Sitting in the void of space, the almost canvas-like hues of reds and blues painting the sky around them, Sora sat back in his ship with a thin line on his face. Closing his eyes, he tried to focus on this 'power' everyone told him to find. Power of Waking… Thinking hard on the past few adventures, he couldn't peg down what this power was.
Was it the power to change his keyblade into various weapons? No, that's to fight the heartless.
Was it the power to summon strage rides? No… same thing.
Maybe it was the power to ask for past friends to help? Can't be right…
He rested his arm on the steering wheel, blue eyes lost in thought. I just learned how to fight better this whole time… And Sora frowned pondering that. So… This was all for nothing?
"Ya mopping again, Sora?" Sora jolted upright, turning around and seeing Goofy's droopy eyes concerned. "You know, you kinda looked like Riku for a moment."
A high pitched laugh echoed through the ship, with Donald walking toward Sora. The mage's webbed feet tapped the steel floors impatiently. "Goofy's right, we need to get ready."
"Yeah…" Sora moaned, folding his arms and turning his seat around. "It was fun meeting new friends though." His companions nodded in agreement. Meeting literal toys, reuniting with their friends Herc and Jack Sparrow, and even meeting three new princesses; Sora won't forget his latest adventures anytime soon.
He turned his seat around, punching in the coordinates for Mysterious Tower to meet up with Yen Sid and the others but it started beeping. "Huh? I thought we visited all the worlds in this sector…" Donald and Goofy walked toward the ship's navigation computer, seeing a new world pop up.
It looked very… Colorful, to put it lightly. Bright purples, pinks and blues surrounded the top half, with a large castle sticking out. The bottom half looked all mixed-up; red fires surrounding a lava lake, blue clouds hovering around bright pink lights and radiant crystals surrounding a mysterious red figure frozen in time. "Gosh guys, this place looks, um…"
"Werd." Donald finished, folding his feathered arms.
"But wild!" Sora held up his finger, having his trademark smirk. Donald gave him a blank look. "What? Sounded right to me…"
Two little chipmunks showed up on a hologram, Chip and Dale having concerned looks. "You guys going there?" Chip asked.
"Heartless levels are off the charts!" Dale continued.
Sora's bright face paled, a thin line forming on his face. "Has to be the work of Xehenort…" He gripped his hands on the wheel and followed the map to the new world. "Come on guys, one more stop!"
Before Donald and Goofy could protest, their Gummy Ship dashed through space toward the new world, something within Sora telling him his answers might be here...
Putting their ship in cloaking mode, they hopped out of some nearby bushes and took in their surroundings. Sora couldn't shake mild deja vu, with the stone walkway before them reminding him of Rapunzel's world. Even the night skies with endless amounts of stars mirrored the lanterns her people let fly in the air when he visited.
Looking toward the rather large crowds, people wearing clothing proper and in rags, he tapped his chin. "Guys, something feels…"
Donald quaked angry, shaking his mage's staff around. "Why can't I use my magic?" He tapped his webbed feet. "Heal!" Nothing happened. "Ugh!" He shot fire toward Sora, making him scream and run around as he tried putting out the fire on his rear. "Oops."
"Knock it off, Donald!" Sora complained, patting the fire out. "Let's worry about that later." Sora did understand his friend's worry, as he felt more lethargic. Maybe it's just the jet lag.
Goofy just fixed his shield on his arm and walked on ahead. "I'd bet the Princess is nice here." Sora's ears perked hearing that. Goofy paused, tapping his chin with gloved fingers. "...Huh, you fella's think?"
"Guess we'll find out, Goof." Sora ran ahead, with his friends following in tow. They passed by large crowds, with various venders selling plushies of a princess with blonde hair and wearing a a poofy blue dress. Even signs, food and more being plastered with her image.
They were stopped by a rather large knight, holding out his lathered hand once they got near a large line. "Halt, who are you three?"
Sora blinked, brushing his thumb under his chin. "I'm Sora and these are my friends, Donald and Goofy. We are here too…" He froze up, unsure how to continue.
"...Guard the Princess! We are her royal guard." Donald said boldly, standing tall with hands on both sides. Goofy saluted like the knight he was.
The guard looked the three over. "A human and two monster? Queen Moon wouldn't approve." Sora frowned and folded his arms.
"Monsters?" He pointed at his friends with his thumb. "Donald and Goofy are the royal guards of a kingdom back in their homeworld! Don't insult my friends like that you thug."
Donald and Goofy looked horrified, Sora yet again breaking the World Order. Sora realized too late, covering his mouth. But the guard froze up, eyes wide. "Huh… Didn't know monsters had kingdoms in other dimensions…"
"Y-Yeah!" Donald replied, "And if you don't move it, I'll fry you with my magic." He pointed his staff angrily at the guard.
"What's all this…" A voice spoke up, two figures rushing past Sora. The voice came from a boy wearing prince-like clothing. His warm brown eyes looked over Sora, Donald and Goofy. "Star, you know these guys?"
The second figure turned around, being a real-like mirror of the dolls Sora saw on the way here. No way… Her blue eyes reminded him so much of Rapunzel, as did her warm smile. But her bunned hair and heart-marked cheeks contrasted greatly. She looked them over and turned toward the guard. "Sir Stabby, let them through."
"As you wish." He lowered his weapons, Sora and company bowed in thanks and followed Star and the Prince.
"Sorry about that, the knights are a bit on guard. I don't know why, Mom didn't tell me about anything bad happening…" She replied. Sora waved his hand, giving her a wide smile. "What's your name?"
"Sora, and that's Donald and Goofy." His friends bowed toward Star. "I gather your name is Star?" She nodded, her lips forming a beaming smile. Sora noticed it looked strained, her blue eyes looking tired.
Marco carefully studied Sora. "...So you guys are Royal Guards? But you look human though Sora..." Sora tilted his head. "Name's Marco, though your friends look so familiar…" He narrowed his eyes at Donald and Goofy. "Did we see a movie with them on Earth, Star?"
Star shrugged her shoulders, and turned toward Sora. "Mom didn't ask for a Royal Guard but I don't mind you guys protecting us, though…" She tapped a strange looking wand in her gloved hands. "I can kick butt by myself."
Marco rolled his eyes and looked ahead. His eyes went wide. "Star, your Song Day thing is starting soon!" Star said something under her breath and followed after Marco. Sora turned toward Donald and Goofy, giving him blank expressions. The three decided to chase after Star and Marco, running up a flight of stairs and finding themselves on a balcony.
Sora's eyes went wide at the group gathered there. Donald and Goofy were going to rush into the room but Sora held up his hands, stopping his friends from entering. They looked nothing like he've seen before. The only normal looking-people were a short man with a crown and taller woman with poofy blue hair, also wearing a crown. Surrounding them were four creatures, each looking strikingly different from one another.
A woman with raven red hair with a small flame hovering between horns, being the only one who waved hello to Marco as he sat down next to Star. Next to the women was a man made of literal crystal, having hands made of snakes and a single eye. And the last two looked even strange, one being of a humanoid goat and the other being a cloud-looking figure made-up of what looked like stars. And that guard called Donald and Goofy monsters…
Sora leaned on the wall, locking his eyes on Star and Marco. They kept chatting and laughing about something, Sora smiling at the sight. Reminds me of… He couldn't shake the mental image of himself and Kairi watching the sea together, chatting about random things that came to mind after defeating Xemnas. That short time before taking his Mark of Mastery, Sora noticed, kept coming to mind lately.
Just like he couldn't shake the mental image of himself and Kairi when visiting Rapunzel's world, that's happening again right now. He was thankful Donald and Goofy were silent, instead of teasing him like they usually would.
His thoughts were interrupted by the audience beneath the balcony shouting with excitement.
