Chapter 1: New Page
When Orochimaru was asked to come and drink with his teammates at Minato's home, he grew suspicious.
He knows that Minato suspects him, and it is clear that neither of them trust each other. But after a talk with Jiraya, he decided to go.
The atmosphere wasn't tense. He greeted Minato, they shook hands, Jiraya did his jokes, Tsunade was about to black out drunk as Minato and Orochimaru, somehow, talked about politics.
"So, brat, why did you call us here?" Jiraya asked "I mean, I like the gesture, but the bar is used to us already."
Minato smiled "Well Sensei; I am going to be a father."
Orochimaru wasn't expecting that. He smiled at him "Well, congratulations are in order." He said, trying to figure out what game Minato is playing.
Minato chuckled "Thank you. And I wanted to ask you three, to be the god fathers, and god mother of each one."
"Hold on; you are having three kids? At the same time?" Tsunade asked rubbing her head and Minato shook his.
"Two. A boy and a girl."
Jiraya laughed "Don't worry Minato! Under the watch of the Great Jiraya, I'll turn the kid into the best shinobi in the world!" He bragged as Orochimaru raised a hand.
"While I am honored that you considered me, I must ask; why? Last time I check, we weren't in the best terms." He asked and Minato nodded as he smiled.
"I know. But... I think we can start again, don't you? What good would it make for us to fight?" He asked and Orochimaru smirked.
"Thinking as a Hokage. It seems Sensei didn't go senile after all." he joked "Who will I look after?"
"Kushina wants you and Tsunade to look over the boy, while Jiraya-Sensei and Mikoto Uchiha will look over the girl."
Tsunade glared at her teammate "I'll castrate you if she turns to be a pervert."
"O-Oi!"
Orochimaru chuckled at their antics "What's his name?"
Minato smiled "Naruto. It means-"
"Maelstrom. What a fitting name."
*October 10*
"Cheers!" The Sannins exclaimed as they were in their usual pub, celebrating the birth of the children.
As they drank Tsunade huffed "I still can't believe the old witch didn't let me be there to help with delivering the brats."
"KuKuKu, I know that Biwako must have her reasons Tsunade. Especially after the last time you 'helped'." Orochimaru teased and Jiraya laughed.
"Teme's right Hime. I was afraid you would crush the brat's head once he popped." He laughed as Tsunade got a dark look on her face.
"Why you..."
Then... the Kyubi appeared.
The sannins didn't hesitate. They got out of the pub, did the hand sings and slammed it on the floor.
"Kuchiyose no Jutsu! (Summoning Technique)"
*Hours Later*
Orochimaru sighed as he and Jiraya sat on a bench at the crowded hospital. Everything went horribly wrong. As they were being checked by some few nurses, mainly by chakra exhaustion, Tsunade went to help the most critical victims of the attack.
"So... Minato is gone now..." Jiraya muttered and Orochimaru nodded.
"It seems that way... did Kushina-"
"She's alive. Barely, but alive. She should be with the brats now." He grinned "Oi Teme, I bet my goddaughter looks better than your godson."
"Really Jiraya? Right here? Right now?"
"Hey, I am trying to cheer you up! You look handsome when you are not frowning, y'know?" Orochimaru smirked amused as he stood up.
"If you are so confident, why don't we go and see if that is true." Jiraya laughed as both shinobi walked to the room, Kushina should be in. But just before they arrived, they see their Sensei walking to them, with a bundle in his arms.
"Orochimaru. Jiraya." Sarutobi greeted and both Sanins that nodded.
"Hey Sensei. Shouldn't you be with Kushina?" Jiraya asked and Sarutobi sighed. Then, Orochimaru noticed the blonde baby.
"That's-"
Sarutobi nodded "Yes. Minato's and Kushina's eldest."
"Sensei; why is he with you?" Orochimaru asked, his eyes not leaving the baby.
Sarutobi sighed "Let's talk this in my office. As much I hate to admit it... here he is not safe."
*Hokage´s Office*
"Kushina... disowned him!?" Orochimaru exploded slamming his hands on the table.
Sarutobi nodded "I am afraid so." Orochimaru gripped the table so hard it started to crack.
Jiraya patted his back, trying to calm him down "The seal that Minato did... divided soul and chakra, right?" Jiraya asked and Hiruzen nodded "I am guessing that Mito has the chakra and Naruto has the soul."
"A jinchuriki only in name..." Orochimaru concluded and Hiruzen nodded.
"Orochimaru, you must understand; Kushina is grieving and she choose her son to vent."
"And you think that is a good excuse!?" Orochimaru roared and Hiruzen shook his head.
"No. But I believe we must give her some time to think." Orochimaru scoffed.
"Sensei; you once told me, that a parent would never abandon his or her child on purpose." Orochimaru said, repeating the same words that Hiruzen said to him, on his parent's grave.
Hiruzen nodded "I remember."
Orochimaru nodded "Then we can agree, that she might have given birth to him, but lost the right to call him 'son'"
"Orochimaru..." Hiruzen started but Jiraya interjected.
"I agree with him. Kushina might end up harming or even killing Naruto if he stays with her."
"And where will Naruto grow up then?" Hiruzen asked and Orochimaru smirked.
"With me. After all, I am his godfather."
Hiruzen raised a brow and Jiraya nodded "I was there."
"I thought you hated Minato." Hiruzen stated and Orochimaru nodded.
"I used to. I hated him for not seeing him worth of the title, Hokage. But... he turned the page. One gesture... made him see him in another light."
Hiruzen nodded, proud of student "Very well. From this day onward, Orochimaru; you will be the legal guardian of Naruto Namikaze."
*Orochimaru´s Home*
Orochimaru was reading one of the many books that Tsunade gave him for, in her words 'Not kill the brat'.
Naruto was asleep in a crib when someone knocked the door. He closed the book, sighed and went to open.
"Kushina." Orochimaru said at the woman, who had a solemn look on her face.
"I don't know what you plan to do with... that thing, but I just want to make sure you don't allow it to come close to my daughter." She said and Orochimaru frowned.
"Don't worry. I wasn't planning on letting him go with people that hates him in the first place. In that same note, don't come close to him. Don't talk to him. Don't think about him. Nothing."
Kushina huffed "I know you just want to spit on Minato's grave by doing this."
"I believe that the only one that is disrespecting him, is you." Kushina glared at him making him smirk "I will ask you to leave, Uzumaki-San."
Once Kushina left, Orochimaru went to Naruto's crib and ruffled his hair. "You don't know it yet, but you have a lot of enemies. In and out of the village." Naruto giggled and Orochimaru smiled. He just knows that Anko will love him.
"Don't worry, I will make you into a shinobi your father will be proud of."
