Chapter 19
I watched as the girls slept. They worked pretty hard to help everyone, unfortunately dragging me along with them along the way.
"Hey, have you seen..."
"shh!" I immediately hushed Bellamy as he barged his way in.
He looked at them silently. His eyes softened but still keeping his since of urgency upon meeting my eyes.
"Have you seen Octavia?"
I shook my head as I closed the tent flap and started making my way out, "haven't seen her in ages."
He cursed as he rushed passed me, looking everywhere for his sister. I shrugged as I made my way to the camp's exit. But Monty suddenly rushed in front of me with a worried look.
"Before you say anything, is this about the missing baby Blake?" he nodded his head fast. "whateves. Stop worrying. She's probably following some butterflies or something."
"But what if she isn't?" he questioned. I simply just shrugged carelessly. "Please, she probably needs our help! You ..."
"Nope, ah uh," I totted, shaking my head and walking fast towards the exit, "na-ah. You will not convince me to get out of my way to help the sister of the idiot who nearly sent me to my death. No poppy sad eyes of yours or anyone will change my mind. So don't even bother trying, buddy. Because it ain't gonna happ..."
"Octavia is missing?" I heard from behind me. I turned around to meet the teary eyes of Holly and Lilly. I grimaced turning my head towards the night sky in distress.
"Son of a bitch!"
"Hey dumbasses, you're going the wrong way!" I called towards Bellamy and his band of dumbasses.
"How'd you know?" one of the idiots asked me, "we got her tracks right here,"
"Because, you dumb-potato head, those tracks that you're following belong to a boar," I pointed my torch at the tracks near me, "these are her tracks, but hey, follow the boar for all I care. It might lead you to your long lost family,"
I marched away following Octavia's tracks until they lead me towards a steep hill. I crouched down as I studied the tracks leading down. I felt someone crouch near me.
"What is it?" Bellamy asked. I pointed down to where what seemed like a ripped part of a belt which was stuck on a branch.
Bellamy's eyes widened, "that's Octavia's!" He turned to call for the others as he was about to climb down, but I immediately grabbed his arm before he could pull a dumb stunt like that.
He angrily stared at me, and i showed him the rope in my hand that I had already tied its end to a nearby tree. He gave me a confused look, "what the hell am I gonna do with that?"
"I'd hang you with it, idiota, but we don't got the time for that," I threw the rope down, "we're gonna need the rope to help us climb back up, dumbass." With that I started making my way down.
I looked around, finding a rock with some blood on it. I touched it, "still fresh," I looked towards Bellamy who looked even more worried now. I looked around to find where she had gone, when
I spotted another set of tracks. "Ah shit!"
"What'd you find?" he asked, I nodded towards the new tracks. Bellamy drew in a sharp breath. "Please tell me those are hers."
I shook my head, "they went that way," I pointed towards the way the tracks lead. "Look closely at the tracks. They dig deeper into the ground which means that whoever those tracks belong to, they were carrying her."
"If they took her that means that she's alive, right?" Jasper breathed shakily, "Just like when they took me,"
"Let's hope so," I replied as I stood to continue following the tracks.
"Welcome to Halloween town,"
All of us stared agape at the disturbing sight in front of us. Skeletons, lots and lots of skeletons were hung or tied on trees.
"I don't speak grounder, but I am pretty sure this means keep out," Finn said.
I titled my head, "you gotta admit. This kinda looks cool. In a fighting and a scary way,"
Slowly one by one people backed out and ran back to camp, too scared from the sight of the new location we're going to be going through.
"Go back if you want," Bellamy said, marching in, "my sister, my responsibility,"
"I'd walk into hell to find her," Jasper said as he followed after Bellamy.
"I think we just did," Finn said as he followed them.
I looked at the others, "are we supposed to come up with a cool one liner too before entering?" I asked them before I followed the rest into 'Skeletown', "wait Jasper the tracks are leading to your left... no dumbass, your other left!"
Hours later the sun came up and we're still in the search for the missing Blake.
I came to a stop suddenly when I noticed that the tracks have disappeared. I looked around but there were no tracks of anything; no human nor animals, which I found suspiciously weird.
"The tracks are gone," I announced to Bellamy.
"What do you mean gone?" he asked, "They can't just suddenly disappear. Keep looking,"
I gritted my teeth, not liking his tone one bit, "I am, jackass, and I am telling you, they're not there anymore."
"Wondering around aimlessly isn't the way to find your sister," Finn pointed out. "We should back trac..."
"I am not going back!" Bellamy insisted as he came to a sudden stop to face Finn.
"Hey, where's John?" A redhead asked.
I turned towards her in confusion, "who the hell is John?"
Suddenly a loud thud sounded behind us making us turn around on a rush. There on the ground was a body with their throat slashed.
I pointed at the body, "I think I found John!" I turned around suddenly and let an arrow fly making it lodge into the forehead of a grounder that had snuck behind the girl without anyone noticing. The now dead grounder dropped the knife as he dangled in the air by the rope tied around his waist.
"They're using the trees" I pointed out the obvious making everyone look up nervously.
"We shouldn't have crossed the boundaries," what's his face said.
The girl nodded shakily as she backed away from the bodies and closer to me, "can we go back now?"
"guuuuuuyyyyyyssaa" I sing-songed quietly, looked around us, "we got some compaaaanyyyyyyy,"
Everyone turned to see the grounders that are slowly surrounding us.
"We need to run," Bellamy ordered, "run, go!" with that we all started sprinting away with the grounders running after us.
We ran for a while, but the more distance we ran, the closer they got. I suddenly stopped and readied my bow, taking one grounder down in seconds.
Bellamy stopped, and Jasper and Finn soon followed after.
"What the hell are you doing?" he asked.
"Killing grounders, what's it look like, dumbass?" I retorted as I took another one down. "Go, I'll hold them back!"
"You ..." Bellamy tried to argue but I cut him off,
"Weren't you the one that kicked the bucket from under me not even a while back? You care about my life now? Just fucking go!" when I didn't hear their footsteps running away, I turned to them angrily, "Dammit, just go! Run!"
Bellamy nodded before he resumed running, dragging Jasper with him and Finn following behind them.
