AN: Here we are. Back again!
I'm back. :D
I hope you guys are enjoying the story so far, because this chapter should be a good one. This is where things start to take off! If I do say so myself.
Right, enough talk.
Let's begin!
Disclaimer: I, Beowulf, do not own PJO or JJBA. I only own this plot, my OC, and the disappointing truth that I do not possess D4C. If I did, I'd be jumping around universes like a bunny on crack.
~Chapter 6~
The game was over. Their streak was over.
For the first time in over fifty Capture-the-Flag games, the Campers had finally managed to pull a win over on the Hunters. Speaking of which, all of them were caught in a state of disbelief, and none more so than Zoe Nightshade. She glared from her spot at the base of a tree where had been left unconscious, scowling at the young man in front of her. He was smirking, with his hands clasped behind his back and leaning down to look her in the eyes.
"Had a nice nap Zoe?" He said teasingly as Annabeth appeared next to him with a smile, holding the Hunters' flag in one hand and a dark cap in the other.
Her mind was whirring as she went back over the plan she and the rest of the Hunters had gone with. Just like the countless times before, she had broken away with a small group to secure the flag while the rest of the Hunters went with the option of frontal assault. This would secure them control over the creek and allow the group in charge of securing the flag an easily defended passage back to their side of the woods. That would have secured them the win in this foolish game and they could finally leave to go and save their mistress from whatever trouble had managed to ensnare her.
The issue was, she never accounted for him.
That blasted man that had managed to outwit her and all the hunters again and again.
She scowled as she remembered how he had managed to outsmart her.
-Flashback-
She and her group of five Hunters stalked through the woods towards where the Campers' flag was located. It should have been fairly easy, considering that the Aphrodite cabin was in charge of defending this side. She had snorted when she realized that, once again, the Love Goddess's children were meant to oppose her. Victory would be easy.
Snap! Her group stopped, their bows and arrows at the ready. She scowled, looking around for the source of the sound. She wanted to shout out for whoever it was to show themselves, but that would not be the best move. It wouldn't be pleasant if that sound had just been an animal and her shout attracted a group of campers to their location.
"...shit, I gave myself away huh? Well, I was never the best at stealth..." A voice echoed out of the woods as a figure came out from behind a tree. Zoe snarled in annoyance.
Of course. Of course it was him.
Cyrus grinned at the combative stances that the Hunters were in as he regarded each of them. He had worn the same armaments that he had used in his fight against the son of Ares, and he was looking just as relaxed. Taking note of Zoe's especially pissed off state, he chuckled. "Well don't you look so pleased to see me Zoe."
Zoe scowled before she quickly looked over at her little team and nodded to them. Heeding her silent order, the group of Hunters dashed off into the woods, leaving her and Cyrus alone.
"Interesting...I'm guessing you sent them off to capture our flag while you keep me occupied huh?" The gray coated teen mused to himself in a thinking pose. Zoe just glared at him before quickly drawing back her bowstring and firing a crack shot arrow at his head.
Quick as lightning, Cyrus ducked, the Last Word in his hand as he fired in her direction. The bullets zipped past her as she dashed behind a boulder, some even breezing right near her arms and legs. She grimaced as she pulled another arrow from her quiver.
As much as she disliked him, Zoe could admit a few things. For starters, she could admit that Cyrus was definitely a good shot with his gun. If there was any debate about it, all they had to do was ask Apollo (who was still a bit ticked off at how the young demigod had bested him in a game of sharpshooting). Now that was a fun time when the Sun and Moon had met up.
Back to the matter at hand, Zoe's mind was running miles in minutes. The boy she now fought was an enigma. All she really knew was that he was a crack shot with his Last Word, he was obscenely strong, had a strange healing factor of some kind. All in all, a pretty tough (and annoying) opponent. But on top of that, Cyrus had his strange ability that Zoe still had to grasp.
"If he is between two objects he can disappear and reappear? What a frightening ability...but this man shall not best me!" She thought as she quickly turned the corner with her bow and arrow at the ready.
Her stomach dropped as she realized he wasn't there. He had moved. Her instincts screamed at her as she dodged to the right, just as a vicious fist slammed into the rock she stood next to. The boulder shattered with pebbles flying around the two of them.
"En garde Nightshade!" He gave a roguish grin that did not make a blush fly up her cheeks. She scowled at the caramel-toned young man, slinging her bow over her chest. At this range, it would be impossible to just shoot him.
She drew her daggers, and he raised an eyebrow in response. "Melee huh? In that case I won't use this then." He said as he made his gun vanish before taking the same stance he'd had when fighting Darius in the arena.
Cyrus stood tall with a smirk curling his lips. "How dare he? Doth he not take me seriously?!" Her thoughts hissed in her mind like a thousand venomous snakes, urging her to make him pay.
She held her daggers in reverse grips and with a roar, charged the boy who infuriated her so very much. "Thou shalt not win Khan!" She spat as she swiped at him with her blades.
He countered by blocking each of them with the bracers on his arms, occasionally lashing out with punch or a kick that was summarily dodged by the agile Huntress. She hacked and slashed and cleaved with her blades, but again and again, she heard the clang of metal against metal as Cyrus blocked or deflected each of her strikes. But even through that, she sensed something...odd.
"Thou art holding back, aren't thee?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at her foe. Cyrus seemed to hesitate for a moment, which confirmed her suspicion. Her nostrils flared. How dare he hold back against her like that! Was she not good enough?!
Breaking away from the fight, she glared at Cyrus, who regarded her with a strange expression on his face. "No offense to you Zoe, but if I didn't...I'd kill you."
That didn't lower Zoe's anger in the slightest.
She snarled, before flipping her dagger so that she held it by the tip. With a yell, she threw it with all her might. As it arced towards her foe, she realized something.
Cyrus wasn't dodging.
Perhaps he was surprised by her reaction, or maybe he just was tired out from the brawl they'd had. Regardless, he didn't move.
And Zoe's dagger hit its mark, right smack through Cyrus's eye.
Despite her antagonizing of the dark-maned teen, Zoe couldn't deny the massive lurch of fear that burbled in her gut at that very moment.
The force of the dagger punching through knocked him back, and he stumbled. Gasping in shock, Zoe stared in horror at what she had done. Only for that horror to morph into shock as Cyrus stood back up and looked at her.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Where there should have been a dagger sticking in his head, was a hole. It was as if someone had scooped out the entire portion of his head, replacing it with a square hole, which was then surrounded by smaller and smaller squares. Cyrus tilted his head in curiosity, completely...unbothered by this?! (1)
"W-what is this?!"
Cyrus seemed to smirk even with the square-ish holes in his face, "D4C."
She felt a chop to the back of her neck, and she knew no more.
-Flashback end-
Zoe was definitely not happy. She winced quietly as she massaged the back of her neck as she looked at the boy in front of her with suspicion. Was it a trick of the light that had made it look like he had a hole in his face? Some strange illusion? Her aim was true with that dagger, that was for certain...
"Sleeping like a little princess you were. Isn't that right Annie?" Cyrus asked over his shoulder. Annabeth giggled a little and nodded.
"Oh, definitely Cy." She replied as she planted the flag in the ground. Chuckling to himself, he offered a hand to the downed huntress. She scowled as she looked up at the man who had defeated her. His eyes twinkled with the mischief that was as ever-present as his silvery-purple overcoat, but also with a kindness that surprised her.
Cyrus smiled warmly down at her. "C'mon, it's all a game after all. Don't go biting the hand that feeds." He chided with a teasing tone near the end. She grumbled a bit before sucking it up and taking the hand to pull herself up.
"Thou push thine luck Khan," She warned. He simply chuckled before handing her the knife she had thrown at him. Taking her blade back, she squinted for a moment, preparing to ask questions about their fight, before she heard people gasp behind her.
Turning around, she absently noted Chiron speak in awed disbelief. "S-she's never come out of the attic before..." Her jaw dropped as her brain caught up with what her eyes were seeing.
A withered mummy of a woman approached them slowly, sickly green mist spilling from its eyes and mouth as it shuffled forward. Zoe knelt reverently as it approached, but it bypassed her and instead continued its slow but steady march towards the gray-clad teen.
Cyrus stepped back a bit in surprise, a bit unnerved by the mist that leaked out from the Oracle of Delphi. It reminded him far too much of a certain mist-user of an old hag...
Suddenly a old voice hissed within his mind, making him flinch. Apparently everyone heard it, as he noticed the same reaction from the others out of the corner of his eye. "I am the Voice of Delphi. Speaker of the Sun God's Prophecies. Approach me and know your Fate."
It took a moment for Cyrus to realize it- she had meant him. He cleared his throat, and did as told. "What does Destiny command of me?"
The Oracle's mouth opened, and green mist poured out like a deluge. Peering into the mist despite his misgivings, he saw as a familiar face appeared.
It was a tall man, dressed in almost all black. He wore a black Jester's cap with golden baubles attached to the tips, a long black coat with straps that went over his chest, and black and white striped pants. He wore no shirt, and his eyes were a jarring red with black sclerae. Despite his decently youthful appearance, his hair was a uniform gray.
Cyrus's eyes bulged in shock. "R-Risotto? What is-" Risotto suddenly began to speak in the Oracle's voice, rhyming as his lips moved; his voice still the icy hiss of the Oracle.
To the Goddess in Chains, shall six of you go
And in the land lacking rain, five face the Stand User's foes
The man's face disappeared, only to be replaced by another, "Gh-Ghiaccio?!"
United as one, Hunters and Campers prevail
As the Bane of Olympus shows the trail
"What the hell is thi-" The face shifted once again and this time Cyrus's complexion decreased in color with alarming rapidity as he stepped back. "Impossible...y-you're dead!"
A man who's body was mostly concealed in darkness with pitch black hair and red highlights faced him. Two differently colored eyes, one purple and one gray, stared into two of green-fuchsia.
The Mysteries of D4C revealed at last
And one doomed to the Titan's burden vast
The man's body dissolved into green mist, swirling into the Oracle's mouth before it suddenly sat down on a nearby rock, becoming as motionless as the corpse it was.
Chiron was the first to recover from his shock, turning his gaze to Cyrus. The boy was definitely not okay, as he stood there, frozen and breaking out into a cold sweat. His eyes were wide with horror as he stared at the Oracle.
Images and words flashed through Cyrus's mind, the sounds of battle and brutality echoing.
"How dare you attempt to defy me? A lowly worm like you versus an Emperor!"
"I will tear your empire down, Old Man! You will pay for the suffering you have caused! And when you are finished, I shall take your place and do what must be done!"
"I am the ruler of this world! I stand at the top, and those above need not concern themselves with the opinions of the lesser!"
"Enough talk! D4C!"
"Judicator!" (2)
"Cyrus? Cyrus!" A hand touched his shoulder, jolting him out of his thoughts. He gasped as he looked to see Chiron looking at him with concern. "Are you alright?"
The boy swallowed slowly, "I...yes. Yes, I'm fine...excuse me, I need to do something very quickly..." He stammered out before he walked away towards the trees in a rush.
Chiron sighed as he watched the young man leave, before turning to the now stationary mummy. "...so who will be taking the Oracle back to the attic?"
Cyrus walked with nervous speed brimming in his steps. Leaning onto a tree, he panted as sweat dripped from his nose. "W-what the hell...? Why did I see all of them?"
He grimaced as he struggled to regain his composure. As he shifted and leaned back against the tree, he looked up at the sky, finally beginning to calm down.
"So, that was a prophecy...but why did it take their faces in particular? So many questions..."
Cyrus bit his lip for a moment, before he reached into his coat. He fumbled for a moment before pulling out a flip cellphone.
While most demigods would balk at the idea of using cellphones due to the effect they had on monsters, Cyrus's...unique nature made the effect muted. Instead of it being a giant flare signalling them, it would be more so akin to a little smoke from a fire where you couldn't tell exactly where the fire was, but knew it was there.
Even then, he was still wary of it. But with all this craziness, desperate times seemed to call for desperate measures.
Dialing a number, he put the phone to his ear. He heard it ring just one time before a click of someone picking up reached his ears. A voice speaking Italian began to talk.
"(Boss? You never call, what's going on)?"
"(Desperate times, Formaggio. How are things over there)?"
A sigh was heard on the other side of the line. "(Things could be better Boss. Razione and Risotto are doing their best to keep things under control while you're gone, but some of the Old Blood have broken away and are being huge pains in the ass)."
"(Pains in the ass, how exactly)?"
Formaggio paused for a moment. "(Causing a ruckus and trying to take over. They may have also started trying to track you down and take you out so that they can take control...)"
"(...shit)."
The voice on the other end sighed and continued. "(Illuso and Razione are already working on figuring out who all are on your tail and where they are, but it's a slow going. The old Boss was meticulous about a lot of things, but it's all encoded. The bastard was a paranoid one, and we can't make sense of...)" The sound of something being thrown could be heard along with a loud howl of rage. "(...a lot of it. It's starting to drive some of our more...not so calm members up the walls)."
Cyrus sighed and rubbed one of his temples. "(Just keep me updated on whatever you all find Formaggio. That's all...and try to keep Ghiaccio from going off the rails too far..)?"
"(I can try I guess. Alright, we'll do our best to keep you posted Bo- Ghiaccio what are you- that's the fucking TV you assho-)!" Cyrus hung up.
The overcoated teen grumbled a little as he walked back towards the camp. "Well this is going to be just peachy."
"Cyrus!" A dark blur hit the boy in the chest, wrapping around him. Looking down, Cyrus noticed that it was Nico hugging him. The ten-year old looked up at him with a smile. "You're back! I'm glad you're okay. I...Bianca and I were worried about you."
He gave a reassuring smile to the kid as he ruffled the boy's hair, much to his protests. "Thanks Nico, I appreciate it but I'm fine now."
Nico nodded happily, "Good...Oh! Chiron mentioned that he wanted you to hurry over to the Big House for this big meeting they're having. Something to do with that weird green mist thingy. Bianca's already there too." He finished with a pout. His big sis left him all bored and alone!
Cyrus smiled down at the boy, "Oh you poor thing." He remarked with a chuckle as he looked up at the Big House. He groaned inwardly, "Well then, it's best not to keep them waiting."
"Can I come?" Nico asked. Cyrus shook his head, making an apologetic expression to the small boy. "I'm afraid not Nico. Don't worry though, maybe next time. Now off you go, back to your cabin, we'll talk and have some fun later."
Placated, the younger di Angelo nodded excitedly and ran off. As he watched the boy go, Cyrus turned to look at the building ahead and sighed, adjusting his coat.
He could hear the sounds of argument as he entered the room. Chief among those voices, was Zoe's.
"I am telling thee that this meeting is pointless!" She proclaimed, slamming her fist on the table. "Milady needs to be rescued, so the Hunters must leave immediately!"
"Except, the Oracle approached Cyrus, not you Zoe. Plus, it said, 'United as one, Hunters and Campers prevail.' You need us." Thalia retorted smugly, with Zoe snarling in response. Oh how fun it was to rile up that annoying hunter!
The hunter looked over at Chiron, who nodded. "She is correct. The quest was issued to Cyrus, so even if you wanted to leave for Artemis, you wouldn't be able to go."
"A quest you say?" Everyone turned to see Cyrus walking into the room. As he looked around, it seemed that all the counselors were present, as well as Chiron, Mr. D, Zoe, and Grover. He grabbed a chair and turned it, sitting down as if he were on a horse. Chiron nodded at him, and the boy grumbled in response. "Wonderful. You'll forgive me if I'm not jumping for joy."
Bianca tilted her head in confusion. "Why not?" Everyone looked at her, and her face burned red with embarrassment.
"Simply put, they tend to be pains in the ass from what I understand," Cyrus said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "What was that anyway, with all the green mist? I saw three people in there, with one of them being dead. I take it that's not common?"
Chiron cleared his throat to explain. "The Oracle tends to use the faces of those familiar to whoever she gives her prophecies in order to make it easier to understand."
"Well color me as not understanding much," Cyrus replied with a weak chuckle.
Annabeth leaned over to rub his shoulder gently, before turning to the rest of the gathered counselors. "I guess we're going to break down the prophecy, yeah?"
"'To the Goddess in Chains, shall six of you go.' Well that's pretty simple, we send six people on this quest to go rescue Artemis," Grover piped up as he munched on a Pepsi can.
"And, they have to be a mixed group. Hunters and Campers." Silena added with a nod to Thalia who had brought it up earlier.
"'As the Bane of Olympus shows the trail...' That is what Milady was saying she would hunt before she left us in DC." Zoe pondered, her eyebrows scrunched up as she thought it over.
The daughter of Athena sat back in her chair, stumped a little. "'And one doomed to the Titan's burden vast'...I feel like I know this one, but I just can't recall it..." Cyrus winced quietly. He had a feeling he knew, but didn't say anything quite yet.
Darius grimaced. "Well this is all great, but the rest doesn't seem so simple. Like, what's all this crap about 'And in the land lacking rain, five face the Stand User's foes'? Who's this 'Stand User' supposed to be? And what is a 'Stand' that they're using?"
Cyrus flinched a little at that, drawing attention. He sighed. It appears today would be the day a few secrets came out. "The 'Stand User' would be me in this case."
"What?" Lee Fletcher asked, puzzled. "What does that even mean?"
Charlie tilted his head, regarding Cyrus with curiosity. "Come to think of it, one of the verses was 'The Mysteries of D4C revealed at last.' That's what you call your ability, right?"
Mr. D, who had been idly flipping through a wine magazine, suddenly peered over it to look at Cyrus as well. "And what is this about 'foes' Sion? What kind of past do you have?" The God's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Cyrus's eyes burned right back, as he responded calmly but coolly. "My past is my own. I will not speak of it unless it is relevant, so please leave it be. And my name, is Cyrus!"
"Yes, yes, whatever Cyclops." The Wine God shrugged him off, returning to his magazine.
The raven-maned teen scowled before turning back to the rest of them and sighing. "As for what a Stand is..."
He cracked his neck, before summoning D4C.
Thalia was expecting a lot of things during this meeting. Clashing with Zoe a lot? Check.
Everyone hashing out the prophecy and trying to understand it? Check.
Her best friend suddenly summoning some weird demon looking thing? Not a check.
Cyrus's eyes glowed for a moment, flaring with fuchsia light as a...thing, seemed to materialize from behind him, floating in the air. (3)
"What the fu-!" "What is that thing?" Various exclamations resounded throughout the room.
Grover spat out what was left of the tin can he was chowing down on, half the room's jaws dropped and the other half blinked rapidly to try and understand what they were looking at. Zoe in particular backed away, her eyes narrowing at the (potential) threat.
The figure was a tall, light-blue colored humanoid. It had glowing fuchsia eyes and no mouth, like it had a mask of some kind over it. It had fuchsia stitching all over its body, similar to a baseball's. It was pretty thin looking, but something told Thalia that she would not want to deal with this thing in a fight. The most notable thing she saw about it was that it had huge horns atop its head, similar to the ears of a rabbit, which made her smile a little.
Cyrus cleared his throat, before gesturing to the strange humanoid. "This, is a Stand."
"I...I see." Chiron stammered out, struggling to regain his composure, "In all my years, I have never seen something like this..."
Annabeth snapped out of her daze before narrowing her eyes at it, her mind suddenly going hyperactive. "So this is your Stand? What do they do? Why is it called a Stand? Wh-"
Cyrus clamped a hand over her mouth, laughing quietly. "Jeez Annie, breathe for a moment, I'll explain it if you'll just listen."
"As I was saying, this a Stand." The humanoid simply continued to float, its apathetic gaze unblinking as it scanned the room, "And they're named that, because they 'Stand' by your side. They're essentially manifestations of one's soul and psyche, if that makes sense."
"It doesn't," Percy muttered quietly while Annabeth and Chiron nodded in understanding, while everyone else was still trying to process that there was this strange being floating next to Cyrus.
Thalia's eyes narrowed as she began to connect some dots.
Zoe growled a little, her eyes fixed on the floating figure. "So this...Stand of thee. What does it do?"
Cyrus just continued onwards. "Stands will generally have abilities that come with their manifestations, abilities that the User can wield. In my case, I can use its abilities and its strength, speed, and precision in battle."
And just like that, two dots connected. "This is D4C, isn't it?" Thalia asked bluntly.
The boy regarded her for a moment, before his eyes twinkled, making her blush a little. "Got it in one Thals. This," He gestured to the Stand, "is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, otherwise known as D4C."
Thalia stared at him for a solid 30 seconds. "...you named your power, after an AC/DC song?"
Everyone suddenly snickered, finally breaking free of their shock. Cyrus narrowed his eyes at the group. "Technically, I didn't name it. And it's a good name, so shush!" He retorted defensively.
Thalia smirked at him, before getting up and walking over to him. "So, this is how you manage to teleport around everywhere, huh Bamf-Boy? This...Stand?"
Cyrus shrugged and nodded, "Yeah, pretty much. All Stands have an ability that they can use, and obviously, if the Stand can use it, so can the User."
Mr. D's eyes narrowed as he peered over his magazine, but he kept silent. Grover slowly walked over to D4C, hesitantly reaching over to try and poke its shoulder. The Stand turned and touched his finger with its own, making the poor satyr flinch.
Smirking at the startled Grover, Cyrus continued as the Stand continued to hover. "Stands come in all shapes and sizes because they're manifestations of the User's soul. Each one is unique and has it's own strengths and weaknesses."
"So what's yours? I'm liking the Bunny ears it's got," Thalia quipped, pointing to D4C's incredibly large horns.
Cyrus thought for a moment, before smirking. "Nah, I'll tell all that later. Gotta keep some things to myself. And thank you! The horns add a lot I think. Nice and horny." He added at the end with a teasing grin.
The daughter of Zeus blushed at the innuendo, as did many of the girls in the room, before scowling. "Perv..."
"So when they mention your foes...do they mean other people like you?" Bianca piped up again. Cyrus's formerly smiling visage turned grim as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"I...it's possible. I've made enemies just like everyone else, so I don't know. But that doesn't matter at the moment." Cyrus added to cut off anymore questions, dismissing D4C which vanished just as quickly as it appeared, "It's time to get this show on the road. How are we going to do this? I take five other people with me?"
Zoe grumbled, before standing up and nodding. "Thou art the quest leader. I and four other Hunters shall accompany thee. We leave at dawn."
Thalia snarled as she stood up as well, "The hell you are! The prophecy says 'campers' not camper as in singular!"
"I suppose thou art volunteering then?" Zoe spat in response, "I think not! Thou shalt hinder our movements!"
"Oh you little-!" Thalia growled as she raised a fist, her blue eyes sparking.
"Enough!" Slam! The splintering of wood made everyone jump.
Cyrus's eye twitched as D4C's fist was firmly embedded in the table. The Stand's cold gaze seemed to make everyone shiver. "As I recall, I was the quest leader right? I believe I will be the one picking who comes with me," He stated calmly, diffusing the situation. "Is that understood?"
Hearing nothing, his and his Stand's eyes glowed menacingly. "I said, is that understood?!" He said bitingly. Everyone nodded with great speed after that, having seen the destructive power Cyrus was capable of. Some of the guys were sweating a bit considering how intimidating he could be. Meanwhile just like last time, the camp girls were blushing quite a bit, some more than others. Annabeth was blushing faintly as well, though she was more intrigued by how the Stand acted and moved according to Cyrus's (probably mental) commands.
No one noticed Thalia biting her lip in the background.
Cyrus muttered to himself as D4C disappeared once again, leaning back in his chair as he thought for a moment. His gaze fell on the silver-circlet wearing huntress. "Alright Zoe, you'll come with. It's only fair considering Artemis is your leader, so it wouldn't make sense for me to tell you to stay back. Pick one of your hunters and you both will join us at the camp entrance at dawn."
Zoe sighed, unhappy with the situation, but unable to do very much about it. She nodded begrudgingly, "Very well, Phoebe and I shall meet thee then. She is one of our best trackers and healers."
Cyrus gave her a quick nod and went to move onto his next choice, before two voices spoke up.
"Wait...Phoebe's the tall girl right? Built like a tank?" "The one who shot my helmet up with arrows?" The Stoll twins asked, one after the other. Zoe narrowed her eyes at the two, but nodded. The two grinned, a twinkle in their eyes. A pink twinkle.
The Stand User's eyes narrowed, quickly vanishing from his place in his chair and reemerging behind them. He grabbed the two, smacking their heads together. The two twins stood there, swaying for a moment before shaking their heads. "What just happened?" They asked in complete unison.
"I knew something was off...you guys weren't talking as much as you usually do. You have no clue what was happening huh?" The Stolls still seemed a bit out of it, but nodded.
Cyrus nodded in understanding, "You both were being influenced by something, not sure what. It didn't take full control over you, but I could tell it was suggesting things to your thoughts."
Travis and Connor scowled at that. What happened to them? "Planning a prank it looks like on Phoebe? Understandable considering she beat you two...I wonder..."
The boy muttered, snatching the shirt from their hands with D4C, letting the Stand hold it gingerly. Using the enhanced senses granted by D4C, (4) he gingerly sniffed the shirt, before wrinkling his nose in disgust. "Blegh! Disgusting! Centaur blood? Where the hell...?"
Travis raised his hands up, along with his brother, their eyes wide. "Hold on, we have no clue about this stuff! We don't have any issue with Phoebe!" Cyrus nodded, tossing the shirt over to Chiron, who had a deep frown on his face. He knew the boys could be very prank-happy with people, but not to go as far as poisoning someone.
"We're getting off track. We have our hunters for this quest." Cyrus said as he retook his seat. Zoe, seeing that there was no need for her to stay, stood up and left to go prepare her hunters. Nodding as she left, he turned to the rest of the gathered campers.
"Right...now I have to pick who I go with from the campers huh?" The raven-maned Stand User groaned mentally as he could feel Thalia's determined glare on him, "Gimme a break..."
AN: Ooh things are heating up huh? A new prophecy? What are Risotto and Ghiaccio doing in this world? Who is Razione and who was that strange figure that Cyrus saw at the end of the Oracle's prophecy?
Plus, we got to see how the campers and hunters reacted to D4C's reveal. While one mystery of D4C is revealed to the group, the rest are not! I wonder if Cyrus will ever tell them...
Notes:
(1) The same pose and such that Valentine makes when fighting Wekapipo and Diego when Wekapipo's steel ball goes clean through his face leaving a Menger Sponge hole.
(2) Interesting flashback huh? As for the stand that was called against D4C, it is named after the Power Metal Band Judicator. You'll learn the truth of it all later of course...
(3) Right, generally only Stand Users can see other Stands and things like that, but of course we're switching things up here. The reasons as to why they can all see D4C will be revealed later.
(4) Having a close range power Stand, much like Star Platinum and Crazy Diamond, it stands to reason that D4C (and by extension Cyrus) would also have enhanced senses and reflexes. While he does not have the stupidly good eyesight and precision that Star Platinum does, with Jotaro being able to grab bullets out of the air and see multiple miles away, there must be some level of increased senses that comes with possessing a close range power stand like D4C because we can see examples of other close range Stands being used and having enhanced senses.
And that's it for the notes!
I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and please do review and leave me some solid criticism! It really helps me out and shows me where and how I need to improve so you guys get a good story out of it.
Cheers,
Beowulf
