CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

Website where all photos of all outfits mentioned is on my profile.

Waking up the following morning I spend a few minutes going over the events from the previous night. I'm not sure when Jax realised I was awake but he nudged my head up with his finger.

"You a'ight?"

"I'm incredibly embarrassed." I tell him diverting my eyes to the door.

"I wouldn't be." he tells me.

"Why?"

"Cause that has to have been one of the hottest things I have seen in a long time, and I've seen a lot of stuff Sarah. No one has done that in front of me before."

My face flames red as he smirks at me before he throws back the blankets and gets up. Sitting on the edge of the bed his back muscles flex under the Reaper tattoo on his back. I snake one of my hands over and trace the letters on his back.

"I didn't intend on doing it in front of you." I remind him.

"But you did, and I sure as shit will never forget that." the mischievous sparkle hasn't left his eyes since they locked with mine.

"Are we going to be okay?" I ask softly.

He looks over his shoulder and smirks, "Sure we are. We'll be better than okay I'm sure. Just give me some time, k?"

I nod, "You don't have to stay here. I'm sure with Ope and Happy I'll be fine."

"You ain't getting rid of me that easy darlin'."

I move off the bed and stare into the wardrobe for a while trying to work out what to wear. Behind me I can hear Jax getting dressed and when he leaves the room Doj pads after him.

"Can you feed the monster please?" I call after him, "The cups in the biscuit bag."

"Sure thing." I hear him answer as I reach down to pull some clothes from the bags brought yesterday.

Having a quick shower before I dress entirely in new clothes, the black and red bra and pantie set, black Capri pants with silver stars on the sides and laces at the bottom, red singlet with black lace layered over it and red peep-toe heels.

Heading out to the kitchen I find that Opie and Happy are already sitting at the table drinking coffee and laughing at Jax who is still trying to get Doj's biscuits in the bowl.

"Doj, sit." Doj's looks over at me, his massive brown eyes looking so upset that I've stopped him from eating the biscuits as they come out of the cup, but some are hitting his nose and bouncing onto the floor.

Jax pours the rest of the food into the bowl while the dog's tail sweeps across the floor, his whole body vibrating with the need to move.

Waiting till Jax is out of the way I give Doj the okay to eat, he stands up and his head is in his bowl almost before the command is finished.

Jax pours a cup of coffee and hands it to me, "You could have told me that trick."

"Wouldn't work. He'll only ever listen to me and Cam." I reply, "But if you're around often enough he might start eventually. It took about 4 months before he'd listen to Cam."

I get to work making breakfast, we're all running a little late this morning but I still make scrambled eggs for everyone.

Happy heads out first saying he's still got some stuff to do for Clay but he'll be at the garage by mid-afternoon. Jax and Opie have to finish the work on Blondie 1's car so she can collect it today.

Climbing into Donna's car we get sandwiched between the 2 bikers.

A minute into the drive, "Are you okay, Ope said there was an interesting conversation last night that I missed."

"That's an understatement. I thought Jax was pissed at me yesterday after the whole VS issue, but it turns out he was trying not to let his baser instinct kick in."

A raised eyebrow is all I get, "Apparently he was trying not to drag me off and go caveman on my ass."

"Ohh. That's good though, isn't it?"

"Sort of. We did make some progress last night, he's worried that there's too much going on at the moment. He's probably right, with Abel, Tara and Wendy's death he's got a lot on. And I'm trying to buy a house and deal with Craig hanging over my head."

"Wouldn't it be easier for you to share your loads though, help each other out and all?" Donna's logic is sound of course, and I'd be happy to help Jax with his issues, but he needs to sort some of them on his own first.

"Probably, but I still have yet to meet Abel...speaking of that, when exactly is he spending time with his son?"

"Whenever he's not around you he's at the hospital."

"Hmm, I might have to tag along on one of those visits and meet this baby boy."

"He's the cutest thing every, apart from mine of course."

"Is someone getting clucky?" I joke.

"Yeah, Ope is." Donna tells me, Jax had told me a few nights ago but had also filled me in on the reason Donna was delaying it.

"Well, what's the issue?"

We've pulled into the lot and are quietly sitting in the car chatting while everyone is working around the lot. Gemma pulls in a few minutes after we arrive and heads to the office with a wave in our direction.

"Wendy was the issue, well Wendy and the issues she brought rather. But other than that I'm not sure if we can afford any more kids at the moment. The house isn't big enough for more unless we convert the spare room to a nursery."

"You were with me when we looked at houses, why don't you tell Mandy you're looking for a bigger place, though with your yard why don't you extend a bit. It would be easy to add on another room and still have a massive back yard."

"I guess I never thought of that, but it's the expense."

I grin at Donna a plan springing to life in my mind. "Tell you what, you get pregnant and my baby gift to you will be an extension."

"No. You can't spend that sort of money on us." Donna protests.

"D, you're my best friend. I didn't do shit all when the twins were born other then send some clothes," Donna scoffs, "Okay, I sent a lot of clothes. But I should have been HERE for you and them. So, please, let me do this."

"I'll talk to Ope about it, okay. No promises though."

I nod furiously grinning at her, I know that Opie is keen on more children and I've just eliminated Donna's main reason for refusing.

We finally get out of the car and Donna heads to the office, "I'm gonna help Gem with some filing, K?"

"Sure thing, I've got the rest of the clubhouse to clean." The mess I'd managed to clean in the kitchen 2 days before had inspired me to clean the rest of the place, bar the dorm rooms which I wasn't going to touch without a bio-hazard suit.
