Chapter 8
(Third Person P.O.V.)
On a clear and sunny day in Japan, Yuuko was already in her Giganta persona holding up a collapsing building in order to let the people inside evacuate. One may think with her obvious power of super strength that this would be easy, but Yuuko soon learns the hard way of her limits as her limbs start straining and the structure begins leaning onto her more. If she doesn't say something soon, casualties will arise.
She yells to the emergency officials, "URGH! Get everyone else out already, you guys! I can't keep holding this up much longer!" It was clear from her tone of voice she's both tired and annoyed at the ongoing situation.
The building's heaviness was becoming too much to handle and while Giganta tried to regain her footing to better balance the structure, she slipped on a tanker truck on the street and fell against the complex behind her at full force. She watched in horror as each building after the other one fell like dominos, not just crushing any hapless citizens along the way or within the structures themselves, but the collateral damage finally stopped when it crushed her beloved Akihisa on the other end of the city. She screams as the scene then transitions to her in bed in her regular state, which makes her simply pant frantically before trying to calm herself down.
"Ooh man, what a nightmare!" Yuuko stated to herself in an exhausted manner while holding her pounding chest in fear. Once she's finally calmed her nerves with some deep breathing exercises, she then rubs her tired eyes to get rid of this drowsy state she's in.
It was thankfully another ordinary morning for Yuuko, so she got herself changed into her outdoor attire, had her scrumptious breakfast, and headed out to school right away. On her travels, she spotted Akishisa a few feet away from her, so she ran up to the guy to greet him.
"Hey Akishisa, lovely morning we're having, right?" Yuuko said in a cheerful but troubled voice, as Akihisa turned to face her.
"Oh Yuuko, hello and yes, it's a nice morning." Akihisa said to Yuuko with cheerful voice and a grand smile on his face, which quickly changed to a look of concern when he looked at Yuuko's worrisome expression and could therefore tell something's on her mind.
"Yuuko, did something happen? You don't look happy today…" Akihisa said with a concerned tone of voice and expression on his face.
"Oh it's nothing, Akihisa. I just an awful nightmare, that's all." Yuuko says assuringly, though her tone makes it seem like there's more to it than that.
"Well then, wanna accompany me to school again and then back to your home once it concludes?" Akihisa asked as he put his arm around Yuuko clearly trying to cheer her up.
"Yes, I would like that very much, thank you Akihisa." Yuuko said in a relieved tone of voice and matching smile.
As Akihisa and Yuuko were walked to school together, other students passing by simply stared and whispered juicy gossip about the two lovebirds amongst themselves as they too headed their way towards school. They had just made it to the front gate where Souichi Nishimura aka Iron Man was watching students enter, probably looking for late students to spot and scold at. Akihisa and Yuuko were seconds late, but Mr. Nishimura decided to let it slide for now as he then silently gestured with his hand for the two to hurry up and make it to class already.
"Well, I guess I'll see you on our lunch break, eh Yuuko?" Akihisa assumed to Yuuko in a soft tenor.
"Yeah sure, that sounds good." Yuuko replied.
Once they made it inside, the two went their separate ways into their respective classrooms. While in Class F, Akihisa was deep in thought, still very concerned about Yuuko until Mr. Fukahara's voice was heard over the P.A. system telling him to report to the principal's office immediately.
After being told what to do, he left the office to now appear in an empty classroom where Iron Man was waiting for him. The principal had just told Akihisa that today, he's meant to summon his avatar to test a new update to the summoner testing system. Mr. Nishimura then proceeded to open the E.S.B. field as instructed.
The student exclaimed, "SUMMON!" to conjure up his personal avatar, but when it appeared, the size behind it was off greatly.
Iron Man tilted his head in confusion, "That's a little strange. I just checked it yesterday, there shouldn't be any issues with it now." As he opened a panel on the side to tinker with the wires, the avatar's shadow expanded and sure enough, Akihisa spelled it out to us: "MR. IRON MAN! MY AVATAR IS GROWING! STOP IT!"
Mr. Nishimura stopped what he was doing to see the growth sequence occur right in front of him in sheer disbelief.
Elsewhere, Yuuko was too preoccupied running laps around the school campus as part of her P.E. class. However, she stops in her tracks when she hears glass shatter and Akihisa is seen crawling out of a broken window with his rapidly-expanding avatar's seen nearly spilling out alongside him.
Seeing this made Yuuko panic a bit before realizing in her thoughts, "Akihisa's in trouble, gotta change into Giganta in a more discreet area."
She then screamed like a little girl and pretended to run with the panicking students and teachers out of the school when really, she uses the chaos that ensued to run behind a dumpster nearby to get her outfit summoned and become Giganta.
Seeing as the avatar ain't as big or as tough as her other foes in the past, she only grows to a mere 40 ft. to softly punch it in the forehead, knocking down the avatar's points and thus, the construct simply poofs away like magic. She then notices Akihisa falling since he slipped when trying to climb down to the ground, so she simply leans in and catches her crush in her gigantic palm. She then placed the guy safely onto the ground and gave a thumb up to everyone watching.
An intact Iron Man is seen out of the building and rushing over to Akihisa to pick him up and say to him, "Well you're really fortunate that Giganta's in town today. Despite this though, you destroyed a bit of school property, even if it did save the entire foundation from imploding. So for now, you'll just need to do some extra work to make up for that, so follow me to get it started."
"Of course, sir. I understand." Was all Akihisa could state in his tired-out state as Iron Man helped take him back to the school itself.
While the school's natural order has returned to normal, the one in the city's prison won't be soon. After all, two yandere inmates are seen in their cell with one of them, Minami, trying to pull the steel bars on her window like if they were made of wood.
The female prisoner on the bottom bunk bed offered in such a courteous manner, "While I respect your drive to kill that witch Yuuko and make Akihisa ours, you don't have the way to get us out of here."
Minami decided to give up upon hearing these wise words, but then they both shout in surprise as something indeed breaks down their cell walls, sounding off the prison alarm: it was car-sized drone with mechanical spider legs and a radiating antenna on top. In the back the evil professor could be seen walking past some knocked out guards wearing a gas mask as a colored fume could be seen spreading around the complex. "Better get out of here, girls! This knockout gas doesn't discriminate!" The drone turned around to pop out a chair for him to be strapped to and the female prisoners smirked greatly as they ran off to join him and retry their old plan of snatching love…
