Chapter One
As Hermione Granger wandered around the restricted section of the library, a bright magenta book caught her eye. She opened it, gasped, and fell to the floor. When she got up, she heard so many thoughts, whizzing round her head, giving her a headache.
"Does Ernie know I like him?"
"I hope Snape doesn't scold me today.."
"I still miss Cedric so much.."
Then she realised these were the thoughts of the people who were currently in the library; Hannah Abbot, Neville Longbottom, and Cho Chang. She decided to use this power to her advantage, rather than wasting time figuring out why this happened. She went to the Head Girl dormitory, dressed in her best outfit and set off to the Gryffindor common room. Unfortunately, she bumped into someone on the way. Draco Malfoy.
"Merlin, she looks good. Why do I have to have a crush on Granger, of all people? Better not act suspicious, we were made to hate each other."
Hermione gasped, and flushed crimson. She never knew Malfoy had a crush on her. Lucky she liked Ron, and not Malfoy.
"Granger, where are you off to? Going for a midnight stroll with Potter and Weasel? Two-faced mudblood, how worse can you get?" smirked Malfoy.
"At least my parents are civilised and mean no harm." muttered Hermione under her breath.
"Cute, and smart. She'd do better than Pansy, probably, but that Weasley keeps hogging her, when all he does is snog Lavender Brown. She keeps blushing as if she can hear my thoughts. I hope not."
Hermione turned even more red, and walked off.
As she walked in the common room, her head was bombarded by thoughts. She tried to look at Ron and focus on him, but Lee Jordan, Ginny Weasley, and Seamus Finnigan kept getting in the way.
"Hello Ron! Have you seen Harry anywhere?" asked Hermione.
"Harry this, Harry that, for Merlin's beard, why does she never notice me? I try so hard, and Krum takes it, or Harry. I bet Neville's next!"
Hermione blushed guiltily.
"'Mione, I need to talk to you." said Ron seriously.
