Honey, I'm home,' Yelled Emma as she walked through the mansion door. She and Regina had instantly moved in together after the debacle in the library and it had been only six months later that the Queen had proposed. Well, kind of. Emma definitely counted it as a proposal, anyway.
Someone had accidentally opened a portal, and that someone was Robyn. she was three and it was her first bout of accidental magic. The portal had opened in the middle of main street and some weird-looking creatures had crawled out of the chasm.
Emma and Regina had been on their way to the diner for lunch and when they had realised what was happening, they had quickly tried to deal with it, but because Emma was Emma, well, it didn't really go very well. It was touch and go for a minute when the creature grabbed on to Emma's pant leg and tried to drag her into the fissure.
Regina, who was fighting her own monster further down the street, wasn't paying attention to the saviour, believing that Emma could handle herself. It wasn't until she heard her girlfriend shout 'um, baby, I think we have a problem' that she turned around to see the beast trying to drag her Emma, who was Now hanging onto a lamppost, into the portal which went God knows where.
'Emma Swan, I swear if you leave me wifeless, I will kill you,' she yelled.
'Wifeless? But Gina, I'm not your- OMFG are you proposing?' She yelled back.
'Em, are-' started Hook, who had come over to try to detach his best friend's leg from the creature's mouth.
'Shut up, Killi, my girlfriend is proposing to me,' she hissed.
'Gina, it would be my honour to be your wife,' she yelled over to the Queen.
'Okay, well, we'll have a summer wedding. Now concentrate on surviving because I also want some children,' Regina shouted back.
'Okay, Babe... Now what did you want, Killian, because I'm a bit busy'
Killian didn't get to answer though, because David came running over with his sword 'congratulations on your engagement, kiddo, ' he smiled as he chopped off the beast's head.
'Thanks, dad, also why didn't you just do that, Hook?' She asked as she picked herself up from the ground.
Killian huffed, 'Well, I was going to, but then you shouted at me'
It took them another ten minutes to get rid of all the creatures and another fifteen after that to bribe Robyn into closing the portal.
Emma and Regina did get married that summer. It was a beautiful ceremony that was officiated by Granny. Regina wore a dress, and Emma wore a tux. Emma had decided she didn't want bridesmaids but instead asked Henry, Killian, Robin, Roland and Neal to be her best men. It caused a lot of upset amongst her friends that were girls to the point that Regina ended up having Zelena, Mal, Kathryn, Snow, Lily, Ruby, Belle, Tink and Robyn as her bridesmaids. Emma still had David walk her down the Aisle and Regina had surprisingly asked Rumple, who had accepted almost immediately.
Emma was actually surprised he had even shown up to the wedding through because the night before they had a joint bachelorette party and a very drunken Belle had confessed that she had his dagger. She then pulled said dagger out of her sock and started waving it around which then prompted an equally drunken Emma to snatch it from her hand and shout 'Rumplestiltskin, I command thee to Ride a unicorn down main street while giving out rainbow stickers' they then all had the audacity to act shocked when it actually occurred.
Rumple had been furious, but apparently not enough to stop him from coming to the wedding, though Emma thought that maybe Belle used the dagger again.
It was later that night, after they had consummated their marriage repeatedly, that Regina had broken the news that she was twelve weeks pregnant. Emma had been overjoyed and cried for a whole three hours before Regina told her that if she didn't stop and let her sleep, she would poof her to her parents.
Seven months later Regina gave birth to two healthy twin girls, which they named Ciana and Ciarra, which literally translated to "light and dark" Emma had originally wanted to call them Evie and Sav, but Regina vetoed that idea immediately and instead they compromised.
Zelena had fallen pregnant three months later and she and Mal had gotten married a month after she gave birth to their baby girl, Jade. Lily was ecstatic to have another sibling and she and Ruby regularly offered to babysit Jade, and Robyn, who she also classed as her sister.
Robin and Killian had been the next couple to get married. They had also wanted another child, but after weeks of searching, they couldn't find a spell or a potion that could help two men have a baby. Rumple had even searched his magic books and came up empty-handed.
Regina and Emma had talked endlessly about Hook and Robins situation. The two men had quickly become their best friends. Robin and Regina had decided that they were actually soulfriends rather than soulmates and Regina and Hook had put the past behind since they would now be permanent fixtures in each other's lives. The two women were saddened that they couldn't find a way to help them.
It was two months later, after multiple serious conversations, that the saviour and the Queen had gone to them and Emma had offered to be a surrogate. They explained that it wasn't really an option to leave storybooke so they would have to use Emma's eggs and that they had both spoken about it and agreed that they wanted to do this for them.
The two men had been speechless for at least ten minutes before they both crushed Emma and Regina into a massive bear hug and accepted tearfully, which in turn had made Emma and Regina cry and the whole thing was just very emotional.
Robin and Killian ended up moving into the mansion while Emma was expecting. They had wanted to help as much as possible and Regina had to admit that it was much easier to raise twins when there were an extra two adults around to help.
Emma had given birth to beautiful twin boys. Killian had actually fainted when they found out that she was pregnant with twins, even though he had been warned it was a possibility due to David also being a twin but apparently he had thought that they were joking because Emma had already had twins with Regina and he didn't think it was possible to have more than one set.
That then prompted Regina to pull out the PowerPoint presentation on the birds and the bee's that's she had used for Henry because she thought that Hook lacked serious knowledge of sex education.
Henry had made a joke at a family party one time, saying that there was going to be a whole generation of kids that were his siblings, since He and Roland referred to each other as brothers, which meant that Robyn also called Henry her brother. They tried to explain to her that he was her cousin but she wouldn't have it, because Roland was her brother so that meant Henry was as well, which then caused Lily to refer to Henry as her brother too since Robyn was also her sister. it was supposed to be a joke, but it stuck and when Jade was old enough, she also referred to Henry as her brother, and Henry found that he didn't actually mind having all these Extra siblings because he loved them all equally.
That situation ended up inspiring the names of Robin and Killian's twins. They decided since they already had a Robyn and Roland and Regina and Emma had Ciana and Ciarra, and since all the children had now decided they were actually siblings because their family tree was too fucked up to figure out properly. That they would carry on the theme, so they named their babies Hugo-Reggie and Jace-Emmet. Hugo, so they could have Henry and Hugo and Jace so they had Jade and Jace. Reggie and Emmet were in honour of Regina and Emma because without them, they would never have been born.
Lily actually got upset that she was the only one without a name twin. She only calmed down When Zelena and Mal promised that they would make sure their next baby had an L name. They made good on their promise a year later when Mal gave birth to another beautiful baby girl and they named her Laynie.
Lily and Ruby didn't want children, and they didn't want to get married either. They were happy with their lives the way they were. They did a lot of travelling to different realms, neither of them were happy being stuck in one place for long and they agreed that they didn't want to raise a child that way.
When Henry turned eighteen, he decided to join them and the three of them travelled together for three years, only popping back home for birthdays and Christmases.
He and Grace had broken up when Henry realised that it wasn't actually Grace he had a crush on, but rather her dad. He had immediately run straight to Hook and Robins' who had taken no time in ushering him inside and comforting him while he cried. He wasn't upset about his sexuality, but about the fact that he could never be with the man, he was sure he was in love with. It took him six months to get over his crush.
He met his current partner in while he was travelling in Wonderland, and everyone in Storybrooke was shocked and kinda weirded out when one Christmas he introduced none other than Will Scarlet as his boyfriend.
Emma tried to point out that Will was the ex-boyfriend of his Granny Belle and it was a bit strange, but Henry had hit right back with the fact that she had literally married and had children with her Ex-Step-Grandmother, who was now also his Ex-Step-Great-Grandmother, Adoptive mother and also His Stepmother.
Emma had not had come back for that and instead threatened to chop Will's dick off if he ever hurt her son.
And that is how they had gotten to this exact moment.
'Emma, don't shout. I've only just gotten the baby to sleep,' scolded Regina, as she came to meet her wife in the hallway.
Emma's had given birth to thier fourth child four weeks ago. He was a little boy named Preston.
Emma grinned and pulled her wife in for a hug 'Sorry baby, Where's the terrible two?' She questioned before she kissed her Queen's cheek.
'They're with your mother and father. They also have Jade, Robyn and Laynie. Neal is having a sleepover at Robin and Killians since they're taking him sailing tomorrow with Hugo and Jace, and Roland is with Henry and Will'
It was normal now for them to recite where every single child was since the children were forever just staying over at each other's houses. All the adults were extremely close and had they all raised the children together. Henry jokingly called Robin and Killian dad one day, which then prompted Roland to refer to Emma and Regina as ma and mom, and obviously, the little kids followed apart from Robyn because she already had two moms and two dads. but now Jade and Laynie also called Killian and Robin dad which meant that Hugo and Jace who were still a bit too young to understand started Referring to Zelena, Mal, Emma and Regina as mama. They all called Snow and David grams and grampa and they all called Neal Uncle Neal.
The adults knew very well that it was unorthodox and strange, but they all found they didn't really care because most of them had grown up without loving families and if it meant that all their children were happy, cared for, and loved, which they were, then it didn't really matter where it came from, did it? No! It definitely did not.
'Right, so we have the place to ourselves then,' replied Emma with a wiggle of her eyebrows.
Regina went to reply, but suddenly the front door swung open and in rushed a curly-headed teenager.
'Ma, Mom, Will just gave birth. He and Henry are at the hospital. We need to go now'
'Gave birth? Will wasn't even pregnant, Roland. Is this another one of Henry's pranks? because I'm still mad at him for the last one he pulled,' scoffed Emma.
'Roland, you know two men can't have a baby. Your dad's tried for months before Emma stepped in,' Reminded Regina.
'It's not a prank, I'm serious. I bet you my deputy sheriff's badge that I'm telling the truth,' replied Roland seriously.
Emma and Regina both knew that Roland wouldn't have bet his Deputy sheriffs badge if there was even a slight chance he would lose it. The badge was his pride and joy and He had actually cried when Emma had gifted it to him for his thirteenth birthday, promising that one day he would be able to wear it alongside her and David.
'Emma, get Preston and drop him at your parents. Roland, go and tell your dads,' instructed Regina, now in a panic.
'Okay, but wait for me to come back. I want to come,' Replied Roland before he ran next door to inform his dads.
'For fuck's sake, can't we just have one night,' whined Emma as she poofed the baby into her arms before she poofed them to the loft. She was back two minutes later.
Twenty minutes after that, Regina, Emma and Roland were sitting in a hospital room with Henry, Will and their very real, and healthy baby girl, Penelope.
It turns out that magic worked differently in wonderland though they had no clue how the pregnancy had actually happened apart from the obvious 'true love' theory. They found it didn't really matter because while both of the new parents were incredibly shocked, they were also extremely happy about their new bundle of joy, as they knew they had endless amounts of people that will be willing to help and love Penelope as if she was their own. just like they had done with every other child that had been born into their very dysfunctional but happy family.
And the next day, as Emma swan sat in her favourite chair by the fire, watching her exceedingly large family gush over her new granddaughter. She concluded that everything she had been through in her life, good and bad, was more than worth it because it had led her to where she was now and where she was now was about as perfect as it could get.
