Omake 12: Chibi Antics (3)

Great Red was having a blast.

After going months, if not years on Hiatus on how to develop cooler tricks, he finally got enough material to get something done rather than nap for whole days. He had gotten better with some of the tricks after just a couple of hours spent preparing, same with relearning old tricks he had slowly forgotten about. Those were meant to be exciting weeks for him and… yet that soon proved to not be the case.

Everything went smoothly and without any trouble… before everything changed for the worst.

It all started when a small portal opened over his head as he was taking a moment to think of what to do next. The tricks' list was limited, but the potential was endless to keep him entertained for some time, so he was slightly distracted when he felt the full force of some slime-like liquid splattering over his scales.

Great Red blinked, annoyed by the sudden 'attack', but his mood softened the very moment he realized that it was honey as he spared a lick at the familiar sweet scent. A small smile formed from his lips as he thought that this was a gift delivered wrongly. A logic which he could accept considering how some things just tended to break when they entered the Dimensional Gap and… glass was not excluded from that list.

But as he fondly prepared to enjoy some of that honey before plotting what to do next, his expectations were further dashed away when the dragon perceived something else fall through that hole. And while those things fluttered majestically for a while, he felt magic take over their fall and fasten it to the point that slammed onto his body, almost overwhelming his whole frame in…

Feathers.

Why the hell would someone throw feathers at him?

The answer manifested through the combination of honey and feathers. The fluttery objects were stuck on him, and moving was… awkward. But the closure of that strange mess was what ultimately delivered the truth. A large mirror landed softly in front of him, a plaque on the upper corner which left him annoyed.

The Great Chicken.

And his reflection confirmed it. No longer showing a proud red-scaled dragon that could decimate armies of Devils with ease… now a massive chicken-like entity that was growing angrier by the second.

"..."

The entity soon took hold of the mirror, shattering it to pieces with its claws. Great Red was shaking, the proud Dragon scorned by some prankster that was going to pay for this slight. He snarled, and then a massive roar rippled through the dimensional gap, manifesting his ferocious spirit at that unforgivable attack to his beauty.

...And even more, an attack he couldn't clean with ease since he had no water to wash away the sticky feathers. Instead, the only thing he could do was put himself on fire and wait until both materials were consumed by the flames. And it was excruciatingly and boringly long. He could tell this was a declaration of war or… a reminder that there was one ongoing.

But while he felt confident that the last option could have been the most likely of cases, he just couldn't imagine someone like Ophis being able to come up with pranks on her own. Childish she might be, but she lacked the creativity to rely on such cheap tricks to piss him off.

Sadly for him, there was some truth to it as Ophis herself would have normally failed to come up with a plan like this on her own. Not because she lacked the skills, but because she lacked the 'cruel creativity' for that. After failing to come up with something on her own, the girl relied on someone she was aware of that had incredible knowledge on this kind of affairs.

So, she asked a question or two and...

"Lord Rizevim, we shouldn't be wasting time with… this," Euclid politely lamented as he watched the two pranksters pushing the large jar of honey and the box that once contained the feathers away from the dimensional hole created by Ophis. "Pranking the Great Red? Isn't that too risky for our operations?"

Lucifer's oldest son chuckled. "Why not? Ophis is not exactly wrong with her idea! I bet the big proud dragon is already seething with his feathers ruffled~."

"If the red moron is angry a lot, he surely would try and get here to fight me," Ophis reasoned childishly. "If he doesn't, he is really a Great Chicken and I… still win, right?"

"You see? She got it correct!" Rizevim agreed, deciding to not ask where the Infinity Dragon had gained an interest in pranks. "Now, we will wait two days, let the big red bruise get incredibly paranoid and hit him again."

Ophis smiled at that next step, feeling like she might have found a solution to her problem without having to waste time with this world's magical politics. Why didn't she invest in this before going on a crusade to piss off the world? It would have made things much easier on her and others, plus it kind of felt… funnier. Less labor and hard work, more amusement and delight. But as much as she felt this was the way to go, she knew that she would have to study this some more.

In fact, she needed some extra 'determination' about it as she knew that more could be done on her own. She just had to study the source of her interest, to hone her skills, to outgrow Rizevim's mastery until she was ready to do this on her own. And who knows, maybe pranks would be enough to get her source of attention to her with minimal fighting. That and some playmates.

Ophis' smile widened. Is this how real 'lighthearted' fun felt like?

AN

Let's be honest, a Prankster!Ophis fanfic would pretty much put the Infinity Dragon on some high-tier BS levels, to the point she would ultimately become the strongest being possible.

REVIEW Q&A!

Zero Vanitas: Maybe.

SPECIALGUY: I'm well-aware of the main mess and… it's a problem that originates mainly on the old way I built Stories. After all, the basis of the first draft remained, something that I believe weakens the overall effort to change things up. Next DxD Story will lack this kind of issue because I will make it less 'serious' but with a smoother flow in terms of storyline. Less action, more fluff and definitely more boobas in some departments.
