CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT
Thursday morning starts off horribly. Opie's alarm doesn't go off so he's not out of bed till almost 10am and he and Jax both have to be at the clubhouse at 1015 for a pre-run briefing. I've known since the protection thing was set up that both of them would be out of town tonight, Clay told me that both Donna and I would be at their house till Ope and Jax got back the following day. He was, for him, reasonably apologetic but explained that he couldn't send anyone else. Given that he didn't have to tell me anything I was surprised at the information he gave me.
The guys run out the door after Happy assures them that he'll be fine getting us both to the lot, and if not he'll get Tig to head over.
Donna starts the coffee machine while I'm collecting up the last of the beer bottles left in the living room from the night before. The coffee pot hasn't even heated up before there's a knock at the door
I'm closest to it so I have a look out the peep hole. Turning to Donna and Happy, "It's Tara."
Happy goes and stands in the kitchen, though I'm sure the fact there's still a bike in the driveway is a giveaway that one of the Son's is still here, but I guess she'd seen both Opie and Jax leaving and didn't realise that the bike in the driveway meant there was still a Son in the house.
I open the door and look at her, "Did you not do enough yesterday when you destroyed my car?" I say, I can hear the distaste in my voice.
"I'm leaving today, but I wanted to tell you something, well actually I wanted to remind you of something." Tara says, and I struggle not to laugh. She's got a white bandage over her nose and both her eyes are blackened, she also seems to be missing a tooth if the gap I've glimpsed is right.
"Fire away then Tart-a." The deliberate miss-pronunciation of her name doesn't seem to have sunk through her ears.
"I know that you think you'll have this great romance with Jax but I wanted to remind you that even if you do I was there first. Whatever he does to you he did to me first. Whatever you do to him, I've done first. There is no combination of things that you and he can do that he and I haven't done multiple times." she sounds smug and I just want to put her in her place and destroy the confidence she's speaking with so badly that I forget that Donna and Happy are both within ear shot as I reply.
"I hate to correct you on that, but there will be several things that I will do that you have never done. You have never married him, you have never gotten pregnant with his baby, you have never given birth to his child, you have never had his children call you mommy, and you have never sat and talked about mundane things like bills with him. You never had a life with him, you had a teenage relationship that was never going to last. Oh and there most definitely is one thing that I've always had that you never will."
"What." She snaps.
"I have an awesome relationship with his mother who already loves me." I snarl.
"Oh, and just on Tuesday I discovered something that you have never done for, or with him." I know my voice is just as smug as hers was before.
She looks confused, like she's wracking her brain trying to work out what it is. After several seconds she opens her eyes, "What the fuck could you have done in one week that I haven't done in the 3 years we were together?"
I lick my lips and lean a little closer, "You never gotten naked in front of him and masturbated while he watched. You never let him spend minutes examining the piercing you have in your pussy."
Tara's face goes red and I'm not sure if its embarrassment or anger until she spins around and stomps back to her car leaving in a cloud of smoke.
I stand there for a second and it's not till I hear a throat being cleared that I remember I'm not alone in the house.
"Fuck." I mutter, turning to face the very amused biker and my best friend who looks like she's going to fall over from laughing.
Happy opens his mouth to say something but before he does I shake my head, "Please don't?"
I get completely ignored, "So you really got yourself off while Jax watched?" he says, and it's a combination of shock and respect I hear in his voice.
"Maybe." I reply.
Donna regains her composure long enough to spit out, "You have a pussy piercing? And you let JAX look at it? And managed to walk away!?"
I grin at her, "Yes to all of the above. I gave him one rule, no touching."
Donna cracks up laughing again and its several minutes before she regains her composure enough to gather her bag so we can leave.
Happy just shakes his head, walks over and examines my face for a few minutes, "You have definitely got some balls there."
I grin cheekily, "Yep, at least a dozen of them."
Happy just about chokes, but manages to regain his composure before stepping outside and over to his bike.
Donna doesn't even attempt to drive, passing the keys to me. She wouldn't have been able to anyway, the bursts of laughter exploding out of her every few minutes shaking her body. There are tears escaping from her eyes every now and then.
After she's laughed her way through several blocks, and most of the trip laughing loudly. "I'm good, sorry, but I can just picture the look on Jax's face when he had pussy that close that he wasn't allowed to touch."
I grin, remembering the look on his face; I'd compare it to a man in the desert being told he can only look at a glass of water. "Remember Hap's face the other day when I told him he couldn't eat all the cupcakes and that he had to share?"
Donna nods, the rough biker had looked like I'd taken his favourite toy when I told him that the 2 dozen cupcakes I'd brought I were for everyone. And that was after he'd eaten 5 himself.
"That's the exact expression that Jax had when I told him no touching. Though you have no idea how har...difficult...that was to stick to." I giggle at my own choice of words, but the expression on Jax's face when he was on his knees in front of me and all I could see was his eyes glued on my pussy was something I will never forget.
Donna's face looks priceless for a second before more gales of laughter explode out of her. She's still laughing uncontrollably as I pull into a parking spot in the lot. My Challenger is still sitting in its crumpled mess in the corner and seeing it I feel a flash of anger at Tara. Her insane belief that everything in Charming should have stopped when she left and not restarted till she returned. While a lot of it is still the same, the people have moved on with their lives exactly as I would expect. I certainly didn't think that everyone I left behind should stop living and moving forwards when I left.
Jax and Opie have already left, the gaps where there bikes are meant to be seem obvious to me. Clay comes out of the garage and walks over. "You lot are staying with us tonight. Old-Lady's orders. Sarah, Jax said you've left some stuff in his room, here's the key. Do I want to ask?"
"You can ask it's just clothes to finish the clean inside." I tell the greying biker.
"I thought it looked different yesterday." he comments, "And Gem said some little fairy was cleaning like mad."
I laugh, "Me a fairy...yeah right." walking towards the clubhouse and throwing open the door I'm happy that it's still as clean as I left it, the only parts to do are the dusting and restocking of the bar. Once I've changed in Jax's room and tied my hair into a massive pile of locks on the top of my head I turn on the stereo and the sounds of classic rock music block out everything else.
