Chapter 5: Introductions
Back to the Emerald Forest
It's night time as the moon shines upon Remnant with it's cracked facade as it sits high in the sky. While most people on Remnant just see the moon at this point to be normal, 5 colorful soldiers however see it as something else.
"What the fuck happened to the moon?! It looks like someone grabbed a hammer and broke it like fine china!" Tucker exclaimed as he, Sarge,Caboose, Grif and Simmons all looked up at the moon above them.
"Maybe some UNSC idiot crashed a ship into it." Grif suggested.
"Well men, if we're on Earth right now, then what part of the planet are we on?" Sarge asked.
"Ooh ooh, I have an idea, mister sargent. We're in Florida!" Caboose exclaimed.
" Sir, I don't even think this is Earth. This whole forest doesn't look like anything seen on Earth and if this was Earth, you'd think somebody or any animals would've come to greet us or at least check us." Simmons said, looking all around for any sign of life.
"Ooh, let's play I-spy. I spy with my-"
"Shut it Caboose." The others tell the blue soldier.
"Well if you don't want to play, you don't. I spy with my little eye, something green!" Caboose says, making everyone else groan.
At first everyone ignores Caboose's game of I-spy until Grif decides to break the silence and play along begrudgingly.
"Alright fine, I'll bite. Is it grass?" Grif asks.
"Nope." Caboose answers confusing the rest of them.
"Is it leaves?" Sarge asks.
"Nope, wrong again." Caboose says confusing them even more.
"Just what are you getting at Caboose, cmon spit it out." Tucker says wanting an answer.
"Ok fine..the answer is a ship." Caboose finally says the answer, making his 4 friends go silent for a few seconds and then angry.
"Where would a ship be!? There's no ship in the sky that's green at all!" Simmons says looking straight at Caboose's face or rather his helmet.
"Yes there is, it's that green ship that's over there." Caboose says pointing at a Pelican that's flying towards them.
They all immediately stop and watch as the Pelican touches down on the ground and its door opens as Washington and Carolina walk out of the flying vehicle and towards the 5 of them.
"Huh, for once Caboose was right about something. Again." Grif says shocked at how Caboose of all people were able to see a spaceship from a few meters away.
"Who cares right now, we can find a way off wherever we are. So how the hell did you even find us?" Simmons asks the two freelancers.
"Jensen used the cameras you added to your helmets back from Chorus." Wash told them.
"Wait Jensen? You're telling me some of the Federal Army and New Republic guys are here too. How did they get here?" Tucker asked, shocked.
"They were in the Pelican with us when we were flying towards the Staff of Charon before we got transported here. We also lost the pilot who got us here from one of the creatures out here." Carolina says looking down remembering the sight of the bloodied soldier who died and whose body remains inside the ship.
Everything goes silent for a few seconds before Wash decides to speak up to them
"Right now we need to find a base of operations and then we figure out where the others are and find them. By the way Tucker, where's Church?"
"I don't know, he was with us on the Staff and now he's gone." He says before hearing the sound of confetti and a party horn go off with some of it landing on Tuckers shoulder.
"Sorry. I thought I saw him." Caboose says as Tucker raises a hand and pushes his assault rifle down from aiming at his head.
"We need to find Epsilon and stat if we're going to find a way off this rock. Let's fly out of this forest, we saw some lights from afar so there's definitely civilization nearby." Carolina says as she starts to walk back to the Pelican.
"Alright let's go. But before we do, Simmons activate Protocol 48, I always wanted to do something like this." Sarge orders him.
"Sir, we don't have any rope or matches so how are we gonna roast Grif on an open fire?" Simmons asks before watching Sarge start to try and climb a tree.
The others watch as Sarge tries to climb the tree although he sucks badly before Sarge sighs and walks straight to the ship.
"Damnit, one day I'll roast his numbnuts. One day." Sarge whispers although everyone could hear him say it.
"(Sigh) I'm not gonna like this one bit." Grif says as he and the others hop into the ship as it lifts off the ground and into the sky before flying off towards a city in the distance.
Back to Beacon Academy
After Bakugou's rude question, the U.A. students introduced themselves and explained their situation to Ozpin who after a few minutes of contemplation spoke.
"While your story is convincing and I do wish to help with your situation, I'd like to see proof that you all aren't lying to me in any way and your story is true to your word." He asks them.
The students then pull out anything they have in their pockets that can give any sort of proof to Ozpin.
After showing the professor pictures from their phones, any school ID's they had on their person and some of the equipment on their costumes, Ozpin went silent for a few minutes in contemplation making the U.A. students nervous wondering what the man would tell them.
Well all except Bakugou who wanted an answer from Ozpin rather immediately.
"Oi! What the hell are you gonna do, throw us out or send us off to become someone else's problem!" He shouts as Ozpin looks up with a small yet noticeable grin on his face as he answers the angry pomeranian.
"Well to answer your question Mr. Katsuki, I'm going to give you an offer that you all get to choose on." He says stunning the young heroes in training.
"What's the offer?" Todoroki asks.
"The offer is that you all can stay here at Beacon Academy or you can leave. Simple as that. If you stay here, you'll gain a place to stay, food and the opportunity to learn more about my world. If you decide to leave then you gladly can, I won't stop you at all. I'll give you time to discuss among yourselves. " He tells them.
The students then look at each other before huddling into a circle and discussing their options.
"I think we should stay here, I mean he has a point, we're new to this world and we have no shelter or anywhere to go." Ochako says.
"I agree with Uraraka on this, besides we don't know where or if any of our peers or teachers got sent here with us, if we stay here perhaps we can find a way back home and a way to find them just in case." Todoroki says before Bakugou decides to add in.
"I don't think we should trust this guy. For all we know, this could be some trap or trick he's pulling on us." Bakugou says.
"Maybe but still, why would someone with bad intentions allow us into his school and just give us the option to stay instead of just locking us up for torture or whatever." Denki says.
The others then sigh before Izuku who after a large amount of time thinking decides to speak up.
"Well regardless of what we think of Professor Ozpin, we have to consider the fact that without his offer, we'll just be on the streets hungry and starving. With this, we'll have a roof over our heads and time to plan out our next moves. We learn more of this world and we figure out how to get back to ours. Maybe we could even help him, he doesn't seem to be from here as well." He says pointing over to Spider-Man still lying unconscious in the hospital bed.
The teens then make up their minds as they turn back to Ozpin with an answer.
"I guess we'll be staying here for the time being." Izuku says, scratching the back of his head.
"Excellent, I welcome you all to Beacon Academy. If you may, Team Rwby would be glad to escort you to your dorms and give you a tour of the campus." Ozpin says as he opens the door to Team Rwby who appear to have been listening in on the whole conversation.
"Oh..I..uh… ok Professor. I guess you can all follow us." Ruby says trying to hide what she and her team were doing as they and the U.A. students walk out of the room.
However as they all leave Mina stops as she turns back to Professor Ozpin to ask him one last thing.
"So what are you gonna do when he wakes up Professor?" She says looking at Spider-Man.
He drinks a bit from his coffee mug before answering back with, "When he does awaken, I wish to ask him some questions and then send him on his way."
"Oh okay, when he does wake up, can you tell him I said thank you for saving me and my friend." She says, receiving a nod in response.
"Oi! Racoon Eyes, get your ass over here!" Bakugou yells as Mina runs off towards her friends while Ozpin watches before shutting the door and turning to the remaining person in the room.
"Unique children indeed yet they couldn't tell that you were faking the entire time." He says as Spider-Man pushes himself up on the bed.
"Well, it wouldn't be hard to fake being asleep now isn't it Professor Ozpin." He says getting a chuckle out of the professor.
"So, do I get the same offer as them or you have something else in mind?" Peter jokes as he leans back into the pillow behind his head.
"Your assumption is correct but I'm more interested in the object you have...and the artificial intelligence you possess ." Ozpin says, shocking Peter at the fact that he has knowledge of his secret identity and of Church
"H-How? W-When did you?" Peter mutters out in confusion as Church appears from the watch to speak.
"H-How in the hell did you-" Church cursed out before getting cut off by Ozpin.
"Let's just say I have eyes in places that you wouldn't expect. For example a camera placed on a tree in the forest." He says as the two then understand now how he knew.
"So, you were watching us in the forest. No wonder a ship showed up to take us back here, you sent it the moment you saw those creatures attack us." He says with an angry glare under his mask.
"While yes I did send out a bullhead with my students to retrieve you both and the two girls, I didn't expect for their friends to also come here or even be a part of the situation." Ozpin says, causing Peter to lose the glare he had.
"So what do you want, seeing how you allowed us in here, we have something of interest to you." Church asked. He knew that people would be nice to others and then show their true colors later down the line. He wanted to make sure this wouldn't be a repeat of Felix.
"If you could, I'd like to see who's under the mask. Who exactly is Peter Parker and more so what caused you to rage out against the Death Stalker?" He says looking at Peter's lenses as he goes quiet for a few seconds.
'If I do this, I'm putting trust into a guy who I barely know but sent help for me, Ashido and Asui, he also knows about Church and the incident. He has this feeling of Doctor Strange mixed with a small hint of Iron Man, a nice man who knows a lot and has a lot of information on things but can also act like a shady person.' Peter notes in his head as he looks at Ozpin's eyes. Eventually he reaches for his mask but not before saying, "This stays a secret, you don't tell any of them you know who I look like or who I am."
"You have my word."
Peter pulls off his mask to reveal his chocolate eyes to Ozpin's golden-brown irises as a deafening silence enters the room before Ozpin decided to speak up. "You have unique eyes."
"What?"
"The fuck?"
"Your eyes show me a lot of things. A look of childlike innocence mixed with the look of trauma and pain. You have both the look of childlike naivety and the look of someone who has seen things that any person would wish to unsee on the field of duty. A look of joy mixed with a look of grim understanding for how the world works."
Peter stared at the man completely stunned before speaking, "Heh haven't heard someone talk about me like that unless you're Cap. I guess you both have something in common."
"A friend of yours?" Ozpin asked.
"More like an inspiration." Peter replied. "A selfless soldier and a great man who fights for everyone before tending to himself. He's one of the best, he even has a team of some of the greatest heroes I know."
"I see. Now, about that device on your arm. Do you have any idea on how it works or what it does?" Ozpin asked as Peter raised his arm with the watch attached to it
"No, it didn't exactly come with a user's manual but Church has been looking into it. Show Oz here what we have so far." Peter said to Church.
"Alright then. Well this thing is surprising very advanced for a mere pocket watch or whatever the fuck you'd use to compare it. This thing has a lot of stuff that's either nowhere to be found or locked away but it does have a codex of information. This codex is empty except for two files: one named Spirit Watch and the other called a Morpher." Church informed the old professor as Peter looked down at the technological watch on his arm.
"By the way, about what happened in the forest. Before I raged out, I saw something and heard a voice." He says interesting Ozpin.
"What exactly did you hear and see?"
Peter paused as he recalled the events from before and sighed. "When Mina and Tsuyu were about to be attacked, it was like everything slowed down for me. I could see everything around me but I couldn't move and run to them. Then I heard a female's voice, it said 'Your understanding of the universe and beyond is flawed. I can help you find the truth, all you have to do is unlock your form and trust in your abilities. The rest will come naturally but for now I'll help you by removing this one but you will have to deal with the rest on your own. Remove them and once you transform, we'll talk again. Good luck Spider-Man and Spirit Spider 117.' That's what it said before I just went on the offensive and killed the thing in some blind rage." Peter finishes as Ozpin ponders on his words for a bit and Church, still digging inside the watch, finds something.
"Hey, I think I found something. If what you're saying about the voice is true and since it called you a Spirit Spider, maybe this codex entry might help." Church says before playing the entry aloud.
"Entry log: 14.30.33.02. He did it. I can't believe it but that bastard did it, the entire Corp is in shambles and I may be the only one left, Bahamut and Lord Dusk are preparing for a final battle between them and him, whoever wins shapes our entire existence as we know it. As for me, this will be my final entry log, his forces have caught up to me and I'll probably be dead by the time anyone gets this. I have a plan though, I'm going to send my watch into the dimensional wormhole so nobody can get their hands on it, not even him. I've lived a good life and I'm ready to meet the rest of you soon up above. And for the people down below in Hell who created that monster, I hope you're rotting in the darkest pit of Hell you absolute waste of a Spirit Spider! You caused this and now everything our leaders built will be gone and forgotten across all universes. Our legacies won't even be around… I hear them...they're right outside. I'm ending this log and discarding my Spirit Watch now. This was Spirit Spider 21: Jaden Noir signing off." Church finished the log as all 3 in the room realize the harsh fate of Jaden Noir making Peter more nervous at what he now possesses.
"Well. Looks like I'm not getting a good rest tonight huh?" Peter quips with a dry laugh.
"About that Mr. Parker, my offer still stands. The choice is yours?" Ozpin said smiling.
Peter looked down at his mask and then his watch before looking back to Ozpin.
"Okay. I'll join Beacon Academy, but not as Spider-Man. Besides, someone has to keep an eye on the kids. But before that, I'll think I'll get a lay of the land around here." He then pushes up the window but before heading out Ozpin stops him.
"Before you do that, take this." Ozpin then hands him a scroll.
"What's this for?" Peter asks as he holds the device in his hand.
"That in your hand is a Scroll, it's used to unlock your dorm room lock and can be used for communication and information similar to the phone you have." Peter then nods to the Professor before hopping out of the window and web-slinging off towards the city of Vale.
Peter swings around the city looking down at the ground below seeing the many citizens, both animal-like and ordinary walking among each other. It's almost like back home with mutants and humans yet it's surprisingly more accepting and peaceful.
However that peace ends when Peter sees multiple police officers driving towards a large office building.
"Hey Church, can you get into the Police feed? What's going on over there?" He asks as Church then patches him as he listens in.
"All units. There is a hostage situation on Brandon Street, White Fang have taken the employees inside the building hostage. They've blocked off the entrance to the building so we need to remove it to enter." The feed says as Peter listens in before handing on a building opposite to the one taken over by The White Fang.
"Welp, sounds like shit's going on. So, you're gonna make an entrance." Church says looking at Peter.
"Yep. Alright, let's do this." Peter says as he makes a slingshot and flings himself into the window of the building.

Peter then breaks into the 7th story window of the building, shocking the White Fang soldiers. He then webs their guns before web zipping to them and slamming two soldiers' heads into each other knocking them out. One of the soldiers with the number 2 on his outfit then aims their gun at Spidey before having his gun pulled out of his hands and smashed across his face breaking his aura and knocking him out. A White Fang faunus with a semblance of strength tries to punch Peter but manages to never get a single hit on him. Peter then punches him in the stomach before kicking him back as he grips his stomach before trying to hit him again. "Man, you must be dazed from that punch. You didn't even get a single hit off." Peter quips before gripping the guy by the shirt and throwing him to the wall and slamming his left foot into his face, knocking him out. Peter rushes from floor to floor beating White Fang grunt after White Fang grunt until heading up to the 10th floor to find the supposed leader of the small arsons holding a grenade in his hand behind a room containing where all the hostages were hiding.

"You either let me go or I'll kill all these people!" The man then prepares to pull the pin on the grenade before he watches the grenade get webbed out of his hand. The man is shocked at how the grenade got pulled out of his hand before getting punched in the jaw and knocked out. Peter then turns to the hostages and gives them a thumbs up as they start to usher out of the building giving him small thank yous or questions.

Peter then webs out of the building before heading over to an apparent Jewelry theft and other crimes all across the city even ending with someone handing him some money which he at first refused to accept until he took it to buy some clothes for himself. Soon, the Vale News Network begins to take notice as they start to interview multiple people about the appearances of Spider-man as everyone starts to speculate and wonder where this random hero showed up and who's under the mask.
After dealing with the multiple crimes around the city, Peter decides to head in for the night and swings back to Beacon, slipping off his costume and changing into some normal clothes as he raises his scroll to the door and it unlocks. He pushes the door to his room open and sees two beds inside and no sign of the other person.
"Huh, maybe they're not here at the moment." He says to himself as he then hides his costume away in a spot no one could see.
He then walks into the bathroom and starts up the shower to wash himself off. As he washes off the dirt and grime on his body, Peter also looks at the many bruises and scars on his body including a big one on his right hip.
His eyes shift in discomfort as he washes that part of his body before finishing up and shutting the water off. He dries himself off with a towel and puts on some sleepwear as he walks out of the bathroom right as he hears the door open and standing at the door is Mina Ashido as her eyes go from the floor to Peter's eyes.
"Oh..I guess we'll be staying in the same dorm huh. Let me guess Ozpin didn't tell you that either huh?" Mina says, receiving a nod from Peter.
An unexpected coincidence indeed.
