With those reviews out of the way, it's time to start the chapter!
Yukine's gift
Mikoto, together with Pakura, and now joined by Anko, finally managed to catch up to Danzo.
To their shock, at least those from Konoha, Danzo was saving people from the enemies. He was truly trying to protect those around him, Mikoto watched as he was even being kind to those that were around and offered them safety.
"Something about this isn't right, Danzo's methods were always different to how he's acting now..."
Mikoto couldn't see Danzo changing that much.
She knew he was the type to use underhanded methods, to get what he wanted.
"Mikoto...what do you think he is after?"
"Apart from freedom, I don't know Anko-san. Whatever it is, we have to detain him, in case he does have some ulterior motive. So Pakura-san, if you please."
"Right."
Pakura held out her hand, and created orbs of Scorch Release, which flew from her body, and emerged around Danzo, as Mikoto appeared behind him, her sword carefully placed to his neck, as Anko had several snakes wrapping around his body so he couldn't move.
Danzo didn't seem to be worried, in fact he seemed too calm.
"I was wondering when you'd show yourselves."
"Danzo, what are you doing?"
Mikoto demanded cautiously.
However, he kept calm.
"Protecting those within the village. I have managed to save a good number-"
"You met up with Anko, and yet you fled from her, why?"
"I was chasing down the enemy, but she managed to get away. After that, I saw many people still in danger and couldn't rest until I protected them. But now that you're here, I'll gladly accompany you in any location you wish to go."
"We had to divert people to track you down, those that could have been used better elsewhere."
Mikoto's words caused Danzo to have a faux sorrowful expression.
"I never meant to cause panic, nor do I wish for those in the village to suffer. I shall go with you right now for your peace of mind. Though please make sure that those in the village are safe."
"That's what I am planning to do. Now I'd like you to follow Anko and Pakura, if you would."
Mikoto replied, as Danzo bowed, and was led off with Anko and Pakura.
Mikoto watched from a distance, keeping an eye just in case.
Meanwhile, with Ryouta and the others, Satsuki waited for what was to come next, she didn't know what it could be, but she right now was the only one that could fight. Between Ryouta and Naruko, who both had used a good deal of chakra, and Karin not being the most combative fighting force, she needed to be the one that stepped up and fought.
Ryouta managed to snap himself and Gaara out of the Sharingan technique, to see that there was panic.
He was quickly told what was going on, and when they finished, Ryouta furrowed his brows.
"Karin-chan, you stay with Gaara-san and Naruko-chan. Satsuki-chan, we can fight these things."
Karin nodded, knowing that would be the best thing that she could do right now.
Satsuki on the other hand wasn't so sure, and simply looked on with worried eyes.
"Ryou, you're running low on chakra."
Satsuki warned, knowing that this could be a disastrous situation if he was low on chakra.
"I know, but I have to fight as long as I can."
Naruko couldn't sit back, and despite being tired, she began trying to move.
"Me too..." Naruko tried to stand, but fell back as she let out a wince. "Ugh...this isn't good at all..."
"Don't worry Naruko-chan, everyone. We can do this."
Ryouta said, as the enemies neared them.
What was strange about them was that some possessed large horns, some possessed small horns and some possessed no horns at all. But each and everyone of them, they all looked like some kind of demons, with markings across their bodies.
"What the..."
Satsuki murmured as she pulled out two kunai's, while Ryouta took out the Kusanagi.
"Seems like Orochimaru had one last surprise Satsuki-chan."
"What are they? His experiments?"
"I suppose they would be, Orochimaru's twisted enough. Either way, lets take them out Satsuki-chan."
"Yeah, lets get to work."
Satsuki nodded, and charged forward, as did Ryouta with their blades, clashing violently with the new enemies that had appeared. What they were, Ryouta and the others didn't know, but for certain, they looked as if they wished to kill them, so Ryouta was going to do his best, as was Satsuki to stop this new kind of attack.
Wasting no time, Hiruzen and Yukine came together. Orochimaru ground his teeth, having both Hashirama and Tobirama deployed out before him, the former allowing his trees to blanket the entire barrier space they were left in.
"So he's trying to blind side us huh."
Yukine mused as Hiruzen swung his staff out, which began breaking through several of the trees that came for them, at the same time, Tobirama leapt down from the sky, and shot off a sharp blast of water from his mouth.
Yukine flipped back several times, allowing the water to carve into the building and the earth below, then she rocketed herself upwards. However, as she did, Orochimaru came from down below, and shot off several snakes to bind her.
Yukine laughed, and disappeared, Orochimaru glanced behind him to see her coming up, so he opened his mouth and had a sword erupt outwards, piercing the young woman's chest, but Yukine continues to laugh as a seal spreads out from Yukine's body and goes towards Orochimaru.
"Now Hiruzen!"
Hiruzen dashes forward, hoping from tree to tree, Hashirama intercepted with his strong fist, and came at Hiruzen, who moved his staff in the way, which was as hard as adamantine, blocking the strong punch, albeit pushing Hiruzen back.
As he did, a hand of the monkey came out of the staff, and grabbed the arm of Hashirama, in this weakened state, it allowed Hiruzen to slam his foot deep into the chin of the man, forcing him to flip back several times.
However, as he did, Tobirama came towards him, and controlled water, forming it into a Dragon and shot it for Hiruzen.
"Yeah, right."
Yukine weaved through some hand signs, and from her mouth, she shot a duo of fire and lightning together, clashing violently with the water, and dispelled them, continuing on for Tobirama, sweeping him away in the dangerous combination.
Hashirama came running back, and engaged Hiruzen with Taijutsu.
"It's quite impressive that you can fight despite holding me."
"A specialty of mine, Sensei."
As she said it, Hiruzen saw Tobirama come down with a water Dragon, so he moved his staff, and swung it while having it extend further and further, until it became giant sized, and cleaved right through the water.
However, as it did, Hashirama clasped his hands, and caused several hands made out of trees to come out, and bombard Hiruzen's form.
"Hiruzen!"
Yukine yelled, as Orochimaru laughed.
"He's tiring again, even that chakra you gave him, he has been fighting for a good while now, his age will be his downfall."
"Maybe you're right, he has gotten older. But, he is also wise, and strong. His strength is needed for the next generation."
"Next generation huh?"
Yukine snickers, as she sees Hiruzen twirl his staff, catching Tobirama up, firing him off towards Hashirama in one beautiful swing, slamming the man's body into his elder brothers, crashing them down.
But as he did, Hiruzen collapses to one knee, Yukine silently worrying as Orochimaru snickers.
"Seems like this generation is going to be dead soon. So, what's this him being here for the next generation stuff about?"
Yukine looks to Hiruzen, and sees him pulling himself up from the ground, and preparing to fight.
He was tired, it was clear.
But he was determined, and that determination was something that was carrying him now.
"Oh, you'll soon see~"
Yukine snickers, as she presses her forehead against Orochimaru's, a small glow going between their heads.
"What the hell did you just do?!"
He snaps at her, while she snickers right back.
"A gift, I'm sure you'll enjoy it."
Orochimaru remained baffled as Hashirama and Tobirama charge Hiruzen once more. He breathes hard, but lunges forward to fight as hard as he can do.
Back with Ryouta and the others, Satsuki began taking down the enemies before her eyes. One came in from the left with a sharp punch, so she parried with a slash of her kunai, then she got in close, and delivered a straight kick up to the sky, smashing the man's body into a thick tree branch.
As she did, she saw another coming in, so she pulled back, and took out a few shuriken, tossing them into the air, and they went behind the man as he came for Satsuki, punching forward so she blocked with both arms, and then pierces the man's arms.
"Aaaaah?!"
She looks on as the shurikens she threw change direction via the Shuriken Jutsu and stab into the man's back, his eyes widening before Satsuki twirls and embeds her foot into the man's upper body, sending him flying into a few more coming in.
"Fire Release, Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Weaving through the hand signs, Satsuki inhales, and then breaths out a huge flaming sphere which washes over a number of them, stopping them in their tracks long enough for Satsuki to throw wire around them, binding them to a tree so they couldn't escape.
As she did, more came for her in a group of three, so she pulled forward, and slid between them, using her eyes to predict where they'd be, and then embedded her feet into two of their faces, and the last she stabbed in the shoulder, with the force of her body, she blasted them all away from her, ending up smashing into some trees and unconscious as a result.
"Heh...who else?"
Satsuki saw some more coming, so she got ready for the enemies to come for her, and while doing that, Ryouta had also managed to drop four of them with his blade that he gained from Orochimaru dripping in their blood.
On the other hand Kabuto looked on and thought "Orochimaru-sama must be desperate if he's sent these of all people...I understand Kimimaro, but these experiments...what's happening back there?" while his eyes went towards some of the people trying to jump Ryouta.
"Ryou!"
Satsuki yelled, as one came for her, so she jumped above, and did a strong kick to the top of the man's head, sending him smashing into the ground, but another one came in and sent a punch for her, she crossed her arms, but received a sharp blow, and was propelled backwards.
"I'm alright! I've got these ones!"
Ryouta replied, as the man before him came at him with a claw like hand, Ryouta exhaled, and dodged, before slicing him down, then placed the blade behind him, and extended it, stabbing right through the shoulder of an enemy which caused it to drop down to the ground.
More came for him, which Ryouta parried again and again, as another enemy came in from behind, so Ryouta dodged right, allowing the pair to hit one another, before Ryouta sliced down one of them.
One tried to jump Ryouta from behind, but he vanished.
The enemy was perplexed, as Ryouta appeared silently beside him, his blade twirling and then swinging out to cut down the wild man before him, cutting him down to the degree he couldn't move again
Ryouta saw three more coming, so he breezed past three enemies, and slice marks erupted all over their bodies, dropping them down to the ground, blood erupting all over their bodies, and hit the ground hard, while Ryouta panted from the chakra loss he was suffering.
"These people...Is it some kind of Jutsu? Or a Kekkei Genkai? Or, is this what he does with those in his care, making them out to be mindless strong enemies...it is Orochimaru, so it isn't to be unexpected...but while possessing strength, they're near mindless, I wonder if these are failed experiments only good for such actions when the enemies weakened already...?"
As Ryouta pondered it, he saw a few more enemies coming for him, so he stabbed one up close, and then launched him into another enemy, as the third tried to come down with a double fisted strike, Ryouta however aimed his blade upwards, and stabbed the man's body, taking all three of them out of the fight.
Ryouta landed on the ground as he noticed Kabuto had been untied.
"No!"
Ryouta went to intercept, when suddenly something shot up from the ground.
They looked like...bones.
Ryouta didn't see where they had come from, his eyes could barely make out some chakra that was assisting Kabuto in running away, but when he went to give chase, more and more bones came out of the ground threatening to stab Ryouta, so he had to zip back to the others.
Ryouta looked on, seeing Satsuki also jumping high to avoid the bones.
Ryouta looked out, and the area was like a sea of bones.
They were sharp, and even pierces through the trees, clearly trying to stop them from going on, and due to the current chakra levels of Ryouta and the others, it would work.
"Bones?"
"This must be a Kekkei Genkai, one that can control bones I guess."
Ryouta replied to Satsuki, as his eyes saw that Kabuto was in a messy state from their fight, and there was a white haired youth. From this distance, Ryouta could only see the white hair, he couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman.
"They're getting away."
Gaara murmured, Ryouta nodding and went to move, when more enemies came for them.
"These things have to be failed experiments, they don't have any minds at all."
"Maybe that's the point, Orochimaru sees them as expendable. But we don't have the luxury of leaving them either."
Ryouta replied to Satsuki, as the beasts came for them.
"I know, we have to stop them..."
Ryouta looked on, his eyes staying on Kabuto, he had questions for Kabuto, but it seemed he wouldn't get the answers yet.
Instead, he aimed his sword forward, to try and take out Kabuto if he'd not gain answers, and shot it like an arrow, extending faster and faster.
Kabuto's eyes widened, and his companion with white hair tried blocking it, but the cutting power of Kusanagi managed to break through, piercing Kabuto's abdomen from behind, and then pulled the blade out as he saw bone projectiles coming for him.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
As Kabuto screamed and blood pours of out of him, Ryouta slices the bone projectiles out of the air.
As he did, the white haired figure glanced back, and though Ryouta couldn't see the face fully, but it almost felt like sorrow was being directed towards him and the others.
But Ryouta didn't have time for that, as he had to slay these former humans before them, or even still humans with heavy modification, Ryouta wasn't entirely sure, and if he was honest with himself, he didn't want to even think of what Orochimaru could have done.
Meanwhile, Hiruzen keeps fighting off Tobirama and Hashirama together, while Yukine makes sure that Orochimaru is restrained, and supported him the best way that she could do, all the while placing seal after seal on Orochimaru who was breaking them the best way he could do, and even when doing so, Yukine would do it again, so he couldn't interfere with the fight Hiruzen was having.
In the meantime, Hiruzen repelled both Kage that came for him rather quickly, and was doing something amazing in Yukine's eyes despite his age, repelling both Wood Release, and Water Release masters as he had a limited chakra pool, it was something she thought was quite amazing for Hiruzen to do.
She then saw Hashirama weave through some hand signs, and clasps them together.
"Bringer of Darkness!"
When he did that, Hiruzen's eyes suddenly got clouded with darkness, he couldn't see anything before him, giving Tobirama the chance to slam his fist into Hiruzen's body, Hashirama tried to do the same, but Enma's arms came out of the staff, one arm blocking the fist, and the other embedding into the man's face, sending him flying back.
Hiruzen also went slamming into the ground, his eyes being shrouded in darkness, couldn't see anything.
So he had to rely on other types of skills to survive this onslaught. Using his enhanced sense of smell, and sensing skills, he begins repelling the enemies fists and Jutsu strikes, something that even Orochimaru had ro praise.
"Heh, Sarutobi-sensei is really trying his best, it wont save him though."
"You trash talk your Sensei, yet he's handled everything you've thrown at him, again and again. He has prepared this village for you, and because of that, right now, your Ninja are gone, and those of Konoha and Suna have joined forces."
Orochimaru scowls.
"They haven't!"
"They have, I'm gonna take a guess and saying that maybe telling Pakura-san that you murdered their Kazekage wasn't the best move. You should have done what you always do, and lie. It's what you're best at."
Orochimaru snorts.
"It matters not, as long as I gain your sons body and the body of Satsuki Uchiha, it doesn't matter."
"Again, sorry to disappoint, but my sons alright, and so is Mikoto-chan's daughter. I can sense them from here, and sense you've sent people after them. Yet, they're being repelled, I thought you'd have something like that as backup."
Orochimaru clicks his tongue.
"You don't know everything about my plans."
"I wouldn't want to know everything in your plans, as who'd want to put themselves in a same head space as someone crazy like you?"
Orochimaru's eyes become crestfallen at the roasting Yukine was giving him.
"You will fall this day."
"Maybe, but I'll make sure you suffer for targeting this village, and my son you bastard."
Orochimaru watches as Hiruzen duels the two Kage, with Hiruzen being able to repel them, as he exhales a stream of fire, which causes the trees to be set alight, allowing Hiruzen to swing his staff through the wood, guided by his sense of smell of the burning wood and launches them towards Hashirama thanks to his remaining senses, who blocks with his arms.
At the same time, the hands of Enma come out, and deliver a soul shattering punch towards Tobirama, sending him flying backwards.
Hiruzen, still blinded by Hashirama's Genjutsu, placed a hand on the ground as he hunched over. Sweat dripped off of his brow, which mixed with his blood, and that also caused Yukine to become worried for him.
"Haha, Sensei is really tiring now."
Orochimaru gave a gleeful laugh, something that made Yukine roll her eyes.
"Come on Hiruzen...you can do this."
Yukine cheered as she kept Orochimaru in check.
Hiruzen pulled himself off of the ground once more.
But as he did, Tobirama came down, and shot a very thin beam of water which easily could cleave through most things, Hiruzen dodged backwards, but his leg managed to get cut as he dodged out of the way, as Yukine looks on, weaving through some hand signs.
Emanating from Yukine's body, a blinding flash of light comes shooting out, which was enough to blind the two, Hiruzen wasn't affected, therefore he turned his sense of smell towards Tobirama, locating him within moments.
"There!"
Hiruzen slams his staff down, dragging Tobirama down with it, deep into the tiled roof, or what was left of it after the large battle that went on. Tobirama's body gained some wounds that were beginning to regenerate.
However, before they could, Hiruzen rushed over, and places a seal on his body so he couldn't escape.
"Last one."
Panting hard, Hiruzen swings his staff, and in the middle of doing that, he created several smaller staffs, and caused them to be swung out, turning them towards Hashirama and attempted to trap him in a small box.
But the First had other ideas, and caused thick trees to grow around him, acting as a strong defensive barrier, as a giant hand of wood came uprooting from the ground and sent towards Hiruzen.
Blocking with his staff, Hiruzen's body was pushed back a good deal, but he managed to have Enma's hands erupt out of the staff, and grapple the giant wood hand, long enough for Hiruzen to pull his staff away, and swing it forward, breaking through the entire wooden structure to the point that it turned into small pieces of wood scattered across the ground.
Hiruzen then followed up with his staff being pointed towards Hashirama's protected form.
"If this was First-sama who had no restrictions, this technique wouldn't work. But as he is, this shall have to work in our favour..."
Causing the staff to grow more and more, it shot like a bullet, and broke through the wood, embedding into Hashirama's body and sent him flying backwards, as Yukine slams her hands down, creating a barrier and a seal that wraps around Hashirama's form, sealing him in place.
With both Tobirama, and Hashirama sealed in place, and Orochimaru being unable to move, Hiruzen looks to Yukine who nods, so Hiruzen goes over towards her as fast as he could do.
"Now is the time Yukine!"
Yukine bows her head.
"Yes, it is."
As she said it, Hiruzen begins weaving through some hand signs.
Faster and faster, until he nearly finishes, when Yukine's hand reaches out.
"However, there's one last surprise I've got for you."
As she said it, her hand grasps Hiruzen's own, and forces his hand to weave through some different kind of hand signs.
He wasn't familiar with them.
"Y-Yukine?"
"Hehe, don't worry Hiruzen, it's my last gift to you after all."
"A gift?"
As he was in doubt, she explained with a kind face.
"You think I was gonna let you sacrifice your life here did you?" She giggles out as she finishes the hand signs. "Indeed, you are gonna do the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, summoning that creepy Shinigami with a knife in its mouth...but today, isn't your day to die."
"Yukine...what are you..."
"You wont miss the chance to be with your wife, Biwako-chan. Did you forget that they trusted this technique with me? Of course gonna put my own flare on it."
"Yukine...you can't do this...please don't do this..."
Hiruzen's eyes filled with tears, realizing what she was doing.
Yukine however smiled brightly, something that made Hiruzen cry even more.
"Don't worry, I'll take one for the team this time."
Hiruzen shook his head again and again while Orochimaru looked unsure of what was going on.
Back with Ryouta and the others, a small time before the casting of the Dead Demon Consuming Seal they continued facing down the enemies together, Satsuki and Ryouta got back to back, as they were jumped, slicing down the enemies together, covering the others weaknesses, Naruko looked on and saw no blind spots either.
Slowly but surely, the enemies numbers dwindled, but still a good few left.
Satsuki and Ryouta both felt their chakras lowing dangerously, so when one came to attack, Ryouta went to move, when…
"Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"
Suddenly, Sakura jumps from the side, slamming her fist deep into the enemies body, and sent him flying down to the ground, protecting Ryouta and the others as she did so.
"Sakura-chan..."
Ryouta murmured, as ice suddenly encased around a few of the enemies, followed by devastating winds sweeping through the area, cutting into their bodies, and fully dropped them down to the ground.
As they did, some bugs came shooting out, fully wrapping around the enemies, as puppets came flying down and cut through the enemies bodies.
Landing before the group was Sakura, Haku, Temari, a somewhat recovered Shino thanks to Sakura, and the same for Kankuro.
"Geez, am I glad to see you guys."
Ryouta smiled out as Gaara looked at her siblings for a few moments.
Temari turned around and looked towards Ryouta, giving off a surprisingly sultry wink towards him, which caused his cheeks to turn slightly red.
"Heh, here to save Konoha's Ninja, who would have thought?"
Ryouta lightly laughed as Temari swung her large fan down.
"Ryou-kun, please leave this to us, you've been fighting so hard."
Haku said, as she embedded some of her senbons into the enemies.
Sakura nodded.
"Yes, this is our fight, rest while you can you guys."
Sakura charged forward, and delivered a number of strikes to an enemies upper body before a final strike was given, sending him flying away with high speed, smashing deep into the ground.
Ryouta and Satsuki pull away, as the group before them deals with the mindless enemies, working together to take them down, Ryouta realized that they weren't meant to be that much of a threat, clearly a case of them being disposable, and then there was the mysterious bone user, and how they tied into all of this.
Within a few minutes, they managed to take down the enemies, leaving them all safe.
As they did, they all began to speak, while Ryouta turned to Karin.
"Karin-san, can you tell me if...she might have chakra similar to me...since she is my Mother..."
"W-What? Your Mother?"
Karin was in doubt, as was most of the others.
"You met your Mom?! Wow, what's she like?!"
Naruko yelled excitedly, Ryouta smiled fondly.
"Well...she's amazing, she's kind, she roasts Orochimaru very well. But, she's gentle, and when she hugged me...it was the best feeling, I didn't know it would be that good, since I hadn't ever met my parents before...I never knew what it was like to get hugged by a parent...but, when she did it...I felt so happy."
Ryouta's words caused Naruko to smile.
Haku thought about her own parents briefly, and remembered before her Father did what he did, that it was nice being hugged.
"But your Mom's..."
Satsuki didn't want to say it, however Ryouta gave the short version.
"Mom was brought back by a Jutsu, she's fighting on the good guys side. I wanted...I wanted to know if she was still there, I want to go and see her for one last time, now that this is finished with. So Karin-san, can you please…?"
Karin nodded, and did her best to sense.
It only took her a few moments, before she sensed something that surprised her.
"Yes...it feels like...I see, so it's...okay Ryou-kun, I can sense someone's chakra that feels like yours sort of..."
"Mom's still...I have to go..." Ryouta went to stand, but fatigue took over, and he collapsed to his knees. "No...not now..."
Regret etched itself onto his face.
Since she was still there, he wished desperately to go to her side.
But with his body feeling the effects of all of the fighting…
However, he still tried, and began jumping.
Gaara watched on, and thought about her own Mother.
The Mother she never got to meet.
One that she wished she could have met even a single time.
So seeing Ryouta who shared such an experience of not having a Mother since birth, she caused the sand around her to form a platform, and then she moved to Ryouta's side. Temari and Kankuro were speechless, as she took Ryouta's hand.
"I'll take you."
"Gaara-san...thank you."
The others watched, dumbfounded by the way that Gaara was taken with Ryouta.
No, it seemed more than that, it seemed that Gaara was beginning to change.
From what Ryouta did, how she could relate to Naruko, and more things such as those…
It really was something that made those that knew Gaara like Temari and Kankuro happy to see their sister changing for the better, and even those sceptical about Gaara like Satsuki see her in a better light than before.
Back with Hiruzen and Yukine, a few minutes before Ryouta had left, Hiruzen continues shaking his head, while the Shinigami itself, appears behind Yukine and her soul appears above the body she had inhabited.
The Shinigami wraps its left arm with prayer beads and chants unintelligibly until a cursed seal appears on its arm. It then drives its arm into Yukine's soul, thus allowing her to call upon the Shinigami to seal a target.
Though Hiruzen felt his chakra taking a hit, Yukine was the one that the Shinigami's hand went right through, and latches onto the souls of both Hashirama and Tobirama. She didn't even need Shadow Clones which Hiruzen thought he'd need to seal multiple souls, it seems that Yukine's skill with it was something that he presumed was due to her friendship with Kushina and Minato.
Hiruzen also noticed the Genjutsu that Hashirama cast on him had been dispelled, so his sight was fully restored.
"What the hell is going on?!"
Orochimaru demanded since he couldn't see the Shinigami right now, with Yukine snickering.
"Silly Sensei, I said it was a mistake to summon me. I'm about to show you why."
"Damn wretched girl, tell me what's going on!"
Yukine laughed while Hiruzen gave regretful eyes.
"But Yukine, your husband, Kagami! And your son Shisui! Aren't they waiting for you?!"
Yukine nods slowly, seeing the desperation in Hiruzen's face, his eyes soaking with tears.
"I got to spend time with them for a little while. While I was there, I was happy. Being surrounded with my son and my husband, and my family who died, and I even got to meet my youngest son. My boy...he's grown up to be quite the little fire cracker huh. Jumping into battle to protect others, that son of mine reminds me of myself, and Kagami, we really did have some weird traits huh."
"Yukine...this is...if you do this...you might never see them again..."
Hiruzen pleaded with her.
But she was adamant.
"And if I don't do this, you'll leave when there's something else I need you to do for me."
"What is it?"
Yukine laughs, as her mind cast into the past.
Her memories flooding her mind, and her body shaking as she could see the souls of both Tobirama and Hashirama being dragged towards her, all the while Orochimaru tried to move but couldn't thanks to Yukine's abilities.
"You know, you took me into this village, and even though others might've called you crazy...you still accepted me. Because of that...I got to meet my husband, and had my children. I made wonderful friends. We all became so close, we had children and were gonna do so much together."
"Yes...I know, all of you had your lives cut short..."
"That's why...I need you to do something for me."
"But Yukine...what about you?"
Yukine shrugged.
"I gained a lot of happy memories from living here. So, don't worry about me, I'll be fine, and one day, I'll be free, I'm sure my son will be able to Master many things, and should he need, he'll call upon us again. I'm just sorry that I couldn't be of more help."
Hiruzen gave a hollow laugh.
"You think this isn't help enough Yukine? You're...doing these crazy things again..."
"I know, I've always been a bit odd like that."
Hiruzen, who kept crying, saw the souls of Hashirama and Tobirama nearly gone.
"Yukine...why?"
"Why, it's such a simple question...and it has a simple answer. Because I love this village and I love my son. Didn't I say that I wanted to do the best for his future? There will be enemies that will come...strong, powerful enemies...my son needs to be prepared, for them all. Since I'm not here..."
Hiruzen didn't even have to think about it, and nodded profusely.
"Yes, of course..."
"Thank you...I promise you...that you will meet your wife again...you'll enjoy an afterlife. Though probably best to find a new Hokage, you know? Get some rest Hiruzen."
Hiruzen, in floods of tears, embraced the young woman who did the same thing back.
"Yukine...I'll do it...for you. I promise to do my best."
"Thank you...for everything Hiruzen."
Hiruzen wished that it didn't have to be this way.
He really didn't.
He wanted to change it, but he didn't know how to, Yukine's skills in this Jutsu were something he couldn't fathom right now, her own spin on the Jutsu which Hiruzen couldn't identify right away.
"I'm sorry it has come to this...my weakness in not killing Orochimaru that day..."
Hiruzen held a regretful face, however Yukine shook her head.
"You looked at him as that orphaned little boy, I can't blame you for doing that. Maybe others will...but I know, it's hard, he might be a corrupt evil bastard that's the bane of my existence-" Orochimaru winced. "-but you knew him as a child, that had endless possibilities, like those you saw in me. Because of that...I get it. The next generation will need things prepared."
"I'll...do it Yukine...thank you."
"No problem...say, if you get there before me, tell Kagami...and Shisui...I love them. And of course...Ryou too...my family. There's only Ryou left now...but, he'll be fine, I know it."
She spoke fondly, something that made Hiruzen cry even harder at her noble sacrifice.
As she said it, she suddenly felt Ryouta's presence, with Gaara's own.
Outside of the barrier, Yukine looked on, as Ryouta brought up Kusanagi, and sliced across the barrier, giving them an opening.
"Mom!"
Yukine was happy to see Ryouta before her.
He ran as fast as he could, he moved to her side, while Gaara sat outside of the barrier, recovering from the chakra she had used up.
When getting closer, Yukine grabbed his hand, and when she did, he became shocked to see the arm of the Shinigami running through Yukine, then the Shinigami itself which nearly made Ryouta jump at the sight before him.
"W-What is that?"
"It's the Shinigami, I'm sealing their souls now so they can't be summoned again by normal means."
Yukine replied with Ryouta realizing what that meant.
"But that has to...Mom, you're...not, you're not going to..."
Yukine placed a hand on his face, and gave it a gentle stroke.
"Don't worry about me, I'll be alright."
"But what happens...when that creature seals your soul…?"
Ryouta didn't want to know.
But at the same time felt like he had to know.
"Well, it means that we'll be within the belly of the beast, but for right now, it is better this way. If Orochimaru survives, then...he can't summon us three again, that's why I asked you to do what you did, I'm entrusting the power with you."
"Mom..."
"Don't worry about me, sweetheart. I'll take the memories of you with me and now you've got some of me, though it was brief...I'm glad I could see you."
"Of course...I had to see you one last time...Mom, we've...we've..."
Yukine nods, as the souls of Hashirama and Tobirama finally snap back to their senses.
Their eyes go towards Hiruzen, and express a sorrowful look.
"I'm sorry it came to be like this, Sarutobi. It seems that you have been able to do something that must cost you greatly. And this girl...it seems that you have really found someone that is rather strong."
Tobirama expresses, with Hiruzen bowing his head.
"Yes...she carries the Will of Fire, as does this boy here..."
Tobirama's eyes go towards Ryouta.
He always felt unsure about the Uchiha, feeling as if they couldn't be trusted.
But something was different with this Uchiha.
Hashirama looks towards Ryouta.
"There's something about you, you're different to Madara, yet...I can't find the words...but, it's nice to see that the Uchiha have some kind children within them. I can't sense a spec of hate in you at all. Conviction, yes, but hate, not at all. You are a kind child, I wish Madara had the same kindness that you had, if he did, maybe things could have been different."
Ryouta wasn't entirely sure what Hashirama meant, he was somewhat aware of who Madara was, being an Uchiha he was aware of one of, if not the strongest Uchiha of the past, but what Hashirama meant when he spoke about him, and things being different, he didn't know.
"First-sama...I'm glad that I got meet you."
"Haha...and I'm glad I got to meet you as well, I'm sure the future of the village will be bright within your hands as well as the others. Sorry for causing you all trouble, and that punch I gave you to the face as well as absorbing your chakra when we fought."
"Please don't apologize..."
Ryouta bowed his head, as Hashirama did the same thing.
Tobirama's eyes went towards Ryouta, then lets out a laugh.
"Never thought I'd see the day, an Uchiha without hate in his heart."
Ryouta turned to Tobirama, and lifted a brow.
"My brother was the same as me, he was kind and had a good heart as well."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, and I know Mikoto-san, and Satsuki-chan are also people with good hearts. Even Izumi-chan..."
He wondered about Itachi, he also thought about Izumi and if she was okay.
Tobirama looked surprised, but smiled as his body began crumbling away.
Hashirama gave a belly laugh, as he also vanished.
Ryouta watched as the two bodies appeared, seeing them as a woman and a man, Ryouta could see they were already dead. Hiruzen bowed his head sadly at what happened with the two Kage, but knew this was the best thing they could do at this moment in time.
Then the Shinigami's hand turned to Orochimaru, grabbing the man's body, no his soul, and began pulling it out, while Hiruzen stares at Orochimaru, who freezes in time, so Yukine no longer has to seal his movements.
"W-What the hell?!"
"It's your doom, Orochimaru."
Yukine smirks out, while Orochimaru's face turns sour.
He could see the large Shinigami, while Yukine sees that Hiruzen was panting heavily, his stamina depleted.
"N-No, it can't be! I wont let you!"
"You don't have a choice!"
Yukine snapped back, with Orochimaru's fear being shown as more and more of his hands were being pulled out.
Ryouta thought that this would be a good chance to strike Orochimaru down while he was having his soul be like this, so he raised Kusanagi, and began swinging it…
But as he did, a huge bolt of lightning erupted from the sky, going through an opening in the barrier, and went down towards Ryouta, who avoided it by jumping back, even Orochimaru was surprised by such a thing.
"So you are working with Ameyuri-san after all."
Ryouta recognized the chakra colour of Ameyuri's.
Orochimaru looked genuinely perplexed for a single moment, but then smirked.
"That's right, always have a back up plan."
"Even if you do, it wont stop this Jutsu Orochimaru."
Yukine smiles out, Orochimaru however growls as he sees more and more of his soul being pulled.
Hiruzen panted hard, he could feel his unconscious beginning to fade.
Yukine also saw it, so she looked at the Shinigami.
"Cut his arms off. Lets seal his Jutsu Hiruzen."
"Y...Yes..."
Hiruzen with his last ounce of strength, allowed the Shinigami to lift his arm, grabbing the knife between his teeth, and swung it down, cleaving through the spiritual arms of Orochimaru, while Ryouta continued dodging bolts of lightning.
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Hiruzen's eyes met with Orochimaru's own scared ones, something he hadn't seen in a good long time.
His stamina depleted, and he began falling back.
But Yukine caught the old man, as Orochimaru screamed on the ground.
Hiruzen briefly looked at Orochimaru, and saw him as the same little boy that he had once trained, but only for a moment.
Hiruzen's closing eyes looked towards Yukine, who also seemed to be fading.
The flesh she had began disappearing, as she took out the scroll she stored the clone in beforehand, and revealed Ryouta's clone.
Ryouta himself watches as Ameyuri comes down to Orochimaru, and grabs his body.
"So you're working with Orochimaru?"
"I'd rather work for a Dragon~"
Ryouta was baffled by that, as she began escaping with Orochimaru, and four other Ninja that had been maintaining the barrier.
Ryouta would give chase, but he was spent, he didn't have the chakra to clash with her again, and saw that some Ninja of Oto appeared, with some Konoha Ninja clashing with them, but didn't have much trouble with the Oto Ninja.
Hiruzen's eyes continued to close, while Yukine smiles at him.
"Goodbye Hiruzen."
"Yukine...thank you...even in death...you served this village..."
"Rest, everything will be okay now."
Her soothing gentle voice caused Hiruzen to remember all in Konoha.
The previous generations, the newest generations.
He was able to close his eyes with a smile on his face.
Yukine then turned towards Ryouta, seeing that he was crying at his Mother's departure.
"Mom..."
"My son, did I, live up to expectations?"
"You far surpassed...any expectations I might have had..."
As he spoke, he continued to cry.
But not in a sad way…
He was happy that he got to see his Mother.
Even for only a few moments.
Yukine adopted the biggest smile.
"I'm glad. Thank you for getting that mask. One day Ryou, if you need me, you can get me back. I'm sorry we couldn't finish off Orochimaru, but don't worry...he'll be going through so much pain now, he's gonna be going crazy."
She laughed with a mirth smirk on her face.
"But Mom, that clone..."
"I said before, didn't I? I had one...last gift."
Ryouta watches as Yukine passes the unconscious Hiruzen to him, then she flies through some hand signs, and places her hand on the clone.
As Yukine's form continues to disappear, her eyes go towards Ryouta.
"I might not be able to undo all of the evils Orochimaru has done...but, I can give Pakura-san a final goodbye, a goodbye she deserves. Look at this Jutsu Ryou with your Sharingan, this is the real way to use the Impure World Reincarnation, no one has to be sacrificed like this. This...is the kind way to see those that have passed on. It's something I invented...after seeing the horrors of using living people...I didn't want to use living people...so, I made this way instead to see those that had died, my loved ones. For this limited power I have, she will last a day, then she'll be gone. Tell Pakura-san to use this chance well."
As she said it, like Orochimaru beforehand, but instead of using human sacrifices, the Shadow Clone was used as the sacrifice, and reincarnated Maki through that as Yukine's body was beginning to vanish.
Maki looked on, as Ryouta stared at his Mother with a mixture of sadness and happiness at the same time, seeing that even when she was going, she still wished to give people closure.
"If you ever need me, you know where to find me."
"Mom, I'll free you so you can be with Dad and big brother!"
"Thank you Ryou, don't worry about me, I'll be fine until then...so be happy, I love you."
With those words...she vanished before his eyes.
As she did, he broke down in tears.
His voice couldn't be heard, he didn't utter even a sound.
Gaara watched on from the side, and soon moved closer, she wasn't accustomed to such things, but she embraced Ryouta
But he did cry as he held the unconscious Hiruzen and checked him over as she did, treating the injuries that he had left, with Maki stood beside him, being filled in between the sobs Ryouta gave about what was going on, and though she had pain on her face, she was glad that she would be able to see her Sensei.
When they finally came, them being Pakura and Mikoto, the former saw Maki, her eyes began shedding tears, as she rushed and embraced her, and Mikoto had some of the accompanying Anbu to take Hiruzen away for medical treatment.
"M-Maki! B-But how-"
"Mom's...last gift. She reincarnated her, for a day, so you could...say goodbye the proper way."
Ryouta expressed, and told her about what had happened, and smiled through her tears.
"Your Mom...gave me this chance...I'm, so thankful."
Pakura was grateful, so grateful.
Ryouta then felt Mikoto silently embrace him, seeing how much he had gone through until now.
"Maki...I...I've done...so many things...I wanted to save you...because of me...I was the reason...you died...I'm so sorry Maki..."
Maki shook her head.
"No Sensei...it isn't true. You taught me…so many things. I don't hate you...Sensei. I know...Orochimaru told me...as he...killed me what he was doing...he laughed...but Sensei…I had thoughts of you...as I died...please don't blame yourself, I knew you would do. But this isn't your fault."
"But Maki...I, there's things that I have to make up for..."
"To me Sensei, you were the nicest, kindest Sensei. Orochimaru tried to make you out to be a monster...but, I always knew the truth. I knew you'd never abandon me."
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry that I couldn't save you..."
Pakura wept, Maki took her hands and held them tightly.
"Sensei...I'm glad I could see you one last time, and tell you, how grateful I was to be your student. For so long, I tried my best to be your student, and finally, I managed to be. I hoped that I made you proud."
Pakura laughed through the tears, she found Maki to be rather incredible to simply say such things despite the fact that she was gone.
"Maki...you made me more proud than any Sensei could be. I...I didn't save you...but, I will do my best to change how things go. With the Kazekage now gone...change can happen in Suna and we can grow with other village. Maybe one day...all villages will be able to be at peace."
"That would be great, Sensei."
Ryouta looked them over, before standing up on shaky legs.
"Pakura-san...Maki-san, go, and have the best day. One final day together. Don't waste this time."
Pakura turned to Ryouta.
Even though he himself was overcome with sadness, he still wished to help and be there for others.
"Ryouta-kun...thank you." Pakura moves closer, and places a small kiss on his cheek, catching him by surprise while Gaara looked on curiously. "Not just for this...but for giving me my fighting spirit back. And...you saved Gaara, thank you."
"It wasn't just me, Naruko-chan and Satsuki-chan as well….everyone did their part."
"Maybe so...but, I can see...Gaara's happy with you, that fills me with happiness."
Ryouta nodded, and watched as Pakura walked off with Maki, to have one final day with her.
Mikoto's eyes went towards Ryouta, and saw his depressed eyes.
"Ryouta-kun...you saw your Mom, right?"
"Yes...I saw her...Mikoto-san, my Mom's really cool. If it wasn't for her...then Hokage-sama would be dead now."
"Perhaps...but if it wasn't for you and your power...she'd not even have had a chance to save him, so...Ryouta-kun, you really stepped up during this invasion. You did so many things...so many good things have happened because of your actions, for how far you went, supporting Hokage-sama in a hard battle against your own Mother, and two other Kage level fighters. You've done amazingly well. I'm proud of you."
Mikoto's words made Ryouta smile.
But his mind cast back to the fact that Orochimaru was still out there.
The same for Kabuto to a lesser extent.
"But Orochimaru, and Kabuto, I wanted to get some stuff out of Kabuto as well..."
"They'll have their time, but right now, we won with a few causalities, which is heartbreaking, but they got devastated. If it is the Jutsu that you said it was...Orochimaru's ability to cast Ninjutsu has basically gone out of the window. Still Ryouta-kun, I'm going to recommend they promote you during this, you've shown more than enough power, and intelligence to rise through the ranks."
"That's...That's very kind, thank you Mikoto-san."
"No, sweetheart. Thank you, for all your efforts today. I know...it must've been so difficult to see your Mom for the first time, fight her as she tried to kill you while being brainwashed by a madman...and then lose her all within a short span of time, but you still did fantastic work. You saved lives, and changed the hearts of others, even inspiring Pakura-san to carry on when she thought she couldn't, and because of that, both sides can prosper as much as we can in these dark times. Well done, I'm proud of you."
Ryouta smiled up at Mikoto.
His heart was hurting.
His head was spinning.
It felt exhausted.
But...he got to see his Mother.
Even for a short time, he got to be with the Mother he never knew, fight alongside her, and see her in action.
Because of that...while being sad, he was also happy, though he wondered what was happening with his Mother now...he knew that she did everything for the sake of those she loved, and that he'd free her from such a fate one day.
But first, he was going to take out Orochimaru so he couldn't ever use his Mother or anyone like that again.
Orochimaru, in a constant pained state, had managed to be delivered to a different location by Ameyuri.
Surrounded by his subordinates, Kabuto who was trying to heal his stomach from Ryouta's attack, Orochimaru's wild eyes went towards Ameyuri who smirked right back.
"Why did you save me?"
"Oh I'm sorry, did you not want me to save you?"
Ameyuri's laugh caused Orochimaru's face to scrunch up.
"You weren't apart of my plans, but you saved me, why?"
Ameyuri snickered.
"Because you now owe me, and my current employer a debt."
Orochimaru scowled, the pain in his arms was something that brought him close to tears.
"A debt, to who?!"
"To me."
Stepping out of the darkened forest, was Danzo himself.
Orochimaru's eyebrows furrowed.
"Why would you save me?"
"Because there's a few things we have in common. Before you try anything with me, this is a Shadow Clone, so don't bother attacking me. And any information you try and spread about me, wouldn't be viable from someone as yourself. They'll believe me, before you, especially from today. So let me ask you, will you form an alliance? As of now, you have little of those."
Ameyuri looked at the Danzo clone, and rolled her eyes.
"Tch, I thought that working with me would be against everything you are."
"For the future of the village, for the sake of many things, I have to make sure that it is secured. Your plans hadn't worked, you as well as I know that in Konoha, there are few people that have power to truly make drastic changes to others. The Nine Tails brat, and Ryouta Uchiha are among the few fledglings that have such abilities."
Danzo didn't care for Orochimaru.
In fact, the idea of working with him now, was something he detested.
But for this, to meet his goals, he'd do anything, and when done, he'd dispose of Orochimaru.
Orochimaru also felt similar.
He couldn't trust Danzo, but he could use him.
Since he had been weakened by Hiruzen, and Yukine...this had to be the chance he could make.
He did want Ryouta's eyes, the power of his Sharingan and Mangekyou, more than Itachi's, more than Izumi's, and Satsuki's own, his eyes were what Orochimaru wished for while he had the chance, but more than that, after what Yukine had done, he wanted to make it a point that her son would become his vessel, out of spite for his former apprentice…
But as he thought that, something scary happened to him.
From behind Danzo, a ghostly figure peaked her head out.
It was…
Yukine.

Orochimaru yelled.
Ameyuri looked on, but couldn't see what Orochimaru was looking at.
"Why is who here?"
Ameyuri asked, Orochimaru pointed at Yukine's ghostly form who was moving away from Danzo.
He pointed at thin air in Ameyuri's eyes.
"Her! Can't you see her?!"
"There's no one there."
Ameyuri's words caused Orochimaru to fall into dread.
The ghostly Yukine skipped closer, to the growing fears of Orochimaru.
"Remember Sensei, when our foreheads touched? I said that I'd give you a gift, and that gift is an imprint of me."
Orochimaru cringed and closed his eyes briefly.
Then opened them, seeing Yukine grinning ear to ear.
"No..."
Yukine's arms wrapped around Orochimaru who freaked out.
Orochimaru's face filled with dread.
Yukine...was going to be haunting him.
"Leave me alone you Witch!"
"Hahahaha! Don't be like that Sensei~! We've not even begun yet!"
"Stay away!"
Danzo's clone looked confused as Orochimaru let out a howl as the ghostly Yukine laughed.
Her one last act at revenge for all he had done to her family, and what he could do to her son...

So with this, the invasion of Konoha has come to an end! With Ryouta's group fighting quickly, and managing to push back the forces of Orochimaru, a little cameo of a certain someone who uses bones, and some of the experiments Orochimaru has done with the Curse Mark, with Ryouta managing to inflict a harsh wound to Kabuto, one he wont be forgetting anytime soon.
Yukine and Hiruzen worked together, but for one last twist, she managed to take the consequences, and allowed Hiruzen to live through this fight, and pass on some knowledge to the future generations.
Though Tsunade will still become Hokage, Hiruzen's gonna be around so we'll see how that goes between him and Danzo.
Danzo is also setting some plans in motion, with him assisting Orochimaru as they had done so in the past, and while neither trust the other, out of current necessity for the pair of them with Orochimaru losing some power and Danzo still being carefully watched and thus unable to fully act yet, we'll see how this goes in the future.
Thanks to everyone that voted, I've been getting good points on both sides for Jonin and Chunin and why he should be either, though I will say regardless of rank, Ryouta's still gonna keep growing as a Ninja like as some pointed out, despite Kakashi also being a young Jonin, still was learning and growing. Ryouta, regardless of rank now, shall be a Sensei to a team of Genin by the time Shuppuden rolls around.
As for the rank he'll receive, Hiruzen shall be announcing that to Ryouta pretty soon!
