Chapter 41: Starstruck
They had realized that they didn't always have to hang out at Star's house after school. After all she had scissors that could take them anywhere at all.
They could go wherever they wanted.
And here they were behind a Krispy Kreme waiting for the donuts to get tossed out .
"Star you don't have to do this…" said Ochaco.
"But the donuts are good!" said Star waiting in the dumpster.
"Star… it's food their throwing out… you shouldn't eat it." Said Tenya.
"I don't care…" said Star.
Izuku and Shoto just watched without saying anything… knowing that trying to convince her might not work.
That was when the person who worked in the donut shop showed up to toss away the donuts. Then she noticed the UA students.
"Okay…" said the woman unsure how to respond to the sight of them.
After all it was a bunch of UA students who made it to the Sports Festival Tournament.
"Just pretend you didn't see us…" said Ochaco.
"I will… also I know for a fact no one will believe me…" said the woman.
She placed the bad of old donuts into the other dumpster that was there and left questioning her life choices.
However as it turned out there was someone else in the alleyway they were in.
A purple haired woman in a very dirty dress/armor combo. She got to donuts first.
However Star recognized the woman.
"NO! WAY!" yelled Star, "It's Mina Loveberry!"
They all looked at the woman then at Star.
"What?" asked Ochaco.
"I remember you brought her up before…" said Shoto.
"When?" asked Izuku.
"During the USJ." Said Shoto.
"Oh…" said Izuku remembering they ended up in the same zone together.
Shoto nodded.
"She is the legendary warrior of Mewni! She's pretty much what All Might is here!" said Star .
"Are you sure it's her… I mean what would she be doing on Earth?" asked Ochaco.
"Oh I should ask her that!" said Star .
She approached the crazy woman.
"Hi Mina! Big fan!" said Star.
"Please to meet you!" said the woman apparently named Mina Loveberry.
"So what are you doing here on Earth?" asked Star.
"The doctors put me on sabbatical from too much stress." Said Loveberry (as to not be confused for Mina Ashido).
They all watched as Star talked to the crazy woman. It was clear that Star surely believed that she was Loveberry.
"Should we separate them?" asked Shoto.
"I believe I should call Star's mother." Said Tenya.
"Wait… you have her number?" asked Ochaco.
"She entrusted me with it after our kidnapping." Said Tenya.
"Oh that makes sense." Said Ochaco.
Tenya took out his phone and called Queen Moon hoping she would answer.
In Mewni, Queen Moon was signing as paper work.
She saw that her mirror had gotten a call and approached it.
She answered it and saw that it was voice only.
"Hello?" she answered.
"Queen Moon…" said Tenya's voice.
"What happened…" sighed Queen Moon knowing that whatever was bad, or at least very annoying.
"We found a woman that Star claims is from Mewni…" said Tenya's voice, "Mina Loveberry."
Queen Moon paled.
"Does she have purple hair done in a buns and pigtails hair style?" asked Queen Moon.
"She does." Said Tenya.
"Oh no… Oh no…" said Queen Moon, "Keep an eye on her, I will be there as soon as I can. And don't let her near any people with Mutation Quirks… it might set her off."
She quickly hung up, she knew she had to unfortunately finish some of the paperwork before going to earth.
"Oh Mina…" sighed Queen Moon.
Back on Earth…
Tenya ended phone call and realized that this person was indeed Mina Loveberry.
He looked towards Star who was talking with Loveberry.
"You can really tell me how to be a warrior like you!" said Star.
"Indeed I can but you must follow my every word!" said Mina Loveberry.
"So…" said Ochaco.
"From Queen Moon's description that is Mina Loveberry… but what she said left me horribly confused." Said Tenya.
"What do you mean?" asked Izuku.
"She mentioned not have her see those with Mutation Quirks." Said Tenya.
"That's weird…" said Ochaco.
However Izuku began to think about it.
"All right! Teach me all you know!" said Star.
The four looked at each other.
"We're not doing a Star thing in this dimension for a while…" said Ochaco.
Shoto nodded.
And so they decided to follow the two as Loveberry began to give Star tips on how to be a warrior.
They made sure that they didn't bother people too much, as it appeared that Star was following a crazy lady's advice, like making a weapon (which was just a pinecone on a string).
Also they were making plans of attack at a playground.
"When is Star's mom going to show up…" said Ochaco.
"I have no idea." Said Tenya.
"Wait… I just put it together…" said Izuku, "The reason why she doesn't want her to see someone with a mutation…"
"Why?" asked Shoto.
"Monsters…" said Izuku.
Shoto was confused as he hadn't known much about Mewni.
But both Ochaco and Tenya paled.
"She thinks she might mistake someone for a monster." Said Ochaco.
Izuku nodded.
"Is that bad?" asked Shoto.
"Yeah…" said Izuku.
"You don't think she will attack someone will you?" asked Ochaco.
"We'll just have to see…" said Tenya.
"What do we do if she does attack someone?" asked Ochaco.
They all realized that it would be bad…
But still they watched hoping that Star would fight her back if something happened.
However what was going to next happened next would be something they wouldn't expect…
Loveberry was explaining another part of being a warrior.
"You have to ensure what happened here doesn't happen in Mewni!" said Loveberry.
"Yeah!" yelled Star, "Wait… what?"
"It's true…" said Loveberry, "There are monsters everywhere in this world… but barely anyone does anything…"
"They're not monsters…" said Star, "They're humans… they just look like monsters…"
Something that Queen Moon drilled into Star's head was that humans came in all sorts of shapes and sizes, some looked like monsters but they were indeed human and the fact that some of her classmates didn't look human drove the point home.
"In fact there's a girl in my class who is human but she looks like a weird monster and she has the same name as you!" said Star.
"There is only one Mina Loveberry!" said Loveberry.
"No I meant her name is Mina." Said Star.
"Oh…" said Loveberry, "Still monsters are everywhere in this world! And they need to learn their place."
"They're not monsters!" yelled Star.
"They are! And they need to be stopped and shown that they don't own this world! Like that one!" yelled Mina.
She pointed to a nearby person with a mutation… a person that Star recognized and it made her body go cold.
It was Koji who was just feeding some birds.
"I don't know what he's up but he's up to something!" said Loveberry
"He not up to something… he's not a monster and he is the kindest sweetest guy I know!" said Star.
"He's a monster!" yelled Loveberry, "He's trying to trick you with his monster ways!"
"We're not earth! There's very few monsters!" Star tried to argue.
Star looked at her friends who were watching nearby… that laws would prevent them from interfering.
"Stop this Mina!" yelled Star.
"No!" yelled Loveberry.
That was when suddenly Loveberry started to transform. She grew muscles becoming almost as buff as All Might, her teeth became fangs, her eyes turned compete white and her ears pointed.
She then flew towards Koji.
And punched the rock headed boy hard.
Koji was sent flying.
Izuku wasn't just standing around, while he knew he couldn't fight Loveberry he did ran over and caught Koji without using his quirk.
Koji saw it was Izuku who caught him.
"Hey you okay?" asked Izuku.
Koji nodded.
"You monster lover!" yelled Mina, "Of course there's some here!"
Star was just in shock over what just happened.
However as she once told Bakugo, if someone were to hurt Koji in front of her, she would end them…
Her heart cheeks start glowing as she sent out a beam of magic at Mina.
"I never thought someone from Mewni would be a monster lover." Growled out Mina.
"He's not a monster! He's human!" yelled Star, "He's a sweet good boi! And you can't hurt him!"
"Don't you want to be a brave Mewni Warrior?" asked Mina.
"No…" said Star. "If that's what it means…"
She took of the weapon she made and threw it to the ground.
Mina picked it up and looked at Star.
It was clear that the two of them were ready to fight.
However…
"MINA! That's enough! Stand down!" yelled a voice.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when Queen Moon showed up.
"Mom?" asked Star confused.
"I called her." Said Tenya.
"My Queen!" said Loveberry.
"You're not on Mewni, there aren't any monsters here." Said Queen Moon.
"But that boy!" said Mina.
"Is a human! He might looks like a rock monster but he isn't… and from what I heard he is a very kind person…" said Queen Moon, "Also you have to return to Mewni!"
"But my doctor!" said Loveberry.
"Is a rock with a face painted on it." Said Queen Moon, "You're lucky that my daughter and her friends found you before you could attack someone else. You would have been in so much trouble…"
Loveberry looked at her queen.
"Of course…" she said.
Mina somehow created a portal and disappeared through it.
Star then collapsed on the ground crying.
Izuku was going to approach her however Koji stopped him.
"Hey! I need some help! Please!" called out Koji.
Several bird flew in and he sent them to Star to cheer her up. They perched on her shoulders and sang to her.
"Wow… Star wasn't kidding with how kind he is…" said Queen Moon.
"Yeah, but a lot of people tend to forget about him." Said Ochaco.
Even with the birds cheering her up, she was still distraught.
"Star…" said Queen Moon, "I'm sorry…"
"You knew she was crazy… and you never told me? She was my idol." Cried Star.
"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…" said Queen Moon.
"Star… when I met All Might our first meeting didn't go well…" said Izuku.
"Really?" asked Star, "What happened?"
"It's very personal, but he said something to me that made me very depressed." Said Izuku.
Everyone looked at Izuku surprised.
"But he made it up to me right away…" said Izuku, "Everything turned out for the best…"
"People mistake him for your father… I think that's more than turning out for the best…" said Queen Moon.
Izuku sighed at that., even Queen Moon didn't know all of the details, even she knew that the two were close.
"Oh right… I should explain…" realized Star, "You know how I always say that that I'm from another dimension and I have magic…"
Koji nodded and signed "It's true isn't it?"
"I'm going to guess you're asking if it's true… and it is…" sighed Star.
Koji nodded…
Still with everything it was a big event for Star as she learned the truth of her idol and it was something she didn't like.
Also Koji joined the group that knew that magic was real… so there's that too…
