Chapter 3: Nightmares and Sweet Treats

So sorry for the delay, I was quite busy lately. I was so happy to see the reviews and that someone has a theory about Emma's quirk. Her Quirk will remain a secret for now. Hope to get more reviews just like last time. If you like this fanfiction, then I highly suggest that you read my other fanfics, including the very first one I've ever made: "Befriending the Enemy"
Author's Note: The plot will take place around season 4 where they'll meet Eri. Just wanted to point that out before anyone gets confused.

(Emma's P.0.V.) (Inside Dream…)
"No! Leave me alone! It hurts!" I scream as I run away from the people chasing me. If I remember correctly, I was about seven years old. The hallways seemed endless as my tiny body tried to get away from the large men after me.
"You don't really have a choice" A voice in front of says as I fail to see that the shadowed man passed me and grabs my bloodied wrist as he forcefully drags me to the room. I fight and struggle to break free, but no matter what I do… My tiny hands couldn't stop him.
"Let me go! Let me go!" I shriek as I kick him, only for him to slap me across the face, making me fall onto the floor.
"You had your fun, especially at that fair… Now you owe me and our family" He comes and reaches his hand to grab my hair.
"I said… Don't…" I began to say as I felt a surge of unknown power rise inside me. When I lifted my head up, I felt blood stream off my forehead as objects began to float around the room. "I said… Don't… TOUCH ME!"
The windows and fragile objects began to break all at once as the walls began to quake violently making everyone fall, except me… I had just discovered that I was floating.
"I-It can't be…" The man says shocked as he backs away fearfully "Y-You're supposed to be Quirkless!"
"Well…" I say as I float close to him "… I guess I'm a late bloomer"
The last thing I see, is him screaming… And blood.
(Out of Dream…)
I gasp as I sit up and I feel myself cover in sweat. While wiping the sweat off my forehead, I get up from the floor that I made into a bed and check the time.
"Dammit! If I don't go now, then I won't be able to get my last things without being seen!" I scurry to get my things and grab my backpack.
"Morning Sunshine!" I hear Tomiko say as I almost trip over my shoes "Whoops, sorry…"
"Why didn't you wake me up?" I ask as I kneel down and see that he was dragging my other bag "No way…" I grab the bag and look inside and smile "You're the best, you know that?"
"I know I am, but…" Looks away nervously "… I think one of the students was following me. I tried scaring them away, but-"
"Emma, you awake?" I hear one of their voices. Worst part: Tomiko forgot to shut the door completely.
"Don't come in!" I use my quirk to slam the door shut as Tomiko helps hide my bag under the blanket.
"I hope we didn't wake you up, but we all got up early so we could go to the mall and we wanted to know if you wanted to-" I hear the female voice say before cutting her off.
"Jirou, right? Look, don't get offended, but… I really have no interest hanging out with any of you guys at all, okay?" I say uninterested as I grab my smaller bag with a slightly worn-out towel and my essentials as I open the door and walk past her. I also make sure that I keep my door shut so they can't enter my room.
"You sure? We were going to that sweet shop Tani told us about and she said-" I rolled my eyes and face her.
"Oh my gosh, did Tani really tell you that we were friends?" I say really annoyed.
"Aren't you?" she asked a little concerned.
"Of course… We're NOT friends. Whatever gave her that stupid idea anyways?" I say as I walk away.
Once I finished doing my morning routines, I head towards my room… Only to find them all waiting at my door…
"You guys really don't have lives, do you?" I say as I crossed my arms.
"No, we do. We just wanted to-" I cut off broccoli boy.
"Yeah yeah, your little friend already told me. Not interested…" I say as I use my quirk to move them aside.
"We wanted to see how your room looked" I froze as I turned to see the person who said that.
"Why on earth would you want to do something like that, what's your name… Tenya, right? That's a really sick idea and I don't mean that as a compliment" I say as I face them all "I didn't come to this stupid school to make friends, just leave me alone"
"What's going on here?" we hear Aizawa sensei ask looking annoyed.
"Pervy here wants to look in my room" I point at Four Eyes.
"I-I am not a pervert. Plus, I'm not the only one who-" Tani covers his mouth.
"I told you that this was a bad idea…" Tani says quietly.
"What was, Tani?" he asks suddenly and I get the feeling that I might not like the way he asked.
"We wanted to take her out so we could go shopping and hangout, but she doesn't seem interested and I told them that" she explains.
"I see…" he says and then he faces me "… If you don't want what happened yesterday to go in your permanent record, then all you have to do is spend a day with your class…"
"WHAT?!" I shout.
(Midoriya's P.O.V.)
"All she's doing is sitting there, should we try to start a conversation" Mina asks as Emma just sits on a bench as the rest of us discuss the plan as stood at the mid location at the mall.
She was wearing a black turtleneck and a pair of darkish blue sweatpants. I still couldn't believe that Aizawa made Emma do this and the worst part was that she blamed Tani for it too.
"Hey, I hope you don't mind, but I'm a bit curious… Doesn't your bangs make it hard for you to see things well at all? I bet you look really cute if you at least-" Denki says smiling before being cut off.
"Sorry, just going to let you know that I'm not a huge fan of blondes" she says bluntly as she turns her face away from him. The minute she said that, the look of shock and despair was all over his face.
"Ouch, that really hurt his pride" Tsuyu said as a wounded Denki walks away still shocked.
"Hey guys, check it out!" Uraraka exclaims as she points at a new Ice Cream Parlor that just opened up "We should grab a snack before we go get our things"
"That's a great idea Uraraka!" I say hoping that this would help ease a little of the tension.
Everyone loves sweets! Maybe this can help us out with- I think to myself as I turn to look at Emma… Only to see her pet Tomiko's head.
"Look loser, you have to do something with us otherwise-" Bakugou says as he points at her, but stops when he sees her flinch "… What's wrong with you?"
"Nothing, just go get your treat and leave me alone. I'll follow once you finish…" Emma crosses her arms and turns away.
"Okay… Just stay here, we'll be back soon" I say as I slowly reach to pat her shoulder, only for her to flinch again.
"God! I get it! Just go!" she shouts at me as I quickly move my hand back before she could slap it away.
Once we make it inside the Parlor, we all start talking.
"Did you see her flinch?" Hagakure says under her voice "Is it possible that she's an abuse victim?"
"It's possible that she's just scared of Bakugou" Tani said quietly.
"But she flinched with Midoriya too, she even yelled at him" Uraraka explains as everyone looks out the window as she appears to look at the books from outside the bookstore.
As we were all discussing this, we all failed to notice that Sero had already brought himself an Ice Cream Cookie and had another one in his hand as he walked out the building.
"Oh my God! He's going to get himself killed" Mineta dramatically yells as he presses his face against the glass window.
"What?!" Tenya exclaims as he tries to go back outside, only for Tani to stop him "Tani, I order you to move aside this instant. Otherwise, I'll have no choice, but to-"
"Iida please trust me when I say let's just see what happens" she says as we just watch in suspense.
Sero sits next to her and she turns her head away from him in annoyance as he begins to eat his Ice Cream sandwich. We look in anticipation as he scoots a small paper bag close to her and gives Tomiko a small cup of Vanilla soft serve ice cream, in which he enjoys quickly. Emma stares at him in what I can only imagine is with suspicion as reaches for the bag, but then hesitates and pulls her hand away quickly. While she's not looking, Sero pulls it out a wrapped Ice Cream cookie and lightly taps her head with it as he keeps his eyes to the ground.
"He's gonna die!" Denki shouts as he throws himself onto the floor like how a soldier would when a bomb is set off.
Surprised, she looks at him curiously as he says something while he still holds out the Ice cream treat. Whatever he says, she seems to gently take him from him and unwraps it. She stares at it for a minute as she says something to him and he appears to answer.
What is happening?
(Emma's P.O.V.)
I go back to sit down on the bench again as I see a happy family walk down the road and I sigh.
"Tomiko… What did I ever do to deserve this?" I ask quietly.
"What do you mean?" he asks as he sits on my lap.
"What I mean is… Everything was fine at our tiny place at that building… We didn't need anyone and now… It's pretty much getting annoying"
Before he could answer, he stops and silently alerts me that someone was coming. It was that Sero guy coming with a smile. I turned away from him in annoyance and began to ignore him. Suddenly, I hear the paper bag be pushed next to me as I saw Tomiko get excited as I saw him eat a cup of ice cream.
Is… Is he offering it to me? I think to myself as I begin to reach for it; however, a partial part of my memory came to me, making pull my hand quickly as I tried not to breathe hard.
Out of nowhere, I feel something tap my head gently with something cold. Taken by surprise, I look at him as I wondered why he did that.
"It's going to melt; you should eat it while you still can" he says calmly as he still holds it out to me. Curiously, I take it out from his hands as I unwrap it.
"Is… Are these two cookies with ice cream-" he cuts me off.
"It's a Cookie Sandwich, I got you a plain one because I didn't know if you liked anything specific" he explains as he takes another bite of his.
I stare at it and then I take a small bite… The flavor was amazing!
Before I know it, I start eating it like a starving child and that's where I hear him laugh softly.
"Glad you liked it. Wait, hold on…" he sticks his index finger between my bangs and parts the right side of my bangs as he tucks it behind my ear "There, now you won't try to eat your hair"
"Did I really?" I say shyly as I look down in embarrassment and he laughs more.
"A little and also, you look different with your hair like that" he compliments as he smiles again and little did I know… I smiled back…
"Thanks… You didn't have to do that" I say as I slowly look up to his level.
"Anytime, by the way… Was that your first time eating that?" I look down again as my eyes widen.
"W-Well…" I couldn't speak as my anxiety began to rise.
"To be honest, that was my first time eating an ice cream cookie too" This surprises me as I look at him again.
"What? But I thought…" I trailed off.
"It's nice to try new things, don't you think?" He says and then stands up "Anyways, we should go and get something for that room of yours"
"H-Huh?" I say afraid that he, along with the other students entered my room to see how empty it was.
"Well, yeah. My guess is that the only thing you have in your is a bedframe and mattress, right?" I sigh in relief as I nod.
"Y-Yeah, I guess you're right… Hm?" I then feel him stroke the top of my head gently.
This… Feeling… It makes me feel… Safe…
"C'mon, I know a place with the best deals for beddings and stuff" he begins to walk off and I snap back to reality as I follow him
