All Sherlock Holmes fans know the fate of Mary Watson (nee Morstan), so I don't feel this story is spoilerific, as they might not go down this route in the show. Anyway, I've borrowed from ACD and House MD and although it's not strictly romance, it's major bromance, with some angsty speedbumps along the way. Reviews welcome.

Inspired by this prompt: Sherlock didn't fake his death. He is actually dead. And John doesn't know what to do with himself. He is, therefore, happy and relieved once Sherlock starts possessing him. This isn't really the above prompt's fill, I kind of took the idea from there and spun it in to something darker and more sinister. COMPLETE.
