Disclaimer: I do not own Revali or Link or any of the Zelda characters nor do I profit from these stories. They are just for Funzo.
A/N: chappie here, chappie is here! So excited. Oh also I decided to give Link the backstory I gave him.. cause no one ever mentions this as a possibility, because it doesn't happen as much anymore. But I feel it really needs to the highlighted sometimes to add a little depth to some character's. Obviously Alternate Timeline Link here remembers everything about his past, while 100 Year Old Link does not and can only piece together the bits and pieces we learn in the mini movies from BoTW. But obviously I added one or two and maybe a hint to his parents! So expect some back story on them, through this story.

Link sat straight up and felt around for the Shiekah Slate, before remembering it was still in his pack. He quickly made his way over and against his better judgment opened the map, he removed the previous star he had placed then placed another. Link wasn't even sure why he had wanted to know the location of the Great Fairy but it didn't matter. Now if Revali looked at the shiekah slate, he would know.
"Link," Revali's voice carried over to him. He spun about to see the other male rubbing one eye and staring at him with the other. "What's wrong? What happened? Did you have a nightmare?"
"Could be," Link replied, cryptically. Revali opened his wings and beckoned him back to the nest, Link grinned bringing the shiekah slate with him. He climbed back into the nest and snuggled up to Revali before showing him the screen. "That star is where the Great Fairy is supposedly, supposed to be."
"Link, how can you be certain," Revali asked. "Also I thought that whole conversation made you unhappy."
"Only because," Link began but stopped. No, he needed to talk about this, it didn't matter how hard it is to talk about. He had to even if he didn't mention his mother. "Hylian women have.. so much trouble with childbirth, yet alternate timeline me didn't have any issues. I'm just worried that if we do get help from the Great Fairy, that it might cost me.." He let the sentence hang there, he couldn't admit that he was afraid that having a child would kill him.
"I see," Revali whispered. "Rito females are.. lower risk of the ailments that hylian women would face. But I doubt the Great Fairy would ask for your life, in fact I am certain she wouldn't." He was surprised, the other male had so easily guessed his fear.
"I know, I just.. it's a worry that lingers in my mind," Link replied, his tone low, almost a whisper.
"Will you share the why of it?" Revali asked, softly.
"One day," Link answered. "Not tonight though, it's difficult to talk about." He felt a brief squeeze around him, then Revali stole away the shiekah slate and tucked it away somewhere. "Hey, I wasn't done with that."
"Oh? But you are done with it, for tonight," Revali teased. "It's time to rest, I don't know what woke you but you need sleep and we haven't slept very long." Link nodded, too tired to continue any back and forth tonight. With the excitement over with, he allowed himself to drift once more, back to the land of dreams.

Link awoke in a bit of a strange position, somehow he managed to flip around in his sleep and now his feet were up and his head was in a very unexpected place. One arm was trapped under his lover and the other was draped across the rito's legs, while his head rest somewhere near the other male's navel. Meanwhile his feet were enjoying the cool air outside the blanket, how did he even get himself into this position?
"Master Revali?" Link went into full on panic mode, as he checked to be sure he and Revali were covered. He even changed his position, to ensure the other male wouldn't see anything. Then the other rito rounded the corner, he was one of the other's from last night. "Master Reva.." He paused, as he finally spotted them. "My apologies, I thought Master Revali would be awake."
"I woke him up last night," Link replied. The other male grinned at that and Link realized what he had said wrong. "I had a.. bad dream I mean." He hid his face in Revali's feathers, he was so embarrassed. He knew exactly what their state looked like to the other rito, with their state of undress and still being in the nest.
"Night terrors hmm," the other said, sounding a bit concerned. "Could it be, that being in a new home caused them? There are some herbs that may help with it, if it's anxiety that is."
"Maybe, do you want me to wake him?" Link suddenly asked.
"Oh no that's fine, I will come back later," The rito replied, panicked. The other male then made a hasty exit. Link looked at where the rito had been, quite confused by that. Also why was the other so scared, when he asked that? Was this something between male rito? He wasn't sure but instead of dwelling on it, he decided to just cuddle up to Revali and stroke his feathers softly. Link was slowly drifting back to sleep, when the memory of his dream came back to him. His heart picked up pace, then warmth spread to his ears and face as he remembered the kiss. Future Sidon had kissed him in the dream but it wasn't him and yet it was, it was so confusing. Feeling Revali stir, he suddenly clutched at the blanket pulling it close, though he wasn't sure why.
"Link," Revali groaned. "What are you doing?"
"Mm well, I dunno," Link replied, releasing the blanket and hugging the other male. "But I think my arm is asleep." Revali arched his back and Link pulled his hand free. Yep, it had fallen asleep he realized, as the tingles suddenly rushed the entirety of his arm. "Oh yep, it's asleep." He groaned. Revali chuckled at that, he didn't even apologize, just laughed but Link didn't mind.
"You wiggled around so much last night," Revali said. "So consider it payback." Link was the one to laugh this time. "Not amusing." He looked up to see the slight grin on the warrior's beak.
"Question, if another rito came looking for you," Link began, hesitantly. "Would you want me to wake you?"
"What sort of a question is that?" Revali asked, indignantly. Then suddenly worriedly he continued, "Wait, which rito came looking for me?" Link immediately regretted asking, Revali looked furious and he was not prepared to deal with an angry birdy. "Link, who was it?"
"I don't know, it was just a question," Link replied, uncomfortable all of a sudden.
"Another rito would be.. I wouldn't enjoy another walking into our roost and seeing you in this state," Revali explained. "I am certain you wish not to get them in any trouble but if it happens again wake me. You are my mate, not theirs and normally other rito respect that. Well, except the younger rito. I have some idea of who it was, did they have red plumage by chance?" He flinched unintentionally, the other male did indeed have red feathers. "He.. Let's just say, he has done something similar before."
"What?" Link asked, shocked.
"He has walked in on mated rito, under the guise that it was an accident," Revali replied, angrily. "But it was false, a lie to keep them from reporting. He then boasts about these incident's amongst his friends." Link couldn't help feeling a little exposed just then, he couldn't believe there were pervert's here in Rito Village. "He is a bad influence, on some of the younger Rito Warriors under my wing." Revali sighed, Link could feel the sting of tears as he buried his face in the other male's feathers. He was ashamed that he didn't recognize the look, sure it had been different from some of the soldiers he had seen, with that very same look. But now he saw it for what it was, gossiper, pervert and he had thought it to be a simple misunderstanding, an accident. "Link, I apologize, I should have warned you sooner." Link shook his head, he knew now and would definitely wake Revali if it happened again.
"Master Revali?" Link ducked his head, as the familiar voice echoed within.
"Wait, outside," Revali yelled back. "I'll be right back." Link nodded and released the warrior, as he left the nest. He watched as the other put on something, to cover his lower half and a top before heading out.
"Master Revali How ar.." the voice was getting father away and harder to hear. Link couldn't help but feel tricked somehow, the other had seemed so kind. "Whoa, wait a.." Link was a little surprised to hear the shout, he half wondered if Revali confronted the other male on what he did. It was no wonder that the other had run scared before, it all made sense now. Revali was not known for being the kind, gentle leader. Revali was prideful, strict and took a no nonsense stance on everything that had to do with the warriors.
Sometimes he came off as rude or dismissive of others, Link wondered if he had adopted that attitude to deal with the younger rito warriors. Maybe he had associated him with being young as well, it would have explained his.. no, it wouldn't have he finally decided. Being strict was one thing but being rude and arrogant was a total other issue, still he smiled a bit at how protective Revali was of him. It wasn't long before Revali came and ushered him out of bed. He was wondering what the fuss was about, as he dressed and was only mildly surprised by their next destination.
They were going to see the current chief, he was a little surprised at how young the chief was however. Link landed and waited for Revali, the other male was slightly distracted by something but he didn't see what he was distracted by. The rito warrior landed beside Link and walked over to where the chief was. There were still some formalities but he assumed it was more as a sign of mutual respect, then anything else.
"We have come to make a formal complaint," Revali explained. The other male then looked his way, Link sighed but stepped forward, explaining what had happened that morning. Then Revali explained what he knew of the young warrior, the chief listened and took a sip of tea.
"This is concerning news," The chief finally said. "Why are you the first to come forward?"
"Because the other victim's believe he had walked in on accident," Revali replied, he looked very upset. The chief nodded and took another sip.
"I will reprimand him them," the chief offered. Revali nodded and turned toward him, Link was very confused about all this. Was that really all the chief was going to do?
"Let's go, I have a few things to take care of but then we will go to the flight range," Revali mentioned. Link nodded and followed, it was clear the rito warrior did not plan to talk further about the incident. They went to a place that seemed sort of familiar, except all the warriors were gathered there, he hadn't really seen this before. Revali motioned for him to wait so he did, he then watched as the other male gave orders to the other warriors. Even to the one who had walked in on them, except the order was to go and see the chief. Once dismissed, they all went to do as they had been told and his mate returned to him. "Shall we?"
He nodded but didn't expect to literally walk to one of the take off points, he watched as Revali summoned his gale. Then with a grin back at him he took off, Link smiled pulling out his para-sail and riding the updraft up before following. Revali summoned another updraft in his path which brought him back up, it wasn't much farther from there that they reached the flight range and landed. The Flight Range was a great place to train even for him, due to the constant updraft. Revali picked up a spare bow and handed it to him, Link was curious what the other male planned to do but soon it became apparent. They were going to train, he smiled a bit uncertainly. Link wasn't known for his ability with a bow but then again maybe that was why Revali was training him, he wondered if Revali had trained with every warrior.
"First, I wish to see how many targets you can hit, during the time it takes for the sun to rise over that ridge," Revali explained. "It will give me an idea, of your proficiency with a bow." Link frowned but accepted the spare bow and quiver regardless, Revali motioned for him to start so he did. He used his para-sail to get airborne, only switching to shoot targets, the max he could shoot were three at one time. He was panting by the time Revali called him back, the warrior then took a moment to show off. But Link found that he didn't mind, so long as the other didn't make any snide comments. Revali didn't even look winded, by the time he landed and Link had caught his own breath by that time. "Again."
Link nodded, resigned to the impromptu training session. It was interesting to see what the other male did on a daily basis, since there were no more monsters to fight. He knew they hadn't killed all the monster's however, he knew because sometimes he would still find them but they would run from him usually. He didn't bother to chase them, as they were unarmed and also not attacking anymore. He hit maybe fourteen targets, then he was called back in, panting a bit from the effort and then Revali went at the targets again. This time he watched closely, surprised when he realized the other was optimizing the amount of targets he hit simply by positioning. Link wondered why he had never watched the rito before but realized as Revali landed, the other was regarding him with some thought. Was the other trying to figure out how to train him? What to say, perhaps? Before the rito could say anything though, Link nodded and went back out there, this time challenging himself to hit more.
This time he hit four in one go but the slowing effect was wearing off as he was loosing the last arrow. Luckily he got his para-sail out, heading for the next spot and trying to get four targets in his immediate line of sight. He then let the four arrows fly, at their respective targets. Of course he couldn't do any trick shots so he still got called back in, before he got too many targets hit. Revali was grinning at him when he landed, out of breath from the workout.
"Let's take a break," Revali mentioned. Link nodded as he stomach suddenly growled, well then, seems he was more than a little hungry. "Wait here, I'll be right back." He nodded and took a seat to catch his breath, his rito warrior took off toward the village. He stood when a familiar rito landed nearby and it was not Revali, he glared at the other male.
"I guess you told him?" the rito accused.
"Actually, I didn't," Link replied. "He guessed, in fact. I wasn't even going to reveal that it was you. But I suppose he must have overheard you bragging a few times!" The rito looked confused at that, almost as though he hadn't noticed that.
"When did he.." the rito shook his head. "Whatever, I was going to be nice to you, you seemed like a nice enough guy. Now however? I will definitely teach you to not to cross me." The other male then flew off, Link didn't like to be threatened and he wasn't going to let the overgrown cucco scare him. He flinched a bit though, he had never even thought of Revali that way, so why was this guy like a cucco to him?
He began to think of the commonalities before figuring it out, Revali was not a coward at least. The rito warrior had never shown anyone any fear, not even any of his warriors. Yet this guy was terrified of Revali and this just proved it, the other male couldn't even face him with Revali around. He heard the sound of wings overhead, that had him looking up to see that his thoughts had brought his rito back to his side. He stood and joined the other near a small table, Revali was giving him a worried look.
"What did he say to you?" Revali asked, he realized the other must have seen the young male return to the village.
"He accused me of tattling," Link replied. Revali clicked his beak, he wasn't exactly sure what that meant, as he didn't remember Revali ever doing that before. "He was very adamant about teaching me a lesson." He mumbled the last bit.
"I'm not surprised that he resorted to threats," Revali said, setting out the two plates he had brought back. Link grinned as he saw what it was, it had a few vegetables, some meat and at least one type of fruit. When he took a bite he realized it was quite spicy but he didn't mind it, it was even more delicious with the spice and sweet from the fruit.
"Mm, this is delicious," Link whispered, peering over at his mate. He supposed they were technically mated, yes, they had already mated several times so they were definitely mates. He bit his lower lip at the memory of their first coupling, of course they were also drunk as well but their most recent soon invaded the forefront of his mind. His heart picked up it's pace then his ears and face warmed a bit. He looked over to see Revali regarding him and he smiled, reassuringly.

Falling face first into the nest he sighed, today had been an exhausting day and Link was exhausted to his very bones. He winced as he was rolled over, he smiled at Revali who crawled in with him. His rito didn't even seem like he had worked at all, in fact he still seemed wide awake.
"How do you do this everyday?" Link asked. Revali grinned at him.
"Because I do it everyday," Revali answered, simply. "It is easier, considering that we rito learn to fly from a very young age and continue to fly all of our lives. For you, well.. You are using muscles you are not accustomed to using but you will get used to it eventually. I don't expect you to do this every day, however." He let out a sigh of relief at that, his rito chuckled at him and he snuggled up to the other male. "We will work on your endurance this way, until you can do it every day, it will keep us busy and ready for any challenge. Also, I want you to keep a weapon of some kind near the nest, in case I have to leave you here alone."
Revali removed his boots and socks but left everything else, maybe the rito was more tired than he let on. His rito then completely stripped down, while he removed his jacket and the thick pants. A chill ran up his body and he snuggled back up to Revali, who covered them both with the blankets before holding him.

And maybe some lighter content as well. See y'all in the next one!
