CHAPTER FORTY-NINE
I've pulled all the glasses down from the shelves and wiped the shelves down when I take a look at the glassware and decide it's all in need of rewashing, carrying it by the tray into the kitchen it's not till I've loaded the dishwasher that I realise there's no powder for it, sighing I head to the office, hoping that Gemma has some in the storeroom.
Throwing the door open I catch Donna in mid-sentence, "She let him look." She turns as the door hits the wall and her face drops.
Gemma is grinning widely and claps as I step inside. Taking a bow I say, "Yes, I'm a legend, however I'm a legend in need of dishwasher soap, is there any here?"
"If there's none in the kitchen then there's none here sorry baby." Gem tells me, "We have to do some shopping anyway so we'll get some today. Clay ordered the prospects to come to the store with me when I go."
I nod and turn to go back to the bar; I can restock bottles while I wait. "Oh, huh-uh, you're coming with me." Gem informs me, getting to her feet. "Do you want to change first?"
I look down at the faded jeans and T-shirt I'm wearing, evidence of the cleaning I've done, but I decide that I really can't be bothered changing to go shopping. "I'll be cleaning again when we get back so I'm good."
Gemma nods and 45 minutes later she's ready to go. Donna and I climb into her car with her and the 2 prospects, Miles and Aaron, trail behind us to the market where the three of us get out and head inside.
Wandering the isles we end up filling a cart with all sorts of stuff that is missing from the pantry and a variety of cleaning products.
The three of us are standing arguing through laughter at whether we should go straight to a supplier to mass order condoms for the place when Ima comes round the corner.
"Hey Gem, Hi Donna." I don't miss that she's completely ignored my presence.
Donna turns and looks at Ima before coming over to me and we stand quietly tossing boxes of condoms into the cart leaving Gemma to deal with the cum dumpster. "Ima." Gemma sounds short and I guess her patience level for this particular blonde skank hasn't risen since the issue she made over a car park.
"Do you need any help setting up tomorrow?"
"Nope, it's all been done by my two favourite women here." Gemma nods toward Donna and I, we're currently debating the likelihood of any of the Sons wanting any lube.
I grin at Ima and ask sweetly, "Which lube is best used for anal, Jax told me it's one of your movie specialities."
Ima's face twists and she gestures to the smaller tube in my hand, "That one, but Jax already has a draw full of it."
I giggle at her, "Oh I know that, who do you think put it all there. This is for Tig."
Throwing a couple of tubes onto the top of the pile Donna and I push the cart past Gem and let her know we'll start unloading onto the counter.
She joins us at the counter just as I go to pay for it she hands a pile of cash over the counter to the cashier.
Loading the bags into her car she shakes her head, "That...whore...has it in for you Sarah, she really does."
One of my shoulders lifts in a half-shrug, "I know; she's under this delusion that somehow her pussy will make Jax stop looking at anyone else with one. Unfortunately she seems to have decided that I'm number one threat."
Gemma chuckles as we climb in the car, "Baby, that's cause you are the biggest threat to her in town."
I grin and I know it's not a sweet looking gesture, it's more possessive then I really have the right to be at the moment. "Oh I'm the biggest predator in the Jax pen, it's just the rest of the skanks haven't worked that out yet."
Donna laughs from the back seat, "When they do work that out Sarah you're gonna have some problems."
Looking over my shoulder at her I reply, "I know that, but I'm quite happy to beat the thoughts of Jax out of them when that happens.'
Gemma pats my hand as we pull back into the lot, "You'll be fine baby, Jax will make sure everyone knows that he's out of the game."
I look at Gemma for a second, "I love you Aunt Gemma, but your son is the biggest collector of pussy in the club."
Gem nods, "And that's the reason why when he shows the club he's got you it's going to make such a reaction."
We unload all the bags into the kitchen and I wave off their offers of help. "I'll put this stuff away, I'm sure you're still wading through ancient filing, not to mention if you're here you can't gossip about me." I poke my tongue out at them as they leave the room.
Looking around the piles of bags taking up the bench space I spend about 20 minutes putting all the stuff we've brought away before setting the dishwasher going and heading back into the bar, taking inventory of the bottles on the shelves I write a list of what needs to brought in and head out to the bays where Aaron is standing.
Handing the list he looks over at me, "What do you want me to do with this?"
"Can you please bring up new boxes of those and leave them on the bar?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I'm busy." He turns around and goes back to what he was so 'busy' doing, watching 2 of the sweet butts washing a car in the corner.
I shake my head and decide to find Miles who I know will help me when a huge hand lands on Aaron's shoulder, "I believe you were just asked to do something prospect. And you might want to remember the face that asked you to do it. She's my niece and is at the same level as Donna when it comes to doing things, which is right behind my Old-Lady, do you hear me?" Clay's voice shows that he's not going to take anything but immediate compliance.
Aaron stalks off towards the clubhouse and Clay leans against the wall beside me, "If he's an ass again you let me know, the prospects know that they're below Gem, Donna and you as well until they get their top rockers."
I nod, "It really wouldn't have been an issue Clay, I would have gotten Miles to do it, he's been more than happy to help me."
"That's good, Miles is a good prospect." Clay says before walking off towards the office where Gemma is standing in the door.
I'm sitting with Chibs at one of the picnic tables with Aaron returns, "Boxes are on the bar for you."
I nod and continue the conversation I was having. "Jackie boy will be back tomorrow right before church." Chibs tells me the scars on his cheeks pulling up with his grin.
"I know. He had time to tell me that as he was running out the door this morning. We've been passed over to Clay for babysitting, and I know that Donna's happy about that, she can spend the night with her kids." I stop and look around the lot, there are only a few cars due to it being late on a Thursday, Gemma likes to get the lot as empty as possible before the weekend.
My car is still sitting in the corner and seeing it brings a whole new series of thoughts to mind. "Hey, Chibs, where's Hap?"
Chibs points to the other side of the lot where Happy is just moving towards his bike. Before he can leave I run over and stand beside him till he notices me, "S'up?"
I can't see his eyes through his shades and I'm a little worried I've pissed him off because he's on babysitting duty but he lifts his glasses and I see his eyes shining with glee and remember he heard the Tara conversation that morning.
Rolling my eyes I figure they will eventually get over it, "Have you got tartface's insurance details, I need to get onto that."
He hands me over a card where he's written the details I requested. "Thanks.".
