Prompt – I don't know what made me fall for you.
My charms perhaps?
Set during HBP after the kiss in the common room.
She'd escaped to the library to appease Hermione, who'd been nagging her – in a best friend kind of way – to study. It helped to get away from the staring eyes and whispers that followed her, ever since she and Harry had gotten together after that epic Quidditch match against Ravenclaw.
Not to mention that epic kiss in the Gryffindor common room.
She really didn't give two hoots about studying; she was confident she knew enough to pass and maybe even do quite well but, apart from missing Harry, the solitude was a pleasant change.
She'd been buried in her Charms books; it was her favourite lesson, after all, when she became aware of a presence close by. Her heart beat that little bit faster.
"You can come out, Harry, I'm completely alone," she said softly, lest anyone even remotely close, heard her.
A hand pulled off an invisibility cloak and Harry emerged, hair even more ruffled than usual.
"How's the studying going?" he asked.
"Good, in fact, I think I'm done," she replied confidently.
He looked surprised and hopeful. "Yeah? Hermione told me you'd be two hours at least."
"Hermione suggested I study everything from my first year till now. I chose to listen to her advice and then reject it," she told him primly, although he wasn't fooled by the twinkle in her eyes.
" That confident, huh?" he asked.
She nodded. "I'm confident I know enough to pass that will satisfy my mother," she told him.
From over his shoulder, she saw Romilda Vane creep closer, pretending to be looking for a book, although her eyes darted to the two of them every other second. She held a recording device in her hand; Ginny recognised it as an WWW item.
"Harry?"
"Hmmm?"
"Duck."
"Huh?" He looked confusedly at her.
"Duck...now!"
Without hesitation, he ducked his head close to the table, as Ginny sent a Bat Bogey Hex towards Romilda. A cry from that direction told her she'd hit her target, which gave her a sense of satisafaction.
"What the - ?" asked Harry, looking behind him, only to see Romilda scurry off, her hands covering her nose.
"Was that your infamous Bat Bogey hex?" he asked, somewhat in awe.
She nodded.
"You're not like any other girl," he said happily. "I don't know what made me fall for you," he teased.
" My charms, perhaps," she quipped.
He leaned in; she met him halfway for a snog.
"That's just one of the many reasons," he confided.
"Colour me intrigued," she told him. "Tell you what, for every reason, you'll get a kiss."
He brightened and began a spiel of the many reasons he had fallen for her. Needless to say, when Hermione came to check on Ginny, she was not happy to find the two wrapped around each other, and Ginny's books in a pile on the floor.
