This was written for the five drabbles challenge. I used the word window for my prompt. I own nothing you recognize.

Alicia had been trying to find an excuse to be around Adrian since school started. He had glanced her way several times and given her polite nods when they passed each other in the hallways. She had gotten scowls from the other Slytherins for that.

One day after dinner she saw him duck into the library so she followed him in. She glanced around and tried not to seem like she was being obvious, but she spotted him right away working on potions homework they had been assigned to.

He stood up to get a book and Alicia widened her eyes as she grabbed one also. She propped one open and started walking towards him but kept her eyes on her book. She purposefully bumped into him, causing his book that he was carrying to fall out of his hands.

"I'm so sorry. Let me get that for you," Alicia said quickly. They both bent down and reached for the book at the same time. Their hands touched briefly and her stomach actually flipped at how warm his touch felt.

Their hands lingered much longer than necessary and she managed to glance up into his eyes.

Big mistake. Her heart flipped and she moved her hand away when their eyes connected as if it had been burned and tucked some hair behind her ear. "Hi," she said, suddenly feeling shy. It was ridiculous, Alicia never felt shy around guys ever.

A flicker of recognition appeared in Adrian's eyes as he slowly smiled at her. "Hey, Alicia."

"Hi. Adrian." Alicia closed her eyes and shook her head. She already said hi. All of a sudden it seemed like she had forgotten every word to ever exist.

Except one.

"Bye!" She jumped to her feet quickly and started to take off, ducking her face in embarrassment.

If she had looked back she would have seen that Adrian had turned around to watch her leave. He wore an amused expression and he shook his head as she left. "Bye," he murmured even though she was long gone.

He continued doing his homework with a pleased smirk on his face.
