Chapter 40: The Big Three
It was a normal lunch for the new Team Quirky Magic… Thoguh Star wasn't happy, which made sense due to recent events...
"Class is going to stink so much today…" moaned Star.
"Is it because they still won't let you use magic." Said Ochaco.
"Yeah!" said Star.
"How is your magic teacher?" asked Shoto.
"Still injured." Muttered Star.
"What happened?" asked Izuku.
"I have no idea… or he's faking it." Said Star.
"Why would he fake it?" asked Todoroki.
Both Ochaco and Tenya sighed.
"You hadn't dealt with him yet." Said Star.
"Is he really that bad?" asked Izuku who has also not dealt with him yet.
Before Star could answer a voice called out "Star!"
They turned and saw Nejire heading to their table with two teenage boys.
One of them was the blonde boy that Izuku had met during Mewberty.
The other was a boy with spikey black dark and pointy ears who seemed to want to disappear.
"Hey Nejire!" cheered Star.
"Can we sit with you?" asked Nejire.
Thankfully there was plenty of room at the table which could fit many people.
"Of course!" said Star.
The three sat down.
"Sorry I wanted to talk to you sooner but I've been busy!" said Nejire.
"It's fine!" said Star.
"So you're the magical princess from another dimension." Said the blonde boy.
"Yep!" said Star, "Wait… aren't you the guy I was going to chase had you know… actually went to plan?"
"I am!" laughed the boy.
"So you're the girl met Star during her internship." Said Ochaco.
"Sure am!" said Nejire, "I'm Nejire Hado!"
"Mirio Togata, it's nice to meet you!" said the blonde boy.
The dark haired boy was still trying to disappear.
"Is he okay?" asked Izuku.
"He's just really shy!" said Togata.
"Tamaki Amajiki…" he managed to get out.
"Wait… aren't you the big three?" asked Tenya remembering something he heard.
"Wait! You mean the three strongest hero students?" asked Ochaco.
"That's right!" said Togata.
"Awesome!" said Star, "You should have told me you were one of the strongest students in school!"
"I guess it didn't come up." Laughed Nejire.
"You didn't tell any of them what really happened in Hosu?" Tenya asked Nejire quietly.
"Of course not!" said Nejire.
Tenya nodded.
"So has your wand been working well?" asked Nejire.
Star sighed, "You just had to bring that up…" sighed Star.
"Why? What's wrong?" asked Nejire.
"Ever since I had to blow up my wand it hasn't been working… and my magic teacher is injured so he hasn't been any help." Said Star.
"Is he okay?" asked Togata.
"Probably…" said Star.
"Do we want to know?" asked Togata.
"Nope!" said Ochaco.
"It's probably for the best." Said Tenya.
"Oh by the way!" said Izuku, "Togata, I was wondering about your quirk…"
"Wait you met before?" asked Star.
"Yeah… during that incident." Said Togata picking up Star didn't like talking about Mewberty.
"You put me and Kacchan near him." Said Izuku.
"Oh…" said Star blushing at this.
"I tried to use my Quirk to escape." Said Togata, "But the only thing I escape were my clothes."
"What?" asked Ochaco.
"Wait your quirk made you naked?" asked Star, "So that's why Nezu wanted me to chase you…"
"We shouldn't be speaking about this in the cafeteria." Said Tenya.
"For a number of reasons." Said Shoto.
"Yeah just realized we shouldn't be talking this over food." Said Star.
"You have a point.," laughed Togata, "I can talk about my quirk without bring up that side effect."
Togata began to explain his Quirk to Izuku. It was called Permutation, it was a quirk that made him completely intangible, even to light and air meaning he could see or breathe while using it.
"Wait I remember you from that Sports Festival where you ended up…" said Izuku.
"Not in front of the food!" scolded Star.
Togata laughed at that while Izuku sighed.
"Hey you mentioned that you can user your magic right now… what are you going to do without your magic." Said Nejire realizing something.
"Oh until Glossaryck has ideas I plan to use weapons for the time being." Said Star.
"Is that a good idea?" asked Togata.
"Trust me… Star is very intimidating with weapons." Said Tenya.
He shuddered remembering what happened when she trained him against Stain.
"If he shuddered that must be a good sign." laughed Togata.
"I saw her trying to attack him with a knife." Said Shoto.
"Why did you try to attack him with a knife?" asked Amajiki sounding a bit concerned.
"Long story…" said Star .
"It is indeed a long story." Agreed Tenya.
The other first years knew what the story was… her helping him learning how to fight Stain… also Nejire figured the same thing due to being involved with the cover up as well.
Togata just shrugged it off while Amajiki really didn't react other than still being shy and trying to disappear.
"I'm kind of surprised you're not surprised that we're weird a lot of younger students are surprised!" laughed Nejire.
"Well considering the power houses of this class…" said Ochaco.
Izuku had started to go over notes about Togata's quirk in a notebook and started a mutter storm.
Shoto was impassively staring at his soba.
"Why are you looking at me that way?" asked Star.
That was when they heard Bakugo yell out "YOU WANT TO SAY THAT AGAIN!"
"Okay! That's a really good point." Said Nejire.
Ochaco giggled at this.
"You know…" said Togata, "I wouldn't mind facing off against some of the strongest in your class."
"Wait what?" asked Star.
"I'm not busy after school." Said Togata, "How would you all like to spar?"
"Wait are you asking spar all of us?" asked Ochaco.
"You're not busy are you?" asked Togata.
"Nope! Thanks to my dimensional scissors have plenty of time to just hang out." Said Star.
"Dimensional scissors?" asked Togata.
"It's the go to transpiration for other dimensions." Said Star, "Also I can open portals in just this one so it's easy to get them home without any problems."
"Except for getting in trouble if they ever find out Star has it." Said Ochaco.
"Actually I think they figured out I got my hands on a pair an decided to pretend I don't have them after what happened…" said Star.
"That makes sense." Said Shoto.
"Really Star?" asked Tenya.
"You almost died." Said Star.
Tenya sighed realized she had a point.
"So we do have time… and maybe a spar will help with my weapons." Said Star.
"I wouldn't mind." Said Izuku knowing he had to get more experience with fighting with Full Cowl.
"I think I want to sit out…" said Ochaco.
"My arm is acting up." Admitted Tenya.
"I'm not in the mood." Said Shoto.
"That's fine but you two are up for it?" asked Togata.
"Oh yeah!" yelled Star.
"I am." Izuku laughed nervously, after all he was facing off against one of the strongest hero students in school.
"All right! Sounds like a plan." Said Togata.
So that afternoon they managed to get one of the outdoor fields to use as a spar.
Star had gotten a rather large mace ready.
"Star are you sure it's a good idea?" asked Izuku.
"He's the strongest guy in school, of course it's fine!" said Star.
All three of them were wearing their gym unform.
"So let's kick his butt!" yelled Star.
"Are you two ready?" asked Togata.
On the sidelines the other members of the Big Three and Team Quirky Magic were watching.
"Do you think Star will be able to fight him off?" asked Ochaco.
"If Star could use her magic, but right now I don't know." Said Nejire.
"Plus I don't think that they will be able to fight off Mirio when he gets serious." Said Amajiki.
"You do have a point." Said Nejire.
And so the friendly spar got started.
Star ran in with her mace.
"Wait Star!" said Izuku.
She tried to hit him with her mace but Mirio disappeared suddenly.
"Star! Were you listening to him explaining his quirk?" asked Izuku.
"What?" asked Star.
That was when suddenly Mirio emerged from the ground with a jumping upcut, hitting Star right in the face.
He was also very, very naked.
Tenya glared at the naked Togata. His two classmates on the sidelines assumed it was because he was naked and it went against his usual things about it…
However Nejire noticed something about his face and smiled figuring out what was really going on.
"Oh yeah… sorry about that!" laughed Togata, "I was hoping you wouldn't see little Mirio."
"You might be naked but I'm still ready to fight!" said Star.
"Can you please confirm that you don't go around naked when you're doing hero work!" yelled Tenya.
"Don't worry. My costume is made with my DNA! I don't have to worry about being naked while using my quirk." Said Togata.
"Opening!" yelled Star.
However this wasn't the opening as she thought it was, as he partially activated his quirk and the mace went through him.
He was then able to punch Star away.
"Oh come on!" yelled Star getting up.
Izuku just watched, he had listened and analyzed the quirk after all…
But he had to plan things out.
Though that didn't mean he was just going to let his friend getting beaten up.
"Star! Wait! We need to plan things out!" called out Izuku.
"It's called kicking his butt!" yelled Star, "I can handle him!"
"Star! You have to remember you're not using magic!" said Izuku.
"I know that! I have to fight like this until I get advice from Glossaryck!" said Star.
That was hen noticed the Togata was gone.
He then came out through the ground again hitting Izuku with an upcut.
"Hey! Izuku you can't stand around!" yelled Nejire, "If you don't move he'll be able to get you!"
"Thanks for the advice!" called out Izuku.
He knew he had to keep moving.
Star did as well.
She grabbed her mace and got ready to fight.
"Star… I do have a plan…" said Izuku.
"What is it?" asked Star.
"Attack him right when he emerges from the ground…" said Izuku.
"Wow… he must have told you quite a bit of his quirk." Said Star.
Izuku nodded… he was very thorough in the conversation he had with him.
Star sighed…
"You have a good point…" she sighed, "He already punched me twice."
"Yeah." Said Izuku.
Both Star and Izuku realized they were standing in one place for two long and got out of the way right when he emerged from the ground.
"You're getting better" said Togata.
"How is he doing that?" asked Star.
"He going into the ground, if he stops using his quirk he get launched out." Explained Izuku.
"Oh… okay…" said Star.
Izuku nodded.
"Oh so you're already coming up with a plan." Said Togata, "I guess I did tell you a lot on how my quirk works."
Izuku blushed a little.
"All right! Let's get ready for the attack!" said Star.
Izuku nodded.
They waited for him to once again phased through the ground.
And both of them were on the lookout of when he'd pop out.
And he did.
"Now!" yelled Izuku.
Izuku jumped high into the air and Star got her mace ready for the attack.
The went through but Izuku got a good hit in.
However Togata managed to punch the two him very hard and both of them fell to the ground .
Ochaco winced as it was clear that the match was over.
"You guys okay?" asked Ochaco.
"Just my pride hurt a little." Said Star.
"I'm fine…" said Izuku.
"Hey! Star! I'm sure that if you could use magic you would have had done a better job." Reassured Togata.
He also looked at Izuku and flashed a grin at him.
Izuku looked at the older boy and smiled.
It was clear that the two of them were going to be good friends.
Star sighed, knowing she should have known that a fight with one of the strongest students in school would turned out like that…
She then looked at Togata and said to him, "Can you please put on pants…"
"Of course!" said Togata.
"But you can leave your shirt off if you want to…" said Star.
"Star!" scolded Tenya partially out of jealously.
And with that they met The Big Three… and a friendship was born between the two groups...
And how knew would happen with that friendship in the future…
