"So how was Tayuya-nee?" Naruto asked on the way home, Haku still hanging onto his arm like the blonde might disappear if he let go.
"Belligerent." Karin answered simply, wondering what had gotten into the dark haired boy.
Kin sighed, "Typical." she grumbled, crossing her arms.
"Apologies for leaving you and Isaribi-san alone with the nuisance." Kimimaro added, Karin just shrugged to show it hadn't been too awful.
Soon enough the group arrived home to find Tayuya sitting on the roof, the foul mouthed girl glaring at them when she saw them. Kimimaro glared back and the girl flinched before retreating into the window that led to her room.
"Any idea what her problem is?" Naruto asked, hoping the white haired ninja who had been her superior officer had some idea of how to help deal with her besides threats of violence.
"I never bothered to learn, sorry." Kimimaro answered apologetically and the blonde jonin sighed sadly.
Kin entered the house first, holding the door open for the others, "Isaribi-san, we're home." she called out and the scaled girl met them at the door.
"Welcome home!" Isaribi called out in greeting as she rushed to see them.
"Sorry to leave you with Tayuya-nee for so long." Naruto apologized, feeling bad about leaving the purple haired girl in particular.
"It's okay," Isaribi said, "you can't be expected to watch her constantly, and I can handle her." she said the last part with a certain steel to her words that made Kin wonder if something had happened. Kimimaro was glad to hear that someone had been keeping the girl in line but Naruto still looked like he felt guilty.
Karin knew something was up when Haku had joined Naruto in the bath, she knew they were close but aside from the hot springs the two never actually bathed together. Communal baths were a thing of course but no one in the Uzumaki household had done such with each other.
"Kimimaro-san," Karin asked and the boy looked up from the book he was reading, Gutsy Shinobi, "did something happen between Naruto-nii and Haku-san?" she asked.
Kimimaro shrugged, "Naruto-sama was thought to be dead for a moment and Haku-senpai was deeply affected." he explained before returning his eyes to the book.
Karin considered that with a concerned expression, she knew the two could be clingy with each other and Naruto himself was usually deeply protective of those around him, and she remembered when she first met Haku the boy had fussed over the injured blonde.
"Haku was pretty scary until Naruto came back." Kin spoke up without looking up from sharpening her senbon, "As soon as Naruto was okay Haku broke down, he was already crying but it was like an overflowing dam until Naruto came back and then the dam just sort of broke." she explained, feeling a little guilty for talking about how much someone cried, "That being said I never thought I'd find the expression of someone openly crying to be so damn chilling." she added.
Isaribi frowned while sharpening a kitchen knife next to Kin, "I'm just glad you all came back okay," the bandaged girl said, "this ninja work seems so dangerous." she added sadly.
Naruto himself was embarrassed to be sharing a bath with Haku, but the older boy had pretty much refused to let him out of his sight except to use the toilet, and Naruto got the impression the dark haired teen was on guard whenever that occurred which was a different kind of embarrassing.
Haku had justified the shared bath by pointing out communal baths were a thing, but his insistence on washing each others backs was another source of embarrassment for the blonde. Although Naruto would be lying if he said he didn't like it.
Naruto hadn't been surprised to find the older boy had a toned back, and he knew the boy was slim but he was still surprised by just how much Haku looked like a girl from behind even without clothes. The blonde knew his own hands were calloused but he'd still been slightly surprised that Haku had callouses on his fingertips, he knew it only made sense since the older boy practiced kuchiyose too and used senbons but with the nail polish the hands looked so dainty it still caught the blonde by surprise.
Nothing lewd happened during the bath but Naruto still came out with a blush and Haku clinging to his arm as the two went to bed. The blonde wasn't complaining but Haku was much more clingy since the mission to Hoshigakure, the older boy cuddled up even more than usual so Naruto spent a good while struggling to sleep with Haku's breath on his neck.
Sasuke was away on a mission when Naruto returned to training with Haku. Sakura noticed how the older teen seemed more distracted by Naruto than usual, since Haku usually managed to focus on his training and only focused on Naruto while resting.
Sakura wondered if something happened, but she wasn't sure how to approach the topic. She wanted to ask Naruto but Haku would absolutely notice, Karin and Kin weren't there that day, and Kimimaro was busy keeping on eye on Tayuya.
Naruto didn't have much trouble forming the water with his chakra, his issue mostly came with holding onto the water once he formed it. His chakra control was still his weakest point despite how much he'd become a ninjutsu specialist, and as a result the Suiton chakra he made just ended up splashing himself most of the time. Before they'd left for Kuma no Kuni Haku's main issue had been putting enough power into his Futon chakra to cut the waterfall, but now his issue seemed entirely a lack of focus.
Sakura still had the issue of gathering enough chakra at once to turn the dirt into a stone, so when Karin and Kin weren't around she tended to feel like she was falling behind. The fact she was pulling ahead of the others in her age group and going on missions with them did help remind her she actually had become a decent ninja since she started training seriously and that she really shouldn't hold Naruto and Sasuke up as examples of how fast she should advance. Even with her own father still being a genin the girl had to remind herself that her jonin teammates were simply a different league, no one else in her age group had even made chunin yet.
Kakashi was enjoying having the two loyal Sannin as his advisors, less so what they needed to advise him on. Jiraiya didn't look too happy about what Tsunade was saying in this case either so at least the Hokage wasn't alone.
"What do you mean they're even clingier with each other?" Jiraiya asked with a baffled expression, "They can kuchiyose each other on a whim, Naruto can use Hiraishin to be with Haku in an instant, they should be calming down!" he exclaimed.
Tsunade shrugged, "Maybe we enabled them too much?" she suggested, "It's probably because of how their missions tend to go, Haku-san thought Naruto-kun died on their last mission and it shook him up from what I've heard." she explained.
"Is Naruto-kun ready for senjutsu?" Kakashi asked, concerned that if they left it too long it would be impossible to separate them.
Jiraiya sighed, "I don't know, maybe." he answered uncertainly, "I want to tell him about the purpose of the Rasengan first. The kid is good, and the number of actual Sennin in the world are rare, I can barely do it and until we analyzed that Juin I thought Orochimaru still hadn't figured it out." he explained.
Tsunade frowned, "Minato-kun never completed the Rasengan, and neither could you or Kakashi, wouldn't it be better to have him learn Senjutsu first?" she asked.
Jiraiya shook his head, "Tsunade-chan listen, no offense but you aren't a Sennin." he pointed out, prompting the woman to glare at him, "Senjutsu doesn't just require chakra control, it's dangerous. The larger the chakra reserves, the worse the chakra control, the more dangerous it is." he explained.
Kakashi nodded solemnly, "Get him started trying to complete the Rasengan then, Naruto-kun has a knack for ninjutsu so maybe he can figure it out." he agreed, "In the meantime, Tsunade-sama, do you have any suggestions for the two?" he asked.
Tsunade scoffed, "I wish, the only thing to do is give them some downtime to work through it, honestly the fact that Haku-san is a teenage boy and is completely holding himself in check for Naruto-kun's sake can't be healthy for him, but there isn't a single thing I even want to recommend for that." she said bluntly.
As much of a pervert as Jiraiya was he had to agree with that sentiment.
"Alright brat," Jiraiya said to his blonde apprentice, "it's time for you to learn the true purpose of the Rasengan." he said in his best lecturing tone. Naruto and Haku both looked confused, "The fact is, the jutsu is incomplete." the Sennin began, "Minato was unable to complete it before he died, and I haven't yet managed it either." he explained.
Naruto blinked owlishly and Haku seemed shocked, "What do you mean incomplete? I've been kicking ass with it!" the blonde jonin declared, masking his confusion with annoyance.
"It's pure Keitai Henka." Jiraiya began, "Now imagine if you added Seishitsu Henka to it too." he pointed out and the blue eye of his student widened in realization, "The next step is for you to apply that Futon chakra you were working on to it. Once you've got your affinity added you might even eventually be able to add whatever you want to it." he explained.
Haku was surprised the jutsu could be advanced even further beyond what he'd already seen. Naruto just looked ecstatic, "Alright! Let's train Haku-chan!" he exclaimed happily.
"One moment, I need to have a chat with your girlfriend." Jiraiya said and the two frowned, neither bothering to remind the man Haku was a boy but both wondering why Jiraiya would want to talk to him alone. Naruto gave the old man a suspicious look but went to begin working on completing the Rasengan.
"What do we need to chat about?" Haku asked in confusion when the Sennin didn't say anything after the blonde was gone, impatient to follow after the young jonin.
"I know you two are close, and I'm happy for both of you." Jiraiya began, which just worried Haku more, "However, you're both growing boys, and while you may be considered adults by virtue of being shinobi, your bodies and minds are still maturing." he continued and the dark haired boy became even more concerned, "No doubt Naruto has already noticed, and you should have been given this talk by Za-I mean whoever raised you in the wilderness."
Haku's eyes widened in panic as he looked for an escape, he did not want to have this discussion with the old man at all, "Yes, I know all about it, please stop talking!" he begged frantically, amusing the Sennin slightly.
"Now I understand talking about it can be embarrassing, but I'm not trying to embarrass you for once." Jiraiya assured, "You need to understand that being around the object of your affection all the time, while I can't blame you for enjoying it, you can't keep letting yourself get pent up." he explained, frowning that the boy didn't seem to be taking his words seriously, "I'm not kidding by the way, even Tsunade-chan says it's not good for you, and it probably won't be good for Naruto either." he added, deciding to bring the health of the young blonde into it to force the dark haired boy to take it seriously.
Jiraiya was glad Haku actually did seem to consider his words, "I understand." the embarrassed dark haired boy said quietly, sounding a bit ashamed. The Sennin nodded and let the boy join Naruto, thinking he'd done the right thing.
Naruto wondered why Haku had been embarrassed by whatever Jiraiya had wanted to talk about, and shot the man glares throughout the training, but focused on trying to mix Futon chakra with his Rasengan. The blonde decided this was like trying to look left and right at the same time and couldn't blame his father or Jiraiya for not getting it yet.
Haku had returned to working on cutting the waterfall in half, figuring it would be easier if they both worked on the same element for the Rasengan.
Eventually it got late, and Naruto was surprised that Haku didn't want to visit the hot springs like he usually did after training, especially since the boy had been by the waterfall all day. Naruto was disappointed because his hand was sore, the Futon chakra he'd managed to pour into the Rasengan with kage bunshin had actually hurt his hand a bit when he lost control of it.
To Naruto's surprise Haku wanted to take him to the training ground he'd been taught the Hijutsu that as far as he was aware only the two of them knew. He wondered why Haku wanted to come to a training ground after training, especially one this far out of the way.
"Naruto-kun, you hurt your hand with training, right?" Haku asked, surprising Naruto with the shyness the boy was showing and that he'd noticed since there wasn't any obvious external damage and the blonde thought he hid the pain pretty well. When Naruto nodded the older boy had the younger dip his hand in the pond and used his Hyoton chakra to cool the water.
The cold water was soothing, but the blonde still would have preferred the hot springs if he was honest. Still, Naruto enjoyed the way the older boy tended to his hand, and when he shivered Haku pressed against his back, "So, why are we out here?" the young jonin asked, knowing it couldn't just be for the water.
Haku blushed and took a moment to answer, "Naruto-kun, do you remember when you first kissed me?" he asked and the blonde blushed himself at the memory but nodded, they'd made out more than a few times since then. Basically whenever Naruto had wanted actually, Haku always reciprocated.
"How could I forget? You used my own jutsu against me." Naruto reminded the older boy who looked guilty at that, "Not that I minded!" the blonde swiftly amended when he noticed the downcast look.
"Have you ever-?" Haku began but stopped, confusing Naruto as the dark haired boy struggled to think of how to work his question, "Naruto-kun are you pent up?" he finally decided on.
Naruto did not understand those words at all, "What? Why would I be angry?" he asked, reminding the older boy of exactly how inexperienced the blonde was, not that he was experienced in these matters himself but he reminded himself that Zabuza had been a bit better at teaching him such things than whoever raised Naruto.
"Not that kind of pent up." Haku said with an exasperated sigh, "I mean, when we kiss, or cuddle, or sleep together, or bathe together, or share the hot springs, do you feel something somewhere besides your heart?" he asked, too embarrassed to be more specific than that.
Naruto seemed confused so Haku steeled his nerves since he was already hugging the younger boy from behind and pointed down. Naruto's eyes widened and a bright blush appeared on his face, "Oh, that." he said, "I uh, I know you were fine with doing pervert things in bed with me but you seemed fine with kissing so I didn't want to gross you out or something." the blonde explained.
"Naruto-kun why would that gross me out?" Haku asked, his turn to be confused, "I used Oiroke no Jutsu." he pointed out, "You invented Oiroke no Jutsu!" he added to further explain his own confusion, "Naruto-kun I don't want to do anything you aren't ready for," he began, "but apparently it isn't healthy to suppress those urges." he explained.
Naruto frowned, "Wait, is that what Ero-Sennin wanted to talk about?" he asked, suddenly suspicious.
"Well, yes." Haku confessed, "I thought he was just being an old pervert too, but apparently Tsunade-sama herself said it's unhealthy to have no outlet." he informed the blonde who was surprised, "I don't want you to be in any pain, so if there's a build up of something I can help with..." he tried to explain but trailed off in embarrassment.
"Haku-chan, are you pent up?" Naruto asked suddenly and the older boy blushed bright red but didn't deny it, "Is that why you're worried about me?" he guessed, "How do you release the build up?" he asked.
Haku was wide eyed at the last question, it hadn't occurred to him to boy wouldn't know that since as far as he was concerned the younger boy was an amazing kisser, "Naruto-kun, please don't take this the wrong way, but how do you not know?" he asked and he could tell from the look on the face of the blonde that he took it the wrong way, "You kiss like you're the older one, you've grabbed my ass before and you've even touched my chest while we made out!" he pointed out to explain his confusion.
Naruto looked lost, "I don't know, it just seemed right?" the blonde answered in a tone that implied a question and Haku was shocked to learn that the boy had done all those things on instinct, "Should I not grab your butt or chest?" the young jonin asked.
Haku's jaw was slack and the boy mimicked a fish for a moment before he took a deep breath, "Naruto-kun, I actually love you doing that when we kiss." he confessed, "I just didn't realize you didn't know what you were doing, I assumed-" he stopped, remembering their age difference, "I should not have assumed." he finished.
"Well what am I missing?" Naruto asked curiously and the dark haired boy suddenly realized what he'd been about to teach the boy.
"Please don't worry about such things for now." Haku tried to assure but the young blonde wasn't having it and twisted in the grip of the older boy.
Naruto reminded Haku that despite being slightly shorter and younger it was the blonde jonin of them that was more physically strong, "No way! If you're getting unhealthy because you're pent up I'm doing something about it!" the young ninja declared as he pinned his vassal.
Haku wasn't sure what was worse, that this situation was technically his fault or the fact he was really enjoying the forcefulness of the blonde, "Ah, Naruto-kun, it's fine you don't need to do anything!" the blushing feminine boy tried to assure.
Naruto wasn't convinced and silenced the older boy with a kiss, Haku wanted to resist for the sake of the younger boy but guiltily returned the kiss as he closed his eyes. Then the dark haired boys eyes widened as he felt Naruto's hands reaching into his haori.
Haku knew damn well he should push the younger boy off him but by the time he got his hands on the other boys shoulders Naruto's mouth was on his neck. The dark haired boy bit his lip to stifle a moan as Naruto's hands slid into his kimono, one resting on his chest and the other slipped lower.
Naruto bit down on the flesh underneath Haku's choker and the older boy gasped, swiftly grabbing the wrists of the blonde to stop him going any further, "Naruto-kun!" he exclaimed breathlessly, "It's fine, I'm fine, I know how to solve the pent up issue, you don't need to do anything." he panted out quickly.
Naruto looked like he didn't believe the older boy and made a hand seal, in a puff of smoke Haku realized the younger boy had used Oiroke and he was stunned when the suddenly buxom blonde silenced him with a kiss again. This time instead of melting into the kiss he grabbed Naruto by the shoulders to push him out of the jutsu.
"Naruto-kun that is not the issue!" Haku exclaimed, embarrassed the boy even thought of that, "I prefer you as a guy!" he assured the younger boy.
Naruto frowned, "Well then what do you want me to do for you?" he asked, pouting slightly.
Haku realized the boy really just wanted to help, "Naruto-kun just wait, the whole being pent up thing is an issue I can solve alone until you're old enough." he tried to explain, choosing his words very poorly.
"I'm a jonin!" Naruto exclaimed, offended at the idea he might be too young for something, "I can drink if I want, I can kill, hell I have killed multiple times now!" he ranted, "I may not get how two guys are supposed to do this but you are going to teach me!" he ordered.
Haku blinked owlishly at that order, and at the reminder that Naruto by the age of thirteen had been promoted to a military position that gave him authority and responsibility over others and on top of this the boy had killed to survive long enough to do so.
"Okay," Haku agreed quietly, "but not out here, and not tonight." he bargained, "This is something we should do in our bed." he added when the blonde looked like he would argue further.
Tsunade was surprised to see Haku without Naruto, she remembered that Jiraiya had smugly mentioned he'd solved the issue but she hadn't truly believed him. Seeing the dark haired teen visiting her without the blonde had her thinking that maybe the pervert could be reliable sometimes.
"Naruto-kun wants me to show him how to have sex." Haku told her and Tsunade immediately changed her mind as she decided she'd kill Jiraiya the next time she saw him, "I know you implied we shouldn't until we're older but Naruto-kun is convinced that as a jonin he's old enough." the boy explained.
Tsunade pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath, "What the hell did Jiraiya say to you two?" she asked, clearly exasperated already.
Haku blushed, "Actually he only spoke to me, he said it was unhealthy for Naruto-kun and I to be pent up." he explained and Tsunade quickly realized the old pervert had tried to get Haku to leave the younger boy alone so the two could masturbate about each other, "So I asked Naruto-kun if he was pent up and if there was anything I could do to help him but then he realized I was pent up and-" the boy was ranting.
"You can't say no to that brat at all, can you?" Tsunade asked to interrupt, wondering how Haku had missed the point Jiraiya was going for that hard. The boy shook his head to confirm that he either could not or would not tell the blonde no, "Do you even know what to do? Oh, is that why you're here?" the iryo specialist asked, wondering why she was the one who got stuck with explaining such matters.
"I'm not as naive as Naruto-kun." Haku answered simply, "But no, my mentor never went into details, I assumed Naruto-kun had some kind of instruction or education on the matter until last night when he revealed he was just going on instinct." the boy explained, clearly embarrassed.
"He gave you a hickey on instinct?" Tsunade asked in surprise and the blushing boy nodded, "Wow, well I don't know what to tell you, but I understand why you two would be confused." she said, trying to think about how she was supposed to help.
"So," Haku began nervously, "what should I do?" he asked bashfully as he fidgeted with his long black hair, avoiding eye contact as he did.
Tsunade sighed, "Trust Naruto-kun's instincts I guess." she said, "Use lots of lubricant." she added as a suggestion. The embarrassed boy nodded and left to go do as advised.
Jiraiya yelped in pain as Tsunade dragged him to the Hokage office by the ear, wondering what he'd done to annoy the woman, he hadn't even started peeping yet. Kakashi raised an eyebrow at the antics of the two Sannin, also wondering why the iryo specialist was so angry.
"Jiraiya," Tsunade began without letting go of his ear, "why don't you tell us what you told Haku-san?" she asked, twisting his ear to emphasize that it was not a request.
"I didn't even go into details!" Jiraiya defended himself, "I just told him that it's not healthy to get aroused and have no outlet!" he explained, remembering that the woman had actually agreed with that.
"Would you like to know how Haku-san interpreted that advice?" Tsunade asked with venom in her tone, "He completed disregarded concerns about his own health and asked Naruto-kun if he needed 'help'!" she exclaimed, Jiraiya's eyes widened and Kakashi resisted the urge to laugh, "He would have preferred to masturbate his boyfriend than be separated from him you idiot!" she added.
"How was I supposed to know?" Jiraiya asked and Tsunade twisted his ear more, "Ow! I seriously thought it'd get them to leave each other alone a little bit!" he defended his actions.
Kakashi frowned under his mask with concern, "Tsunade-sama, the fact you know implies something happened?" he probed, worried about the young blonde jonin.
"Apparently Naruto-kun has no actual education on the matter and has been giving Haku-san love bites on instinct. Haku-san realized this too late and implied some things that made Naruto-kun think he needs to 'help' Haku-san." Tsunade explained, "The only reason I haven't brought in Haku-san by the ear as well is because the poor boy had no idea what he was doing and asked for my advice, since Naruto-kun refused to accept that he's too young for anything now that he's a jonin and has practically ordered Haku-san to teach him about sex!" the woman finished by twisting the ear of the pervert she blamed the mess on.
"What did you tell him?" Kakashi asked curiously as Jiraiya made quiet sounds of being in pain.
"Use lots of lubrication." Tsunade responded bluntly, "There's not much I can do besides threaten the blonde brat with physical violence which would just going to be worse for them." she pointed out.
Jiraiya and Kakashi exchanged a worried look.
Karin was surprised Haku had left without Naruto, but assumed the two boys had dealt with being shaken up by their last mission. Naruto was unsurprisingly training even at home and Karin resisted the urge to be annoyed as his attempts at a Futon: Rasengan exploded in his hand, flipping book pages and study notes.
Kin openly glared at him and even Kimimaro seemed exasperated as he returned to the page he was on, "Naruto-kun, shouldn't you be practicing at a training ground?" Isaribi asked, watching the blonde boy nurse his hand with concern.
"Yeah, but Haku-chan asked me to wait at home." Naruto said, then seemed to realize something, "Oh right!" he suddenly exclaimed, rushing to his room.
"What got into him?" Kin wondered out loud but no one had an answer.
Karin closed her eyes, "Huh, he's putting up some kind of fuinjutsu I think." she said as she sensed what the boy was doing with his chakra.
"At least he's not creating gale force winds inside the house." Kimimaro said without looking up from his book.
"Was that what it looked like?" Kin asked after Haku returned home from shopping and retreated to his and Naruto's room with something in his hands and an embarrassed blush on his face.
"I saw nothing." Karin decided, determined to forget it.
"I wasn't paying attention." Kimimaro lied blatantly.
Tayuya came out into the living room looking confused, "Why did the girly boy have-?" she began and Kimimaro leveled a glare that silenced her immediately.
Isaribi was blushing, "I'm going to cook lunch." she decided, wanting to take her mind of what they all knew was going to be happening.
"Naruto-kun what is this?" Haku asked, his embarrassment forgotten as he looked at the ink on the door, corners of the room, and windowsill of the bedroom he shared with the blonde.
"Silencing fuin!" Naruto declared proudly and shamelessly from his position on the bed, "What's that?" he asked, pointing at the bottle in the other boys hands.
"Lubrication." Haku answered, embarrassed but glad the younger boy had thought to sound proof the room.
"What's that for?" Naruto asked, reminding once again that he really had no idea what he was doing.
"You'll see." Haku promised as he nervously joined the boy on the bed. To the surprise of Naruto the older boy initiated the kiss for once, "It is my understanding that your instincts are good at this matter, but I'll guide you if you get confused." Haku murmured in Naruto's ear.
When Naruto and Haku joined everyone else for lunch the blonde looked quite pleased with himself and everyone tried to ignore how dazed the dark haired boy looked, or the fact that their clothes were clearly hastily put on, and the love bites all over Haku's neck.
Tayuya offered no such politeness, "Damn it, I was hoping to use virgin as an insult for a few more years." she grumbled, causing the other girls and Haku to blush, Naruto to look confused, and Kimimaro to just glare at the crass red head.
"Please shut the fuck up." Karin begged her fellow red haired Uzumaki, wanting to enjoy the soup Isaribi made in peace. Kin worried that Tayuya was being a bad influence on their language.
No one commented on the fact Naruto and Haku returned to their room until dinner after lunch.
Over the next few days the training continued, Sakura was glad to see Haku was less distracted and assumed that whatever had shaken him up on their last mission had been dealt with. She did wonder why Jiraiya looked so guilty and one of his ears were red.
Sasuke returned blissfully unaware and wondered what Naruto was trying to do with the Rasengan and why it kept exploding and releasing powerful winds across the training field. The Uchiha sighed, deciding he'd train his Raiton chakra at his clan training grounds since the blasts of Futon chakra were messing with his attempts to harness Raiton chakra.
First though was a matter he wanted to deal with, "Naruto, spar with me." Sasuke demanded and the blonde blinked owlishly, looking up from nursing his sore hand.
"Oh, uh, I want to but I should really work on completing the Rasengan." Naruto said, "I'm trying to add my affinity to the Keitai Henka." he explained. Sasuke didn't look happy about that but could understand being focused on finishing a ninjutsu even if he thought it was already complete, the fact the Rasengan he'd seen up until this point had been an unfinished product bothered him despite his understanding.
"I thought the Yondaime created the Rasengan?" Sakura spoke up, having wondered what the blonde had been doing herself.
"The Yondaime created the Rasengan with the intent of finishing it by adding his affinity. Performing a Seishitsu Henka infused Rasengan would technically be like creating a brand new jutsu, and honestly even I haven't managed, burnt my hand last time I tried too." Jiraiya answered for the Uzumaki jonin.
They were interrupted by Kimimaro dragging Tayuya to the training fields, "Tayuya, why don't you tell Naruto-sama what I caught you doing?" the Kaguya asked, "Now." he added as a demand when the girl simply glared.
"Fine," Tayuya spat, "I was trying to get this fucking chakra suppressing fuin off my back!" she confessed, not looking the least bit apologetic. Jiraiya supposed prisoners of war couldn't be blamed for trying to escape but still gave the girl an annoyed look.
"How were you doing this?" Kimimaro pressed, staring the red haired girl down with an intensely annoyed look.
"With a kitchen knife I stole while that bandaged bitch wasn't looking." Tayuya answered as she crossed her arms, surprising Sakura and Haku.
"What!?" Naruto asked, "The hell is wrong with you!?" he yelled in askance.
"I'm sick of being so damn powerless!" Tayuya yelled back, "I hate it! I'm weaker than a genin because of it!" she shouted, "I'd rather die than be powerless another day!" she declared angrily.
Haku sighed and Kimimaro looked like he'd be happy to put the girl out of her misery if given the order but Naruto looked bothered by that. The blonde took a moment to think before putting a hand on the girls shoulder, "Fuin: Kai." he said as he made the seal of confrontation.
Jiraiya tensed up, wondering what the hell Naruto was doing. Kimimaro stared at the blonde in open shock along with Sasuke and Sakura. Haku prepared a handful of senbon, having expected the younger boy to do that.
"What?" Tayuya asked, confused, wondering if the boy had just placed her under a genjutsu, "What the fuck was that?" she asked.
"I removed the fuin suppressing your chakra." Naruto answered with a shrug, "I didn't realize it was tormenting you so much, will you behave yourself and stop being so mean to Isaribi-neechan now?" he asked, crossing his arms and giving the girl a stern look.
Tayuya was shocked and looked around at the people watching her, realizing that she really didn't have a chance of escaping with or without the fuin, "Are you fucking serious?" she asked, already planning on how to make her escape now that she had her chakra back.
Naruto nodded, "Yeah, I had my chakra suppressed once, it sucked but the fuin I made wasn't absorbing yours or hurting you so I assumed you'd be fine." he explained, "Sorry, I didn't realize your mental state relied on your chakra so much." he added, looking genuinely apologetic.
Tayuya blinked owlishly as the implication of his words sunk in, he'd been in an even worse situation once and from what she knew of chakra he was being tortured to death, but the boy hadn't thought it as big of a deal to be without chakra and had done everything to make her comfortable despite being a prisoner. The girl still wanted to escape, but knew that now Kimimaro would be keeping an even closer eye on her. Her only chance would be to bide her time.
Jiraiya was concerned about letting the girl have her chakra when she was still loyal to Orochimaru, but he was silently proud of his student for being so kind. Kimimaro escorted Tayuya back to the Uzumaki home, clearly not trusting the girl.
"I think I'm starting to see why you betrayed our old master for that brat." Tayuya said quietly on the way home. Kimimaro didn't respond, but did consider her choice of words to be an improvement. He still didn't relax and kept a close eye on her.
Tsunade still hadn't made much progress on Isaribi's condition, she was a busy woman after all. She'd been surprised to discover the girl was actually a woman herself despite the youthful appearance, Isaribi was apparently even a year older than Anko Mitarashi, making her the oldest person living at Naruto's house. Such information made it fitting that the constantly bandaged woman had become something of a mother to the household, taking over cooking and most household chores.
Oddly enough Isaribi had been surprised to remember her own age, having actually asked Tsunade what year it was when the woman had been questioned about her age. The iryo specialist felt bad for the purple haired altered human, and considered that her slowed aging was a bit of silver lining regarding the experimentation done on her.
Isaribi had been saddened to learn that the best that could be done for her was cosmetic surgery to hide the scales until she transformed into the Kaima form forced upon her, but had requested the surgery eagerly. Tsunade agreed to perform the surgery, telling Isaribi to return in a few days time.
Kin and Karin wondered why Isaribi looked so happy on the way home from the hospital, the two younger girls having been practicing under iryonin while the purple haired girl met with Tsunade. It was good that the older girl was in such good spirits at least.
Tayuya had no care for such a smile, "What's got you on cloud nine?" she asked when the three returned, still in a bad mood about being a prisoner despite having her chakra back.
"Tsunade-sama is finally going to be able to make me look like a normal person again, I won't have to wear these bandages anymore." Isaribi answered cheerfully, not letting the dour mood of the brown eyed red head get her down.
"Who the fuck cares about looking normal?" Tayuya asked, "You've got scales that can block a kunai and you want to be a wimp instead?" she added, earning a glare from Karin and Kin.
Isaribi frowned, "I don't want to even look like a monster, maybe you enjoy working for one and being one but I would much rather be a human." she answered in a snappy tone, going to the kitchen to begin preparing dinner for them all and avoid talking with Tayuya any further.
Kakashi wanted to send Naruto and his team on another C rank mission, but the fact the blonde had basically freed Tayuya worried the Hokage. Karin and Isaribi could be endangered if the foul mouthed girl took an opportunity, but Kin and Kimimaro needed more C ranks if Naruto wanted to take them on a mission.
Another issue was that there was a C rank out of village and the only genin available were Hinata and Choji. Kakashi wanted to put Sakura with them but the girl had gone on a B rank with Sasuke and two other chunin to investigate reports of movements along the border with Oto no Kuni.
Putting Naruto and his team on a C rank mission with two other genin would be absolute overkill, the boy was a jonin by now and needed to work on completing the Rasengan. Still, sending two clan heirs alone out of the village even on a mission like this didn't sit right with the man. He could send Naruto alone with Hinata and Choji, but expected the boy would take Haku with him regardless.
A jonin with three genin was a fairly standard squad, and with Naruto's luck the boy wouldn't even be wasted by being sent on the mission. He just hoped Tayuya stopped being an issue soon, and silently cursed Ibiki for putting the prisoner in the care of the blonde Uzumaki despite knowing that simply executing her would have done more harm than good.
Managing a village of child soldiers, assassins, and spies really was hard work, Kakashi wished Hiruzen were still around or someone else had become Godaime.
