Prologue

Once upon a time, in the far stretches of time and space there was the kingdom of Asgard. In this kingdom lived a prince who lived in the shadow of his elder brother. Cast aside, he became resentful and bitter. On a fated journey to Jotunheim, the prince discovered his true heritage, and his anger grew.

Blinded with rage, he plotted to destroy Jotunheim. In the ensuing chaos, his brother thwarted his efforts, and the prince fell into space. He awoke, cold and alone, in the clutches of a wicked titan. Convinced of glory, the prince waged war on Midgard in hope of obtaining an Infinity Gem for the titan.

Alas, his elder brother discovered him. In the end, his brother and Midgard's mightiest heroes defeated him. With the Infinity Stone, there was a way to return to their realm. His brother sent the prince away, while he stayed with his mortal love on Midgard.

As the prince waited for his punishment in his once father's throne room, a curious event took place. A mysterious figure entered and approached the prince, ignoring the king's protests. It spoke a horrid enchantment against the prince and all in the kingdom.

Because the prince's heart was as cold as ice, he must wear the skin of his true birth. All mourned under the curse. Yet, there was a small speck of hope. The prince was given an ice rose. It would bloom for five years, and in that time the prince must find someone to love and he must gain her love in return.

The prince became despaired. For who could ever love a monster?
