Chapter 5: Another Glorious Morning: Makes Me Sick!

With cold weather came flu season, and Santana was miserable. Halloween was quickly approaching, and she only hoped her flu would settle down. Because of her flu, the whole crew hadn't been able to come over, leaving Brittnay to set up alone. Santana tried to help, but was bed ridden cradling a box of tissue. Binx was a surprising source of comfort through all of it. She and the kitten took care of each other. Through it all, Brittnay was being a champ. Periodically she'd hear their friends dropping things off to take shopping off Brittany's to-do list, but she knew the blonde was anxious to throw a perfect Halloween party.

"Hey San." Brittany said, carrying a bowl of soup into their room "I brought you some soup. I tried to follow your mom's recipe, she said this always made you better." Brittany said. Santana smiled weakly, propping herself up on the pillow to eat the soup slowly.

"Thanks B" she croaked, slowly eating her soup.

"I also went to the pharmacy and they said these cough suppressants were the best. They also gave me this decongestant. Apparently the flu has been going around and these have worked best." the blonde continued, carefully feeling her wife's forehead.

"You probably should go before I get you sick too." Santana pouted "I love you, and I don't want my sickness to ruin Halloween."

"Don't worry. Unlike you I got my flu shot already. But I'll go. I think your fevers gone down. You should be better soon. You haven't taken a fever reducer today have you?" the blonde asked, getting up. Santana shook her head. Brittany nodded and left to set more things up.

Stacked in the kitchen were cauldrons ready to be filled with magical alcoholic concoctions. She also set a few aside for a game of bobbing for apples. Both their crisper drawers were full of apples. She had a whole recipe book of fun foods to make for a Halloween party and started to put a list together so Rachel could drop the ingredients off. The decorations were nearly complete, just the last minute touches missing. On their fireplace mantle sat Nightmare Before Christmas figurines, there were throw blankets from various movies draped on the couch. Decorative pillows from Hocus Pocus adorned the chairs and skull coasters were stacked high on the side table. Orange and black red solo cups filled the kitchen cabinets, figurines lined the window sills and Santana had been putting together a Playlist. In the front yard inflatable decor and fake skeletons lined the lawn. On the dining table sat a ton of mini pumpkins for a mini pumpkin carving contest. Overall, the party was nearly ready. As long as Santana recovered things would go as planned.
