Greengrass Sisters
Rita was flying around in her animagus beetle form, hoping to find some gossiping students and use any of their discussions for potential stories to publish in the Daily Prophet. The truth-hating journalist flew over the woods and spotted something she least expected. It was Harry Potter, her favourite celebrity to write about, and he was accompanied by the Greengrass girls. Rita knew Daphne was holding Harry's right hand, she had armpit-length blonde hair and was dressed in a green short-sleeve t-shirt and a pair of capri gray jeans. Astoria was the one holding Harry's left hand, she had shoulder-length blonde hair and was dressed in a silver short-sleeve polo shirt and a pair of white jean trousers. Both girls were wearing brown leather sandals. Harry was dressed in a gray short-sleeve t-shirt, a pair of jeans and white sneakers. Rita flew into the trees some and changed back into her original form and when Harry and the Greengrass girls walked by, Rita stepped out from her hiding spot and began smoothly following the three students.
'Oh no!' thought Rita as she felt a tickle in her throat.
As hard as she tried, Rita developed an uncontrollable urge to cough and she ended up doing so. Naturally, Harry and the Greengrass girls stopped and turned around to find Harry's least favourite journalist. The three students quickly folded their arms across their chests and gave the truth-despising journalist a nasty glare, seeing through Rita quickly trying to put on an innocent grin.
"Hello, Skeeter!" Harry greeted Rita in a rather displeased tone of voice.
"What's with the Greengrass girls hanging around you, Harry?" asked Rita, intending to be nosy.
"Oh I don't know!" said Harry in a sarcastic tone of voice, with Daphne and her sister smirking.
"If you didn't, they wouldn't be here with you." said Rita.
"Just our little celebration," Harry began explaining. "I discovered my inheritance after I read my parents' will. I gave that to Amelia Bones to help get my godfather, Sirius Black, the trial since he never got one. He was chucked into Azkaban without a trial. Sirius is getting one of his family manors cleaned up and ready, now that he's been cleared of the alleged crimes. He even made me his heir to House Black to ensure that ferret boy couldn't inherit the Black money. Sirius even told me that he and Daphne and Tori's father Dennis drew up a betrothal contract for me and Daphne, since that unjust stay in Azkaban will prevent Sirius from having children and asked me to help carry the Black line for him."
"Something I was happy with, since I like the name of Daphne Black better than Daphne Potter," Daphne began explaining. "Since I didn't have to worry about other fathers, like Theo Nott's for example, trying to threaten dad into drawing up a marriage contract to have me marry him with the claim of some debt repayment. For a while, Tori was heartbroken because she was under contract to marry the ferret, since ole Luci pressured dad into drawing up that marriage contract as a debt repayment because ferret boy wanted to marry Tori. We had a suspicion that Lucius was lying about it being a debt repayment, but there wasn't any proof and he likely was keeping that hidden to ensure ferret boy could marry my sister, which would've happened on his eighteenth birthday."
"What was Tracey's reaction to finding out about your being betrothed to Harry?" Rita asked Daphne, knowing Tracey and Daphne were best friends.
"Totally supportive," stated Daphne. "Even her boyfriend, sixth-year Terence Higgs, was happy. Ferret boy was one of the reasons Terence lost his seeker position a few years ago. They went to the Yule Ball as dates and talked for like four months before making it official that they're dating."
"But back to the discussion," Astoria (or Tori as she often went by) began her explanation. "I was temporarily heartbroken when Daphne informed me of being betrothed to Harry through the Black line because I was still stuck in that marriage contract with Draco. When ferret boy found out, he tried to get a rise out of Harry for the umpteenth time. But I feel that Harry should explain the next part."
"The next part was pretty funny for most of the student body at Hogwarts," Harry began revealing. "Upon spotting Daphne sitting next to me at Gryffindor's table in the Great Hall at breakfast this morning, he trembled in rage and tried to get Tori to convince Daphne into calling off the betrothal contract so he could have her, too. Naturally, Daphne refused and so did I, even when ferret boy threatened to bring his father in to set things right, as the ponce likes to put it. Lucius doesn't scare me because his vileness is where Draco gets it. Then ferret boy tried to call up a duel with me again, but I rejected that because of the midnight duel he called up a few years ago and backed out in a failed attempt to get me, Ron, Neville, and a reluctant Hermione expelled. Many gasps were heard in the Great Hall when they found out, but Tori was over the moon to hear that. She even explained that because Malfoy backed out of the duel he called up, he sacrificed that marriage contract to me. Daphne even explained how doing that resulted in ferret boy having committed politcal and social suicide that way. Now he's an outcast and everybody started jeering and laughing at Malfoy while he eventually got a howler from his father at lunchtime."
"How did you react to that?" Rita asked Tori.
"I gave him a great, big hug and gave him kisses on both of his cheeks," Tori revealed, just as she and Harry blushed. "All the while saying 'thank you' to him repeatedly as I continued hugging him. Harry kind of tensed up when that happened, but he relaxed and let me continue expressing my thanks even if he did it inadvertently. Even Parkinson was outraged at ferret boy's stupidity, since that was like a wake-up call for her because she smacked him across the face for it."
"Needless to say," Harry told Rita. "The fangirls of the Boy-Who-Lived were crushed when they found out that they lost their chances at being the future Mrs. Potter. During the summer holidays, when the summer holidays start, we'll even get the marriage contract switched to a betrothal contract since Tori and I felt that it's better than a marriage one."
"But now's the time to get your long-overdue comeuppance, Skeeter!" Daphne informed the journalist, in a delighted voice. "In the form of suing the trousers off of you."
"I don't want the trousers sued off of me!" Rita whined.
"Okay." said Tori.
She quickly whipped her wand out and cast a spell on Rita to make her clothes disappear. Rita looked down in shock to see that she was now in her bra and panties (both of which were red with black polka-dots), and barefoot. Harry, Daphne, and Tori began giggling like crazy, not having expected Rita to wear something like that. Rita's face turned bright-red as she tried to cover herself with her arms.
"What was that all about?" Rita whined again.
"You said you didn't want the trousers sued off of you," said Tori. "So I did the opposite because you always wrote the opposite of what people, mainly Harry, would say."
Tori cast another spell to make Rita all dazed, allowing Daphne to pull Rita's glasses off and Harry to tie a blindfold over the journalist's eyes and adding a spell to prevent it from being untied. Then Daphne used a spell to add a pair of short shorts and then a pair of black knee-high boots to Rita. Tori took care of adding a mid-sleeve cropped shirt (with the sleeve cuffs right above the elbows) and a pair of black elbow-length gloves. Harry made sure the shirt and shorts were gold in colour. Daphne cancelled the daze spell while Harry cancelled the charm preventing the blindfold from being untied. After Harry untied the blindfold and pulled it away, Daphne gave Rita her glasses back. After putting her glasses back on, Rita looked down at the new outfit she was wearing. Rita looked down and saw the boots and gloves she was wearing, along with the gold shirt and shorts. Then Rita tried covering her exposed belly with her arms, resulting in Harry and the Greengrass girls giggling again.
"That outfit looks good on you, Skeeter!" the Greengrass sisters told the journalist, in unison.
"You need this perfume created by Tori." Harry told Rita, handing her a bottle of spray perfume.
Thinking she was let off the hook, Rita grabbed the bottle and began spraying the perfume all over herself. Then she carelessly tossed the bottle away before walking away. It wasn't easy for the journalist because she never wore boots before, especially that she was wearing high-heeled boots. As soon as she was out of sight and earshot, Harry and the Greengrass girls started smirking.
"Skeeter will be in for a nasty shock very quickly!" Harry, Daphne, and Tori responded in unison, as they giggled again.
Then they continued on walking through the woods, with Daphne holding Harry's right hand and Tori holding his left hand. Rita made it to Hogsmeade Village in the outfit she was wearing. Someone spotted her, pointed in the direction just as the person got everyone's attention. For a second Rita thought they were attracted to her because of the perfume, but she quickly realized that it was an angry mob. Widening her eyes in horror, Rita immediately turned around to make a run for it. That was a bad idea for her due to not being used to wearing boot, resulting in Rita stumbling over and falling to the ground. That allowed the angry mob to catch up to her and give her a beating because they were the same victims of her slandering. The DMLE arrived shortly after and had Rita placed in magic-suppression handcuffs.
"Now Rita," Amelia Bones began informing her. "You're under arrest for multiple counts of slander and trespassing. You don't have to say anything, for it may harm your defence in court. Anything you choose to say can be given in evidence."
Now Rita was even more humiliated, since she was arrested in the outfit she had been given and also had bruises, scrapes and scratches for the beating she got from the angry mob. With Rita finally dealt with, the Daily Prophet was free to repair it's reputation and hire more competent employees. For Harry, he had two girls helping in looking out for him. For once, things were looking up.
The End!
Author's note 2: I'd like to give a shoutout to 'magitech' for suggesting that Draco backing out of the midnight duel he called up with Harry be known to the wizarding world and have it be political and social suicide for the Malfoy boy.
