Survival's the name of the game. So, let the games begin.

Despite having been in phone and text contact for years, Mycroft only meets Lestrade face-to-face for the first time at Sherlock's funeral. An initial request for coffee blossoms into something more, until Mycroft has to admit something he'd much rather not acknowledge: he and Gregory Lestrade, together, are inevitable.

With age comes wisdom, and a sense of urgency - Sherlock confronts John about why exactly he has stayed with him for so long.

There are some basic human needs that are required to be filled if a person wants to be happy and healthy both mentally and physically. As John reads a writing blog one day, he runs across a list of those needs. He realizes that purpose behind Sherlock's unusual personality, anti-social behavior, and his "Mask" isn't so confusing after all.
