Chapter 2: A Glorious Death

Naruto was sat against a tree, the neck of his jonin vest covering his mouth and a long-sleeved black shirt, black baggy pants and blue sandals. His headband tied on his arm.

He just finished the mission of wiping a bandit camp that was given a couple of hours ago. The mission should have taken a whole day, and he killed them in 5 minutes.

Resting his head against the bark of the tree, he reflected on his current life. His sister, Nico, is currently at the academy living the best life she can, surrounded by friends and attention. Her dream of being hokage is common knowledge, with her screaming it every oportunity she can.

He had considered having that dream too. But after asking Father what exactly the hokage do, he decided not to. He already serves and protects the village, so what's the point of being the hokage if he does the same. And that already isn't fulling.

Kakashi and Jiraya are something interesting. Kakashi just reads his porn all the time, while Jiraya writes it, but turns out that the Sannin wrote one adventure story before his birth, 'Tales of a Gutsy Ninja'. That's his favorite book.

So, he considered writing a book about adventures that he lived as Jiraya suggested. And he tried. But his adventures are so boring and end up so quickly, that he fell asleep while doing it.

Asuma's is to find love. Kurenai's is to be a great shinobi. Gai's is to be show the way of the youth, whatever that means...

He sighed and stood up. For more that he tries, he fails in finding a goal. Maybe his next mission might be interesting.

*Konoha*

After reporting, he arrived home were Nico, his blonde twin sister rushed to him "Hey Naru! How was your mission!?" She asked as he took out his jonin vest.

"Same as always." He said hanging his vest.

"Did you do something fun or cool?" She kept asking as he walked to the kitchen.

"Nothing worth talking about." He answered serving himself a glass of water. Nico pouted due to his answers. "How was the academy?"

Nico instantly grinned and started to talk his ear off about her day. He smiled hearing her. He wishes to have her life.

*Time Later*

Naruto didn't expect much from this mission. It was to find a massive bandit camp near the border and confirm if it actually exist or are just rumors.

The travel took him 2 days and once he arrived the smell of blood filled his nostrils. Raising a brow, he followed his scent and found a fortress, where the information said the bandit army was.

Even if his orders were to not engage, the smell of blood gave him... a feeling. He can't explain, but he wanted to get a closer look. So, he went into the fortress.

The dead filled fortress.

Blood painted the walls and floor, as bodies covered the ground. Seems someone got here before him.

He ducked as a bandaged weapon was swung behind him. He quickly turned around and saw a gigantic shark-like man grinning "To think they sent a kid of all things..." he said and Naruto hummed.

"Kisame Hoshigaki, I imagine you did this." He said without any emotion and Kisame raised a brow.

"Oi, aren't you afraid?" he asked and it was Naruto's turn to be confused.

"Should I?"

Kisame laughed at his answer "I make grown men piss themselves, but a brat isn't even surprised to see so much death!" He laughed and leaned his weapon on his shoulder.

Naruto was getting more and more confused by his attitude. He shrugged as lighting covered his right arm. "Raiton: Rariatto. (Electric Release: Lariat)."

No one, be bandit or shinobi, managed to dodge or survive this attack. Their bodies break at impact and they don't have time to react or even process they died.

This time, he dodged.

Kisame jumped out of the way and Naruto crashed against a wall, breaking it. He turned around as Kisame swung his weapon, hitting his side and destroying his jonin vest and making him bleed from the side of his abdomen.

Naruto stood on his feet as Kisame backed away with a grin. Naruto touched his wound and noticed something. His heart started to beat faster. That's... new.

"What's wrong Red? Scared no-" Kisame was interupted with Naruto kicking him on the face and his arm caught in lighting again.

"Raiton: Rariatto."

He hit Kisame right on the side of the head sending him crashing to the ground, creating a small crater. His heart started to slow down as he turned away.

He walked one step before he heard "DIE!" he took covered his arms in lighting and blocked the swing of the weapon trying to crush his head.

He was pushed a bit back as he struggled to keep Kisame at bay. The pounding of his heart returned and it was stronger than before.

Kisame chuckled "It seems I am not the only one enjoying this, eh Red?"

"What?" Naruto asked as he pushed Kisame back.

Kisame chuckled "Ya're smiling."

Naruto eyes widened as he took out a kunai and watched his reflection. Indeed, a small smile was formed. He... doesn't smile. At all.

Naruto looked at Kisame who rushed at him and tried to stab him, but Naruto sidestepped and charging the kunai with lighting, he threw it at Kisame, penetrating his abdomen and going all the way out of his body.

Kisame coughed out blood, but his grin became wider "YES! That's the spirit Red!" he then did some hand signs "Suiton: Bakusai Shoha! (Water Release: Exploding Water Colliding Wave)" Kisame expelled an insane amount of water from his mouth as the whole fortress became a lake.

Naruto stood on top of the water as Kisame held his bleeding abdomen. The handle of his weapon started to wrap around Kisame's arm and he laughed "This is it... what I had been waiting! A worthy fight!"

Naruto, that at this point couldn't contain his excitement, was grinning, his heart was pounding against his chest, and his blood boiling.

Kisame fused with his weapon, becoming a shark human monster and dove under water. Naruto looked at the lake beneath him, as his foot was grabbed and he was dragged underwater.

Kisame bite him on his shoulder as more blood came out from Naruto's body. Naruto then did his strongest technique, the only one A tought him.

Lighting Release Chakra Mode.

Naruto's hole body was covered in lighting, shocking Kisame, making him release his bite. Naruto dragged Kisame out of the water, and punched the monster on his stomach while holding him by the head.

He then threw Kisame to the air, and using his enhanced speed, he ruahed to one wall, and before Kisame fell back, he rushed again to him and hit him with his elbow on the back, sending Kisame flying, breaking a wall and out of the fortress.

Kisame landed on the grass and couldn't feel his legs as he transformed back into his normal state. He coughed blood and looked up to see Naruto, still covered in lighting, fall on top of him, driving his fist into his chest where his heart was.

Naruto breathed hardly as he grinned. That was the best feeling of his life! Kisame chuckled weakly "Thank you... for making my dream come true... thank you for giving me... a glorious death..." Kisame coughed a bit more blood before finally dying.

Naruto removed his fist and sat down in front of the corpse. He had a wild look on his face, complemented by a wide grin. "That's it... that's why I live..." he muttered as he stood up slowly, and picked up the sword that rested at Kisame's side.

He walked away; his body covered in blood "Thank you Kisame..." He looked at the grave without name he did for his fallen foe "For giving me a purpose."
