After freeing herself, Asui ran towards the two.
As much as she wants Uraraka to die for what she did to her, it's very unheroic to not save someone when they need help. Even if it's a villain, death isn't what they deserve.
"Stop!" the frog shouted, catching attention to the man.
"It has to be done…" he shouted, "the world's better without her."
"And if you do this, you'll be no better than her." Asui said, "this is your daughter, I know she has done bad, I know she's a killer. But you would be a villain if you kill her. Please… keep her down but let her go…"
Uraraka looks at the student, loosening his grip from the hands, the girl had enough breath to inhale. He suddenly realizes what he was doing and what he would be if he had gone through with this.
"What am I doing?" he said, letting go of her daughter's neck.
Ochako meanwhile felt the pain in her neck and saw her father, she couldn't believe what happened, and she has no words.
She tried to free herself but was caught by the weight of the man.
"Girl…" he turns back to Asui after holding Uraraka down, "there's a phone in my left pocket, get it out and call the police, they'll deal with her."
"What?" Uraraka said in shock, she couldn't believe what she's hearing.
"It's better if we do it the right way…" he said, "we'll put you where you belong… rotting in a cell…"
"P… please daddy…." Uraraka was in tears, afraid of what's going to happen.
"You are not my daughter!"
Ochako heart broke when she heard the words of her father.
It's all over.
She's done for.
(months later)
It's been a long time since Ochako Uraraka was sent into a mental facility. She wasn't a high threat to go to Tartarus and was considered insane during her trial. Her sentence was a long term at a mental health prison-like facility due to both her crimes and incapability to rejoin society
It was painful.
No blood, no fun, it's just the same boring routine of screaming, begging for blood, the thrust got her in peer desperation that she was forced into a wrist jacket just to keep her controlled.
It was days and weeks of nothing but that.
Though on this day, it was a surprise.
She was told that a guest was arriving to speak with her.
Hence why she's in a room with a chair and table in front of her while strapped on an upward table, the same thing as she did to the frog. Her body was strapped with her wrist jacket still on.
The door opens with a guard appearing, then her guest.
It was her.
The frog who arrested her.
"T…Tsu?" she spoke in surprise.
"Don't call me by that name, Uraraka." She responded as she walks towards the table and sat on the seat. "we're not friends and we'll never be, ribbit. Not after what you did to me."
"then why are you here?" Uraraka asks, feeling somewhat upset about how the frog feels towards her.
In response, calm down and took a breath. "I came to let you know… that I now see…"
This raised an eyebrow, a little confused yet intrigue to what she means, did she got through to her?
"I had a lot of thinking after your arrest, I talked to your parent to discussed what happened and what made you this way and it made me realize… you're not the only one."
"I'm… not?"
"There are several people, children that have a quirk that was like yours. I also talked to other people about this and they say things that I couldn't agree with and asked questions."
This was being honest with Asui, even after a discussion with All Might he told that he couldn't save everyone and understood that he can't be everywhere at once and he is one person. When she told him about people who become villains, he answered that there was no possible way to help them, that his mentor once said that no matter who they are or where they're from, they committed crimes and must face justice.
This answer felt very uneased towards the frog and felt it was wrong. Hence the realization and her reason to be here.
To make a promise.
"I wanted to be a hero to help people, ribbit." Asui stated, "but I realize that there are people like you who couldn't be helped by heroes…"
"So you see why society needs to be changed? Right?" Uraraka smiled.
"Yes," Asui admitted, "but we can't just kill people or torture them, you were just lost… and your mother and father knew how much you struggled…"
"Don't you dare talk about them!" Uraraka shifts her smile to anger.
"I talked to them as well," Asui said, "and they told me everything about your life and how much they struggled with your treatment, it wasn't fair to you. and nobody could help you."
The frog then stood up from her seat, "which is why I'm going to become a hero who does not stop villains, but prevent villains. and it will start with you."
"Me?" Uraraka chuckled, "why bother? I'm beyond saving."
"Nobody is beyond saving." Asui stated, "I'm going to visit more often and we will talk more, I will talk about my work and the people I helped and hopefully one day, you know that your plan didn't go out in vain."
"It already has by being here, Tsu…" she said, using the name that Asui didn't want her to be called. "You think you can help people like me? Just wait till you will fail and you will see that I was right for doing those bad things."
"Times up." The guard called with the doors opening behind her.
The frog sighs and proceeds to walk away from Uraraka with other guards coming in to drag her away back to her cell.
"I might not be your hero, I might not be your friend, but, no matter how long it will take, you will see what I can do to help you."
And with that Asui left, now confident with her new goal.
She will no longer be the Rainy Season Hero, a hero who would not only help people, save people and stop villains but a hero who will find people who would be one slip away from becoming villains and catch them before they fall.
Uraraka was her understanding of this problem that nobody notices nor cared about.
Until Froppy came along. The hero who prevents villainy.
And hope that one day, Ochako will be better and can rejoin society, even if their hair goes white, when that day comes, she'll be there to welcome her with open arms.
Then time repeats.
Would Uraraka be better, would Asui keep her promise? It's a bright future for her and maybe a slightly brighter future for the world.
We can all agree but have different ways of doing them, there are no right or wrong answers, but to know the problem is a step ahead towards figuring out its solution.
We can learn these from our pasts our mistakes, our pain, and make it out so no one else can suffer under them.
That's how this ending goes anyway.
During this read, you probably asking this piacular question.
Where's Toga?
In this reality, is she still a villain? is she still on the run? Does she care for blood? Does she still have her quirk?
Well, as the saying goes, every action will always have an opposite reaction.
And for this instant, Toga has Uraraka Quirk, a manageable quirk. Without the side effect, people could accept her for who she is, she can adapt to her quirk and not have the urge to cut people. she has a regular life and society accepted her.
Does this mean she would be a hero? Maybe, but there's always a choice of not being one, not everyone wants to be a hero nor a villain, some would rather be who they are.
There isn't really much to talk about her, in this timeline she's just a regular girl who has the same opportunity as everyone else. Unlike Uraraka who was made evil because the world can't accept her for who she is with her quirk.
In the main timeline they might be on their own side, but remember what got them there and question yourself if they would still be in the same position had they have different quirks.
But that's the problem for Memorywalkers, many of them are short-sighted and only see from what they know. Unaware of potential to the infinite possibilities unimaginable.
But that's the problem, it's unimaginable… yet possible…
I don't know if I'll do another of these scenarios for this fascinating multiverse… but till then remember that you don't have to see the wide lake as a linear river.
For now, I shall take my leave…
