Chapter 3: A Visitor Enters

1:00 PM, Musutafu Police Department, Holding Cell 7

Carter was exhausted. He had forgotten how straining that form was on his body. In the past, it had been far more efficient to release the full extent of his powers. He thought about how good it felt to be out of that damned stretcher. The police department had given him a change of clothing, since his last set of clothes had been either torn to shreds or burnt nearly to cinders.

A quiet knock came to the door and the viewing shutter slid open, revealing the eyes of a Musutafu Police Officer peering through.

"Transfer, you have a visitor", he said as he slid the door back shut and unlocked the main door. A small… creature, wearing a suit and tie, walked into the cell with a small smile on its face.

"Young Carter Slade!", he began, "How nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you, and I quite enjoyed your performance during the exam. Quite the display of power indeed!"

Carter couldn't help but stare at the creature. He was still trying to figure out what the hell he was looking at.

"I know what you're thinking", he continued, "Am I a dog? A bear? A mouse? Who knows!! All that really matters is that I'm the principal of U.A. High!!! You may call me Principal Nezu, and I came here to personally tell you that you have passed U.A.'s entrance exam with BEYOND flying colors!"

He thought to himself for a moment before speaking.

"How did you find out about me?", he asked.

Principal Nezu chuckled to himself.

"I have an informant who, shall we say, knows more about you than you believe"

Carter traced back through everyone he had ever met, trying to pinpoint someone who could've been Nuzu's informant.

"Oh and he told me about the powers of the Ghost Rider", Nezu added.

This confused Carter as no one, except for a few of the Folsom Prison guards, knew of his powers.

"He actually explained in great detail the responsibility of The Rider, considering he is one as well", Nezu continued.

Carters eyes went wide as he realized who the mouse man was talking about. His great grandfather, whom he was named after, was the only Rider still alive.

Carter Slade, The Ghost Rider of San Venganza, was still alive.

His eyes began to glow with anger. His grandfather was the only man on this planet that he hated more than All Might. He quickly pulled a massive revolver out of the dust in the air and put its barrel point blank between Nezu's eyes. Nezu, now at gunpoint, chuckled again at Carters reaction.

"You have one minute before I pull this trigger. Change my mind", he states angrily.

The guards slid the cell door open and quickly rushed inside, only halting the raid when Principal Nezu raised his paw, ordering them to stand down.

"Your grandfather has been most helpful in the past seven years, helping us learn about more other worldly threats that we could possibly prepare for. He's actually going to be teaching at U.A. this year, and I went ahead and took the liberty of enrolling you in his class", Principal Nezu explained.

Carter pulled back the hammer on the revolver, keeping it directly inbetween the principals eyes.

"Thirty seconds. You had better make your last words worth it", he said.

"He's also asked me to inform you that he wishes to speak with you personally. He says he wishes to, quote, 'bury the hatchet with you'".

The guards in the room were slowly getting nervous for the principals safety, and slowly began training their guns on the boy. They also noticed how Principal Nezu had kept calm the entire encounter, as if he knew Carter wouldn't shoot him. They all had a similar thought running through their minds.

'Who the hell is this kid?'

Carter breaks eye contact with Principal Nezu, as if he were deep in thought weighing the pros and cons of once again meeting with his great grandfather.

"I'll do it…", he says dropping the gun to the floor, everyone present watching it reduce back to dust.

"I'll meet with him. But whatever happens, just let it happen. No interference, understand?", he says, staring the mouse man in the eye once more.

Principal Nezu nods happily in agreement.

"I understand perfectly young man. And you have nothing to fear for I am a mouse of my word."

Carter nods thankfully as the principal stands to leave. Before he exits the cell, he turns back to Carter.

"Oh and by the way, thise two students you rescued are going to make a full recovery, and they both passed as well", he says to Carter.

"I've been wondering about that. How did the exam staff miss those two kids? Shouldn't they have started searching for them before I started my exam?", he asks.

Principal Nezu chuckles at Carters question before answering.

"My quirk allows me to make the most intricate of predictions. Meaning i can predict any domino effect with extreme accuracy.", he starts.

Carter begins to wonder how this pertained to his question.

"I knew those students would be there after the building collapsed. And I knew you would rescue them from the rubble and get them out safely. Rescuing them was part of your exam, and it's the reason you passed.", he explained.

"So there were rescue points along with damage points during the exam?", asked Carter.

Nezu nodded in response.

"What was my final score then?"

Principal Nezu quickly does the math in his head.

"At the end of your exam you had 57 damage points, and on top of that, you dug two people out from under a building and carried them to safety, meaning you had 120 rescue points, meaning 60 points per person. Meaning you had a total of 177 points. You, out of all the entrance examinees, had the highest overall score.", he explained further.

Carter was shocked to hear this, knowing good and well that he shouldn't deserve it. Hell, he didn't even want to take the exam to begin with.

"Is there any chance I can visit those two? They're in the hospital now right?", he asks, wanting to see their current condition personally.

Principal Nezu nods, "Yes they are currently under professional medical care. And I don't see why you couldn't visit them. I'll pull some strings and I can personally pick you up tomorrow so you can see them. How does that sound?"

Carter nods thankfully. He was honestly looking forward to getting out of the cell again. He lays back down on the cot, thinking about how his grandfather was still alive. He could even begin to imagine what he was going to do when he stood in front of him again. All he knew was it wouldn't be pretty
