A/N - I really love this story but somehow, can't seem to write more at any great pace, writers block I guess you can call it, I literally have no idea where this will go.

I am sorry it has taken this long for an update to this one, I have been writing others.

This chapter was just so hard to write, no idea why.

I get that this isn't the most popular story of the series, so I am thankfully and glad to those who read and enjoy it.

"Oh that will take quite some time!" Lucifer unashamedly slid into their private conversation.

Both John and Grace stared at the man grinning Infront of them, the man had been standing across the room a second ago, apparently doting over his younger sister but now here was here, standing next to them. There was no way he could have heard their quiet conversation but before John could say anything to that effect he was interrupted by an outside voice,

"Lucifer, you should take Cass home, she needs to rest."

John wasn't sure who had actually said those words but he kind of agreed with the statement and sentiment, the poor girl had been through a serious trauma even though she appeared at the moment to be physically fine, John know there is likely to be some sort of PTSD which was currently was currently being buried underneath that easy going demeanour Cassiel seemed to have. He was sure the young girl needed to get some rest before being questioned by them and then maybe a therapist.

"Why would I want to do that Detective? We need to find these people! Cassiel is perfectly fine, just look at her," John watched as Lucifer swept his arm out to demonstrate this fact, but he quickly dropped it as did his smiling face. John could see the young woman in question was cuddled up inside Ella's warm embrace looking broken, not the strong woman he saw march out of Ella's lab a few moments ago and not the same woman he had spent the last day interacting with, she looked so small and scared now and John hated seeing it as did the so called Devil, who immediately reacted. "I think you are correct in your assumptions Detective, now if you will excuse us, we will be off then."

Lucifer moved smoothly but with a focused purpose as he quickly extracted his sister from Ella's arms, he gave the lab tech a small smile then they were just both gone, John had barely the time to blink. "What? What just happened?" John asked no one in particular.

"I'm so sorry Brother," Cassiel hung her head low, she looked miserable as if any of this was her fault Lucifer thought as she spoke,

"Whatever for my dear little one?" Lucifer responded as he walked around the bar with two glasses in his hands, handing one to Cassiel as he moved through the space.

"For being such a burden!"

"My dear little one, I have never considered you to be a burden to me or any of those we call family, you may be a pain in my arse sometimes but never a burden." Lucifer was firm in that statement but not unkind, suddenly was enveloped in a rather Ella inspired hug. "What is it with you and Miss Lopez and the hugs?" He wrapped his arms around her though with no further complaint.

"But I have caused so many problems since my arrival here!" Cass said into Lucifer's shoulder.

"None of which are is your doing, you were brought here against your will, kidnapped and then abused, now we have this incident. I would assume there is a point to this, but as usual Dad fails to provide any useful details." Lucifer huffed out the response but still managed a small smile at his sister, she needed some sense of normality, acceptance and plenty of love, all of which he was more than willing to provide.

John Nolan sat alone at the bar at Lux, he was nursing a very pleasant whiskey, he was swirling it around in his glass as he gazed absent mindedly across the dance floor allowing himself a small minute of normality and peace.

His mind was racing regardless to the distractions around him and there were plenty of those to be found. "It has been a strange day that's all, these things happen all the time, right? and that is just the simple explanation to all of this! But why isn't that siting right." John whispered to himself as he took a mouthful of his drink, he appreciated the burn and the minor distraction it caused as the liquid moved through him.

"You seem troubled." A voice suddenly stated, John slightly jumped as he turned to face that of the smiling bartender,

"What makes you say that?" John enquired,

"Not the first time I have seen that look! I am a professional at this type of thing ya know, being the all-knowing bartender and stuff." The man said as he continued to clean the glass he was holding.

"It has just been a weird day that's all, but I can't quite be sure as to why I feel that way, it's this feeling I have in my gut, which just makes it even stranger, I usually have good instincts when it comes to these sorts of things but today has just been."

"Weird?" The bartender leant forward and topped up John's glass. "Tends to happen around the boss, I wouldn't worry about it if I were you!"

"Easy for you to say."

"Easy? No, it is just simpler!" The bartender smirked.
