Gohan had awoken from his slumber in the late morning and panicked as he realized he hadn't really told anyone where he'd gone. After managing to stumble out of his house he was surprised to see soldiers standing on the grass surrounding the home, it seemed as though they had formed a perimeter to keep what looked like a horde of people away from the house with hastily erected barricades and fences. "What's going on?" Gohan questioned out loud while he looked at the mass of people.

"There he is!" Someone shouted loudly and the crowd started to yell and scream angrily at Gohan once he was noticed.

"Mr. Gohan sir," a soldier saluted to him and they were probably a high ranking one, with all of the badges decorating their chest, who quickly approached from a tent that had been set up a respectable distance from his old home. "We have orders to get you out of the area now that you have woken up." The soldier nodded as two men came around and started to push on Gohan towards a waiting helicopter.

Gohan resisted and that was enough to send the two men sprawling on the grass. "Hang on, who are all these people? When did you guys get here? What happened?" He asked as he wanted to get some answers before he just left to go with strange people he'd never met.

"Sir those questions will be answered at the designated area, but we need you to leave for security reasons," the soldier snapped his fingers trying to get the others to move Gohan.

"I'm going to find Bulma," Gohan stepped away from the armed men as he knew she could give him some answers.

"Mrs. Briefs is at the designated area," the soldier said. "You will be brought there and more will be explained," reiterating that Gohan needed to board the vehicle.

"I'll just fly there myself. If she's anywhere around armed guards, Vegeta's with her." Floating off the ground as he didn't want to be in confined spaces with these new people. However once he did that the crowd began to panic and scream.

"He's going to kill us all!"

"He's a monster."

"Where are the heroes to put him down?"

"Son Gohan, it is important that you do not display any of your powers, please, this plan was put together by Mrs. Briefs and your mother, you need to do things our way," the soldier pleaded because he didn't need Gohan starting a riot, or any more than they already had.

Gohan put his feet back on the ground and looked worried at the large crowd of people watching him. "Okay," he quietly said as he let the soldiers lead him to the helicopter. He was packed in with five other armed guys who all looked like battle hardened veterans. "So um," Gohan rubbed his hands together. "Do uh," he tried to start a conversation but when you just wake up and are being loaded into a helicopter to go to some unknown location surrounded by guys with big guns, it tends to be a little awkward. "How bad is it out there?" he finally asked as he started to draw some conclusions of his own and so far things weren't looking too good for him.

The armed men shared a look between themselves as they had been told to act naturally around the young man that they had been informed was capable of blowing up the planet with his finger, was impervious to all known methods of harm and could possibly be emotionally unstable. So that was a clearly impossible task.

"Gah," Gohan groaned because the soldiers were too unsure how to talk to him. "And I don't have my phone either," he commented, otherwise he'd have just called someone like Krillin or Tsuyu to tell him how things were out in the real world and he remembered that he'd left it in the monitoring room when he broke out to go to Kamino.

Without that he only had telepathy to try and communicate with people outside the helicopter, but to do that he'd have to start talking and if he was reading the room, these soldiers were tense and him doing something strange like talking to people possibly hundreds of miles away would not help the situation.

Speaking of what was going on hundreds of miles away, in a large government building workers were scrambling around even as the most tense discussion in recent history was happening in a secure room underneath the floor.

"Please understand the public's fear, he blew up the moon and that was seen on live television. The last time something like that happened Cell was threatening the world," King Furry explained enigmatically to the assembled meeting. "They are rightfully terrified that Son Gohan is just as big of a threat to everyone as that monster was."

"My son is not a danger to anyone who doesn't deserve it and he doesn't need to be locked away like some criminal," Chi-Chi shouted back at the king.

"Mrs. Son, the more the public looks into the situation, the worse it gets for him as they have been finding things." King Furry countered the mother's statement with what he had been told by his analysts. "There's already groups online connecting Piccolo and Vegeta to their past actions, it's only a matter of time before that all gets into the public's eye."

"But wouldn't that help the brat?" Vegeta questioned. "They would learn he was the one who squashed the bug all those years ago and not the fool Mr. Satan."

King Furry shook his head in disagreement. "I don't think so. I would expect them to riot even more, finding out that the Number One Hero was actually just a child. How much effort was put into the cover up, how we effectively duped the planet for years, just because we needed someone, anyone to take credit."

"So fuck em," Vegeta shrugged as he couldn't care less if those peons outside couldn't handle the truth.

Piccolo sighed heavily. "As much as I hate to say it, Vegeta might be right. It wasn't like we've ever hid ki or any of the stuff we did, it just wasn't ever broadcast to anyone before. And if the people of Earth can't handle it, then that really is their problem because pretty much the rest of the universe operates this way."

"Whatever we decide to do, Gohan has to approve," Chi-Chi interjected so that the conversation did not get derailed and make it clear to everyone that this was Gohan's decision. "If he doesn't want to go along with any of this and just says he wants to go back to the Paozu Mountains, then that's what we're doing. He's been through too much to have other people controlling him."

"But that doesn't solve the problem, it just avoids it," King Furry protested that outcome because it was not a solution he could sell to the people of the world.

"It's not like he'd give up protecting the planet, he just wouldn't come out unless he was needed." Chi-Chi offered what she felt would be enough to placate the king.

"If I did that though, what about all my friends?" Gohan asked, his voice breaking the tension when he stepped into the room, having been led through the building quickly by some government aide. He had been able to hear much of the conversation before he even came into the room.

"I'm sure you could still see them on the weekends." For Chi-Chi she had always been hesitant about the idea of her son going out into the wider world and now it looked as though he was getting far more attention than she ever wanted for him.

"But what about school?" Gohan asked. "I like going to U.A. and being around other people who get me."

"We do get you though Gohan." Chi-Chi tried to get Gohan to understand her position.

"You do, but it isn't the same," Gohan shook his head then looked towards King Furry. "What do I have to do so I can go back to school and not have to worry about an angry mob forming and doing something stupid that gets innocent people hurt?"

King Furry sighed heavily, withdrawing a cloth to clean his glasses. "The public thinks you are too strong," he said calmly even if he agreed with the sentiment, simply because to him anyone capable of destroying planets with their bare hands was too powerful. "And while you are attending a hero school, you are not a hero in the eyes of the masses, so they are wary of whether you are truly committed to being one of the good guys."

"So I just need a hero license then?" Gohan assumed that was where the king was going.

The blue dog shook his head. "No and if we gave you one now it wouldn't mean anything because it doesn't address the public's fear about you going on another rampage. They need assurance that someone can stop you."

Vegeta snorted at that comment. "Please if the Namekian and I couldn't stop him, then there doesn't exist anyone that isn't a god that could. You got lucky with Kakarot intervening." As between Piccolo, Gohan and Himself they were the three strongest people alive on the planet, if not the entire universe right now, not counting the God of Destruction.

"Then I just have to take a dive," Gohan said because that was the only way he could think of to lose a fight and assure the public there was someone capable of defeating him if he ever lost control like that again, which would be a lie.

"WHAT?!" Vegeta shouted in anger at hearing a saiyan even talk about throwing a fight, it was practically sacrilege.

"Come on Vegeta," Gohan groaned at the outburst and he understood the reason why the other saiyan was angry. "I don't like the idea either, but unless someone who can beat me shows up, that the public trusts," he added because he could tell Vegeta was ready to say he'd gladly do it. "Then the only other option would be to basically tell everyone to deal with it and hope they don't do something stupid."

Vegeta growled for a good while before he folded his arms. "And your species default is to do something stupid," he muttered bitterly since he couldn't argue against the brat's reasoning.

"But who could the public possibly accept as capable of defeating my son?" Chi-Chi asked as there didn't seem to be anyone she could think of that could put up a believable fight who wasn't already in the room.

"I cannot believe we are doing this." Vegeta spat in disgust while he and the others were in a public place waiting for the "fight" to happen between Gohan and the chosen "champion of earth".

"And we are sure that Shenron couldn't just make everyone forget about this?" Chi-Chi asked the current guardian of Earth because she did not like the idea of her son "losing" to the same man that took credit for him stopping Cell.

Dende sighed heavily in response, he had looked into any way to fix the issue without Gohan having to publicly humiliate himself, but he couldn't come up with something that didn't leave huge problems. "I have checked we will only be getting two wishes this time. One is needed to replace the moon because unlike the last two times where it was merely broken and Kami could put it back together, Gohan vaporized it and we need a new one made that is taking up two of the three wishes. And the last wish is to bring back Ms. Shiretoko."

"Okay but does this planet really need a moon?" Vegeta asked because as he saw it, if they had to drop one of the wishes that would be the one.

"Unfortunately," Bulma grumbled at her husband's question. She had to answer honestly as there were already reports of the negative side effects of not having the lunar object in the sky and while she wouldn't mind waiting a year to use the dragon balls again, there would be too many problems that would crop up in the year to ignore.

"You're sure this is the right thing to do? Just stacking another lie on top of the truth and hoping the problem goes away?" Piccolo asked as he wasn't sure if this would work a second time for them.

"It's probably not in the long run," Bulma shrugged, unknowing how long this would all last before people caught on to the truth. "But, when have we ever made smart decisions?"

"Alright, just as long as we're all on the same page," Piccolo smirked because if they were going to eventually go down for all this, at least they can say they did it together.

After being briefed on what he needed to do to sell this to the masses, Gohan had taken some time to mentally prepare himself for what he would have to do next. "Okay, showtime." He exhaled and stepped out of the building where he'd been making himself ready for the public.

Gohan saw that people were watching him nervously as he thrashed around for a bit in his ascended form; he'd broken up completely empty buildings to put on a believable show of destruction. He'd made it look as if he was out of control when he heard the call of his partner in this sham.

"Hey you!" Hercule's booming voice said, drawing the panicking crowd's attention. "I'm not going to let you destroy any more of my city, or my name isn't Mr. Satan," the fraud announced while standing heroically on top of some rubble to make sure there was good visibility on him.

The appearance of the number one hero was enough to get the crowd to cheer about being saved.

Gohan half heartedly yelled and attacked Mr. Satan, who had been told to just do whatever and let Gohan fall into the attacks to make it believable. The man had been terrified and it wasn't until his daughter assured him that Gohan was not going to slaughter him and that he needed to do this for the sake of the planet was he able to muster up the courage needed to put on the act.

"Megaton Punch," the man bellowed his attack while jutting out his fist, which Gohan corrected his angle of approach and slammed his face into the outstretched limb, before immediately reversing into a parked car and bouncing off the vehicle after visibly denting the metal.

Hercule was weak at the knees even with Gohan basically throwing himself around, the fake hits still felt like he had been punching a solid wall. He knew how absolutely outclassed he was in this and had tried to convince the group planning the sham that it should be All Might or any of the other top ten heroes to be doing this, but the analysts had been clear that the public would only accept him doing this because of his past claim against Cell.

The fight would continue in a completely one sided manner, where Gohan would fruitlessly attack the hero who seemed untouchable to the rampaging saiyan. This caused the public to cheer for their savior even as Mr. Satan wished that this would just end, but it had to go on long enough to ensure that it was believable to the masses, the military would take care of anyone who questioned the narrative.

Gohan stood panting while he clutched his side in faux pain, all that was needed was for Mr. Satan's finishing blow and then the man's impassioned speech about mercy or some other nonsense that a team of writers had been paid a lot of money to come up with that they were sure would bring the crowd to tears.

"I can't do it," Hercule Satan cried out, suddenly going off script. "This isn't right." Turning himself to face the amassed crowd.

'No,' Gohan thought to himself while he and everyone else looked at the hero wondering what he was doing.

"I shouldn't be up here, and you all shouldn't be cheering," Hercule stopped and addressed the crowd.

'No god dammit, stick to the script Satan,' Gohan mentally screamed, furious that of all times for the man to grow a conscience now would be the worst time.

"He's a good kid, my daughter is a classmate of his and even though they got off on the wrong foot when they first met, she's grown to like him as a friend." Hercule continued his impassioned speech to the crowd that were silent as they listened. "Treating him like a monster that needs to be controlled isn't right. I know he kind of went too far but he regrets what he did and ultimately no one got hurt by it."

While Gohan waited for the crowd to explode into fury and begin the largest riot ever seen, suddenly someone's voice called out from the crowd. "Yeah, he's right. We shouldn't be cheering for a hero to beat up a kid."

"He just lost control and we don't need to be afraid of him," another voice chimed in agreement with the first person. Soon after the crowd began to become vocal in their support of Hercule and Gohan.

Those who had spent time in helping to concoct the scheme to pacify the masses about Gohan just stared dumbly at the reaction of the crowd. "I… fucking hate... your stupid species," Vegeta grunted in annoyance at how this farce had still managed to work in their favor.

After that shitshow of a coverup happened, Gohan along with his friends and those at U.A. were gathered on the Lookout for the summoning of Shenron. "Been a couple of years since we've done this," Yamcha smirked at Tien while Dende brought out the Eternal Dragon.

"Woah so that's the dragon that Gohan was talking about," Kirishima gave an impressed whistle looking all over the sky that the dragon was taking up. "Gotta say, it does not disappoint."

"Shenron, for our first wish, recreate this planet's moon that was destroyed," Dende shouted up to the large mystical beast.

The Eternal Dragon's eyes flashed red before it responded in a deep, booming voice. "Your wish has been granted. You have one wish left."

"With our final wish bring Tomoko Shiretoko back to life," Gohan shouted with barely restrained glee that his girlfriend would no longer be dead.

Shenron's eyes blinked before dimming. "Your wish has not been granted."

That declaration had caused everyone to freeze in place and Gohan's smile immediately turned into a frown. "I'm sorry… what did you say?" hissing at Shenron for not granting the wish.

"She does not wish to return to life at this time." Clarifying the reason why he did not grant the wish to the summoners.

"NO!" Gohan shouted, flying up to float in front of Shenron's face. "You said the same thing when my dad was dead Shenron, don't you pull this crap with me again."

"Hello, can you all hear me?" King Kai's voice suddenly chimed into everyone's head. "I uh, got someone here who has a few words to say." Clearing his throat and shutting up so someone else could speak through him.

"Um, Gohan." Tomoko said quietly. "I asked Shenron not to bring me back to life."

Gohan had just opened his mouth before his girlfriend cut him off. "Not permanently. Please believe me when I say I do want to come back to life. I want to be with you. But I need to get stronger and your father and King Kai agreed to give me some training here in Other World."

"But I need you Tomoko," Gohan responded, his voice unable to mask the pain he was feeling. "Please come back." Tears were stinging at his eyes from the possibility that she wouldn't return to him.

"And I need to get stronger so that no one could keep us apart in the future and I know that I can get that here. So please, I'm begging you to give me six months to train here and then I swear I will be back in your arms and I'll never leave."

"Six months?" Gohan's voice hitched.

"Yeah huh. Just a half a year son, I promise when me and King Kai are done training your girlfriend that no one will be able to do a repeat of this." Goku chimed in since he could see how distraught his son was at hearing that he'd continue to be separated from the woman he so clearly loved for so long. He had plenty of experience in that department himself with being dead for many years.

"Can Shenron do that, a time delayed revive?" Bulma questioned Dende as he would know more about the powers of the Eternal Dragon since he had created it.

The little Namekian shrugged. "I am unsure, it should be possible but no one has ever worded the wish that way. Shenron, could you revive Tomoko Shiretoko in 6 months time?"

The Eternal Dragon remained dormant for a moment before its eyes flashed red. "Your wish has been granted." Using up the last wish before disappearing in a bolt of lightning and the seven balls flying off into the distance to go into hiding somewhere on the planet.

With the display over, everyone was watching Gohan as he floated in the air. "Is he going to be alright?" Hagakure whispered to Shoji next to her.

After a tense few moments, Gohan finally spoke up, his voice cracking part of the way through. "I- I think I'd like to leave the planet now, for a while." He said to the people below him.

"Where would you even go?" Aizawa asked, because it seemed like Gohan had made up his mind about what he wanted to do, but not the important details that one typically associated with a plan like this.

"Yardrat, New Namek, just somewhere not here, I can't… I can't be here knowing that Tomoko is gone," Gohan said while trying to keep his emotions under control.

"Well if Gohan is going on a galactic vacation, can I come along? I've always wanted to see space," Mina asked excitedly. She had loved science and aliens ever since she was a little girl so discovering that Gohan was half-alien was the coolest thing ever, but now she had a chance to venture out into the stars, she couldn't possibly pass that up.

The young half-saiyan only offered a shrug, he wasn't really in the best condition to plan out anything at the moment.
