." He smiled Link was partially right, so he preened Link as a reward.

"Yes and no matter the direction life takes us, we will be together. No matter how many times were have to be separated, we will always find each other," Revali whispered. "Rito live shorter lives than hylians, so we must cherish every minute of it. Live in every moment and love for as long as we are able." Link's worried expression appeared in his vision, he knew what the other was thinking almost immediately. "Rito can live anywhere from fifty to seventy years at the most. My own father lived to be sixty-five, our lives can also end abruptly in battle but that doesn't mean we will just stop living life to it's fullest. Even you could meet an end in battle, one false move, one misstep and it all ends. That is why we must also trust and believe in each other, to always return. No matter the storm, no matter the circumstances, we will always find one another."

Link nodded, he was smiling now but that worry still lingered there, though they still had many years to spend together. It would be quite a while before he would be too old to do much of anything, except spend time together. He was only twenty after all, still young and vibrant but old enough to want to settle down. Well he was almost twenty-one rather but that was in a month and a few days. He didn't want to move from this spot but as Link was now climbing out of the nest, he supposed he would have to. He sat up to see the other male was dressing, Link then turned to look at him as if beckoning him to get up as well.

"Where exactly are you planning on going?" he asked, a little dismayed.

"Well this probably is our friend's last day here," Link replied. "We should at least go see them off and besides, I have to inform the princess that I intend to leave her service."

"Of course," Revali said, absently. He had completely forgotten that they were leaving today. "You are right, we should go and see them off." Revali reluctantly got up from the nest and dressed, he paused when he noticed Link was staring at him. "What is it?"

"Nothing I thought I saw a.. nevermind," he stammered before heading to the edge. Revali absently ran his wing along the scar, perhaps Link had noticed it briefly. He smiled, he would not hide his scars from Link, the hylian was his mate after all. Thankfully though, they were quite easy to miss for the most part but those who could spot them, usually ignored that they were there. He followed Link and easily flew circles around the Hylian but not to show off. He strategically used his gale to redirect Link, today was a windy day. One false move and his mate could easily be slammed into the cliff-side. Once they were on the ground, he patted Link's back a little.

"Whew I wasn't expecting that wind," Link finally said.

"I felt the wind shift well in advance," Revali responded. "Sometimes it happens with little warning but I will not let it cause you harm or distress." Link smiled and he couldn't help but feel a little happy, in response.

"How can you tell when the wind changes?" Link asked.

"My feather's are quite sensitive, so even the smallest of breezes are easy to decipher," Revali responded. "Most Rito can feel when the wind changes, it is after all our element." He hoped briefly that that didn't seem arrogant at that moment.

"Well I suppose that explains, that," Urbosa said, suddenly. Revali looked her way, she had watched their descent but had seemed quite confused by his actions. "I thought you were just showing off but instead you were keeping him from colliding with the cliffs."

"Of course," he replied. His feather's ruffling a bit, he hadn't really thought of the other Champions as friends but now, now he was truly considering that they had been through quite a lot together. He looked to see that the other's were waiting inside, except for Princess Zelda who was hovering in the doorway. "Shall we join everyone?" He turned his attention and question to Link, the other male nodded and walked inside taking a seat at the table. Revali sat beside him and looked to see that Urbosa and the Princess were taking a seat as well. Link wasn't talking yet though, even though everyone was clearly waiting. The tension even made him very uncomfortable.

"So you and Revali? I can say, I definitely did not expect that," Urbosa said, breaking the ice. Link rubbed the back of his neck a bit and smiled.

"Honestly, I didn't really expect it either," Link replied. "But I am glad, I always thought he hated me and his relentless criticism did get to me a bit." Revali listened, saying something now would, well he wasn't sure but he wanted to hear this. He needed to hear it, it was not him at his best and there was no way he could explain away his treatment of Link. He really didn't even know why he continued after that night, was it partly because he was angry? And if so was it because he was angry at Link? Or at himself for being too scared to tell the other male? "But well after.. after what future Sidon told me."

"What did he tell you little guy?" Daruk interrupted.

"Apparently in the future, where he was from.. Him and I were a couple," Link's voice slowly went quieter toward the end. He took a breath and continued so everyone could hear. "He and the me of the future had a little girl together, I was really questioning everything after that. But then after we defeated the calamity, things were slowly starting to come together. Why I only think of Mipha as a friend, why I avoid getting close to.. well.. any female and then well.." he suddenly stopped, was he unwilling to confess their initial encounter? Revali understood why of course. "Revali apologized to me, even though I was avoiding him." The other's didn't question this, Revali was a little relieved they hadn't. Link had left out a very key reason for his apology and he was grateful, though he felt now more than ever that he should apologize for everything else as well.

"Wow, how did you and.. Sidon from the future have a child?" Daruk asked.

"He told me that he and.. future me had gone to see the Great Fairy and she gave them a gift," Link replied. "He didn't really go into detail though, he did lament that he probably wouldn't have all of that when he returned. He was happy to save his sister but he would miss the family he and well.. future me had." Everyone was quiet sharing a moment of silence, even Revali did not want to interrupt, despite his irritation that Link was with another. He only managed to calm by thinking about the fact that Link was his, in the now and that he would always have these moments. "Princess Zelda, I mostly came down to tell you that I won't be going back to the castle. I'm resigning as your personal guard." Zelda smiled and nodded.

"I understand, I accept your resignation," Princess Zelda said, softly. He looked to see Link's relief, in not only his position but his face as well. The other male then hugged him tightly, he wrapped his wings around Link and preened his hair. He looked around to see that the other's were smiling brightly at them, except Mipha who had a bit of a sad smile. His feather's fluff a bit, so he just enjoyed this moment until Link pulled away and conversation began around the table. Things had changed, usually he would be the one making some form of comment but at this moment, he wasn't really sure if he should say anything. Most of the questions were aimed at Link and he could tell the other felt uncomfortable, as Link had tensed a bit. He was also giving short and very simple answers, he grabbed Link's hand and the other relaxed a bit. A couple questions came his way, throwing him off a bit because he wasn't sure of how to answer them.

"When did you tell Link about your feelings?" Mipha asked him.

"Well, honestly Link and I were drinking, having a bit of a contest," Revali began, he noted Link's panicked look but he continued. "Between the alcohol and lack of reasoning I had let it slip, til then I really wasn't certain myself why I was so angry with him all of the time. Or why I was so harsh, I suppose that contest really opened my eyes." He looked to see the surprised glances in his direction, honestly it wasn't that unusual an answer but maybe they could tell he wasn't telling them everything.

"Aww so you were really just into him that whole time?" Urbosa asked, he was relieved she had taken his response at face value.

"Yes," he replied. "I had asked him, if he would let me court him but he hadn't answered me that day. I was worried he would reject me outright." Revali looked around to see everyone's reactions, some were surprised and other's were nodding. "It wasn't until he came here for the festival that I finally received an answer, so I was still harsh with him."

"That's why he was avoiding you," Daruk said.

"When did you confess to him," Zelda asked.

"Before Calamity Ganon showed up," Link was the one to answer. Revali closed his eyes and lowered his head, he didn't want to see the looks they were giving him.

"So you were angry that he hadn't decided right away?" Urbosa asked, he felt a bit like he was about to be on the receiving end, of a mother's discipline just then.

"I was.. upset that he hadn't accepted and angry with myself for even letting it slip," Revali replied. "It does not excuse my actions by any means, nor do I expect any forgiveness but I do truly regret everything I have ever said to Link. It wasn't fair to lash out at him for any of that, nor was it alright to hurt him, to hurt his feelings." He looked at Link who was smiling at him and then Link pulled their foreheads together and kissed his beak. He couldn't help the little shiver of excitement or the wag of his tail, honestly if Link kept doing that from here on out, he might get used to it. He might even start to expect it but for now it was a pleasant anomaly, a show of affection only he and Link could share in this fashion.

"Well it looks like we will be here another night," Urbosa said. "It is much to late to travel now." Revali looked up in surprise at this, before he saw the sun was indeed getting low, he was quite surprised they had stayed so late.

"Oh shoot," Zelda said. "I promised father I would be heading back today."

"If you need a ride home, I do not mind flying you all home with Vah Medoh," Revali offered.

"Would you?" Mipha asked.

"Of course," Revali answered. "I may have to prepare a few things first but it should not be an issue at all." He looked up, remembering the nest. Usually when Vah Medoh was perched, it was at a slight angle but after Purah had recalibrated it, he could now have it level while still perched. The only issue would be landing again once he returned, Link seemed to be concerned about it as well.

"I'll meet you up there," Link said. Revali nodded before flying off, they would need a lot of rope.
