Watson and Holmes are heading to Mycroft's 'estate' for a week or so's holiday, to meet his new wife. While there the most mysterious things begin happening in the city's web of ancient streets, especially those connecting the University to the Cathedral. The Chancellor of the University and the Dean of the Cathedral called upon Sherlock to solve 'The Cathedral Case'.

Character sketch: Mycroft and Lestrade, in a pre-canon dialogue during one of Sherlock's withdrawals. An attempt to imagine elements and forces that could have brought the characters to the point we see in canon. Pre-canon, pre-John Watson. Clean, but many of the themes are "mature" in the sense of being for grownups, rather than in the sense of being sexy.

Scenes that were not included in my story 'Don't Lose Faith' for one reason or another. They'll vary in length, characters and scenes, focusing on different parts of the story and providing a little more insight into thoughts, motives and feelings. I would really recommend reading the original before moving onto this.

Sherlock's curiosity gets the better of him

Sherlock Holmes has fancied Molly Hooper since the day they met. His initial reaction to her, and his rejection of it, have dictated his behavior towards her ever since.
