Chapter 2: Damage

Hello! Great to see that the first chapter was successful! I pray that everyone is doing well and staying safe and sound. I just saw that I forgot to place a disclaimer, please forgive me for that. Thank you all for liking the last chapter, I hope that you all enjoy this chapter as well.

Author's Note: The plot will take place around season 4 where they'll meet Eri. Just wanted to point that out before anyone gets confused.

(Emma's P.O.V.)

"Okay, okay! That's enough both of you!" Aizawa sensei says as rabid Pomeranian and I were pulled away from each other.

How did this happen? Well… It all started when we had gotten back to class. Let's rewind:

(Flashback to when the lunch bell rang)

"Hey! Maybe you can show us your quirk in action!" I hear Uraraka say to Tani as I sit down and start writing in my notebooks.

Day 1:

So far… The class seems alright, but that Kacchan guy seems to hate me already. But by the looks of it… He doesn't seem to get along with anyone. Asides from that, lunch was pretty good… That was until the crazed Pomeranian, possibly rabid, started-

"Whatcha writing there?" I hear a voice say, which makes me jolt up and fall off my chair "Ah! I'm terribly sorry! I didn't mean so startle you"

"Please don't sneak up on me like that…" I pick myself up while ignoring his hand offering to help me up.

"I-I really didn't mean to sneak up on you, I just wanted to know what you were writing" The green haired kid explained.

"That's really none of your business…" I say as I fix my papers, only to see that my notebook was missing "Where is it?!"

"Where's what? Maybe I can help" he says until we hear another voice.

"Oh, looky here, it's some sort of diary…" rabid Pomeranian says as he holds it up at the same the page where I was writing.

"Give that back… Right… Now" I say sternly as I take a step forward.

"'Day one…' Blah blah blah…" he says as he reads it out loud and he gets an angry look on his face "Rabid… Pomeranian?"

"Kacchan please don't…" the green haired boy said next to me "That's hers in the first place-"

"Shut up Deku! Stay out of this!" Kacchan yells as I look at a fallen book on the ground and get an idea.

Using a partial part of my quirk, I move my right hand in a small swift move, the book flies and hits him in the backside of his head.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" he yells as I grab my notebook.

"You have some nerve touching something that isn't yours" I say as I quickly place my notebook away.

"You have some nerve using your quirk like that to the future Number One Hero!" He yells at me.

"Ha! You?! A Number One Hero?! More like Number One Zero!" I retorted walking back to my seat.

"I'm not afraid of some wimpy little sissy!" Bakugou yells as he lunges towards me.

"Kacchan!" I hear someone yell as I see Tomiko jump out of my sweater pocket and attack Kacchan.

"Damn little rat!" Kacchan yells as he grabs Tomiko and throws him against the wall, which makes me flinch.

"Tomiko!" I shout as I run to him and drop to my knees as I pick him up.

"Is he okay?" I hear the spikey red haired guy ask worried as Tomiko weakly tries to pick himself up only to fall back down onto my palms.

As everyone either tries to stop Bakugou from doing more damage or check if Tomiko is okay, my hands begin to tremble out of anger.

"You…" I say as I stand up while still holding Tomiko in my hands and slowly turn to face the one who harmed him "… You… BASTARD!"

(Izuku's P.O.V.)

"Kacchan, you don't understand. Not only is she unstable with her quirk, Tomiko is the only one who always calms her down" Tani explains as she looks worried while grabbing his arm "And since you hurt him, she will most likely lose her temper"

"Hold him!" Emma hands me Tomiko as she marches towards Kacchan "If you're going to fight, then fight with your real opponent"

"E-Emma, please calm down. He probably didn't- Eep!" Tani is pushed out of the way, by Kacchan, on time when Emma throws a desk at him.

"Are you a psycho?!" he exclaims as he backs up trying to pick himself up, only to be forced down by Emma's quirk.

"Oh yeah I am a psycho, that's pretty much my reputation of what a psycho is to me" she says menacing as she picks up a chair "Maybe I should show you just how crazy I am"

"Emma wait!" Tani shouts as I feel Tomiko nudge my hand as if in warning and hints that I have to take him to Emma.

Just as I was about to run, Kacchan uses his quirk, making the room smoke up. Before anything else can happen, familiar white scarfs wrap themselves around Emma and Kacchan.

"Okay, okay! That's enough both of you!" Aizawa sensei says as Kacchan and Emma were pulled away from each other. As he was pulling them, Tomiko jumps out from my hands, lands on Emma's shoulder as he begins to nuzzle her cheek and neck.

"Are you okay?" Emma, as if nothing happened, asks Tomiko softly as she holds him gently.

"Office, now-" Aizawa was cut off as the door opened and we see-

"ALL MIGHT?!" everyone exclaimed at once.

"Hey everyone, just wanted to drop by and give these… What on earth happened here?!" he exclaims as he almost dropped the box from a popular cake shop.

"That's what I was gonna figure out, we have to report this to the principal" Aizawa explains as he lets Emma and Kacchan go.

"I see…" he places the box down on a desk "… Emma, was it?"

"What?" she says with an attitude, which shocks me and the rest of the class.

"Do you mind if I speak to you privately?" All Might ask as he stands by the door as Tomiko uses his paw to pat her chin as if telling her to listen.

"Fine…" she reluctantly walks out as he smiles at everyone.

"Maybe it's best for everyone to start their training, since the room is a bit of a mess" he suggests.

"I really don't have a choice, do I?" Aizawa responds.

(Dorm house)

"That was crazy! She practically sounded like those villains on TV!" Mina exclaimed as she took a sip of her drink.

"Sh! Don't say that! She wouldn't have acted like that if Kacchan didn't touch her notebook" Kaminari defends.

As the class quietly spoke on, they failed to see that Emma has entered the dorms. She stops for a moment, but then walk away as Tomiko lays like a cat around her neck.

"Guys… I think she heard" Kirishima whispered and we all look back.

"Of course, I heard. You guys aren't really quiet. Just leave me alone and everything will be fine…" she takes the stairs, instead of the elevator.

"She's scary" Mineta says looking truly afraid of her.

"Maybe one of us should go talk to her?" I suggest as I stand up.

"Just leave her alone, Deku. Like she said, she wants to be left alone" Uraraka says.

"Yeah, let's just hope tomorrow is better. The only highlight that it's the weekend. Ribbit" Tsuyu says as they get ready to go upstairs to their rooms.

"Yeah! We should go to the mall! Maybe we can help her feel welcomed by inviting her" Jiro suggests brightly.

"Have you guys forgotten what that freak almost did to me?!" Kacchan shouts "She almost murdered me today!"

"Aw, c'mon bro just give her a chance. Maybe she's not as crazy as we think" Kirishima says as he bops Kacchans head with a can of soda.

"Maybe we can go to that fair too! It's going to be all weekend long!" I chimed in, which makes everyone happy.

(Emma's P.O.V.)

What's the point? I say to myself in my head as I walk away eavesdropping on their conversation.

"A fair! We haven't been to one since forever!" Tomiko exclaims after I shut the door.

"And I rather keep it that way" I say glumly as I open my window and take out a cigarette.

"What? Oh, right… Unwanted memories?" he says quietly as I light up my cigarette.

"Yep…" I blow a puff of smoke "That and we have to go to our old place to bring some things"

"Oh, you mean that hidden wall at the abandoned building? That place wasn't really homey… I guess we should just be happy that no one knows about that… Well, maybe All Might" he says as he pulls out a blanket from my backpack.

"Yeah, it totally sucks too…"

(Flashback)

"You know that this kind of behavior isn't tolerated, right?" All Might said as I casually roll my eyes.

"I get it, but he touched my property and he had it coming!" I shot at him.

"Emma, you don't live in the streets anymore. Why is it that so difficult for you to understand? I have to keep it on the down low that I gotten guardianship without anyone finding out" he explains and then places a hand on my shoulder "Your past doesn't need to define you and I can't blame you for acting the way you do"

"Living in the streets made me more independent, unlike those two faced foster care idiots that I was living with… And it's not like I wanted your stupid guardianship in the first place" I cross my arms in annoyance and pull away from his touch.

"I know, but I didn't want the same child… The child I failed…" takes out his phone to show me sneaking into the wall from where I was living "… Having a worse life than she already has to deal with"

"Fine…" Tomiko yawns as he snuggles against my neck "… Tomorrow I have to go pick up some things at my old place"

"I understand, but I would like it if you also got along with the other students too after you're done" he explains.

"Fine, fine…" I mumble as I begin to walk away, but he stops me by grabbing my shoulder "What now?"

"You know they won't hurt you anymore… Right?" he says and I turn to face him in surprise, but to look away.

"I know…" I walk away "… But damages have already been done"
