Peggy knocks on the door of this nice looking house. She knows that raiding Cadmus will make her an enemy of the state. But she needs to stop Amanda Waller and her friends. The door opens to show an elder man. He smiles and hugs his old friend. "Peggy! It's been decades. Steve always said that you must be alive. Come in, I don't get that many guests."
"Good to see you too, Bucky." She returns the hug and enters her war buddy's home. They sit down together on his couch to catch up. "So what have you been doing over these years? Have you been talking with Steve?"
The old man relaxes to give his story. "After you disappear with that squid, Steve and his Hydra Stomper lead the Siege of Berlin and defeat Germany. He became what he always wanted to be: a war hero. He even fought in the Cold War but something happened."
"What happened to Steve?" She asks Bucky but he looks sad.
"It was Korea where he just disappeared on the border of China. No one knows what happened to him. All that was left of him was the Hydra Stomper which was ripped apart and had fresh blood on it."
The news devastates Carter but she doesn't have time to grieve. Agents of Cadmus will come soon. "I am here not just to visit but there is something I want you to do."
"Sure what do you need?"
"I need you to call our old friends. I need help and they are the only ones I know that will agree to this." Carter explains to her old friend about Task Force X and Cadmus which makes the old man shock. "I see, so that is why you need them. Honestly I thought you were here to for a visit."
Bucky gets up and walks toward a cabinet and opens it to show a flip phone and hands it to Peggy. She opens it to show two contacts.
Cadmus is preparing for a possible assault though General Eiling looks at the agents and personal running around, making sure defences are ready and snorts as he looks down at Director Waller with a mocking tone. "Cadmus attack? Those so-called heroes know the consequences of attacking a government base. They do not have the guts."
"Perhaps you are right about the Justice League but this woman isn't a part of them. She has always done things her own way. I would think a general would know about Captain Britain." She returns the mocking of Eiling.
"I only look up to American generals. President Bush and Eisenhower are the ones I care about. Not some woman that got lucky getting the Super Soldier Serum." Waller frowns at her colleague's jingoism but doesn't comment. He is an idiot but a useful one. Suddenly, alarms blares and one of the soldiers watching the camera warns the two. "General! Director! We got intruders attacking. They blew a section of the building."
""What! Let me see that!" Eiling demands and pushes the soldier while Waller watches behind him to see Captain Britain with two other people. Doomsday jumps and punches Peggy but she blocks the strike with her shield. One of them is a flaming man flying and sends fireballs to knock the guards away while another, in a speedo, is carrying a trident and stabs it into Doomsday, making the creature yell in pain. "Who the hell is with her?!"
"That's the Human Torch and Namor. How did she find the Invaders? Send out Galatea." The Wall is shocked that the team that fought against the Axis powers have returned to take them out but can't pause for a minute. The clone of Supergirl flies and punches Human Torch.
"Is that the best you got?" Galatea mocks the flaming man but he gets up and tackles her and crashes into the wall. Doomsday grabs Namor but he summons water to slam the monster. "You do not scare me creature. I have dealt with calamari that are more dangerous than you. Let me show you why I am the Prince of the Sea!"
Doomsday punches Namor in the face, making him fall. It grabs him by the leg and slams him to the ground. However he stabs Doomsday in the eye. It holds it's eye in pain and lets go of Namor, allowing him to climb the monster and choke it. Galatea grabs the Human Torch but the fire he is emitting makes her let go and he punches her in the head.
"You just made the worst mistake of her life." She threatens as her eyes glow red. Peggy runs deeper in the base, knowing her friends can handle them. Captain Britain finds Waller and Eiling being escorted by a squad. She dives down and punches a soldier. One of them aims at her but she throws her shield which knocks him out. She catches the shield and slams it into another. She points at the leaders of Cadmus. "Director Amanda Waller and General Wade Eiling, You are both under arrest for crimes against humanity, murder, and kidnapping. Come quietly and I promise I'll only sucker punch both of you once."
"You think our country will persecute us?!" Eiling shouts with a smug look. After all, as a 3-star general, he won't even find himself in a courtroom. But he becomes shocked once Carter bursts his bubble.
"Not in the US but you will in a United Nation's court." She reveals which makes Eiling furious and tries to take a swing but she ducks and punches his leg, breaking it and he cries in pain. Peggy then elbows him and falls to the ground. Peggy looks around and doesn't see Waller. 'She left during the attack!'
Peggy runs after her but ducks when Human Torch crashes through the wall. She runs to her friend. "Dear me. Are you okay Toro?"
The flame shakes his head and gives a thumbs up. They look up to see Galatea flying over them and are smirking at them. Her eyes glow red but are slammed by Doomsday, making them both fall. Namor walks towards the team. "To think we would reunite to fight these surface dwellers."
The two Cadmus experiments get up and walk towards the Invaders. Namor slams his trident, creating a tidal wave and Human Torch summons flames and hits the wave to create smoke, obscuring their vision. Carter runs through the smoke and runs deeper into the base as her friends hold them off.
Peggy sees Waller being escorted by a man in a red, white and blue uniform into a limousine. She throws her Union Jack shield and the projectile flies towards the Director but the bodyguard grabs the shield and throws it back. Peggy is shocked as she grabs her shield but the force causes her to fall to the ground and she is able to see the man in a mask with a giant A on the head and an equally large star in the chest. The bodyguard enters the passenger seat and the limo begins to drive. Acting quickly, Captain Britain gets up and goes after the limo.
She jumps and grabs the rim of the cars. Captain Britain climbs on the roof and punches the window to break it and enter through it. Another bodyguard tries to shoot her but she hits his hand and his aiming goes wrong and shoots the driver. The body slams on the wheel and the limo crashes in Metropolis Park.
The star-spangled bodyguard kicks the door to get out and grabs Waller. "This way ma'am."
"Ugh! Good work soldier. To think she would go this far." Amanda blames Peggy for this as the Super Soldier gets out as well.
"Hey, don't think I'm done Waller. You and Cadmus are through." The British hero prepares to battle but Amanda scoffs.
"There is nothing I won't do to protect America. Including creating a hero of our own. Captain America, kill her." She orders her bodyguard, who nods and runs at Peggy and she hits him with her shield but he takes out a blade and blocks the attack. "Like the blade? Made out of the metal from Apokolips, it has no equal including Vibranium."
She is sent flying and crashes into a tree. She looks at it and notices a large scratch on it. "Well this is going to be harder than I thought. Also Captain America? Real original."
"That shield is property of the US government. I should thank you for keeping it safe and giving blood to create the new Captain." She reveals Captain America's origins. After Peggy Carter was turned into the super soldier, she was forced to give blood away so the US could try to recreate the project as the scientist was killed. This Captain America is the result of those blood.
She dodges a strike as the tree is cut in half and falls. Peggy ducks a strike and uppercuts Captain America but he grabs her by the head and knees her face.
He goes for a finishing blow but Peggy grabs his hand and headbutts him. This dazes him and gives her a chance for an uppercut. She grabs his mask and rips it off to show his face. She can't believe who it is, someone she knows and loves. "Steve?"
"Who the hell is Steve?" The revealed Captain America questions as he stabs her in the stomach. She falls and tries to hold the wound. As she begins to black out she can hear Director Waller order Steve Rogers.
"Ignore her Captain America. Let's take her into custody."
Unknown to them, Long Shadow is watching the whole thing and follows them but begins to cough up blood. "No! I will not let them turn people into weapons anymore. For my friends. With whatever time I have left."
Martian Manhunter is going over the supercomputer of the Watchtower and sees video footage of Director Waller taking Captain Britain away with Captain America carrying her away.
"J'onn! You can't seriously let Waller take her away! We need to save her." Stargirl pleads with Manhunter but he shakes his head.
"We can't… The US is still protecting Director Waller and until we get any other news, we can't do anything." The reasoning makes Stargirl angry and she throws her communicator to the ground. "Then consider this my resignation from the League."
She walks away and STRIPE walks alongside her. "Courtney, you do know that we will be hunted if we do this right?"
"I don't care if I go against the world. My hero is down there and needs help." She counters and though she doesn't see it, STRIPE is smiling.
"That's my girl. Let's go save a veteran." They walk to the portal but someone behind them stops.
"If you are saving the maiden of England then my sword is at your service Lady Stargirl, Ser STRIPE."
Fun Fact- I was considering the Ultimen or just the Avengers but than I thought of a team that isn't talk about that much so the Invaders came to mind.
