Chapter: Seventeen

Batfall

Iron City

Bruce dressed as Batman had taken down several criminals that looked human, but it turned out to be not the case. They turned out to be cyborgs, just not in the same fighting range as Alita. He cursed her name under his breath.

He would of never gone on this mission to go after Vandal Savage. Too late not as he is here in the future, a future that is dark as Gotham. Only far worse. Bruce manage to tie these cyborgs up and let the police handle then.

If there were any police or law enforcement. Batman leaped from one rooftop to another as night had just set hover the horizon, looking up in the sky he glared at the floating place what the locals described as Zalem.

According to Alita a man name Nova lives there and he watches like a god over everything. So where is Vandal Savage? Bruce decided to do more to get his attention and interrogate the man.

Batman continued to move in the night how he always does in Gotham. Simple right! He will find his own place to stay, these people will not know who Bruce Wayne is anyway.

As for Alita, Clark, and Diana they can fend for themselves. Bruce is used to doing things alone and didn't need anyone else's help, especially Alita as he never trusted her from the start.

Unknown to Batman a certain cyborg is on his trail. Zapan could almost admire this human, a man who dresses up like a bat is weird to him and could make a good hunter-warrior. No, he is ordered to kill this Batman.

Zapan too used the rooftops to leap from one place to another and had almost caught up with this hero called Batman. Until the human vanished, the cyborg chuckled which he knew this type of tactic.

The cyborg simply roundhouse kicked without even looking. His ears picked up a grunt noise and his eyes turned to see this Batman backed against the wall, whom he held his chest and blood dripped from his mouth.

"Well not very flashy dressed like that." said Zapan

"Who are you," growled Batman?

"Zapan, perhaps you heard of me," the cyborg smiled "No, too bad"

Batman threw batterangs at the cyborg to confuse him and use the shadows as his advantage. Zapan dodged the object thrown at him and is almost amused at these little toys.

Until a few of them exploded at his feet, which caused smoke to fill up in the air around him. Batman then dropkicked the cyborg to his back which caused Zapan to stumble a bit and then Bruce hit him hard as he could with martial arts moves.

Finally he landed a hard kick to Zapans face, which twisted his neck around. Zapan fell flat to the ground. Bruce controlled his breathing and stayed on the defensive he knew it would not be easy.

Zapans body rose up and he snapped his neck back in place and grinned, he is having fun at this and the cyborg had figured out the batman's attack.

"Well if that's all you got." Said Zapan "Then this was a waste of my time."

Bruce is ready or so he though as Zapan now attacked the human dressed as a bat. Zapan had a few upgrades over the years and he hoped to use them on Alita.

Instead he will use them on Batman as the cyborg swiped the dark knight with his hands that formed claws ripping through flesh and parts of his costume. Ignoring the pain Batman fought back.

Only to be kneed in the stomach and thrown into a wall. He crashed hard which almost knocked the wind out of him. Batman got back up he isn't going to go down without a fight. Using his utility bet he used a grappling claw and the claw attached to Zapan.

Bruce pressed down hard on the switch as it seemed to electrocute Zapan. Did it work? Zapan just laughed it off and the cyborg just pulled Batman forward right at him. Bruce tried to stand his ground only be outmatched.

Zapan swifty slashed Batman in the face which the dark knight howled in pain, which he couldn't see out of his left eye, which is on the half of his face on the left side is bleeding

"Guess you couldn't see that one coming." Said Zapan.

Bruce didn't want to run away, but this time it's best he regroup and come up with a new plan once he has heeled. Batman tried to escape, but Zapan cut him off in every turn.

"Were not done."said Zapan "End of the road for you."

Batman had no other choice he will fight to the very end or die trying. Bruce charged at him like he was going down in a blaze of glory, only for his left leg and right arm torn from his body by large metal whips, one of these whips wrapped around Batman's throat

"Zapan, stop playing around." Said the other cyborg

"Oh come on Grewishka, I was just having fun." Said Zapan

"Pfft Trash," said Grewishka "Our master has more for us to do."

Grewishka just threw Batman or what is left of Batman like trash as he is thrown off in the distance until his broken body landed hard upon a empty street. Bruce tried to ignore the pain and needed to move before he died or passes out.

A shadow looked over him and several cyborg dogs sniffed over the broken human and is dragged away.

The Bar: Iron City

Unaware of what transpired with Batman. Alita, Diana and Clark had just walked into this place. Alita had informed them she had came here some time ago to gather hunter warriors to fight Grewishka, but they were too cowardly to do so.

Diana and Clark are in disguise as just regular people. Although everyone in the room recognized Alita as the battle angel, motor all champion and a hunter warrior. She was the one who started a bar fight here awhile ago and now she is here again.
