Sherlock can't believe that John thinks it's all a dream, but he's willing to play along. If he can give John something to hold on to while he's off making the world safe for the both of them, it might save them both.

Sherlock lights a fire inside of John, but it is extinguished when the doctor realizes that the feelings aren't mutual. John sinks lower into himself, and realizes that there are things from his past that haunt him with his forbidden love, and keep him too afraid to ever touch another man. Johnlock, rated for abuse, suicide and blood.
