Author's note 1: Here's a one-shot where Harry doesn't make an appearance until halfway through the one-shot. Also another one-shot where Harry is paired with a girl in a non-romantic setting.
(OC) Demi Potter
Rita was snooping around the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry while flying around in her animagus beetle form, trying to find any gossiping students and use their source of rumours for a good story to publish in the Daily Prophet. Somewhere out in the woods, the truth-rejecting journalist spotted a white windowless building that had a red door with a gold door handle. The beetle flew down to the ground and reverted back into her original form. As soon as Rita walked up to the door, she grabbed the handle to pull it open. As soon as a hand touched the door handle, Rita felt herself getting electrocuted. It was enough to make her blonde curls stand up on end. After enduring the electrocution for a full sixty seconds, Rita was blasted back by ten feet. The force of landing on her back stunned the beetle. After regaining consciousness, Rita looked up to see a girl with shoulder-length bright-auburn hair in a medium ponytail and emerald-green eyes. She was even dressed in a blue t-shirt, a pair of white jeans, and a pair of gray tennis shoes that were covering a pair of blue ankle-high socks.
'She looks like Lily!' thought Rita as she studied the girl's facial features.
Everyone in the wizarding world knew that Harry's mother, Lily, had bright-auburn hair and emerald-green eyes. They also knew that Lily had a temper that caused anyone close by to put some distance between themselves and the Potter matriarch. For those who earned themselves the receiving end of Lily's wrath, witnessing her temper was much worse than general civilians. This girl before Rita looked like a younger version of Lily because of the resemblance. She certainly looked furious with Rita, but the truth-despising journalist tried to put on an innocent expression. The girl kicked Rita in the side to make it clear that she wasn't going to be fooled in the slightest. Then Rita tried getting up onto her feet and giving the girl puppy-dog eyes, but the girl whipped her wand out and cast a powerful stomach-cramping spell on the egomaniac of a journalist. Rita groaned as she felt a painful cramp in her stomach, resulting in her grasping her stomach while bending forward. Once sixty seconds passed, the girl cancelled the charm and allowed Rita to get up onto her feet.
"What was the meaning of that, missy?!" Rita demanded.
"I'll tell you!" the girl retorted in an angry voice, her emerald-green eyes flashing with anger. "That was to teach you a bloody lesson, you egotistical journalist! You had the bloody nerve to slander my brother in the Daily Prophet. Worst still, you even had those degrading articles about my brother published without asking for permission. How do you explain that, Skeeter?!"
"So you're Harry's sister?" asked Rita.
"Yes!" the girl confirmed. "I'm Demetria Potter, or Demi for short, and I'm a second-year Ravenclaw. Contrary to rumours, my mum didn't die on the night Harry got that scar, it was my dad who was killed at the hands of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, since he fought the darkest wizard of the century. I was born on the twentieth of March in 1982 and sorted into Ravenclaw House. Mummy is furious with you for slandering Harry and equally furious with Dumbledore for arranging my brother getting kidnapped and blackmailing Hagrid and McGonagall. The ole coot has already been arrested for his crimes and I think it's time you get arrested for your's."
Rita whipped her wand out and tried to hex Demi, but the Potter girl was too quick. She disarmed the egomaniacal journalist and cast a spell to give Rita a severe cramp in her left arm. Rita grasped her arm as she seethed in pain, allowing Demi to grab the journalist by the wrist and drag her following behind into the windowless building. Rita realized that it was a small room with an elevator and Demi shoved the slandering writer into the elevator before getting in herself. Then Demi activated the lever to make the elevator descend. After half a minute, the elevator stopped and Demi opened the door, grabbed Rita by the wrist and again dragged her following behind. They eventually reached a room where they came across not only Harry, but his and Demi's mother, Lily.
"I've got Skeeter right here, mummy!" Demi informed her mother.
Rita gulped when she saw Lily marching over towards her and Demi, with Demi informing her mother that Rita tried to hex her. Lily praised her daughter for giving the journalist a piece of her mind, then the Potter matriarch turned her attention to Rita just as her emerald-green eyes flashed with anger. Rita gulped in fear to see that Lily was entering 'mama eagle' mode, intending to show the truth-despising journalist the hard way not to attack her daughter and not to slander her son. Lily gave Rita a good beating, leaving Rita bruised and scratched. Then an alarm bell went off, resulting in Lily dragging Rita back over to the elevator, with Harry and Demi standing guard behind to ensure Rita couldn't escape.
"What now?" Rita demanded.
"You'll find out in a minute, Skeeter!" Harry sneered, just as Demi gave the journalist the middle finger.
Once they made it inside the elevator, Lily cranked the lever up to make the elevator ascend. When the elevator stopped, Lily opened the door and dragged Rita over to the red door with a gold door handle, lifted the handle up and opened the door. Rita gasped in fright to find Amelia Bones and several aurors behind her. Lily shoved Rita over towards Amelia, allowing the aurors to aim their wands at the journalist. Rita was placed in magic-suppression handcuffs, read her rights and dragged away to be taken into custody to await trial for her crimes.
"Would you two like to spend some time out in London?" Lily asked her children. "Harry especially needs to catch up on our missed bonding moments."
"Yes please, mummy!" Harry and Demi chorused ecstatically.
Then Harry and Demi followed their mother over to the Three Broomsticks Tavern in Hogsmeade, so they could floo to the Leaky Cauldron and go out into London. With Rita finally dealt with, the Daily Prophet was free to start hiring more competent employees and get it's reputation repaired. For once, luck was on Harry's side.
The End!
