Chapter 20

I did my best to take down as much as I could, but soon enough they got too close for me to use a bow, so I had to do my best at close combat; Meaning that I barely took down one before I was overwhelmed.

All it took was one single kick to my side to bring me flat on my back. I could barely catch my breath as I stared up at the big brute that was standing over me. He swung his spear before bringing it down. I flinched and closed my eyes, but there was no pain.

Upon opening my eyes, I found a lone grounder fighting the others. It only took him seconds to wipe them all out. I was still lying on my back gaping like an idiot when he started approaching me. He roughly pulled me up to my feet, glaring into my eyes.

"Were you born stupid or does it come natural to you?" he grumbled. I blinked in shock at him.

"Fuck you, who the hell you calling stupid, you savage gorilla?!"

"The reckless stupid idiot I'm staring right at," her responded.

I raised both my hands, flashing him the middle fingers, "how about you stare at these?!" he roughly grabbed one of my wrists and started pulling me to walk behind him.

"Hey! What the hell, stronzo (asshole)? Let go of me, you mongrel! Where are we even going anyway?" I grumbled trying to free my hand, but he had a vice grip.

"Taking you back to your people!" he replied, not slowing down his pace.

I pointed with my free thump at the opposite direction he's walking to, "we're going the wrong way, Coglione! (moron) "

"I meant back at your camp," he said, I final managed to free myself against his hold which stopped him in his tracks.

"No we are fucking not!" I disagreed. He scoffed and went to grab my wrist again, but I dodged him. "I'm dead serious, I gotta help the others and Octavia!"

He gritted his teeth as he stepped closer to me, "you go back there, and you will be dead!"

I shrugged my shoulders, "I gotta help them," I told him quietly. He kept staring at me for a minute before sighing deeply, dropping his head before bringing it up again a second later.

"Try not to die," He said, reluctantly. My lips stretched into a wide smile.

"I'm too much of a tough cookie to die," I smirked, jokingly punching his shoulder. He glanced towards where my fist hit his shoulder.

"Go," he sighed. I saluted as I started walking away, before he suddenly pulled me back, "be careful," I nodded, giving him a soft smile.

Following the tracks lead me towards an un-built tent in the middle of the forest. I had to blink a few times at the sight, especially with the obvious shape of four figures hiding under it.

What's even baffling is the loud hushed talking that was happening under it. How the hell did these morons even manage to survive this long is beyond me.

I casually walked towards them, crouched down on all fours as i grabbed one end of the tent and pulled it up enough to where only my head was revealed.

"Ya'll cozy in there?" they all gasped in shock, before noticing that it was only me.

Jasper looked at me in bewilderment, "wait, how'd you walk through the acid fog?"

"There isn't any fog, mammalucco, (idot)" I backed up, giving them room to stand.

"Maybe it was a false alarm?" Finn wondered, looking around. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something move. I shushed them as I crouched down.

"There," Bellamy pointed to a lone figure in the distance.

"I think he's alone," Jasper whispered. I nodded in agreement.

"Seems like it,"

"He doesn't see us, I'm going after him," Bellamy declared.

"And what? Kill him?" Finn replied.

Bellamy shook his head, "no, we're gonna catch him,"

"Then what?" the girl wondered.

"Make him tell me where Octavia is," Bellamy replied, "then kill him," with that he started following after the grounder.

Jasper turned to us, seeming unsure, "how do we know he's not leading us to another trap?"

"We don't," Finn shrugged and followed behind Bellamy.

I wrapped an arm around jasper's neck, as I pulled him along to walk with me. The height difference made him slouch and walk awkwardly, "what was it that you said earlier?" I questioned him, then changed my voice to become deeper to much his own voice, "I'd walk into hell to find her!" he grunted as I ruffled his hair roughly, "well, Romeo, you're in hell. Now go find your Juliet!"

Following the grounder lead us to an underground cave. I was behind Bellamy going in.

"Octavia!" Bellamy immediately rushed towards where she had her hands chained tight. On the ground was a grounder knocked unconscious.

I whistled, "'way to go, O', the badass motherfucka knocking grounders to the ground. Oh the irony!" I crouched behind the falling enemy admiring Octavia's awesome work. Finn crouched down beside. I looked at him, nodding my head at the unconscious grounder, "pretty badass, huh,"

"Fog horn," he whispered. I blinked in confusion. He leaned down, grabbing the item from the grounder's hip for a closer look. But my eyes immediately shifted to the way the grounder tensed up. Everything went by so fast.

The grounder suddenly jumped up with a dagger in hand. Upon reflex, I pulled Finn back with me, making us both fall on our backs. I was fine but, unfortunately, Finn wasn't so lucky. The dagger landed deep in his chest inches bellow the heart.

"Don't remove it," I told them as I removed the shirt I'm wearing, leaving myself in a tank-top. I ripped the shirt and started wrapping it around the knife and Finn's shoulder to keep the knife as still as possible.

I looked behind us to where Bellamy was fighting the grounder, just to see Jasper knocking the grounder out and saving Bellamy.

"Great job team, awesome work, woohoo! Now get over here and let's bring Finn back to camp."
