She didn't remember how she passed on, she didn't even remember anything being wrong with her so sickness was unlikely, what she did remember was her family.

She remembered all the moments she spent with them, the happy memories they shared and the hardships they went through together, she remembered her world, how it had its problems but was still her home nonetheless.

She wanted to go back, she wanted to see her family again, hold her children again and say how much she loved them and how much she missed them, to live her life again, to be her and not the boy whose body she inhabited.

Naruto sighed as he looked at the full moon from his apartment, longing for the people she lost, for the life she lost, a single tear fell from his eye as he stared at the sight of the moon, all its glory displayed in the sky.

"I want to go home" He whispered wistfully.

"Perhaps you can" A melodious voice said.

He was startled, looking around everywhere he could not find the source of the voice.

"Worry not my child" The voice said again and Naruto could feel himself calm down.

He saw how a ray of light came from the moon and illuminated his apartment, the light looked cold but he felt a warmth from it that he missed dearly, the one she felt when her own mother held her. From that light a silhouette descended and soon he could see a beautiful woman, her skin was pale and her features delicate, the two horns on her head and third eye on her forehead gave her an exotic beauty and despite how foreign they looked he couldn't help but find that they added to her look in a unique way.

"Kaguya" He couldn't help himself from whispering as he was entranced by the aura the woman had.

"Indeed my child" She said softly, her tone regal but still comforting.

He just stared at her, overwhelmed by everything the goddess was, seeing this she spoke.

"Tell me child, why are you so sad?"

He was snapped out of his trance and felt compelled to answer her truthfully.

"I-I miss my family"

Her white pupilless eyes seemed to shine and she said.

"I see, but it's not this boy's family you miss, is it?"

He was taken aback and could only shake his head, she smiled softly and he was stunned by its beauty, she looked at him and said.

"Tell me your story, my child"

And he told her, told her of another world, of all the tragedies and the wonders it possessed, told her about the future she saw, he told her of the life she led, of her children and how much she missed them, of the deep sadness she felt at being apart from them.

In the end, tears were flowing freely across his face and the goddess put her hand on his shoulder.

"Would you like to see them again?" She asked.

"O-Of course, more than anything" Naruto said immediately, hope filling his chest.

She gave him a sad smile and said.

"Sadly I'm still sealed away, I don't have enough power to grant your wish right now"

Naruto looked down but soon he perked up.

"Does that mean that if you're released you can let me see my family again?" He said, his voice full of hope.

"Should I be at my full power reuniting you should be no problem"

He stood up rapidly and grabbed her hand, he bowed his head and said.

"Then I'll release you, you'll be free and then I beg you to let me have my family again"

Instead of pulling away the goddess gave Naruto's hand a comforting squeeze and said.

"Gladly, I'm a mother too, I understand how much we love our children and how much it pains us to be away from them"

Naruto rose his head, his eyes met hers and he whispered.

"Thank you"

She smiled.

Years Later

The world stood still as Zetsu betrayed Madara, the ancient Uchiha ended by the hand of his most trusted ally, the relief at the threat he posed being ended was short-lived as Zetsu began to take over Madara's body.

They were wary of approaching them, and from the body of the ancient Uchiha came a goddess, her power radiated, its depth suffocating. They all watched carefully as Kaguya, the goddess of the moon, took her first breath in thousands of years.

She turned her gaze to the group and immediately her eyes locked with Naruto's blue ones, she flew towards them slowly and while the rest of team 7 stood on guard at this new enemy Naruto began to slowly walk towards it.

Kakashi tried to pull his student back but he stepped out of the Susanoo and to their shock the Infinite Tsukuyomi didn't affect him, as soon as he was out of it he began to float towards the goddess, they met in the middle.

"My goddess" Naruto whispered, to the shock of the remaining members of team 7.

"You have done well, my child" Kaguya said and Naruto thought that her voice was just as majestic as it was that night all those years ago.

They watched in shock as the goddess took Naruto's hands and the blonde bowed to her, Naruto rose his head and the tears flowed freely from his eyes, he looked into her awe-inspiring white orbs and sobbed.

"My family, my children, please"

Suddenly he felt a pain in his chest, he looked down and saw the hole in it, growing as more and more of his chest turned to dust, he looked at her and for a moment hurt and sadness flashed through his eyes before the sympathy in hers managed to calm his fears of betrayal.

"Hush my child" She said, her voice compassionate. "When you wake up they will be waiting for you"

Naruto managed to smile one final time before he was consumed, his entire body turned to dust before the eyes of his old team, Kaguya turned her gaze to them, and despite their confusion, hurt and fear they attacked.

The final desperate battle for the sake of mankind began, its last defenders doomed to fail before the might of the moon goddess.

In Another Time, In Another Place

She opened her eyes, the sunlight was blinding for a moment before they adjusted, her body felt weak but she still had enough strength to look around.

She saw him, looking so different from how she remembered him yet still so similar, the boy who was sitting in a chair glanced at her before the book he was reading fell from his hands and he bolted up.

"M-Mom!? You're awake!?" The boy whispered in shock.

Her eyes filled with tears as the boy snapped out of his shock and rushed to embrace her with a shout.

"Mom!"

"My son" She whispered, her throat hoarse from disuse.

Soon another child, this time a girl, barged in with tears in her eyes and hugged her too, both children were soon joined by a man and as they embraced and as tears fell freely from all of them she got back something she thought she would never have again.

She smiled.

This was just a little idea I had in my mind, most reincarnation stories have a character that couldn't be happier to leave their old life behind, in this we have a mother that would do anything to have her family back.

I don't know if you noticed but I mixed the He and She's, this OC is female but was reincarnated as a male, when speaking about Naruto I used a He but when talking about the OC's previous life I used She, just thought it was a cool idea.
