Ch. 78

Carrow Twins

Dolores was working in her office trying to get the last of the Defence Against the Dark Arts assignments graded. It had been two days since the centaurs dragged her away as a result of the evil toad repeatedly insulting them. As much as she knew it, Umbridge was never going to acknowledge it, instead she blamed her misfortune on her least favourite person, Harry Potter. A knock at the door was heard and Umbridge called for her visitors to come in. The door swung open and in walked Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson.

"Professor," Draco started informing Dolores. "We spotted Potter going up towards the seventh floor with a couple of brown-haired girls."

Delighted by the news, Dolores got up and followed Draco and Pansy over to where Harry and his companions were heading. They made it to the seventh floor and discovered that Harry was accompanied by twin girls. Dolores, Draco, and Pansy recognized the girls as the Carrow twins, as they were Slytherin students in their fourth year. They knew Flora liked having her hair down while Hestia liked keeping her's in a ponytail. Harry and the Carrow twins folded their arms across their chests as they glared at Dolores, Draco, and Pansy. Draco, being a lecherous person, eyed the Carrow twins with lust. True, they weren't drop-dead gorgeous like Daphne Greengrass or Tracey Davis, but the Carrow twins were pretty in their own way. Pansy whacked Draco on the back of the head to get him to snap back to reality. The Carrow twins were also extremely fond of the colour green, and they were both wearing green short-sleeve t-shirts, jean shorts, and gray sneakers.

"What are you two doing associating yourselves with Potter, Miss Carrows?" Umbridge demanded.

"Why not?" the Carrows retorted in the same twin speak the Weasley twins were famous for.

"They aren't any of those idiots who'd rather live in the past by keeping that pointless rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin ongoing." stated Harry as the Carrow twins nodded their heads in confirmation.

"You'd better take that back and say something polite, Potter!" growled Umbridge.

"One must not tell lies, Umbitch!" Harry retorted, not intimidated in the slightest.

"You wouldn't want to get in trouble with mummy and daddy, now would you?" Umbridge asked the Carrow twins, rather foolishly.

That turned out to be the wrong thing to say because at that moment, the Carrow twins' blue-gray eyes flashed with anger as they quickly whipped their wands out and began casting several stinging hexes at the evil toad of a woman. Draco and Pansy tried to fire stinging hexes at the Carrow twins, only to have their wands disarmed by Harry (who pocketed the wands), who even disarmed Umbridge and pocketed her wand. The glare on the Carrow twins' faces was enough to frighten Umbridge, Draco and Pansy.

"Don't you ever think of mentioning the names of our biological parents!" the Carrow twins warned the three Slytherins on the ground in dangerous voices.

"Well, you're supposed to follow in their footsteps." Umbridge replied, trying to hide her collywobbles.

"We haven't lived with them in a long time," the twins explained in fierce voices. "That's because our biological parents, Carmichael and Alecto, never cared about us and we had to fend for ourselves. We escaped to Orphan Alley located somewhere in Diagon Alley when we were nine-and-a-half. We met Harry in Diagon Alley three-and-a-half weeks before his third year started, which was when we were due to start our second year. We kept our friendship with Harry secret until the formation of Dumbledore's Army to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves."

"Yes," Harry began explaining his part of the story. "And to throw even more people off, Katie Bell was my date for the Yule Ball, she was one of the few who knew about my secret friendship with the Carrow twins. Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and the rest of my quidditch teammates were some others. Everybody in Dumbledore's Army eventually found out and while a small portion didn't look too pleased, the rest warmed up to them. Flora and Hestia were even the reason why you failed to catch me and the rest of Dumbledore's Army, since they made sure to throw you and the rest of the Inquisitorial Squad off track.."

"Precisely," the Carrow twins told Dolores, Draco and Pansy. "We were so irritated that we kept getting labelled as the twins of the notorious Carrows that we wanted to make a real name for ourselves. We may be biological twin daughters of two notorious death eaters, but we never saw them as family as we weren't treated as such."

"Besides," said Harry in a delightful tone of voice, beckoning Dolores, Draco, and Pansy to follow him and the twins. "We have something we want to show you."

Wondering what Harry and the Carrow twins had in mind, Dolores, Draco and Pansy followed them. They were still on the seventh floor, and Harry and the twins stopped in front of an empty classroom with the door open, but was blocked by a green curtain with a giant question mark on it.

"This is the Hogwarts Mystery Room," Harry explained to the arrogant Slytherins. "It's called that because one doesn't know what the room really is or what it's used for. It's different for every visitor."

"But once you go in," the twins warned the Slytherins before them. "You may never come out."

His curiosity piqued, Draco practically jogged towards the curtain and behind it into the strange room. Then a couple seconds later, Draco was heard screaming and it eventually faded out. Worried for Draco, Pansy jogged into the strange room herself, only to start screaming a couple seconds later (which, too, started fading out). Umbridge was stunned the whole time because she had no idea what would happen to her should she followed her second-in-command and third-in-command. It didn't take her very long she couldn't take the suspense anymore, so she waddled her way behind the curtain. It took a couple seconds before she screamed, the sound which also began fading out. Harry and the twins began laughing themselves like silly.

"They won't realize that they'll be falling in that void for the rest of their days." Harry laughed.

"No kidding!" the twins giggled in agreement. "But it serves them right for being pricks."

Then Harry, Flora and Hestia walked away as the entrance door revealed itself to be the entrance to the Room of Requirement. Then it allowed the three entry so it could be used as a means to give the three some alone time. Harry called for Dobby and Winky to take Dolores', Draco's and Pansy's wands to Amelia Bones so she could investigate them and find out if they used any illegal and dangerous spells. Then Harry and the twins kicked their shoes off and sat down on a couch to have a snogging session, with Flora going first and then Hestia getting a turn to have her snogging session with Harry. Meanwhile in the void (which was dark-red with never-ending vertical lines leading in the bottomless pit), Draco, Pansy and Dolores kept screaming as they continued falling into the bottomless void. But nobody was going to feel any sympathy, since those three were the most arrogant of the Inquisitorial Squad members. Harry was free from their clutches and no longer had to worry about the lifelong quidditch ban, the educational decrees, the blood quill detentions, his mail confiscated for no reason, and the iron fist Umbridge had been ruling the school with. For once, luck was on Harry's side.

The End!
