Chapter 42: Starsitting
It was a girl's day at Star's castle. All six girls in the class hung and just did whatever.
"That song is annoying." Said Kyoka.
"But it's so cute!" said Star.
She once again played a song called Space Unicorn using her wand.
"Are you sure you should be using your wand to play music?" asked Tsuyu.
"It's just music… it's not like anything bad can happen." Said Star.
The other gurls looked at each other.
However that was when suddenly a portal opened up.
All of them got ready to fight, after all a sudden portal was never a good thing.
That was when Buff Frog exited the portal.
"Star Butterfly…" said Buff Frog.
He then took out a baby carriage filled with the little tadpoles that Ludo gave him.
"Buff Babies!" cheered Star.
He then started to cry.
"Please take of my babies!" he cried.
"You want a baby sitter?" asked Tsuyu.
"Yes and I hope you and your friends can help." said Buff Frog.
"Don't worry I'm the Princess of Babysitionia." Said Star.
That was when his mirror started to ring.
"Hold on for a second." Said Buff Frog.
She began to talk to the other ones on the mirror and it was clear whatever they were doing involved weapons.
But they decided to ignore it.
"You have never babysat before, have you?" asked Kyoka.
"No… but I was a baby once." Said Star.
"Really?" asked Kyoka.
"I'll help her." Said Tsuyu.
"Thanks…" said Star, "Wait is it because you're a frog?"
"No… it's because I babysit my younger siblings all the time." Said Tsuyu.
"Oh… that makes sense." Saied Star.
"Okay!" said Buff Frog once he was done with the call he hand Momo a large binder getting the feeling like she was the most responsible of the girls.
Which she was… it just helped that she put on that air.
"Babies schedules are in there!" said Buff Frog.
He turned to his little tadpoles.
"Be good to your babysitters my little babies." Said Buff Frog, then he picked up the smallest tadpole who had big sparkly eyes "Oh my little Katrina my little delicate glass pearl… you better be careful with her…"
"Don't worry we'll help Star!" said Ochaco.
He did help during the kidnapping incident, if he helped him during that it was easy to do the same for him when he needed the help.
"Take good care of them! Or else…" he said sternly.
The other iglrs were a bit nervous, but it made sense for a new dad to be like that for his babies.
"Okay! Daddy will come back at six o'clock sharp!" said Buff Frog leaving through the portal, "Be good for the babysitters!"
"Looks like we're going to babysitting for the rest of the day." Said Mina.
"Can we even trust him?" asked Kyoka, "I mean isn't he working with that monster Ludo?"
"Yeah but he helped us during that incident where I blew up my wand." Said Star.
"She's right." Said Ochaco.
"You should really tell us what happened with that?" asked Mina.
"We can't…" said Ochaco.
"Oh know government coverup and all that jazz." Said Star.
The other girls stared at the two.
"Okay then…" said Momo.
They all went to the living room.
"All right! So according the baby book it's Nap time." Said Mina.
"Looks like each one has a different way to them to sleep." Said Momo.
"Oh come on their babies! They need to have fun…" said Star.
"But they also need their sleep." Said Tsuyu.
"Okay…" said Momo taking charge.
She began to list off how the various tadpoles slept.
Katrina was supposed to be held in order to sleep so she was given to Star as she was one to be given the duty.
"So what do they do now…" said Star.
"They sleep and then we feed them." Said Momo.
"And then…" said Star.
"They sleep again…" said Momo.
"Oh come on!" said Star.
"That's the thing Star… all babies do is eat and sleep." Said Mina, "Also cry… lots and lots of crying…"
"Besides we don't want them to be awake and constantly crying." said Kyoka which really sucked for her due to her quirk enhancing her hearing.
"Tsuyu, can you help me make lunch for them?" asked Momo.
"Of course." Saied Tsuyu.
It should be noted that between the six of them it was clear that Momo and Tsuyu were the most responsible of them.
They too the baby book into the kitchen to make their food.
"Oh my…" said Momo when she found the recipe.
"Well they're frog monsters so…" said Tsuyu who wasn't disgusted by the food that much.
The living room, Star was cooing at the tadpole asleep in her arm.
She saw as the tadpoles.
"Do you think booping her wouldn't be so bad?" asked Star.
"Go for it! They are so adorable I don't think it will hurt." Said Mina.
It should come as no surprise that Mina and Star were the least responsible of the group.
"You shouldn't do that." Said Ochaco.
"Yeah… you might wake her up." Said Kyoka.
They were the two somewhere in the middle, no near the level of responsibility as Tsuyu and Momo… but also nowhere near the level of irresponsibility as Star and Mina.
"Boop that baby!" said Mina.
"Boop!" said Star poking the little tadpole in her arms.
And then suddenly the baby swole up croaking very loudly.
And unfortunately this woke up the other tadpoles who started to croak too.
In the kitchen Momo and Tsuyu heard this and looked at each other.
"I'll go see what's wrong." Said Tsuyu.
She saw the other girls were trying to get the babies to calm down.
"What happened?" asked Tsuyu.
"I booped… I booped so hard." Said Star.
"At least it's not as bad babies crying." Said Kyoka.
"Everyone else looked at Kyoka.
"Did you forget my quirk?" asked an irritated Kyoka.
"I just read the baby book!" called out Momo, "It said if their croaking to feed them."
She brought in the baby bottles.
Each girls grabbed two bottle and fed them, it also helped that there was a pair of conjoined twins so whoever got them had it easy.
Star still held Katrina.
But she was disgusted by the stuff they were eating.
"Ew… what is this stuff?" asked Star .
"Frog baby food…" mumbled Momo who really didn't like the stuff either but she wasn't going to against the father of children who weren't human.
"Can I give them cake?" asked Star, "Once their done to get rid of the stuff their eating?"
"I don't know if that's a good idea." Said Tsuyu.
"Yeah for all we know they might just puke it up." Said Mina.
Star paled at that.
"Okay you have a point." Said Star.
They were they were fed, it was clear that due to nap time being ruined they were kind of awake for a while so they just created a little safe space filled with stuffed toys where they could play.
"Once they tried we should try putting them down again." Said Momo.
"Oh their so cute!" gushed Star, "Wait idea!"
"No booping!" said Mina.
"That's not the idea, I was thinking we should send a picture to Buff Frog!" said Star.
"Oh that's actually a nice idea!" said Momo.
"For once." Said Kyoka.
"Hey!" muttered Star.
Star took out her mirror and took a picture of the little tadpoles messing around and texted Buff Frog the picture with a cute little message.
"Awe!" gushed Mina and Ochaco.
"I'm sure everything will be fine for the rest of the day." Said Momo as the tadpoles played.
Unfortunately she just had to tempt fate, because of that moment one of the tadpoles suddenly grew legs.
Followed by most of them.
"What the!" yelled Kyoka.
"Why did they suddenly grow legs!" yelled Mina.
"Because that's part of their metamorphosis." Said Tsuyu.
"Wait… were you born without arms or legs?" asked Star horrified .
"Of course not…" muttered Tsuyu, "I was however born with a tail…"
"Oh… really?" asked Star surprised.
"Yeah…" said Tsuyu.
The newly legged tadpoles started to jump around.
"That is interesting! But we have 12 babies to catch!" said Kyoka.
"11." Corrected Star picking up Katrina who was the lone tadpole who didn't undergo metamorphosis.
"I'll take care of her." Said Mina.
"Are you sure?" asked Star.
"Hey I'm probably the one who shouldn't be caroling the babies." Said Mina.
"Yeah… probably not a good idea to melt the babies,." Said Star.
Mina picked up the lone legless tadpole to make sure she didn't do anything crazy like go into the room full of bear traps.
Which Star did indeed have…
It was decided that it was best not to know why she had a room filled with bear traps…
They began to chase after the leggy babies.
Which was hard.
For most of them.
A few of them looked at Tsuyu then practically attached themselves to her, feeling like they were kindred spirits.
"Arn't you lucky." Muttered Kyoka chasing some down.
"Oh no!" yelled Ochaco.
A couple of the tadpoles were floating in midair.
"Wait their trapped you can grab them!" said Star.
"Oh you're right." Said Ochaco.
She grabbed them. Then managed to release them.
"Wait where did Kyoka go?" asked Star .
"I don't know… I saw her chaise them down… ribbit…" said Tsuyu.
That was there the ones that she was chasing them down showed up with one of them dusting off their new little legs.
The other four looked at each other in horror.
"What did they do!" yelled Ochaco in horror.
That was when Momo's cellphone started to ring.
All of the tadpoles who weren't attached themselves to Tsuyu or behind held by Ochaco heard this and started to dance to the music.
"Oh that was lucky." Said Star.
The music then stopped and Momo got a text that said "They locked me out! Please help"
Star then had her wand play Space Unicorn.
Which made the tadpoles dance in joy.
Momo let Kyoka in.
"How did they…" said Momo.
"I don't want to talk about it…" muttered Kyoka.
"Hey guys it's almost six." Said Mina still holding onto Katrina.
"You're right." Said Momo checking her phone.
"Are you really playing that song?" asked Kyoka.
"Hey the kids love it and that's what matters right now." Said Ochaco.
Kyoka sighed.
They got the tadpoles to settle down before their dad came back and took many pictures for him showing off their new legs just in case.
And soon it hit 6 and all six girls who were kind of tired, saw the portal open.
"Finally…" said Kyoka.
Star elbowed her.
Buff Frog was really beaten up and he saw that his tadpoles had their legs and he started crying.
"What's wrong?" asked Star.
"I missed tadpoles grow legs! That is important development in child development." Cried Buff Frog.
"It's probably the equivalent of seeing a baby's first steps." Said Momo.
"Oh…" said the other girls besides Tsuyu.
Tsuyu pretty much figured that out right away.
"Katrina didn't get her legs…" said Star.
"Oh daddy's little late bloomer!" said Buff Frog happy to see his little one still have her legs.
However that was when suddenly Katrina few her legs.
Buff Frog was beyond happy.
He even booped Katrina in joy.
"Thank you Star Butterfly, Gravity Girl and the rest…" said Buff Frog.
"Should we be offended he doesn't know the rest of us?" asked Mina.
"We only dealt with him like once..." said Kyoka.
"I will member this being a thing I will not forget." Said Buff Frog.
He left with his children.
"Dang it! I forgot to tell him about the Hero Monster Program." Said Star.
"You can tell him next time." Said Ochaco.
Star nodded.
"Anyone up for a nap?" asked Mina.
"Oh yeah!" said Kyoka.
"Sound good right about now…" said Star.
"Everyone else also agreed to take a nap after such a hectic day.
However what none of them knew was that Buff Frog found something very suspicious during his trip… something he was going to investigate for sure…
Next Time: Pony Head deicides to do something nice for once and takes everyone to get Goblin Dogs, insanely good hot dogs in another dimension. However the line is insanely long... what will happen? Find out next time!
