Prompt - 'unless I screw this up, I'm going to marry you.'
"So," said Harry brightly, " this is going well, for a first date. Unless I screw this up, I'm going to marry you."
Ginny grinned back at him, next to him in the booth at a cafe.
"Technically, this isn't even our first date. You're here for your best friend and I'm here for moral support for my brother. It's actually their first date," she said.
In unison, they looked across the table at the duo on the other side. Although there had been some uncomfortable silences earlier, they were now getting along well.
"You're right, this isn't our first date. Oy, you two!" called Harry, and Hermione and Ron stopped their chat to see what Harry wanted.
"Things seem to be going really well here, so Ginny and I are gonna make like a tree and leave," announced Harry.
Hermione groaned at his lame pun but Ginny laughed, because of course, she loved it.
"You sure, Ginny?" asked Ron, with a sidelong look at Harry, who he'd heard so much about from Hermione.
"He's either crazy or it's love," shrugged Ginny
"Definitely love," nodded Harry.
He got out of the booth, holding his hand out for Ginny to take as she herself got out. They both felt the tingling when their hands first touched.
"She'll be fine, Ron and I'll make sure she gets home if you'll do the same for Hermione," said Harry.
"Where are you going?" asked Hermione.
"We've got a future to plan," grinned Harry.
Ginny squeezed his hand and together, they left.
