Chapter: Twenty
Part Two: Fight for the future
Diana and Clark already left Ido's place which they are in their civilian disguises. Both of them didn't say a word and causally headed to the factory. To do what? To get Clark at full power, which he is still weak by coming to the future.
Diana knew this is the right thing to do and ignored the stares from the various onlookers. Including a few cat calls from cyborg males whom found her to be very attractive.
She has the urge to beat them up, but Clark gave a nod to her. Which to indicate to the Amazon princess to just ignore them. Taking a deep breath she does just that and both of them have arrived at the steps of the factory.
They can see various people coming to and from the factory doors. Alita had mentioned they are hunter/warriors whom collect bounty's considering there is no law enforcement in the far future. So they stroll on up the stairs and enter to the inside of the factory.
Ido had provided them with false identity cards to have them as hunter/warriors. The doors had opened and closed once they were inside. Now the two of them are inside, they noticed no one had cleaned up the mess which was left behind by Alita.
Alita had informed them she got pissed off in here. Although there are factory robots here and up ahead are the solar energy storage which powers this place. Time to get to work and so Diana twirled around to change into what people see hero known as Wonder woman.
The robots watch and see the human woman draw out a sword and shield then go on to strike the robots. Slipping away Clark is heading to solar storage to cause an overload and create a distraction for the others to get inside Zalem.
Ido had given him a layout to study the place and after Clark had sneaked around a bit, he had found the solar storage generator and it looked huge. He heard Diana's cries of battle and he knew this would be a game changer once he gets this done.
Not wasting any time Clark jumped right into the storage generator and crashed into it, he can feel the intense heat which felt like the sun itself and then this happened.
KABOOM
The whole factory exploded in a gulf of fire and smoke which engulfed everything. Diana had braced herself by her own shield, but still is knocked back to the outside of the factory. The explosion had lit the sky like a Christmas tree.
Even on Zalem, Nova did not expect the factory to blow up like that and he used the eye of Zalem which he can see through his puppets the factory had been destroyed by the blast and fire is raging out of control. A costumeed woman is there is it his little angel?
Ah, so it's the one Vandal Savage had mentioned he escaped from an Amazon named Diana an interesting specimen, but wait there is something else. Someone hovering a few feet from the bast wearing a red and blue costume with a S on his chest.
The alien Superman. Fascinating it would seem he survived the blast and not wanting to hesitate he activated all of Zalems defenses. At the moment he is unaware of what else is transpiring. Vandal Savage lingered in the background which he knew he would soon be free.
Meanwhile Alita using the power of the white lantern ring which she isn't alone and Batman is with her which they headed to the underbelly of Zalem to where the trash is being dumped to the surface below.
They knew what they had to do, neither one of them trusted each other. Although it's best to focus on the job at hand and it seems the main garbage chute is still open and sneaked inside right about the same time an explosion echoed in the background.
They caught a glimpse of where the explosion had taken place Diana and Clark had done their jobs. Means Zalem will be fully distracted by what had just transpired on the surface below their feet.
Right now they used stealth to take down the security drones. Bruce is impressed with the replacement limbs they reacted much faster than is original limbs and wanted Vengeance on the ones whom had almost killed him.
Alita had described the two had done this to him. They needed to find a way to get up to the command center of Zalem itself and Alita knew Nova controls everything on Zalem. So using the elevator is their only option and looked for one.
First things first they are dealing with the security drones and a hard pound is felt all around them. They knew Superman must of hit Zalem with his fist or heat vision. The two continued onward and found an elevator to go up.
Nova watched as the one called Superman and Wonder Woman whom are flying in the air. Nova had activated all of his defenses of Zalem. Superman had slammed his fist along the side of Zalem. He knew this would not end well and activated more drones to hold them at bay.
"Why do you linger there," said Nova "If you wish to be free you will handle them."
"No," growled Savage "I am done being your slave, I don't want to live as a puppet of yours."
"I anticipated your betrayal," said Nova "Very well have it your way."
Nova took control of Vandal Savage as the villain felt being controlled by this madman and he smiled as he leaped out of Zalem. He is free falling knowing he will soon be free and is blasted to bits by Zalems energy cannons.
Nova did wondered what his little angel is at, could she be here. Yes she is! He then decided losing Zalem is only a minor setback he has many other plans in mind. Nova left to head to his room, if he is killed then he will return. He will always return.
Not before activating the auto destruct of Zalem itself. He had no use of Iron City and it's residents anymore.
Batman and Alita stepped out of the elevator which they are greeted by both Zapan and Grewishka.
"Well it's the flea," said Grewishka "I've been waiting for this..."
Alita didn't hesitate and blasted the cyborg Grewishka to bits leaving nothing more than a scorch mark upon the floor. Zapan looked shocked at this and tried to run only for Batman to pounce on the cyborg and beat him senseless.
Superman and Diana had then crashed the party. Alita used her hacking skills to find something is off and made a discovery.
"This place is about to blow up," said Alita "You have to get it out of here,"
"I can simply lift it high enough." Said Clark.
"I'll find Nova." Said Alita "Alone."
The three nodded and headed out which Alita needed to find Nova and kill him. She didn't have the time before this place blows up. So she had to be quick about it.
She kept on running and running ignoring anything which stood in her way. Then she found it a throne like room and blasted down the doors with the white lantern ring. She was expecting a fight, but she seems him sitting there with a smile on his face and hooked up to machines.
"I will be gone from this place," said Nova "But I will return in due time stronger than you or your friends. As I will show you no mercy."
"Fuck your mercy," yelled Alita.
She threw her blade, which it strikes his chest killing him on the spot and then he muttered his last words.
"Death is but a door, time is a window. I will be back." Groaned Nova and laughed to death
Alita can feel the explosions around her and it's time for her to leave and so she made her way out. She leaped off the balcony and used the white lantern ring to fly which people on the surface below a an angel of light fly away from hell.
Superman had used all his strength to move Zalem up in the atmosphere and into orbit. Which then he flew down with the others to watch Zalem explode like a fireball in the sky. People are cheering to know they are free at least for now.
"You think Nova is gone for good." Said Diana.
"No," said Alita "He will be back, he must of transfered his mind to somewhere else. He knew he would lose Zalem someday."
"What now," asked Clark?
"Home." Said Bruce.
"Like How." Said Diana
Suddenly a portal opened up in front of them and J'onn Jones walked out of the open portal.
"I can't keep the portal open for long, you have to get back." Said Jones "We have a situation."
"What's the problem," asked Superman?
"Brainiac."said Jones
"You three head back home," said Alita "I am needed here."
"Good, we don't need you anyway." Growled Bruce.
"Good luck Alita." Said Clark
"Goodbye sister," hugged Diana
"Goodbye to you too, sister," said Alita "You can always visit."
Diana, Clark, and Bruce step into the portal, then vanished. Alita looked up in the sky and wondered where did Nova go to. She then joined up with her father Ido and headed home.
Meanwhile at a unknown location Nova woke up in his new body and smiled. He knew he would come back and stared out of a window. He has all the time in the world.
