Warriors of a Feather, Stick Together

Doctor Visit!

The remaining days passed with relative ease and he soon found himself face to face with the severe rito healer. Of course, if he hadn't had Link there keeping him company, he would have gone absolutely crazy for sure. Link had come up with so many different games and things to do that he had not had a moment to be bored, not to mention the more explicit activities. He missed flying despite all of that and though commendable the effort, nothing made him miss it more, than having to be carried down from Vah Medoh. The healer's orders were strict after all and he dare not disobey, not since her last patient at least. Rumor had it the last patient to disobey, had received a very thorough pecking. He clicked his beak impatiently and nearly immediately regretted it, as she glared at him.

"Does this hurt?" she asked, poking the area that had been tender for so long. He was surprised it wasn't still tender, he didn't flinch.

"No," He answered, honestly.

"Well, looks like you have a clean bill of health, lucky you," She said, sounding somewhat disappointed. "And you, you made sure he didn't use his wing didn't you."

"Of course, I kept him away from the air with games," Link teased. "But mostly, I just made sure he didn't use it."

"Aww, you have a keeper here," the healer said to him. He smiled and pulled Link close, he knew all of that already.

"I know," Revali replied. He watched as Link blushed, he was getting used to the non-verbal queues from his mate. He could even discern what each one meant, this one was happy embarrassment and it was very adorable. He allowed Link to remove the sling and the tested his range of motion for the healer, as well as strength. Revali soon realized he would need to build it back up a bit, he had lost a bit of his strength from not using his wing but it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed, with some training. He would also be avoiding using his gale for a day or two, any imbalance would throw him from tunnel of wind. His wing instinctively went to his scars, he remembered too well his very first use of the gale and would not repeat the mistake.

"Well as mush as I would like to keep you on light work, I know that isn't possible for you, I will ask you not to overdo it," she stressed.

"Of course," Revali said, he knew she was speaking of his special skill. All the rito knew about it, just not the specifics on how it worked. She nodded and waved them out, he wrapped his wing around Link. Leading the other male along the pathways until the were at the landing, he planed to get some exercise today. His beloved mate could use the training as well of course. "Hop on."

"But she said.." Link began.

"She was warning me about my gale," Revali teased. "Now come on." Link did as he urged and soon they were airborne, it was not difficult to stay aloft. He even proved it by gaining height, he peered back briefly to spy his mate smiling and looking around. Revali was making his way to the flight range, though he should be going to inform his second, that he was well again. Still he wanted to spend this time as part of recovery and with his mate, perhaps he was just scared to leave the other male alone. Leaving his mate alone meant that the hylian was vulnerable and outmatched when it came to other rito.

Mayhap he was just being overprotective as well, he wondered if this was how his father had felt. The fear and distrust, the imminent loneliness that would come if anything happened to his beloved. Would he have become his father? He shook his head, no he wouldn't, his mate was still alive and well. And he intended to keep it that way, for as long as he could. He landed at the flight range and allowed Link to carefully lower himself, he then led the way to the targets. Practice went fairly well, though less smooth than he had anticipated, seems that sprain had thrown off his rhythm and he would need to get it back.

Of course Revali knew he would have plenty of time for that, it would be while until he was back at one-hundred percent efficiency. He cut training short, so he wouldn't be admonished for overdoing it and even allowed Link to teleport them both back to the Divine Beast. They spent the remainder of the day planning for tomorrow and playing a few of the games, only now he had both wings that he could use, so they could add a few of his games to the mix. After they had finished playing for the eve, he picked up the shiekah slate and peered at the map. The terrain was very vague around the star, almost as though the fountain itself didn't even show up on the map. Almost all the terrain features were displayed, down to the last tree but the fairy fountain seemed to be omitted, missing.

"What is it?" Link asked.

"The fairy fountain, it's really there yes?" Revali asked.

"It has to be, otherwise me from Sidon's future wouldn't have found it," Link reasoned.

"I'm just concerned that it doesn't show up on the map, that is all," He whispered.

"It probably doesn't show up because.. well.." Link sounded like he was really trying to think of a reason. "Maybe their magic keeps them hidden?" He hadn't thought of that, it made sense. But still he just couldn't shake the feeling, that he might be about to embark on a wild cucco chase. Link suddenly took the shiekah slate from him, he was a bit surprised.

"What are you doing?" Revali asked.

"You look really good in this light," Link said. "So I wanted to take a picture." He felt his feather's ruffle a bit, he had seen some of the picture's that Link already had on the shiekah slate. They were very realistic, true to life but being in a picture alone wasn't for front of his mind. Link yelped as he pulled the Hylian close, stealing the shiekah slate back.

"A picture hmm, how do I take one?" Revali asked. He heard a whispered 'but' and tsked. "Uh-uh, no 'buts'.. how?" Link showed him how to and he positioned Link in front of him. Placing his beak and head atop Link's before snapping a picture of them both, he then handed it back to Link. "Looks better with both of us." He watched as Link's ears went red at that and grinned.

"You're right, I love this picture," Link said. He sighed, now he would have to be jealous of an image?

"Honestly," He complained.

"Of course not better than the real thing," Link teased, kissing his beak. His heartbeat picked up at that, every time. "Geez, getting jealous over every little thing, even though you know I will always love you more." He grinned at the confession, Link hadn't quite said this in so many words. The hylian was more about action and doing to prove his love, much like how Revali was. Why say something, when you can prove it to be so? Molting season was coming soon and he had something very special planned for his mate. A gift that no other rito would be able to compare with, something just from him and with a very special reason in mind. Honestly, he really should work on it as soon as possible, while his mate was asleep. A little at a time, so that it would be finished by the time he could add the accents to it. Sure he had a basic set already but not one as soft as his would be, if Link were to be believed about the softness of his plumage that is. "What are you thinking about?"

"Oh.. Nothing in particular," he fibbed. Link cuddled up to him, he smiled and led the male inside, as it would be dark soon and he had quite the day tomorrow.

"So tomorrow, when you find the Fountain.." Link began.

"I will go out in search of the Great Fairy Fountain tomorrow," Revali said. "When I come back I will let you know what I find.. For now though, we should sleep."

"Okay," Link replied, giving in. He smiled, tonight was going to be a perfect night to start his gift and Link would be none the wiser.
