Hello all. I'm here to give you a new Naruto X Highschool DxD fanfic. Hope you enjoy this short chapter and await my next update. This fanfic is kinda a new genre in, and of itself so please give me your opinion.

-Prologue-

"Clear blue sky, fluffy white clouds, warm sunlight, and gentle breeze… Such a beautiful day to go out and earn some goddamn money." A blond teen said as he looked at the beautiful scenery before him with a smile on his face. Peace had finally arrived at the Elemental Nations and everyone was enjoying it. After the 4th Shinobi World War which ended with their victory, all five big shinobi villages had agreed to ally with each other to bring about a time of peace. Just thinking about it made the blond grin as he was none other than Uzumaki Naruto, The Strongest Shinobi, and the War Hero who defeated and sealed Kaguya away with his team, who had a large part in making this peace possible.

Though all he got after the war was just some titles and the medal, Naruto was still satisfied with it. At least, he was now acknowledged across the world, and Kakashi, who was now the sixth Hokage had also promised that he would pass the position to him after he completed his study in politics and stuff related to running a village. Overall, all were good. But then, something unexpected happened that threw everyone off guard.

Peace brought with it prosperity the wind of industrial revolution. As war stopped, shinobi suddenly became a bunch of jobless people. No more assassination request, no more infiltration mission, no more reward for slaying enemy shinobi, etc… any and all military-related missions in other nations were canceled and banned. The number of high-rank mission with hefty reward was scarce so most Shinobi could only accept C-rank mission at most around the country like purge a bandit's camp, or become a bodyguard to earn a bit of money. Economic experts had even stated that the situation would only get worse as the need for trained shinobi lessened, and the number of retired shinobi grew. The situation was so bad that a lot of Shinobi had already resigned to find another stable job. And actually, Naruto was also in the same situation.

As the Strongest Shinobi matched only by his teammate Uchiha Sasuke, Naruto was forbidden to go to other nations by the alliance because he was too powerful. They said he could destroy countries alone and could become a second Kaguya. In other words, they saw him as a potential threat to humanity. At first, he protested, Konoha protested, Gaara and Sasuke too. But when all three other villages agreed, the decision was passed. He and Sasuke were technically just genin of their village, their opinions matter not. Actually, he was deemed to be an even greater threat than Naruto due to his past. Sasuke had been so angry he summoned Susanoo and threatened them to withdraw the decision that moment. But Naruto had stopped him, then with a smile on his face, agreed to their decision. He might be dense, but he wasn't stupid to the point of not seeing that they were afraid of his power. Besides, the alliance needed a common greater threat to stick together. For peace, Naruto decided to accept their unfair judgment of him.

And so, with no ability to go outside the country, no face to steal those boring C-Rank missions from the kids, Naruto was forced to live a poor life in his rundown apartment.

Walking down the bustling street of Konoha, wearing his usual black and orange combination, Naruto looked around to find the game company that had invited him to test and advertise their new game. As the strongest shinobi and a war hero, Naruto's name could be sold for a lot of money. So when a newly established game company offered him a hefty sum for him to advertise their game, Naruto had no reason to decline. They had no reputation so the best way to get good results with their game was inviting a big shot to advertise it and Naruto just happened to be the biggest one all around the world.

The company wasn't large, just big enough to not feel cramped in it. Naruto was greeted by a handsome, polite young man outside which he assumed to be the game developer and owner. After a short greeting, the two enter a small, plain room with only a gaming console. According to the man, he would want to have a private space to enjoy the game. An action-adventure RPG game about a male protagonist and his journey in a mystical world filled with angels, devils, and monsters. Only a short introduction, but Naruto already couldn't stop himself from getting excited. Gaming was actually one of Naruto's rare hobby ever since he was young. He had no friend and no family, so when the old Hokage bought him a gaming console for his birthday, Naruto had been attached to it since then. While immersing himself in the imaginary game world, all his worry and sadness just flew away.

"DxD Quest RPG. What does DxD stand for?" The blond asked while waiting for the console to load the game.

"At first, we planned to make the main character a Dragon or Dragonoid, so it stood for Dragon X Dragon. But then, we changed him into a devil later, so now it's Devil X Dragon." The developer said with a smile.

"So the main character is a devil? Interesting. The genre is new. Most RPG has their protagonist as hero."

"Yes, a devil. A pureblood devil. However, a devil isn't necessarily an evil being. It all depends on the choice you make, Naruto-san. If you made your choice correctly, your character can either become the savior of the world or bring it to ruin. Now, if you excuse me." The developer said with a mysterious smile on his face as he bowed and walked out of the room when he saw the game had finished loading. He stopped by the door however and looked straight into Naruto's eyes which were confused by his earlier words.

"Ah, just a tip, Naruto-san. Please make your first choice carefully. I'm talking about your affiliated family choice. Because you really wouldn't want to mess up your start." The developer said and walked out, closing the door behind him with an audible click, leaving Naruto alone to think about his words.

"Choice... Guess he's right. People's life is a series of choice. Hm… The end game content can be as hard as it could because we can grind our ass off to play it. But if the starting content is too difficult, it would be hard to even play the game…" Naruto said to himself as he inputted his name as his character's name. The screen changed and before him was a long list of different names, next to them were strange symbols along with a short description. They were his first choice.

[Choose your affiliated family.]

72 choices, 72 families with unique talents, and special ability. Naruto read them all. Not just because he was careful with his start but also because he wanted to know more about the game. 72 different starting conditions just that alone already made Naruto have mad respect for the developer for such an impressive work. Half an hour passed. After comparing all 72 families, Naruto removed all other choices excepted 2 that caught his eyes. That tip the developer gave him really helped. In all 72 families, about half of them were fallen families, and then half of the remaining were declining families. Only about 10 of them were large, or prestigious families with good starting conditions.

[Gremory Family]

-Trait: Red Hair, Blue-Green Eyes.

-Talent: Advanced Magic Reserve, Aura of Charisma, Ancient Language Affinity.

-Special: Power of Destruction.

-Introduction: A large family famous for its natural attitude in the art of Ancient Language and large magic reserve. Affectionate in nature, they are loving to their family and kind toward others, including their servants.

[Phenex Family]

-Trait: Blond Hair, Blue Eyes.

-Talent: Wind Affinity, Fire Affinity, Body of Fire, Phoenix's Tear, Advanced Lifeforce.

-Special: Partial Immortality.

-Introduction: A prestigious family famous for its phoenix-like ability. Arrogance in nature, they looked down on those with lower status but are the noblest and most refined to those of the same status or worthy of their respect.

The Gremory family actually didn't have anything too special, but Naruto was interested in them the most. Red hair, large magic reserve, affectionate nature, and an affinity for ancient language which was Sealing in shinobi term. Everything about Gremory just screamed Uzumaki to him. Naruto didn't know why Bael's Talent: Power of Destruction appeared as Gremory's Special Ability, but having such an awesome power wasn't bad.

No need to say much about the Phenex family. Their talents and special ability were just plain overpowered. Naruto was sure when the game got released, most players would choose the Phenex as their affiliated family. Honestly, Naruto was also tempted to choose them, but their short introduction put him off. They were noble beings, but they were also arrogant, which kind of reminded Naruto of the past Hyuuga Clan and Uchiha Clan. The Phenex might not be as bad because they were seen as noble, but Naruto still had his hesitation.

After pondering about his choice for a moment, the blond followed his heart and chose the Gremory Family. After all, an Uzumaki should choose a family based on the Uzumaki, right?

The screen flickered as soon as Naruto confirm his choice and then, it went blank. Raising an eyebrow at the sudden development. The blond stood up and was about to call the developer to fix it when a strong sense of sleepiness washed over him.

*CRASH*

Naruto fell on his face as he lost control of his body. His eyelids were heavy and his vision started to blurred. The blond flared his chakra in hope of breaking whatever genjutsu or poison that had gotten him, but to no avail. There was no genjutsu casted and no poison in his system, only a strong sense of sleepiness which was becoming stronger and stronger.

'Something, something is happening…Naruto... I'm… sleepy…zzzz' Kurama's voice rang out inside his head, but it gradually got weaker and weaker before turning into snores in just a few seconds. When he could no longer fight the sleepiness, Naruto glanced at the screen one last time, thinking it might be the cause, and in his blurry vision, the screen flickered before a line of word appeared.

[Welcome to the world of DxD, Naruto Gremory.] It was the last thing he saw.

So that was the end of the prologue. What do you think about it? As I said, this fanfic is kind of a new genre. Naruto x The Gamer x DxD isn't new, but when it's Naruto x DxD x Only a tiny bit Game Elements, it's kinda new right?

Hmm... Naruto x DxD with a system. Yes! This genre!
