Tracey Davis
Albus was working on some paperwork in his office when the silver instruments on his desk started going haywire. The headmaster checked because one of them (which had green smoke emitting from it) was monitoring the tracking charm he placed on Harry and the second one (which was emitting red smoke) was monitoring the bond of blood charm placed around the Dursleys house on Privet Drive in Little Whinging. The red smoke indicated that a visitor who wasn't a threat to Harry arrived at the Dursleys (since black smoke indicated an enemy), while the other instrument emitting green smoke indicated that Harry was no longer under the charm (since otherwise it would've emitted blue smoke).
'Whatever Harry is doing, he needs to stay cool and calm,' thought Albus desperately, as he left his office to walk outside the school wards and apparate over to the Dursleys. 'He'll be in danger if he leaves his family. He needs to fulfill the prophecy for the Greater Good.'
Before apparating, Albus transfigured his colourful robes into a muggle outfit. Once he made it to an abandoned alley close by Privet Drive, the headmaster checked his surroundings to make sure the coast was clear before walking out and head for the Dursleys house. Dumbledore knew that Harry lost his godfather, but Harry needed time to himself to grieve before returning to 'preparing for his destiny.' Upon making it to the house, Dumbledore saw that the front door was partly open and went inside to investigate. In the living room, Dumbledore saw that the Dursleys were not only tied up, but they were also knocked out-cold. Upon hearing some commotion coming from upstairs, Albus began climbing up the stairs and saw Harry walking out of his bedroom with a girl who had shoulder-length brown hair hanging down and cobalt-blue eyes. The headmaster knew that the girl was Tracey Davis, a Slytherin girl in the same year as Harry. Harry and Tracey didn't seem too pleased to see Dumbledore, judging by their angry looks and their arms getting folded across their chests.
"What may we do for you, professor?" asked Harry and Tracey in unison, with contempt directed at one of their least favourite school officials.
"To inform you that your presence here is inappropriate, Miss Davis," Albus began 'lecturing' Tracey. "You're going to endanger Harry and his family by staying here."
"I don't see that happening, professor," said Tracey defiantly. "I came here to get Harry away from those filthy arseholes of his relatives. If you think that Harry has to suffer from abusive treatment from those pricks, then you are making a tremendous mistake. Otherwise, making Harry return here despite the inevitable was all a choice of some sort."
"I assure you, Miss Davis, that Harry is safer here than anywhere else." Dumbledore asserted.
"Ha, anybody with a brain stem knows that that's ass-backwards thinking," Tracey retorted. "And I assure you that Harry hates it when someone tries to meddle with his life, especially without his permission."
"Tracey's right, professor," said Harry in a matter-of-fact voice. "After you told me that prophecy, I already decided I wasn't going to 'fulfill' it because it's not my concern. Everybody has the right to live their life however they choose. You should be happy that I decided not to go down the path of a criminal. Those blood charms you claimed to have cast around here have to be illegal because no one else seems to be aware of it."
"It was for your safety, Harry," Dumbledore asserted again. "I must ask you to give your relatives another chance and forgive them. I already told you that the blood charms would work as long as Petunia willingly takes you in and treats you like her own son."
"And none of that even happened," Harry reminded his headmaster. "Like I told you the other day, Petunia only took me in bitterly and grudgingly."
"She still took you in." Dumbledore tried countering.
"You said it had to be willingly," stated Harry. "The Dursleys were never going to take me in willingly, they made it clear to me for as long as I could remember. I don't think my parents would've been happy with you for placing me here. The way Petunia talks about my mum implies that she didn't want to make amends. Petunia kept pushing my mum away and not even bothering to reach out to her at all."
"Your mother's sacrificial protection requires you to stay here during the summer holidays, Harry," Dumbledore asserted, again ignoring Harry. "Until they're fully recharged, which is on your birthday."
"Like Tracey said, that's ass-backwards thinking, headmaster," said Harry. "I'm not as dumb as some people assume."
"How'd you meet Harry, Miss Davis?" asked Albus.
"On a Hogsmeade weekend in our fourth year," Tracey explained. "Before our guests arrived for the Triwizard Tournament. Harry was at Honeydukes with Neville and me and Daphne sort of ran into them. We've been secretly meeting up with each other since."
"Harry, I'm afraid your association with Miss Davis is dangerous," Dumbledore tried asserting again, getting more and more impatient. "You'll put her and her family in harm's way."
"Like Tracey said, I hate it when someone tries to run my life on their terms," said Harry. "You have no right to tell what I can or can't do. As it turned out, I became emancipated as a result of being forced to compete in the Triwizard Tournament, when Tracey informed me that the minimum age of emancipation is fifteen."
Dumbledore widened his eyes in shock to have found out about that, he couldn't believe that he missed it. Nevertheless, he still needed Harry to fulfill the prophecy for the Greater Good. He wasn't convinced that he was being told everything, so Albus tried to use legilimency on Tracey. Dumbledore underestimated that given how Tracey's best friend was Daphne Greengrass and how she taught Tracey how to do occlumency. That resulted in Dumbledore getting a headache when Tracey's mental barriers stopped his attacks. That gave Harry and Tracey some time to bring out squirt guns. Harry had some kind of water pistol while Tracey had what looked like a super soaker. After Dumbledore recovered, he gave the teens before him an incredulous look.
"These are squirt guns," Harry told the headmaster. "You fill them up with water and pull the trigger to squeeze water out."
Harry did just that as a demonstration, squirting Dumbledore in the face four times. Dumbledore wiped his face with his hands like crazy and continued giving the teens the same incredulous look. In a last-ditch attempt to find more hidden information, Dumbledore tried to give Harry direct eye contact to use legilimency on him, only to find that Harry wouldn't look him in the eye. Tracey used the super soaker to squirt soapy water in Dumbledore's face, resulting in the ole coot squeezing his eyes shut tightly as the stinging pain flared up.
"The stinging pain will last for fifteen minutes, professor," Tracey told Dumbledore. "Now if you'll excuse us, Harry and I have no more business being here."
Tracey picked up Hedwig's empty cage while Harry dragged his trunk behind him. He wasn't at all worried because Hedwig always managed to find him no matter where he turned up. After the fifteen minutes were up, Dumbledore wiped the soapy water away, blinked hard several times and headed for Harry's room (the smallest bedroom in the house). Upon walking into the bedroom, a trap door opened up and made the headmaster fall in and slide for five minutes. After that, Albus flew off the chute and landed on a pile of dirt udnerground. He widened his eyes in horror to see that it was Griphook the goblin and the head Gringotts goblin Ragnok, and they were both angry and delighted.
"You've incurred a debt of fifteen million galleons for stealing it from the Potter family vault, Albus!" growled Ragnok. "You'll have to work that off in the Gringotts prison mines for fifteen years, one million galleons for every year."
Ragnok and Griphook grabbed Dumbledore by the wrists and dragged him away, ignoring his please that it was all for the Greater Good. Now the ole coot had to pay the debt off in Gringotts prison mines and Dumbledore wasn't looking forward to it. With Albus taken care of, Harry was free from his negative and influence and could be with people who cared about him. For once, luck was on Harry's side.
The End!
